Crush, Chop and Burn, Part 1

"Welcome to your new home, Mrs. Davenport!" A man says as he carries his newlywed wife bridal style into his big mansion.

"Why, thank you, Mr. Davenport." Mrs. Davenport says.

"Absolutely, Mrs. Davenport."

As the two kiss, Mrs. Davenport's thirteen-year-old son, Leo, walks in with the suitcases. "We get it...you got married. It's getting old." Leo groans as he throws the bags onto the floor. Leo looks around his new home as Mr. Davenport puts Mrs. Davenport down and closes the door.

"Wow! You got this big house just from inventing things?" Leo asks.

"Mm-hmm." Mr. Davenport says, smiling and nodding his head.

"Way to go, mom. That's a husband." Leo says, pointing at Mr. Davenport. Mr. Davenport and Mrs. Davenport kiss. "What the heck is that?" Leo asks, walking up to a strange device standing in the middle of the room.

"Oh...uh...That is my latest creation." Mr. Davenport says. "Davenport Industries' first completely interactive 3-D TV." Mr. Davenport turns on the device, and it plays a 3-D baseball game. A ball comes flying out of the screen, and Leo tries to catch it, but he falls back and hits the wall.

"Watch the vase, termite!" On the wall Leo ran into, there was a small screen that had an emoji face on it. Leo backs away.

"Mom, I think the little voice inside my head is back," Leo says.

"No, this is Eddy, he's my smart home system." Mr. Davenport explains. "Eddy, this is my new stepson, Leo. Remember, I told you Leo and Tasha are moving in today?"

"Hey, welcome. Everything here is mine." Eddy says.

"Uh, Leo, why don't you go check out your new bedroom? Just go straight down that hallway, and when you see the room with the video games and the action figures and the 50-foot-screen TV. Keep walking...that's mine." Mr. Davenport says, making the smile on Leo's face fade away.

Leo was walking down a hallway when he stopped and leaned against a wall. "This place is huge! I'm gonna need a GPS just to find the bathroom." Leo leans against a control pad, and a secret elevator appears. It opens up, and Leo slowly walks toward it.

"Hello?" He says. When Leo steps inside the elevator, the doors quickly close behind him, and he screams as the elevator shoots down to the basement. Once the doors open, Leo pops his head out of the elevator. He walks out and finds himself standing inside a lab.

"Whoa! My new dad is Batman!" Leo exclaimed. Leo hides behind a bunch of yellow crates when he hears a noise. A scrawny 14-year-old boy with dark brown hair runs into the lab and quickly presses a button to close the door.

"Good luck gettin' in! That steel door is thicker than your head!" The scrawny boy says.

The doors suddenly flew open and the scrawny boy's older brother was standing on the other side with his hands on his hips. He was 16-years-old and taller than his younger brother.

"Well, there's another way to get in." The scrawny boy says. The taller boy walks up to his younger brother and picks him up.

"Give me back my ePod!"

"I don't have it!" The scrawny boy shouts as he dangles in the air.

"Looking for something, big brother?" A small girl who looked to be the exact same age as the scrawny boy says.

"You took my ePod!" The taller boy gasps, dropping his younger brother and making him fall hard to the ground. The scrawny boy glares up at his big brother.

"Taylor Swift Mega Mix...really? She's so annoying why do you listen to her?" I ask. "Even Bree doesn't like her music."

"I find her soothing." The taller boy says. I gave my brother a weird look, and as I started to walk away, the taller boy's eyes began to glow red, and lasers shot out of his eyes, narrowly missing my head.

"Oh, I know you didn't shoot that laser at me," I say, turning around.

"Oh, sorry. It was a terrible mistake. Just like your face." The taller boy says.

"Hey, Bree, catch!" I say. Just as I let go of my brother's ePod a 15-year-old girl with lighter brown hair comes super speeding into the lab and catches the ePod.

"Come and get it, loser," Bree says. The taller boy walks up to me and shoves me as he tries to get his ePod back.

"Don't shove me!" I shout, hitting my big brother's shoulder. The taller boy shoves me back a little harder than he intended, and I fall back into the yellow crates. When the four of us see Leo, we all scream.

Leo screams back, and for a moment, he stands still before running further into the lab with a squeal.

I stand in the lab with my siblings as we stare at Leo, who has a scared look on his face. "Okay, I don't play this card too often, but...MOM!"

Tasha and Mr. Davenport walk into the lab as Leo runs up to his mom and wraps his arms around her. "Leo! There you are! Oh!" Tasha says. She looks around the lab and sees my siblings and me. "What is this place? Who are they?"

"Uh...They, uh, are...A boy band I've been working with, um, and the twist is, two of 'em are girls." Mr. Davenport says. "All right, they're part of a secret project I've been developing...genetically engineered superhuman siblings. Tasha, Leo, meet Adam, Bree, Chase, and Cassie...the greatest combination of biology and technology ever developed. I don't want to brag, but I am incredibly smart."

Tasha looks at Leo. "Don't look at me. I told you to stay away from Internet dating." Leo says.

"So they're robots," Tasha says, making the four of us gasp.

"Whoa!" Chase says.

"Hey!" Adam says.

"Oh, no she didn't!" Bree says.

"I find that incredibly offensive," I say.

"No, Tasha, they're human, I've just given each of them a unique set of bionic abilities controlled by a microchip implant in their necks. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is." Mr. Davenport explains. "See, Adam is all brute strength, and Bree has speed and agility, and Chase has super senses and a superior intelligence and Cassie can walk through walls and has the unique ability to tell when someone is lying."

"How can you tell when someone is lying?" Leo asks me.

"Oh, my eyes turn purple when someone lies," I explain. "Watch." I look at Adam. "Hey, Adam, did you or did you not eat the last chocolate chip muffin I was going to eat this morning?"

"Uh...no," Adam says. My eyes turn purple when he lies.

"I knew it! You always eat the last chocolate chip muffin!" I sighed.

"I'm sorry. I can't help it! They're chocolatey." Adam says.

"That's so cool!" Leo says.

"I know, right?" I smile.

Tasha laughs and gives us an awkward smile as she walks up to Mr. Davenport. "Donald...hi...There are children living in our basement!"

"This is a scientific habitat." Mr. Davenport says. "I mean, look at it...it's got a game room and a rock wall...anything a kid could ask for. I've created this place so they can train in the utmost of comfort and technology."

"It's true. The toilets have seat-warmers that talk." Adam says.

"What do they say?" Leo asks.

"It varies, depending on..."

"No," Leo says, cutting off Adam.

"Donald, I don't know what to make of all this," Tasha says. "Some new wives get surprised with a honeymoon in Hawaii or...a cruise. Bionic teenagers were not on our wedding registry."

"Honey, they have to stay down here for their own safety. This is all very top secret. But as soon as their training is complete, they'll be able to handle any crisis or problem that the world throws at them." Mr. Davenport says.

"I want to go to Spain," I say.

"I want to go to the pyramids," Chase adds.

"I want to go to Paris," Bree says.

"I want to go upstairs," Adam says.

Leo notices four large glass tubes in the lab. "Hey, what are those?" He walks up to them. "Time machines?"

"No, they're not time machines. The time machines are actually in the shop." Mr. Davenport says. "These are my biologically regulated atmospheric chambers where my bionic creations live and sleep and eat. Which reminds me, it's dinner time."

"Yeah!" The four of us shout as we step inside our capsules.

"Ready?" Mr. Davenport says. He presses a button, and a bunch of tiny food pellets fall into our capsules.

"These are my patented protein pellets. Whatever they don't catch is tomorrow's breakfast." Mr. Davenport says.

~*~*~*~*~*~*

Once we were done eating our protein pellets, we begin our bionic training. "Okay, Cassie. Focus. Try to phase through that wall." Mr. Davenport says. I take a deep breath as I stare at a metal wall that was standing in the middle of the room. I ran toward the wall and successfully phased through it.

"Yes! I did it!" I shout.

"Nice work, Cassie!" Mr. Davenport says. I was a little nervous about phasing through the wall because sometimes I never have full control of my powers, and on most occasions, if I don't concentrate hard enough, I end up running into something.

"Quick! You've just been attacked!" Mr. Davenport shouts. He takes out a blaster and fires a laser at me just as I duck. "Enemy grenade, three o'clock!" Mr. Davenport throws a small ball at me. I wasn't prepared, and I almost lost my footing when Chase quickly jumped in front of me and created a blue force field around us that destroyed the ball.

"Yeah!" I say, giving my brother a high five when the force field disappears.

"Hey! Why does he get a force field, and I don't?" Adam asks.

"'Cause if you had one, I wouldn't be able to do this," Bree says, throwing a water bottle at Adam, making me laugh.

"Nice one, Bree," I say, giving her a fist bump.

"Okay, you guys take the rest of the day off. I'm gonna go speak at a tech conference...because I'm awesome...I'm gonna have the speedboats detailed, and then I'm gonna go get waxed." Mr. Davenport says. We all give him a strange look when he said that he was gonna get waxed. "Don't judge me." He leaves the lab.

"Well, I better get ready for school," Leo says.

"Ohh! I have always dreamed about going to school. Passing notes, going to prom, breaking into choreographed dance numbers after math class." Bree says, doing jazz hands.

"Yeah. All we do is eat, sleep, and train for missions." Chase says. "We're like human lab rats."

"Come on. It can't be that bad." Leo says. We all looked at Adam who was running in a giant human hamster wheel. "So, you've never left this room?" The four of us shake our heads. "That explains the haircuts."

"I bet school's fun. You know, except for books, classes, and learning stuff." Adam says.

"It's not fun when you're the smart kid," Leo says.

"Well, down here, smart is considered superior," Chase says with a smile.

"No, it's not." Adam, Bree, and I say. Chase gives us a dirty look.

"Hey, you guys should come to school with me! You could be my bionic bodyguards!" Leo says.

"School sounds pretty boring, but if it gets me out of this lab, I'm in!" I say.

"Me too!" Bree says.

"Okay!" Chase says.

"Let's go!" Adam says. We all run towards the door, but they close.

"Not on my watch, laser brains!" Eddy says.

"Aw, shoot. We forgot about Davenport's creepy computer." Adam says.

"I thought it was just in the living room!" Leo says.

"Nope! I'm everywhere." Eddy says, appearing on every monitor in the lab.

"In my shower?!" Leo says.

"Yep. And by the way, nothing needs to be that clean sport-o." Eddy says.

"Okay, we need to shut that thing off," Leo says.

"Never gonna happen, okay?" Chase says. "Eddy is an incredibly complex and sophisticated piece of machinery. It would take years before..."

Chase was cut off when Adam rips the wires out of Eddy's computer system and shuts him down. "Ahh! Sweet! I barely got electrocuted!" Adam says, handing the wires to Chase.

"Okay, come on. If we're gonna go to school, we should shower first. Because two of us really stink." Bree says, looking at Adam and Chase. The boys sniffed themselves and cringed. We get into our capsules and start taking our showers. We were wearing goggles and our mission suits as soap and water sprayed all over us. Once we finished and dried ourselves off, we changed out of our uniforms and into normal clothes. We step out of our capsules.

"Oh, great. You gave me your underwear by mistake." Adam says looking at Bree.

"Gross!" Bree exclaimed giving her brother a disgusted look.

"What are you complaining about? I got Cassie's bra." Chase says.

"Uh, guys, I think this shirt's a little too big," I say, wearing Adam's shirt that was too big for my small body. We walk back into our capsules.

~*~*~*~*~*~

When we walked into Leo's school, Adam, Bree, Chase, and I looked in amazement at the lockers and students standing in the hallway. "I can't believe we're actually at school. I am so excited!" Bree says. "Oh, my first lunch lady." Bree walked over to the lunch lady that was walking by and hugged her. Leo grabs Bree and pulls her away from the lunch lady.

"She smelled like fish sticks," Bree says.

"Do me a favor and try to act like you've seen the world," Leo says. "I have a reputation to uphold here." A football jock walks up to Leo and gives him a wedgie. "Ahh! Good to see you too, Steve!"

Two girls walk by Leo and Bree, but Bree jumps in front of them and holds out her hand. "Hi! I'm Bree! I like ponies and girl things." The two girls give Bree a weird look and walk away. Bree turns to look at Leo. "Did you see that? I have besties. I can't wait to stab them in the back!"

Over by the lockers, Adam was standing next to a pretty brown-haired girl who was having trouble opening her locker. "Here, little lady, let me help you out with that." Adam pulls off the locker with his super strength and hands it to the girl.

"Adam! Would you two quit goofing off? We're not supposed to draw attention to ourselves." Chase says.

"Wait, has anybody seen Cassie?" Bree asks. Leo, Bree, Adam, and Chase hear students cheering in the cafeteria. When they walk in, they see me arm wrestling a football player.

"Almost got it! Almost got it!" I say. I was able to win the arm wrestling match by slamming the football player's hand down on the table. "Oh, yeah! I won! Who won? That's right, me!" I say as the football jock hands me a $20 bill. Chase walks up to me and grabs me by the arm.

"Cassie, what are you doing?" Chase asks.

"I'm arm wrestling a football jock. I bet him $20." I say, holding out the cash.

"Look, I was just telling the others we can't be drawing attention to ourselves," Chase says. Just then, the school bell rang. He screams and covers his ears, dropping to the floor. Everyone in the hallway stops and looks at Chase as he runs around in circles on the floor.

"What's up with crazy?" Leo asks me.

"He has ultra-sensitive bionic hearing," I say.

"What was that?" Chase asks.

"It's called a bell. It rings every 40 minutes, eight times a day. So...have fun with that." Leo says. The four of us walk away from Chase and head to our classes.

~*~*~*~*~*~

In gym class, Leo, Adam, Bree, Chase, and I stand by the bleachers and watch the students play basketball. "I hate gym class," Leo says.

"Why?" Adam asks.

Leo catches a basketball, and he starts to dribble it. He yells in pain when the ball hits his foot, and it rolls away back onto the court. "That's why."

"So big deal...you can't play basketball. Chess club's where all the action's at." Chase says. Bree catches a basketball.

"What do I do?" She asks.

"Throw it," Leo says. Bree throws the basketball, but it hits a boy in the face, knocking him down. "To someone who's looking." Bree runs up to the boy.

"Wow! You caught that with your face!" She says.

"Just once I'd like to show these fools up and go NBA in their faces," Leo says, picking up another basketball.

"Then why don't you?" I ask.

"Look at me! There's more meat on a dog bone!" Leo says.

"Yeah, but now you have us to help you," Adam says.

"Huh?" Leo says as Adam turns him around and picks him up by his shorts. "Wait...what? No! These are my good drawers!" Adam throws Leo toward the basketball hoop, and he dunks the ball into the basket. He drops to the ground, and everyone stares at him in shock when he gets back up. The students start to clap for Leo.

"Yeah, I got mad skills! Yeah!" Leo says.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Back at the mansion, Tasha is making dinner when she sees Mr. Davenport running into the living room.

"Hey, honey," Tasha says. Mr. Davenport jumps onto the sofa and runs to the refrigerator. "Oh, okay. So we have kids living in the basement, and we walk on the furniture. Got it."

"The alarm in the lab went off, Eddy's been disabled, and the kids are gone." Mr. Davenport says. He presses a few buttons that were on a small digital pad on the refrigerator and Eddy appears on the screen.

"Those animals yanked my wires! And one of them manhandled my motherboard!" Eddy says.

"Where are the kids?!" Mr. Davenport asks.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Were you talking to me, or the wife you replaced me with?!" Eddy says. "You know, I might like a new pair of shoes, too!"

"Eddy!" Mr. Davenport shouts.

"Fine! They went to school with...Leo." Eddy sneers.

"No. No, no, no, no, no, no. They can't go to school...not with their glitches!" Mr. Davenport says.

"What...glitches?" Tasha asks.

"Because they're human, their emotions can trigger their bionics. If one of 'em gets a little nervous or upset or even a little bit too happy...they could take out everything from here to Tijuana." Mr. Davenport says.

"What?! You did not mention this on your profile." Tasha says.

"Come on!" Mr. Davenport says, leaving the house with Tasha.

~*~*~*~*~*~

"Attention, students! The pep rally is starting. Go, Dingoes!" A teacher says over the PA system in the school. In the gym, the cheerleaders were doing their cheer routine while Leo was signing basketballs.

"Here ya go, baby," Leo says, handing a girl back her ball after he was done signing it. Adam, Bree, and I walk into the gym. "You guys, rock! Ever since gym class, everyone wants to be my friend. And there's been a certain gentleness to my wedgies."

"It's the least we could do," Bree says. "You gave us our first taste of freedom."

"Yeah, and our first taste of Salisbury steak, uh, yum," Adam says, taking a bite out of his steak.

"Plus, I met these really cool girls in History class and we're going to hang out this weekend. Their names are Nikki, Haley, and Andi." I say.

"Hey, Cassie!" One of the girls waves me over by the bleachers.

"Oh, that's them over there. Catch you later, guys." I say, walking over to the bleachers. Chase enters the gym.

"Where were you?" Leo asks.

"Computer lab, taking med school courses. Guess who just became a chiropractor in the Philippines?" Chase says.

"Aw, look. The doggy likes me." Adam says when the school's dingo mascot walks up to him. "Okay, doggy, that's enough. Hey, I said that's enough!" Adam tries to run away from the mascot.

A boy with a swollen nose walks up to Bree. "Hey, I'm Kavin. Aren't you the girl that tried to make me eat a basketball in gym class?"

"Oh! You remembered!" Bree says.

"Hey, I'm warning you, dog, you're messin' with the wrong guy!" Adam says as the mascot chases after him.

"So, there's this party tonight. You wanna go?" Kavin asks Bree.

"A party? I've never been to one. I mean, yes, I have! My whole life's a party! You're invited. Wanna dance?" Bree stammers and dances awkwardly.

"No! It's my Salisbury steak!" Adam shouts as the mascot grabs onto his leg.

"Why are Adam's eyes turning red?" Leo asks Chase.

"Oh, no! His heat vision!" Chase shouts.

"His what?" Leo asks.

"It's a glitch. Whenever he gets too upset his heat vision acts up!" Chase says. Flames come out of Adam's eyes, and the dingo's head catches on fire. A student runs over to the mascot with a fire extinguisher and takes out the flames.

As the cheerleaders continued to cheer, the dingo ran over to them as a cheerleader is thrown into the air, and all of them ran away. Bree uses her super speed to catch the cheerleader.

"I got her! I got her!" Bree shouts. She reaches her hands out to catch the cheerleader, but she misses, and the girl falls to the ground with a hard thud. "Oh. Oops. Overshot it. But don't worry, I know a chiropractor in the Philippines."

"Are those your brothers and sister?" One of my new friends asked me as we watched the chaos that was happening on the gym floor. She had dark brown hair with a red streak in it and was about 15-years-old.

"Unfortunately," I say.

Out in the hallway, Tasha and Mr. Davenport arrive at the school. "I hope we're not too late." Mr. Davenport says.

"Do you smell smoke?" Tasha asks.

"We're too late." Mr. Davenport says.

I jumped when the fire alarm started blaring, and the students in the gym started running and screaming. "People. People. Statistics show that if we don't panic, at least 70% of us will make it out alive." Chase says, stopping the students from running. They keep running and screaming, almost knocking Chase over in the process. Adam, Bree, Chase, Leo, and I were the only ones in the gym except for the injured cheerleader and the mascot. Tasha and Mr. Davenport walk into the gym just as the head of the dingo mascot rolls in front of them.

"Oh, no! They killed Dewey Dingo!" Tasha says. Tasha and Mr. Davenport glared at us as we nervously smiled and waved at them.

"So...how was school?! Get in the helicopter!" Mr. Davenport shouts.

The five of us run out of the gym.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"Do you realize what you've done? I had to write a check to that school for 30 grand to make this go away." Mr. Davenport says as the five of us sit on the couch in the living room.

"For 30 grand, I'll go away," Leo says.

"We're sorry. We just wanted to be normal for a day." Bree says.

"Oh, come on, Donald, they're just kids," Tasha says. "When I was their age, me and Fiona Micklejohn, we snuck out and we crashed..." Tasha stops when she notices Mr. Davenport glaring at her. "You know what? I'm not helping." Tasha sits on the couch next to me.

"Look, I designed you guys to go on highly classified missions. Not try out for the cheerleading squad." Mr. Davenport says.

"Oh...well, there goes that dream," Adam says. I patted Adam on the shoulder.

"I arm wrestled one of the football jocks today and won!" I say. "See, he gave me $20 bucks." I show Mr. Davenport the money.

"I'll take that!" Mr. Davenport says, taking the money.

"Hey!" I say.

"Look, I know you're mad, Big D, but these guys performed the impossible today...they made me popular. I got game!" Leo says, getting up from the couch.

"And I cured male pattern baldness with a biology rat," Chase says, standing up.

"I met these really cool girls, and they asked me to hang out with them this weekend!" I say, also standing up.

"Ohh! And I got invited to my first party! By a boy!" Bree says, turning to Tasha.

"How exciting! We gotta get you clothes and shoes, and we'll do..." Tasha looked at Mr. Davenport, who was glaring at her again. "Again, not helping."

"That's it. Leo, you are banned from the lab. And you four are to have no contact with the outside world." Mr. Davenport says. "No talking, no texting, no nothing."

"But that's not fair!" I protested.

"Ohh! What about the last art of pantomime?" Adam says, getting up from the couch, and doing a mime impression.

"Go to your tubes!" Mr. Davenport shouts. We all get up and head down to the lab.

Down in the lab, the four of us sit alone in our mission suits. "So, do all the fuzzy animals have girls inside them, or just the dingoes?" Adam asks.

"If Mr. Davenport's such a great scientist, then how come I'm not a little stronger and you're not a lot smarter?" Chase asks.

"I don't know...but does this hurt?" Adam asks, punching Chase in the shoulder, making me laugh.

"Now I'm never gonna have a boyfriend. Guess I'll just keep fake kissing that wall." Bree says, making Adam, Chase, and I give her a strange look. "Oh, we've all done it!"

"Forget that! Because of Mr. Davenport, I won't be able to hang out with my friends this weekend. Now I'm not gonna be able to know what it's like to have a real group of girlfriends." I groaned.

Leo walks into the lab. "Leo, what are you doing? You're not allowed to be down here!" Chase says.

"I know. But you know that party everyone at school's been talking about? It's in your living room!" Leo says.

Down in the living room, Leo had invited everyone from school to our house, and they were all dancing, including the four of us. Leo was dancing on top of a table while I was dancing on the couch. "Do the Leo! Do the Leo! Do the Leo! Do the Leo! Now just the sexy people!" Leo hops off the table and walks up to us as everyone claps and cheers.

"Leo, I can't believe you did this!" Chase shouts over the music.

"Yeah. I owed you guys, and since you couldn't go, I brought the party here." Leo says. He holds up a bowl of cheese puffs. "Cheese curl?" Chase and I take a few pieces.

"What about your mom and Davenport?" Adam asks.

"They're at dinner. They'll be gone for hours." Leo says. He sees a kid putting his head in the microwave. "Jimmy, get your head out of there. It's a microwave."

Kavin walks up to Bree. "Kavin! Is that thing throbbing?" Bree says.

"Yeah and if it's not better by Monday, they're gonna drain it," Kavin says.

"Hey, Cassie!" One of the cool girls I met walks up to me with her two friends.

"Nikki, hey," I say.

"Cool house you got here," Nikki says.

"Thanks," I say.

"You're still on for Saturday?" Nikki asks.

"You know it!" I say. We join a group of people and start dancing.

Adam and Chase walk up to the dessert table. "Careful there, buddy. That piece of cake has approximately 47 grams of sugar." Chase says when he sees Adam trying to take a piece. "If you eat it, you'll be bouncing off the walls for hours."

"How do you know that?" Adam asks.

"'Cause I just had twelve pieces!" Chase shouts, grabbing a handful of cake with his hand and stuffing it into his mouth. "Whoo-hoo!" Adam does the same, and the two boys run over to the couch and start jumping on it. As the party continues, Tasha and Mr. Davenport walk into the house.

"What the..." Mr. Davenport shouts only to be cut off by the sound of a horn honking. Leo was driving a small car throughout the living room. The music stops and everyone stops dancing.

"Hey, you're back!" Leo gets out of the car and stands next to his mom and Mr. Davenport. "How did these people get here?!"

"You are in big trouble, mister," Tasha says.

"Hey, everybody! Thanks for coming. Get out!" Mr. Davenport shouts. Everyone runs out of the house. I tried to blend into the crowd and sneak out, but Mr. Davenport saw me and grabbed me by the arm. Once everyone was gone, Mr. Davenport looked at the five of us and crossed his arms. "You kids have really done it this time. And who gave Eddy cake?!" Mr. Davenport points at Eddy, who had a piece of cake smeared on the screen. Adam raises his hand.

"I just wanted them to have one more night of fun before you put them back in their display cases," Leo says, taking off his hat.

"Biologically regulated atmospheric chambers." Mr. Davenport says. "Look, the fun is over. As of tomorrow, you're all being relocated permanently."

"What?" The five of us say.

"What part of no contact with the outside world did you not understand?" Mr. Davenport asks.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"To one of my remote research facilities where you can complete your training." Mr. Davenport says.

"But this is home. This is where I get my meaty flavored pellets." Adam says.

"Not anymore. Now go downstairs and pack your stuff." Mr. Davenport says. The four of us head downstairs to the lab.

"This isn't fair. They're my best friends." Leo says, walking upstairs to his room.

"Donald, when are you going to realize that they're not just science projects? They're teenagers." Tasha says, before walking away.

"Any chance we can ship her off, too?" Eddy asks.

"No." Mr. Davenport says.

"Okay, just checking," Eddy says, before logging off.

Down in the lab, we were dressed in our pajamas and standing in our capsules.

"I can't believe this is our last night in the lab," Bree says.

"This lab is where we shared our memories. I can't imagine being anywhere else." I say.

"I think Leo's really gonna miss us," Chase says.

"Yeah, me too," Adam says. He looks down at Leo, who was sleeping next to his foot. "Think we should wake him up?"

"No, let him sleep," Bree says.

"But he's drooling on my socks," Adam says. We all close our capsule doors and go to sleep.
~*~*~*~*~*~~*~

A/N: Hello everyone! Welcome to Season 1 of Lab Rats! As you can see, I have created a new OC character named Cassie Davenport. She is Chase's younger twin sister. This new series I will be writing will follow very closely with each episode of Lab Rats. I am so excited for this because Lab Rats was my favorite show when it was coming out a few years ago and it still is. I'm not sure how many of you know about Lab Rats but it was a show that came out on Disney Channel and ran for four seasons. They also have a sequel series called Lab Rats: Elite Force! I was obsessed with this show and my favorite characters were Chase and Leo and a few others but I don't want to reveal too much in case of spoilers if you've never seen the show.

I will encourage you to watch Lab Rats if you haven't seen the show. Both Lab Rats and Lab Rats: Elite Force are on Disney+! They're awesome shows!

Anyways, this authors note is getting a little long but if you guys liked this chapter, please consider giving it a vote. Let me know what you think. Feedback is much appreciated. Thanks for reading!

Part 2 of Crush, Chop and Burn will be out soon!
