Chapter 19

Later that day in the evening, Yoongi and Hoseok were there to get you discharged, they signed all the papers and dealt with all the formalities. You were waiting for them on the couch of your room, talking to the doctor.

You really wished for Jimin to be there, you felt like you were being a whiny baby but his absence just made to feel so empty. With all the memories flooding your brain, you had a lot to talk about. You felt like a middle schooler who was back from school, ready to tell her mom each and everything about the day.

Amnesia or memory loss is often categorised as something dramatic. But you and all the people who actually go through it can only wish it was as easy and simple as it was portrayed. It was tough and unbearable at times, the throbbing pain and the side effects of prescribed medicines. Amnesia doesn't just erase chunks of memories from the past, it also crushes the power to imagine a solid future.

It all made sense to you, at every stage through the shifting from one country to another and this marriage you just went with the flow because you were mentally incapable of making a judgment about the consequences of your decision.

Amnesia came as an ailment, but now that you think about it, it also helped you fall for Jimin all over again, understand and know him better. You almost tear up at the fact that your high school sweetheart Jimin has grown up to be this perfect man who stands tall and strong.

"You are all grown up already," Yoongi said as he snapped you back into your senses. He affectionately patted your head as he looked at you will an emotional expression written over his face resembling the one of a mother who is marrying off her daughter.

"Why do I feel you need a brain surgery too?" you ridiculed

"My small little tiny sister is already-" he was interrupted by Hoseok who was more than just surprised to see the older male in the verge of tears.

"Calm down hyung, don't worry Yoona he is just getting all emotional about how well you handled all of this, you know the memory loss, the surgery and all the other stuff"

You just nodded and gave your brother a big fat hug. You smiled to yourself, it almost felt unreal, the amount of love and affection you were getting from all these people around you. The thought alone made you wonder about the amount of anonymous hate you got through high school for being the way you were, often called names and accused of doing things you never even heard of.

You were just another miss perfect who was born with a silver spoon but you wanted to keep it that way, you didn't want people to know about your constant fear of not fitting in.

You were doing pretty good by yourself at being yourself but when Jimin helped you throw away the useless thoughts inside you and vent out about your personal problems, you felt being with someone else was better.

You enjoyed the rest of the car ride home in silence, just the two men talking about fishing and a faint radio playing latest hits. Your mind was preoccupied with bittersweet memories from the past, all that you and Jimin went through was too much and the fact that you were still together was overwhelming.

"We are here!" Hoseok exclaimed, you opened the door and stepped out expecting the elder males to do the same which they never did.

"You guys aren't coming?" You asked.

"Not today, you'll be fine without us" Hoseok replied

"He is right, so...we'll take a leave, get well soon," Yoongi said and before you knew it they drove away.

You grumpily moved towards the house, "how could they just leave a patient alone like this" you angrily mumbled to yourself as you punched in the passcode, the security system went off as the machine beeped and the door opened.

The sight in front of your eyes made your jaw drop to the floor, the whole house was lit with scented candles and was filled with rose petals, the living room was covered with polaroids and old pictures of you and Jimin together, each with a special message, stuck against the wall.

You recognized the polaroid from your first date at the amusement park, it was almost foreign for you to actually remember that day clearly, A variety of pictures from very different time periods that make you nostalgic about times where you were just a mere teenager in love. Your eyes caught another beautiful picture, the one in which you were smiling and posing to the camera while Jimin stood beside you, looking at you with a fond smile.

You read each and every message, each equally heart fluttering and cheesy. Your eyes caught a bouquet. You recognized them almost too quickly.

Lily of the valley

Your birth flower

You picked the gorgeous and elegant bouquet to admire them a little more, you gaze shifts to a small tag attached to the flowers that read 'thanks for being born' this tag was signed as "JM" just like every other picture and polaroid in the room.

You smiled to yourself, you were extremely touched by this surprise, you followed the petals in awe they lead you to the garden behind the house.

The garden was decorated with a variety of flowers and candles with a big heart in the centre of the garden made out of rose petals. You just looked around the place in awe. The rosy fragrance filled your soul and heart as you admired the beauty of the once dull modern balcony.

You almost jumped and shrieked as a pair of arms wrap around your waist from behind. "Hey" he whispered into your ear softly, which sent tingles down your spine.

"Oppa? Weren't you suppose you go on a business trip?"

"I was going to but then I forgot something important, so I never went"

"What?" You asked in a curious tone.

"Something really important," he said softly as he kissed your cheek. He turned your body making you face him. He stared deep into your eyes, "Yoona, let me put this in simple words. I can't imagine a future without you and I don't even want to, I want to cherish you, adore you and protect you till the very end of the world. So, I gathered all my courage today just to ask you this" he said and he took out a box from his pocket, he got on one knee and looked straight into your eyes.

"Min Yoona, Will you marry me?"

You still can't believe what you heard, the words reach your brain but you just can't function normally anymore, an internal chaos breaks inside the small brain of yours that lasts for a few seconds, you are hit by the fact that you sincerely love and respect this guy and after all, you both have been through so much just to end up together made your eyes well up, you nod vigorously, "I would love to" you said without hesitating. Jimin carefully slipped the ring onto your finger and affectionately kissed the back of your hand.

"So, now can I call you my fiancé?" He asked as got up on his feet and cupped your face.

"Sure," you said with a light chuckle. He suddenly encircled your waist with his arms and lifted you with your head slightly above his and looked into your eyes.

You supported your hands on his shoulders and stared back into his eyes. "I love you, Yoona" he declared.

"More than any man had ever loved his lover"

He delicately kissed you. His grip against your waist tightened as you softly twirled his hair around your fingers. Your lips perfectly morphing into each other's like lost pieces of a puzzle.

His lips softly moved against yours. You loved him and you didn't hesitate to express it, just like he didn't.You pulled away from each other with racing hearts, fastened breaths and foreheads still in touch.

A damned call from your dearest brother had interrupted your little moment, as soon as Jimin picked up the call he was bombarded with questions. Jimim had put the call on speaker so you had a good laugh.

"Bro, breathe," Jimin said with a light giggle.

"Answer me!"

"Yes, I proposed and she said yes"

"Omg! Congrats! You aren't the old coward anymore!"

"Why do I still feel you don't deserve her?" He added.

"I agree but I promise you that I'll cherish her forever"

"You know you'll be missing bones if you don't. Anyway I called to tell you to come over, our parents are here already"

"We'll be there," Jimin said and hung up.

"So, Mr. Park, you did all of this?" You asked, pointing at the rose decor. He back hugged you, his face in the crook of your neck. You two faced the view offered by the balcony, the evening sky dark enough to make the streetlights in a distance look as if stars had fallen to the ground. It was magical, you wanted to pause time and live at this moment forever.

"Yes, Youtube tutorials and quora helped. You know people called me a simp for planning this." He said with a pout.

"On Quora?" He hummed in response.

"But then if expressing my love and doing something that would make you happy, makes me a simp. I'm ready to be the simpiest simp out there"

"I'm so lucky to have you"

"Not more than me," he said as he pecked your cheek.

-

You were having a hearty dinner with your family, giggling and just simply enjoying each others company.

"So 15 days it is! It would take time to do all the preparations and stuff, so 15 days sound perfect. Omg, why am I so excited?" Your mother suggested.

"I know right!" Jimin's mother said as she looked at your mother.

"Also Jimin I have favour from you...you know, it's been years since we had our daughter to ourself and spent any quality time together. So for the next 15 days, we want Yoona to stay with us" Your father asked Jimin

"Jaehyuk-ah she is your daughter! Why bother with these strange formalities" Jimin's father said, that's when Jimin realised none of these men really cared about him. He was sincerely against this whole idea and was definitely not ready to sustain without you for 15 days.
