Chapter 22 [final]

D-DAY

The day is here, in about an hour or so you will be Mrs Park Yoona, a married woman.

You were nervous, not because of getting married to Jimin, it was probably the best decision you've ever made. What actually made you anxious was the life after marriage, away from your parents' shade.

You will have your own household where you will be the one making decisions and judgments. No one to tell you what's right or wrong, no one to guide you, it would be just you against the whole world. The thought of having Jimin by your side made you feel better but the anxious feeling didn't really die down.

There you sat in front of a big mirror, in your wedding attire with bridal jewellery and makeup concealing the uneasiness you felt.

"You look gorgeous bae!" Taehee exclaimed as she entered the room with Yoongi, Hoseok and Jungkook.

"You look pretty," Yoongi said in the bluntest way possible.

"I think you should work on your tone and voice modulation" you commented.

"And do what? Become a radio jockey?" He said in his usual tired and hoarse voice.

"You've grown so much!" Hoseok said while being all enthusiastic and eager.

"I agree," Jungkook said in a very serious tone.

"Seriously? You are younger than me" you replied sarcastically causing Jungkook to question his life decisions.

"I think the emotional guys in here will end up shedding some tears," Yoongi said as he patted Hoseok's and Jungkook's shoulders. Hoseok gave him a judgemental look.

"You know, Yoongi hyung was spying on you and Jimin when you first moved in with Jimin in exchange for a massaging chair" Hoseok was just being a snitch now.

"I can explain-" Yoongi said.

"So, that's why you visited us so often?! For a massaging chair?" You asked with big eyes.

"I think we should go get seated and engage the guests," Yoongi said to escape the situation and left the room.

"You can't engage the guests hyung, you are already married!" Jungkook said and started laughing all alone, causing an awkward silence spread through the room. "Did you get it? As in you are married so- wait why am I cracking jokes like Jin hyung? Am I ageing? Are these the signs of ageing?" Jungkook continued to question.

On the other hand, Jimin was restless. He kept looking at the clock every two seconds. He wasn't nervous not even a bit, he was excited and overjoyed, the day was finally here.

"The time is passing too slow?" Namjoon asked.

"Way too slow" he exaggerated.

"Why don't you go see her once if you are that excited to see her in her dress?" Jin asked.

"She wanted it to be a surprise, I don't want to spoil it for her," he said in a soft caring tone.

"Wow!" Jin said in disbelief.

"What?" Jimin questioned, confused by the elder male's reaction.

"No it's just that, you are so cautious, thoughtful and affectionate when it comes to Yoona, I wish you were this considerate about me" Jin explained.

"I've always been considerate"

"Yeah towards Yoona," Namjoon said taking Jin's side.

"You too hyung? I'm always obedient and polite towards you guys" Jimin defended.

"Oh, is it so? I'd like to remind you of the coffee incident" Jin said

"Oh my God! it happened before you got married, get over it already!"

"What coffee incident?" Namjoon asked with a clueless expression inscribed on his face.

"Let me tell you, I and Jimin were working at home in the evening after a tiring day at work, this guy suddenly asked sweetly 'hyung-nim* do you want coffee?' I was more than just happy with the offer, so I gladly said yes"

*[Adding 'nim' as a suffix to hyung (older brother said by a male) makes it more respectful]

"Guess what he said. He said, 'then get me some too' in the most nonchalant way possible, " Jin said as he threw a fit about something so small, making Namjoon throw his head back laughing, his laugh contagious enough to make the other men laugh out loud.

"I'm so sorry to interrupt your little bro moment but the ceremony is about to begin and I guess we should take our places," Jiyeon said as she entered the room.

Namjoon wished the groom luck one last time and Jin just spaced out while blankly staring at his wife.

"Is something wrong oppa?" Jiyeon asked while getting self-conscious.

"Beautiful, you look very beautiful honey" he said in a lovesick voice making Jiyeon blush, Namjoon nudged him and the others cringe.

Jungkook stood near the door with folded arms, throwing a disgusted gaze at the couple "Flirt later, hurry up for now!" He said as he gestured them to hurry, he then made a fist and said, "Good Luck Jimin hyung!"

-

About years back, Yoongi made a promise to Jimin. He promised he will host Jimin's wedding, no matter when it will happen.
But only if it's with his sister. Yoongi stood at the podium and looked at the chattering crowd with a sense of pride. He was a hypocrite when it came to Yoona and Jimin, he would act irritated by their lovey-dovey behaviour but then he undoubtedly has been the one who always supported their relationship unconditionally.

Yoongi cleared his throat, grabbing the crowd's attention. "Good morning ladies and gentlemen! We are gathered together on this day to witness and celebrate the marriage of Mr. Park Jimin and Miss Min Yoona. We come together today, not to mark the beginning of a new relationship, but to acknowledge and strengthen a bond that already exists."

"This wedding wouldn't have been possible without you people, who have taken time out of their daily lives to celebrate the union of this couple. You either watched them grow up, you went to school with them, or you worked with them. Because you are the ones who have supported them and known them so well, it is only reasonable that you are the ones who share this once-in-a-lifetime moment with them" he said causing a roar of applause echo through the hall.

"Before any further ado, let the ceremony began. Here comes the groom," he declared, causing all the heads in the room to look at the handsome figure.

Jimin wore a black tuxedo that has been carefully designed with the most high quality and expensive materials in the country.

Inside the crowd, some people waved at him, some gossiped about how handsome he looked, some looked at him with pride while some with tear-filled eyes.

On the inside, he felt the urge to turn back. Turn back his head and take a sneak peak to see if Yoona was there. He addressed the guests by passing them a warm smile and bowing politely.

Then the flower girls entered, both dressed in cute white gowns. One of them was Jieun, Seokjin and Jiyeon's daughter. As she walked down the aisle she waved at Jimin excitedly, making everyone melt.

Then came the best man, maid of honor, groomsmen and the bridesmaids. As they entered, it all suddenly felt real-er. It was actually happening. Before Jimin could address those feeling, let out a satisfied sigh and maybe some tears of happiness.

You nervously took your first step into the hall, you held onto your father tighter, your eyes still looking at the floor. You could feel the piercing gaze of the people who were looking at you. You gulped and gathered enough courage to look up, your eyes meet Jimin's.

Jimin's eyes filled with love and warmth as he saw the love of his life, his bride walk down the aisle. One hand linked around her father and the other clutching onto beautiful flowers which were nothing compared to her ethereal beauty. With a elegant piano piece subtly playing in the background, he felt as if all his dreams were coming true.

He always thought the walk down the aisle was overrated but at this moment he felt as if he was the happiest person alive. For a person so delicate and loving as Jimin, the genuine smile spread across her face was enough to give rise to a stir of emotions in his stomach, she was happy and that's all he ever wanted.

His eyes could only see her, the money spent on the rather expensive wedding dress went in vain as never did he even spear a glance to the beautiful dress that was adorned with intricate designs. How could he have when he couldn't take his eyes off hers.

Her father hugged him tight and mumbled some wishes and finally gave the hand of his adored daughter in Jimin's. You let out a sigh of relief which made him chuckle.

"Nervous?" He mumbled, and you just let out a chuckle while nodding your head.

"Don't be" he said as he softly kissed your hand, sparking a positive reaction across the crowd.

Jimin paid all his undivided attention to the priest and the words that flowed from his mouth. Jimin wanted to welcome every single fortune and misfortune that were to come up in this path called marriage.

Then came the highlight...

"Do you Park Jimin, take Min Yoona to be your lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death does you part?"

"I do" Jimin said, with butterflies in his stomach and a wide smile across his face.

"Do you Min Yoona, take Park Jimin to be your lawful wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death does you part?"

You smiled like an idiot and replied, "I do" causing a loud wave of applause to break in the hall.

During this lovely moment between You and Jimin, you heard a loud sob behind you causing both of you to turn to look at someone who was bawling his eyes out more than your parents, Yoongi.

Taehee was covering her mouth and laughing silently at her emotional husband.
Hoseok passed him his handkerchief to him and lowly mumbled, "you are the real emotional guy " and patted his back to comfort him.

But it wasn't really Yoongi's fault, for some people love is just a pass time or just a game but for this couple, it's been a struggle where the ill-fate won't let them be happy together. This moment meant a lot, it was not just a wedding ceremony, it was this couple fighting and conquering their ill-fate and showing what love can do.

Love gave Jimin hope when he was in depths of despair, Love gave Yoona a new life and hopes that everything will be fine.

"Having pledged their fidelity to one another, to love, honor and cherish one another in the presence of this gathering and by the authority vested in me by the constitution and the laws of this state, it is my honor to now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!"

Jimin took a step towards you. He passed you the warmest smile as he looked at your nervous facial expressions. He looked around, all the eager eyes and camera lens staring back at him. Yoona's words play in his head.

"The aisle sounds nerve-wracking but not more than the kiss. Imagine all those people and camera lenses staring at us. It's supposed to be our moment right?"

He smoothly grabbed your veil and gently tugged on it. He pulled it and covered your faces, the veil assisting as a drape between the people and you both. You looked up at him with questioning eyes.

"It is our moment" he whispered as his other hand glided up the side of your neck and wrapped around it, his thumb rested on your cheek, lovingly caressing it.

You closed your eyes as he leaned forward and pressed his lips against yours, causing the whole crowd to cheer for the couple with a huge round of applause. With a light cough from the priest as your signal that it was enough, you moved away from each other.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my honor to be the first to introduce you to, Mr. and Mrs. Park"

"Congrats Mrs Park," Jimin said with a proud smile. You couldn't help but smile from ear to ear. Gosh, you were in fact married now! A sudden nervous excitement fills you up.

-

Later you found yourself in the reception hall, in a lighter reception dress. The highlight of the day was here, the reception.

First of all, Jimin gifted your mother a wooden geese which was a part of the tradition. Wild geese mate for life, so his gift is a promise that he will care for her daughter for life.

Next came the speeches,

First was the best man, Hoseok's turn.

"Park Jimin was my high school junior when I first met him, now seeing him get married, warms up my heart. As a person who isn't old enough to give you advice, I just want to say, two people as perfect for each other as you guys shouldn't worry about anything as long as you have each other by your side"

Next was the maid of honor, your old friend who was still in contact, Kang Namjoo

"So, Mrs Park" She teased, "No surprise you got married to Jimin, I literally predicted it years ago. You still owe me 10 bucks" she continued playfully.

"But on a more serious note, you've been with each other through thick and thin. Through times in which I can't imagine myself in. But, when I see your hands that are still clutched onto each other my faith on real love strengthens. Have a happy married life, you guys"

Next was Jimin's Dad,

"Yoona-ya I would love to welcome you to our family but you have been a part of it for a very long time already so I don't see the need. I hope both of you celebrate each other and your love for ages to come. " Jimin's dad said,

"Son, you've never really disappointed me in any stage of life, you achieved everything we wanted you to and I believe you'll just keep on adding things to your list. But sometimes I feel guilty for the putting so much pressure on you in the early stages to do well, you took it the right way and paved a path for yourself but I'm really sorry son, I really mean it" he continued.

Mistakes are mistakes no matter who makes it, apologising is also identical. But it takes ages and multiple failed relationships of all kind to realize the significance of apologising.

Next up was your Dad,

"I can't believe my princess has grown up so much, it almost seems like yesterday when my five-year-old daughter made me my very first father's day card for me with all the spellings wrong. I can't believe my annoying teenage daughter who would shut the door at my face is someone's wife today..." He said, making Yoongi shed some tears again. Your father looked at you and said,

"From now on your life will continue like this, as you grow up more and get tangled in your own responsibility but never give yourself and your happiness up. Because you may be Mrs Park now but you'll forever be daddy's little princess" you weren't always the emotional person but you just couldn't hold back your tears, the ambience was such many people felt the emotions get the best of them. Jimin rubbed your shoulder and pulled you close to him.

"To the newlyweds" Jimin's mother raised her glass for a toast.

"To the newlyweds" the crowd repeated followed with the clinks of glasses.

The party continued as your mothers sang an old song about love and affection which the old folks definitely loved. The sight of the hall filled with so much happiness made you feel full. The band went back to play classic poise musical pieces as the crowd calmed down.

And that was Yoona's forced love story.
