WEIGHT

I crave the weight of sadness
It's cold arms wrapped around me
In night's devious hours
Midnight blue
a child bereft of attachment
snatching incessantly at anything it can hold on to
It left me like a sunset
In slow enchantment, promising to return
And now I mourn it's fingers around my rough skin
Leaving behind an emptiness
a gaping, living hole
A cancerous growth, shaping me into an adult bereft of attachment
Snatching incessantly at anything I can hold on to
