First Face Off

Diana just dropped her dog Wishbone off at her friends' comic store. The dog was always well behaved for the two of them, so she trusts both her Pitbull and her friends to get along. What she didn't know is that some people were gonna meet the three of them.

Diana saw her uncle moping outside the rink, he was probably more worried about money than the rink. "Uncle, chin up. We'll find another team."

Phil looked at his niece and started ranting, while staring at her like she grew a second head. "Where and how am I gonna find a new team in time?!" Diana rolled her eyes and went inside the rink, where she started her daily practice.

Meanwhile: Brought to you by the Chameleon's impressions

A spaceship touched down in town. Duke, a former thief and alien duck read the welcome sign. "Ana-Heim, home of the Mighty Frogs?"

WildWing looked around and made some observations as they walked. "Looks like Puck-World." "Yeah, but with better weather." Mallory answered back at him.

Tanya, their scientist was looking around too. "Impossible, we're not even in our own dimension anymore. For all we know this dimension could be populated by giant snails with thousands of eyes. Or primitive barbarians."

NoseDive, WildWing's younger brother pointed out the mall that was seen after he went through some bushes. "Yeah, primitive, huh? We talking serious civilization here kiddies!" The whole flock came out of the bushes and entered the mall with Tanya saying, "You know, this place might not be so bad."

Mallory wasn't so sure as she eyed some of the stores. "Well, we won't know unless we do a shop-to-shop search mission." NoseDive soon spotted the comic shop and decided to us Mallory's plan to his advantage.

"I hear ya, Mal. Let's go scope out that comic shop!" He led the red headed duck to the store.

Duke and WildWing walked in front of a fast-food place called 'Weiner World." WildWing was actually the first to say something about it. "Weiner World? Maybe that's the name of this place." Duke approached a man coming out of the food place.

"Hey, buddy? Do you think you can tell us what planet this is?" The man only ran away out of fear and Duke sarcastically made a remark. "You'd think he's never seen a duck before."

With Mallory and NoseDive they entered the comic shop causing a white Pitbull with black patches to look up from his bone. "Yo dudes! Excuse me."

The two humans behind the counter jumped and screamed making the two ducks scream too. "Woah, what are you man?! Mutants?!" "No, we're ducks from another dimension." Mallory corrected them but the girl with purple hair answered back.

"Talking alien ducks?! Cool!" The man came over with a smile on his face. "So, are you the first of a hideous invasion that's going to take over the earth?" NoseDive shook his head as the dog in the room came up to Mallory and sniffed her.

"Negative hammer, we're just checking out some comics." The Pitbull had a wagging tail now as more ducks came in and he seemed happy to meet them. Mallory knelt down and pet the dog as he licked her face a bit.

"This your dog?" The man shook his head. "Nah, Wishbone here belongs to a friend of ours. He is a good guard dog, and customers love him too. By the way, friends of yours?"

NoseDive nodded as he used his thumb to point to the team. "My posse. I'm uh, the brains of the operation." Wishbone then greeted WildWing by putting his front paws on his chest. "Hey, buddy."

The red head managed to get Wishbone off the leader the Pitbull even saved Grin or tried to when WildWing nearly sprayed him with a water gun. Wishbone knew the smell of an ice rink on the ducks, so he led them out back and to the hockey rink his owner was at. Phil was sorting papers when Wishbone came up to him with a tail wag, course when Phil saw the ducks he freaked out.

After talking about wanting to play hockey and putting on some gear of the Mighty Frogs, Phil led them to the ice where they saw someone already practicing shooting pucks into the goal. They had some real power behind their stick too.

"Looks like someone beat us to practice my friends." The person in hockey gear could hear them loud and clear but didn't get distracted.

"Yeah, Wolfy has been playing hockey since they could skate." The mystery player then shot their last puck before skating over to meet the new team of aliens. "Ducks, this is Diana, my niece."

Diana took off her helmet to reveal her shoulder length, dark hair and the feathered earing on her left ear. Her forest green eyes then landed on Wishbone who managed to stand on the ice for a bit before jumping on her.

"Hey, Wishbone. I missed you too buddy, but you gotta stop jumping on people." Diana managed to get her dog off her and the ice before getting up and greeting the ducks. "Diana Palmfeather, nice to meet you guys."

Duke shook her hand and let out, "Least someone has manners." under his breath. Another team then came barreling in on the ice, Diana knew them as the worst goons in hockey. The Destroyers.

Wishbone growled at this team until Grin calmed him down by giving the dog a few scratches behind his ear. "Give me a minute." Diana skated over to the goons but stopped in front of their captain.

"Get out, now." Drex the captain, got in Diana's face and grinned with his gap-toothed mouth.  WildWing turned to Phil and pointed to the goons.

"Who're they?" "The Destroyers, worst goons in hockey. They've been kicked out of every league." Diana's green eyes were narrowed as she started to grit her teeth. "Aren't you worried they're gonna hurt her?" NoseDive was half tempted to show these goons whose boss, WildWing was silently agreeing.

Phil only gave a nervous smile as he watched his niece hook her stick on the Destroyer captain's ankle and trip him. She had a warrior's stoic face as she twirled her hockey stick like a bo staff and point the end of it at the goon, her glare colder than the ice beneath her skates. "Nope, Wolfy can take care of herself."

Diana then skated back over cursing under her breath in Inuit, her mother's birth language. "If you guys are thinking of playing against them watch your backs and don't go easy on them. Some people on earth don't go by the book and it's disgusting."

Mallory came up to Diana and patted her back. "Thanks for letting us know."

"Any time, oh, and if you need to, ram them into the glass for me."

The two fighters fist bumped before the ducks challenged the Destroyers to a game. First round, the birds got creamed by the cheating scumbags, so Diana called a time out. "Time out! Guys, come here!"

The ducks came over and Diana looked to WildWing. "You're captain, right?" To be honest she felt the white duck was the leader even if he shook his head no.

"I-No, I'm..." The girl tilted her head. "Listen, didn't I say not to go easy? They're goons, you guys play by the book and don't treat them like a mini league."

This seemed to set him straight as he nodded, and they came up with a strategy, one that would be by the book and beat the goon squad. The strategy worked very well. "Nice job, never seen a goalie who could block every shot."

To say the least, Diana was impressed by how the team played. She knew her uncle was on the phone right now, trying to make money. "Thanks, but what about you? Those shots you were practicing, you might even get a puck past my big bro."

Diana shook her head and chuckled a bit as Grin sat with Wishbone. The pitbull looked like a puppy again sitting next to the large duck.

"My parents taught me. My dad was Thomas 'The Wolf' Palmfeather. My mom was Nita 'BearClaw', they were the best hockey players I knew."

Duke raised a brow at the were part. "What do you mean 'were'?"

Diana touched her earing and looked down; it was a habit she had when someone would bring up her parents. It wasn't the first-time people bring up her parents. "They passed away years ago when I was in high school."

WildWing could relate to losing someone that important to you, the whole team could. "Any who, I didn't get all of your names."

Tanya was the first to introduce herself as she stuck out her hand. "I'm Tanya." Diana shook the scientist's hand as the others introduced themselves.

A week into the ducks playing hockey, they were a total hit! And as part of the contract them and Phil had they built their base under the rink, Diana actually started bunking with Mallory when her uncle became too much for her. He became annoying in the past week, thinking of new ways to make money like stunts or photoshoots.

Right now, WildWing was going over the weapons they had. "Puck-Bazookas, Puck-Cannons, and Ice-Sheilds. Now we're ready for anything Draganus throws at us." Diana picked up one of the weapons and inspected it, making sure the safety is on and being careful as she looked it over. It's not the first time she's handled a dangerous weapon.

"No kidding. Oh, before I forget, Tanya. I found a chain of stores called Lectric-Land, it's apparently a techie's paradise." Diana put the weapon back in its place and took out a magazine for the electronics' store.

Tanya took the magazine and lit up with a bright smile on her beak. "Thanks, Diana!" Tanya gave the human a hug and Diana hugged her back, happy to help her friend.

Once they broke the hug WildWing took charge, and Diana was seeing a born leader from where she was standing. "Let's get moving. Tanya, we need a master computer to help us search for Draganus."

Diana looked to Wishbone before going to feed him. The girl then went to her shared bunk and pulled out a bag from under her bed. Opening it she found her vigilante gear, so she put it on. A silver shoulder guard was on her right shoulder, a knife was strapped to a belt that had pucks attached to it, she also put on a black goalie mask. The last of her gear was a metal hockey stick, retractable roller blades, and when she had everything, she pulled her hair into a low ponytail.

Diana heard the ducks leave in their new ride before going to her own secret garage, a black motorcycle with a silver wolf painted on the sides was waiting for her. Wishbone came up to his owner and whined. "Wishbone, stay here and stand guard."

The dog sat down, and Diana took off on her bike, but at night on the street she wasn't Diana anymore. She was the Silver Wolf, and it was time for a hunt. The police scanner she built into her radio started to buzz to life as she rode fast.

"Bank robbery in progress, I repeat bank robbery in progress." Silver Wolf rode for the bank as two men dressed in ninja garb with a lazor were blowing open the vault. The woman burst through the window and started beating up the crooks.

She used her stick to block attacks and dish out her own as she fought, but she didn't notice the ducks arrived to help as she tied up the ninjas and deactivated the lazor. "Looks like someone beat us to the punch."

Diana turned and saw the ducks but ushered them out and into the Migrater before walking her bike in the vehicle as well. The human then pointed to the road and WildWing started driving. "Who are you?" Mallory asked her, making Diana roll her eyes behind her mask.

NoseDive then came up to her and gasped, he saw her in the paper. "You're the Silver Wolf of Anaheim, aren't you? Could I get an autograph?"

Diana chuckled a bit before taking off her mask to show her face causing some of the team to stare in shock. "Sure, if you don't mind me being a friend though."

"Diana?!"

She laughed a bit before nodding and leaning on her bike. "You're the Silver Wolf?!" She smiled as WildWing set the Migrater on autopilot before coming to the back and crossing his arms.

"You could've gotta hurt." "I've been at this since my parents passed. Call me Batman, but I wanted to do something meaning full of my life instead of sulking." Grin placed a hand on Diana's unarmored shoulder in comfort, the girl patting it letting him know she appreciates it.

Duke then came over and asked about her skills. "What about all those moves you were pulling?"

"I have a life outside the rink. I've taken martial arts, self-defense classes, and even use some of my hockey skills." They soon arrived back at the pond and Phil was there pacing as he was trying to figure out what he should do about pay. "I know. Official Mighty Ducks Secret Headquarters tour. Ten bucks a head!"

Diana was half tempted to hit her uncle for that but was greeted by Wishbone, who had a wrench in his mouth. She had to guess he was 'helping' Tanya with their supercomputer.

Duke decided to be sarcastic as he said, "You lead a very rich fantasy Phil."

Diana then took the wrench from her dog and walked up to Tanya with NoseDive. "Woah, nice mainframe, Tanya." Tanya turned and held up the magazine Diana gave her.

"Diana was right about Lectric-Land! It was just fabulous." Tanya then turned back to the screen. "I call it Drake One. We can use it to look for Draganus anytime we want, like right now even."

WildWing was doubtful of it, but Diana could see a deep pain behind his eyes. "Yeah, well I wouldn't give a used puck bag at our chances of finding him." Duke placed a hand on WildWing's shoulder.

"WildWing, I think it's about time you put on that mask and be a leader." Diana then understood, they were talking about Canard and how in his final moments, chose WildWing to be team captain. The woman only heard stories about Canard, mostly from NoseDive and Mallory.

But she could tell he meant a lot to WildWing, almost like he was an older brother to him and his brother. "I'm just keeping it safe until we find Canard."

Diana took a breath and shook her head. "Wild, he chose you to be captain for a reason." WildWing turned away. "She's right, he wanted you to lead us!"

The male duck only shook his head and came up with another excuse. "Look, I don't want to be a leader, it's too much responsibility." Diana shook her head again and grabbed his beak, forcing him to look at her.

"Don't make excuses! When my parents passed, I wanted to quit playing hockey because I lost the best teammates I ever had. But I didn't stop because I made a promise to them. I don't think Canard would want you to sulk, he'd want you to do everything you can to lead this team." Diana let go of his beak and stood next to Tanya as Drake One started to sound an alarm.

"Drake One is picking up an unusual energy source outside the city." Tanya looked at the map on the screen.

"It could be the Raptor's drive system." WildWing then stood with Diana, but a foot away from her due to her small outburst earlier. "If you're right, then we found Draganus."

Diana got ready to go by putting on her vigilante gear and getting in the Arrow-Wing. The ducks soon joined her, dragging her uncle behind them. "I'm guessing he said something he shouldn't have."

Mallory sat with Diana and looked at the gear strapped to the girl. "Where did you get all your gear?"

"Made it myself. That and I built the bike you all saw me wheel into the Migrater." Tanya looked back at the human woman and asked about it. "You built a bike?"

"I majored in mechanics in college, and I had some spare time." After the ship took off Diana was amazed at how fast it could go and soon, they landed and got out. "Damn, that was better than a roller-coaster ride."

NoseDive came over and placed his arm around her shoulders. "I know right?"

Turns out they landed in the mountains, Diana looked around as her uncle came out after them as Tanya was taking energy readings. "This is the source of the energy readings."

Diana lifted her head so she could smell the wind and what she smelled wasn't good. "I smell brimstone mixed with scales."

"You can smell them?" Mallory asked the woman. "Yeah, I kinda trained out in the woods for a while and purposely sharpened my hearing and smell. I could fight blind if I wanted to."

Phil then came up to Tanya with a smug look and looked around. "Yeah right. This place is just crawling with evil." This earned the man a slap upside the head by his niece, who crossed her arms with a disappointed look.

WildWing had a disappointed look too, but his was more along the lines of not finding the Raptor. "This is hopeless. We don't even know if Draganus is on this planet! We're never gonna find him."

Diana hit WildWing in the arm for his attitude, but then the earth started to shake beneath their feet. They looked to the top of one of the mountains, as it disappeared to reveal a large ship with a menacing look. "Oh yeah, looks like he just found us!"

The Raptor took off and everyone ran back to the Arrow-Wing as they were shot at by whoever was piloting the Raptor. The team, plus Phil, got back into the ducks' ship and high tailed it to try and get out of the line of fire. Phil was banging on the door with his fists and shouting about how he wanted to go home, but that wasn't happening yet. Diana stood between WildWing and NoseDive, who're both in the pilot seats.

"We gotta get control of that ship." Dive was not having his brother's crazy idea. "Are you wack, man?!" Diana rolled her eyes as she kept her eyes on where they were going. "They're packing enough heat to Charbroil the planet!"

Diana sat NoseDive back into his seat and started agreeing with WildWing. "That's why we have to get that thing under control, Dive. People could get hurt."

"That, and its gateway generators are our only ticket home." WildWing made a sharp turn and landed on the roof of the Raptor, they then used the Arrow-Wing's lazors to carve a hole in the red ship.

Diana helped lower ropes down and took it upon herself to help the team. "Phil, wait here." Diana lowered herself down after Mallory, WildWing wasn't too happy about the human coming though.

"Diana..." He was cut off by the girl putting on her black mask and pressing a button on the side, making the eye holes glow a smokey blue color.

"I'm fighting with you guys, and if I die, I die a warrior's death." She took out her hockey stick and clicked another button on it turning the end you hit the pucks with into a sharp blade.

"Fine, Tanya get control of the main engines, Grin keep her covered." Diana was seeing the leader come out in him but what he said next drew some concern. "We have to get to the cockpit."

"That'll mean engaging Draganus and his goons!" A light then shown as a lizard alien then stood in front of the group. "Am I psychic or what?"

Diana narrowed her eyes behind her mask as she got ready for a fight. "So, you want a rematch, aye?" Diana only focused on her teammates' safety as she raised her hockey stick in a battle-ready stance as two more lizards appeared.

A fireball gathered in the wizard looking one's hand and he threw it, but the others dodged in time as the flame hit some crates. WildWing threw the largest Saurian over his head and slammed him into the floor as he charged.

Diana helped Duke fight off the wizard as Dive shot another hole in the ceiling, the pieces of rubble crashed down on the one Wild threw.

Mallory managed to throw the shapeshifter at the wizard, knocking them both out. But all three lizards got up as a fourth came out of hiding.

He was Draganus, and he was enraged. "ENOUGH!"

He ordered his stooges to take the controls and blast the city as he said he'll handle the ducks and Diana. Duke stepped up holding his saber. "Not without a fight, Draganus!"

"Don't be so sure about that." He used his wrist blaster to fire at the team and they were a little late to dodge. Mallory, NoseDive, and Duke were thrown by the explosion to where some barrels were stacked. Draganus blasted those making them fall on the three, it was up to WildWing and Diana now.

"Now for you two. You won't even know what hit you." He turned invisible when WildWing tried to charge at him. Diana was quick to close her eyes and reined her intuition, sensing where the lizard would strike. She heard him laugh and pick up Wild, she then struck Draganus making him let go of the duck.

"You little!" The lord then picked up Diana by her neck and took off her mask, to show her tanned face. "Your pet will die if you don't surrender." He then threw Diana into WildWing and the two got up and stood back-to-back, guarding each other.

"You can't hide, Draganus! You're gonna lose!" Diana blocked an attack but since WildWing couldn't see or sense the lizard, he was hit and knocked away from Diana.

"Your leader has gone, and you're a poor substitute." Diana joined her friend's side and blocked another attack.

"I'll find Canard, whatever it takes!"

"Wild, don't listen to him, he's trying to distract you! I've seen what Canard saw in you; he saw a natural leader! So, step up!" WildWing was then picked up and thrown into a wall as Diana was thrown next to him.

"You fools! You'll never see your friend again." Wild looked like he was about to lose hope, and that didn't sit well with Diana, so she struck the air with her stick but missed since her anger was getting the better of her.

"No, I don't believe you!" NoseDive, Mallory, and Duke finally came out of the barrel pile as Diana was smelling the air and listening for another attack.

"Deal with it, duck boy. Canard is trapped for all eternity in dimensional limbo, along with the mask." Diana looked to Wild as he looked like he just had a flashback and she smiled as he pulled out the mask from his pocket.

"Wrong, dino breath." The duck then wrestled away a device from Draganus and crushed it, makng the dino turn visible again.

Diana took her chance and kicked the lizard away from WildWing and smiled at the duck. Diana smirked as she and Wild tackled Draganus, but a red light stopped them.

"The city is in range my lord. We're ready to commence bombardment." Was heard on the ship's speakers as Diana helped WildWing wrestle Draganus as a soot covered Grin and Tanya came running to the group.

"Uh guys, you're not gonna believe this!" Mallory, being done with all this nonsense, turned to the two. "Oh, what now?!"

"Oh, it seems that we're sorta gonna crash." Diana then gained wide eyes as she then focused on the two. "What?!"

"Well, you know, we kinda destroyed the main engines. It's just a little miscalculation." They all raced to get back to the Arrow-Wing with Dive complaining. "Oh man, someone give me a donut. Does she always have to blow something up!?"

Diana helped them climb to the Arrow-Wing and made it up in time for take-off. She watched as the Raptor veered downward towards the city. "It's heading straight for the city!"

The ship then veered away and disappeared. "What just happened?" Tanya answered Mallory as Diana looked to WildWing, she couldn't tell what he was thinking or feeling under the mask. "They must have switched to auxiliary power."

WildWing had a more serious tone as he pointed to where the Raptor disappeared to. "Then we gotta search for them."

Diana placed a hand on WildWing's hand and put it down before speaking. "We're nearly out of fuel, and only have enough to get back to the pond. Besides, we weakened their legs a bit they will be easier to find later." Duke agreed and put a hand on Wild's shoulder.

"Diana's right, we'll find them again. Because now, we have a leader." Mallory then came up and stood next to Diana with a smile. "And a real team captain."

The other's started to encourage WildWing as Phil stood in the background, but Diana softly elbowed Wild in the arm. "No more excuses, Wild?"

"No more excuses." Diana nodded with a soft smirk as they all made it back to the pond for some rest.

Wishbone greeted them by tackling NoseDive and licking the duck's face as the team laughed at his predicament. "Oh yeah, laugh at the duck who got pounced on."

Diana took out a squeaky chew toy in the shape of a carrot. "Wishbone, look who I got." The pitbull got off Dive and took his toy for some much-needed chewing. Diana then tapped WildWing and led him to the kitchen, since it was their turn to make dinner.

"You did good today." Wild helped her gather ingredients for chili and started to cut the garlic. "I don't know. What if I'm not the leader Canard wants me to be?"

Diana placed the tomato sauce in the pot and added meat, beans, and the garlic that the duck helping her chopped up. "I'm not gonna give advice, but I can tell you, your team will help you every step of the way. And so, will I."

WildWing looked at the human as she stirred in some Worcestershire sauce. "Really?"

"If you think I'm gonna sit back and let those scales for brains lizards take over my home. Think again." Wild was glad they had a new ally in this fight against Draganus, it put him at ease.

"Just try to be careful."

"No promises there, Wild."
