Matt's POV: After getting changed into my sweats, I smiled as I came back downstairs so that I could spend more time with our friends. After all, we were the hosts and the hosts needs to be downstairs with his guests while they are here. Looking at Gabby while I came down, I saw her smile at me and just nodded because I already knew that she was glad I was wearing sweats. As much as she says she's okay cuddling up to me in shorts, I know she prefers the comfort of my sweats underneath her when she's sitting in my lap (which I expect her to do after supper).

Walking over to the kitchen, I smiled when I saw Severide starting the pasta. "Thanks for starting the pasta." Turning to look at me, Severide smiled and agreed before grabbing me the beer he already took out. "Here, I already cleared it with Dawson. We can have one out on the porch while we grill." I agreed with him. "Wait, then who's going to watch the pasta?" That's when I heard Gabby speak up. "Do you trust me to watch the pasta?" Looking at her, I bit my lip. "Gabby, I'd rather not. You're still supposed to rest. And you're already going to laugh a lot."

Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I said that. She already knew what I was talking about. Her laughing will definitely raise her BP and that was not good right now. She was already well aware that I am very nervous when it comes to her recovery. She needs to rest because I don't want to have any complications in her recovery. "Gabby, just relax and let me take care of you. I already told you that was what I wanted you to do for a while." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I said that. "I know babe. I promise that I'm going to relax." I nodded, smiling at her.

"Ok, so  how are we doing this?" Kelly smiled at me. "You go work on the BBQ and make the shrimp and scallops." I agreed with her. "It shouldn't take me long." Kelly agreed with me and smiled. "Then why don't we just make the pasta? Then we can make the other stuff that doesn't take long while it soaks in the sauce." I agreed with him when he said that because that was a good idea. "Now, that's a good idea." Kelly laughed and agreed with me when I told him that. "Ok, so that's the plan. Now, the pasta is already in. Want to have a beer right now?"

I agreed with him and smiled when he asked me that before going to walk over to the fridge. Grabbing some of our beers, I went to give one to Severide and smiled. "Maybe we can do this instead of cigars. We both know that we are going to watch the kids while the girls are giving each other pedicures." Kelly agreed with me when I said that and just smiled at me. "Yeah." Turning to look at Gabby, I smiled at her because I knew that she already liked that idea. Turning to look at me, Gabby flashed me a smile and just went to push a strand of hair behind her ear.

"So, how has the early days of fatherhood been for you?" Kelly smiled when I asked him that. "I love it so far. It's amazing to tell you the truth and I'm so glad that we had Andy when we did. Sure, it wasn't exactly expected...but it's a dream come true to tell you the truth." I agreed with him when he told me that and just smiled at him. "How do you feel about the fact that you have to wake up in the middle of the night?" Kelly groaned when I asked him that. "Don't get me wrong, I love the little guy but...that has to be the part I hate the most about having a baby."

I agreed with him when he told me that. "That, and the lack of a sex life." Kelly groaned when I told him that. "Tell me about it." I smirked. "I can't really say that's the case for me and Gabby." Turning to look at me, Gabby just went to yell. "MATTHEW!" Turning to look at her, I glared. "Oh, you can talk to Stella about it, but not me?" Gabby was about to say something when she knows for a fact that she does talk about our sex life with Stella. That was a fact that she can't argue about. "I mean, it's not like you can truly argue with that." Gabby agreed with me and smiled.

"Okay but listen, you just concentrate on the food okay? Or do you want to feed Sofia when she needs to eat?" I smiled when Gabby asked me that. "Oh, I'm definitely going to be feeding my baby girl when she needs to eat. I love feeding her." Kelly agreed with me when I said that and smiled. "God, I have done it a few times with Andy and I can say that is always a lot of fun. However, I can't say that changing diapers has been very easy. He has wrecked a couple shirts of mine." I nodded and agreed with Kelly when he told me that, well aware of that since I got it.

"It's actually why I wear sweats. Honestly, she can just ruin clothes so easily. I swear, that's a lil' weird considering girls absolutely love clothes." Kelly laughed when I said that and agreed with me. "Yeah, that makes a lot of sense to tell you the truth. How in the world can girls ruin their dad's clothes so easily?" I nodded and agreed with Kelly when he told me that. I then proceeded to turn my head and just look at Gabby. "You need anything Gabby?" Turning her head, Gabby smiled when I asked her that. "I'm fine Matt. Just concentrate on supper ok?" I agreed, smiling.

After spending the past 30 minutes making supper together, I smiled as me and Severide were now just letting it thicken. It took a while to do that so, we decided to do the dishes. Well, I did. Kelly was just sitting at the bar and relaxing. After all, he was the guest and I was the host. "So, you talk to Boden recently?" Kelly smiled when I asked him that. "Yeah, he told me that he's going to make me acting Captain of our shift until you're back." I smiled and agreed with him when he said that. "You like the idea of being a captain?" Kelly agreed with me and smiled.

"Need to figure out how I  can become one. I would love to become a Captain." I agreed with him and smiled. "Honestly, I'm shocked that you aren't a captain yet. I mean, you're good friends with Grissom for crying out loud." Kelly agreed with me when I said that. "Yeah, I'm not sure that he's going to just do it for me. I think that'll be just a bit too much. He needs to be impartial and can't really do that type of stuff." I agreed with him when he told me that. "Honestly, I'm just glad that I can keep my rank at OFI. That's what I was told. So basically, I'm equal to van Meter."

Kelly agreed with me when I said that and smiled. "Just to let you know, Lt. Seager is a great ressource. Great person to do investigations with, a lot of experience. Career OFI, she didn't just transfer there after being a firefighter." I agreed with him when he told me that. "I'll take note of that." I then turned to look at Gabby. "However, I have my own ressource. Gabby is going to help me I bet. Maybe I can work from home." Kelly agreed with me when I said that. "Honestly, I'd like that too. But, I'm going to have to go to the firehouse...not that I'm really complaining."

I agreed with him when he told me that. "I'll have to talk to Boden about it. If not, I'll just suck it up and go work at the office." Kelly agreed with me and smiled when I told him that. "Yeah, that sounds great. Now, we having anything on the side?" I shook my head. "Honestly, this is going to be more than enough. It's a lot of food after all." Kelly agreed with me when I told him that and just nodded because we both knew that was the truth. "Yeah, that makes sense. Now, how about we check on this? I'm sure it's almost done." I smiled and agreed with him.

Going to check on the pasta, we both went to go check as to whether the pasta was ready so that we could feed our girls.
