"I-I...."you chuckle a bit unnervingly" What- what is this?" stretching out your arm you start waving it at the aura around you while still looking at the mirror. The smoke like atmosphere broke apart as you glided your hands through it but it soon formed again.

Taking your eyes from your image you spin around to Tynan who was surprisingly bowing a little and offering you his hand. Sometimes you noticed that he would wear gloves mostly because of the paralyse if he touched you but now... now they're gone and as you took his hand firmly and squeezed it, nothing happened. You just felt a slight chill run through you.

"What did you mean when you said that *you didn't do anything that wasn't present before the shapeshifter*?" gently pulling you closer the demon stared calmly into your eyes. " Tynan, did this happen to me when I first entered that world?" your gaze not faltering from his, you ask in all seriousness. All bashfulness aside, you didn't care that you were so close to him now, you wanted further details what was happening to you. Survival first, other....interests later.

Yelping a bit at the sudden movement of Tynan,  you once again stare at the mirror as he turned you back to it. Warm breath reaches your left ear as the entity whispers:

"Tell me~ What colour is surrounding me~?"

Squinting your eyes you stare at yours and Tynan's reflection. Your aura was as bright as day to you, meanwhile Tynan's..... Hmmm......

You could see faint hues of purple coming from him, the same you saw before too. But this time, they felt a bit.... stronger. As if the colour intensified. Yet again a slight chill ran through you and for one second, you thought you heard a slight breaking sound. Looking up and down the mirror you saw no cracks, what was that sound? 

Probably just your imagination.

"Why do I see your colour more brightly now?" you turn to him "Just, just tell me about the auras at least, you don't really say anything else so at least this, tell me" letting go of his hand you turn to the mirror yet again, eyes observing the colours flicker and twist.

"The black aura is yours~"

"And the purple is yours?" you swish your finger along the mirror.

"Correct~, but I must say, it's nothing compared to your black one in mass, clearly it's trying to fight the purple one~"

"Do all humans have black auras? No other colours?" if that were true it would be a bit grim, surely there were other colours.

Tynan narrows his eyes a bit, a smirk on his face " I can only see two colours coming from a human aura, the black part of their soul and the black colour of any creature from my world which attaches itself to you" chuckling a bit he puts his hand on his chin and stares at the mirror a bit longingly" I can't even see my aura~"

"Then how do you know if it's there or you even have one?" taken aback a bit you ask.

"All creatures I meet tell me I have a unique colour~ Adair can even see it, he once told me that he hasn't seen any other being have the same colour as mine, also" he extends an arm to you and nibs a bit of your pitch black aura" as soon as I saw your aura acting up I knew another colour is trying to take its place"

"Hmm....ok then why is my black aura trying to fight your purple one? Is it trying to consume it?....."fearing that statement you swat a bit at the purple hues as if shooing them away but in response you feel a bit fatigued and sleepy so you refrain from doing that.

"Perhaps~ maybe a bit of me is trying to take control but I am sure you have strong defences~" a low chuckle follows the last part as Tynan brings his left palm to his mouth and lets out a slight breath.

" Also I have forgotten to mention that I can see essence also, so that makes it three colours that I can see although with the essence colour it is a bit tricky~" unfolding his palm you see a tiny silver string, before you've seen them plenty of times, they guided you, teased you just like their master.

"Is this yours? I mean, demons have essence?" the tiny string floats around lazily in the air.

"We do not possess essence, humans and other living creatures do, that's why most creatures from my world love to eat you, for them it is like staring at a feast~" taking a few steps away from you he sits down near the table and takes out his pipe " I have told you this before that essence to you humans smells differently and to us, it also has different smells " exhaling a bit he looks straight at you with a somewhat mocking smile.

"What?" you narrow your eyes at his expression

"A few creatures I know described the smell of people"

"And? Do we smell sweet or something? Like candy?" trying to guess the smell of a human was a bit weird but you were curious.

"*chuckles* they said you are like fruit salads"

"........." 

A freaking fruit salad! You knew that some perfumes had fruit fragrance to them and most girls you knew smelled like they were fresh from a garden and such but come on, how do those creatures even know what fruit is considering where they reside????

" One said that " The aroma is soft, crisp and inviting" " he puts his right leg on the other as he sees you sit down on the floor, legs crossed.

" Well, do I smell like a fruit salad to you?" crossing your arms as well you fidget a bit as Tynan sees your irritation.

...........

"Do you want me to smell you?~" he starts laughing as you glare at him with cheeks slowly turning rosy.

"I think I've been near you enough for you to tell me how I sme- ah forget it!" this was ridiculous, discussing each others smell.

* Knock knock*

"Y/n? We're setting a barbecue, can you help prepare the meat?" your grandma's clear voice sounded behind the door.

"Yeah sure! I'll be downstairs in a minute!" standing up you quickly close the window so no flies or mosquitoes could get in, if they do then you'll  spend the entire night catching them. Heading for the door you abruptly stop and turn around to the demon still sitting calmly and make the "I'm watching you gesture" to which he responds:

"Till the next whiff Y/n~"

You stomp down the stairs as his melodic laughter follows you to the kitchen where your grandma waited.

*Time skip 20 minutes*

"Thank you dear for helping me, you know how much meat your dad and grandpa eat so preparing it takes some time" putting away the last meat slab she turns to you while wiping her hands on the apron.

"No problem, I need to clear my head a bit, by the way grandma?" you take a cup of tea to your lips and sip a bit, fresh mint tea, a bit too strong for your tastes but with a little honey it tasted so good.

"Yes dear? Something on your mind?" dishes clack as she washes them and puts them to drive on the side.

"I didn't get a good look until now but does grandpa grow flowers? I guessed that with all the animals it would be a bit hard seeing as they stomp on them but I also saw a few pots of different coloured flowers sitting outside on the terrasse" 

You had a small idea inside your head.

"In fact he does grow them but they're on the right side of the house in a small corner surrounded by thujas, there's a small pavement path leading to them, sometimes you could spot the cat laying there on its back enjoying the sun" letting out a chuckle she says.

"Do you think he would mind if I took one flower?" you stand up and bring the empty tea cup to your humming grandma who takes it and washes it right away.

"I don't think he'll mind, one flower won't give him a heart attack and besides..." she leans closer to you" I sometimes make small bouquets for our room and he always smiles when he sees them"

"Thanks grandma" hugging her you turn to the door and exit.  Soon the sun will set and you have to find one flower you have in mind. There's no guarantee that you'll find that colour but eh, it doesn't hurt to try. 

Hopping in your shoes you open the front door and practically fly past the stairs down, taking a right you see a bit further a small path just like grandma said. Walking to it you see a few bushes of bellflowers and some bees flying around collecting nectar. And just at the entrance of the path you see a ginger whitish tail swish past the bellflowers. 

"Ok mustn't get sidetracked chasing the cat" taking the path you follow it and see all sorts of flowers, some known some not. They bloomed beautifully and stood tall as if saying that they were really well taken care of which you sure agreed on. In a few seconds you're already in the spot where grandpa grows all the flowers and you get to work.

A good 10 minutes pass by as you pick the right flower. 

Surprisingly your grandpa grew black knight butterfly bushes. Even in small sizes these flowers attract butterflies like crazy. Before picking these you thought of what shade of purple you really want because there were other flowers which stood out as well. But in the end, after 3-4 butterflies landing on your head, thinking that you're a plant/flower, you chose this one. The name sounded royal too and these bushes could even grow to be 2 metres tall. Snipping one small branch with the tiny flowers you stand up and look to the sky. 10 minutes and it's almost dark, time to go back.

A yawn suddenly leaves your mouth and you cover it up with your hand as you climb the stairs to the house. Taking off your shoes in the corridor you head to the kitchen for a glass of water. Through the window you could see your family hanging out in the light of the barbecue, it looked like your dad was recreating some memory to your grandpa as the two laughed together. Meanwhile the ladies sat at the wooden table and were discussing something. Finishing the glass you go to your room upstairs, branch in your hand. Just as you place your foot on the final step you see shadow pass by with lighting speed and..... you fall.

*BANG*

"Ouch....." a faint cry escapes you as the fall sinks in your mind. For some reason the fall wasn't that hard as you expected. Your vision now clear you turn your head to the side and see Tynan under you.

"How?" confused you arch your eyebrows" Where did you come from?" 

"I heard the front door open so I thought it was you~ Didn't think you would fall down the stairs though~" snaking his arms around you he hugged you lightly.

Letting out a sigh of relief your head drops on his chest.

"Thanks for catching me.... I swear I saw a shadow on the last step, it must have tripped me." This position was a bit awkward but you must admit, it was kind of comfy. Nonetheless you wiggled free from his grasp and rolled to the side. He already on his feet dusted his pants and you searched the floor for the flower branch. To your disappointment you found it crushed on the floor where you two laid. Most of the petals fell off and the branch snapped in two. Just your luck....

"Is that flower important in some way?~" gently taking it from your hands he observes the said flower.

"*sigh* well it was....oh wait!" grabbing his arm, the flower falls to the floor" Come with me! I wanna show you something" 

"Lead the way~"

And back at the small path you were, Tynan light up your surroundings a bit by releasing silver strings in the air, they acted like lanterns so to say. Approaching the butterfly bush you marvelled at it, the glow from the strings surrounding the flower looked mysterious and pretty. Turning to Tynan you cleared your throat a bit and said:

"Well since operation bring you tell the flower failed I decided that bringing YOU to the flower was good too" stepping to the side you let the demon observe the whole butterfly bush.  

What shocked you a bit was the confusion on his face. You don't get to see that often and that alone was a small victory in your head.

"Y/N, care to give me more details?" his confused voice made you giddy as you smiled.

"Well since you said you couldn't see your aura's colour and I think no one really showed you what Shade of purple it is, I just thought that this flower would be a great way to show you" plucking a small bud from the plant you show it to the demon " It's a deep purple, royal purple so to say, that's how I see your aura, also it this plant has a strong fragrance that attracts butterflies hence why the name is black night butterfly bush" saying the last part like a scholar you smile even wider.

His gaze softens as his one hand takes yours gently while the other takes the flower from your palm. He directs his eyes to the flower and soaks up the imagine of it then puts it in his pocket. You were happy that he liked the small gesture, maybe you even gave him a small detail about himself he longed to knew, who knows. Hand still in his you felt the smooth surface of it, his fingers moved to your palm and slightly tickled it making you laugh.

"We should get going, I bet my parents are about to check my room to see if I'm asleep"

"Hmm~"

This scenario reminded you of those films, books, mangas where couples shared cheesy moments together. But to you, this moment was sweet and damn anyone if they criticize it. Also, you'll have to part with him eventually, getting back your old life was best, chances of dying would lower and you wouldn't have to worry about the other world and how it wants to suck you in. Snapping back to reality you find that you both were climbing the stairs to the second floor. His broad back was in your view, looking down you saw his hand gripping yours, probably that you wouldn't fall down again.

Hello everybody! I'm back! Aaaagh thank you for being patient, this chapter took me a bit to write. Ever have those moments that you sit down, you're about to write but nothing happens? That, dear readers, happened to me so many times, but as they say, once you start writing you won't stop until you finish. Even though I had spring break from my uni, I feel tired.... anxiety is cornering me and exams are approaching, work is piling up as usual but enough with the excuses! I hope you'll enjoy this chapter and see ya later! ^^

Ah also I love reading your comments, some reactions I get are hilarious XD and people see some references to movies, animes, shows even thought I don't really think about them XD. Yet again, have an awesome day!
