22 ~ Battle Cont.

Nico's POV

Draco pulled his sword out, then he was thrown to the floor by his own shadow.

"DREEEWWW!!" Leo ran over to Drew and tripped halfway over. I ran towards her.

Malfoy was saying something to her as she was on her knees staring at her shirt as it turned from white to red.

She slowly raised her dagger, Draco didn't notice, he had turned around and was yelling for his mom to come see. Lesson One, never let Drew out of your sight.

"Malfoy," I heard her say weakly. He turned, and she stabbed him straight through the chest.

He gasped, and clawed at the knife in his chest. He screamed. Then he fell to the ground, dead, the handle of Drew's dagger cover in blood.

We knelt next to Drew.

She coughed, and blood ran out from her mouth. She wiped it with her hand and looked at it, "Yikes."

"The sword's poisoned," I said. staring at the sword, it had something black on it. Dark Magic obviously.

"You're going to be fine," Leo said, he was totally panicking now, "you always say you're going to be fine."

"Well," Drew said, "if I don't survive, I just want you to know..." She coughed again, "S-Sorry for being a jerk. F-For punching people, and being arrogant and all."

"No, you're going to be fine." But I knew very well she wasn't. Her life force was getting weaker, and ambrosia, nectar, and unicorn horn powder don't work on wizards.

"Oh gods," Clarisse was here now.

"We have to get her to Madam Pomfrey!" I yelled.

"No..." Drew gasped, "she's dead...Dumbledore too. Didn't...you see?" She tried giving us a you're-an-idiot look, but only managed to wince.

"You're gonna be fine," Leo muttered.

This time she succeeded in giving him a you're-an-idiot look, "Face it," she snapped. Then she coughed again, "I'm gonna die."

"No, you aren't," Leo said.

"Well," she said, "tell my mum I'm sorry. And tell Logan I'm...I'm sorry for...kicking that ball into his stomach, shoving him off...the cliff into the...snow, pushing him into...the lake, and—"

"Yeah yeah I'll tell him," Leo interrupted.

"Bloody hell," someone said. I turned and saw Ron and Ginny.

"Yeah, it's bloody all right," Drew muttered.

"Sorry Leo," she said, then she fell onto her side, and her heart stopped beating.

Harry's POV

Ron stomped over to me and Hermione with Ginny behind him.

"What's wrong?" Hermione asked.

"Drew," Ron snapped, "she's dead. I never even got to apologize for biasing her!" He kicked a rock angrily.

"And Malfoy's dead too. Draco Malfoy," Ginny added.

But I was too consumed with guilt, I remembered how I had sided with Ron about her being bad. Then she had died in a war against the people we had accused her friends of siding with.

The monsters were already down to 50, thanks to the demigods and the few wizards who decided to help.

I looked over at Drew on the ground. Leo and Nico were sitting on the ground. Nico was patting Leo's back awkwardly. Then another girl, Calypso I think, came over and starting talking to Leo. Clarisse was throwing a tantrum and killing the grass.

About 40 monsters suddenly formed a tight circle. Loud cackling could be heard.

All the wizards and witches got frightened looks and backed towards the castle.

I realized the person in the circle of monsters must be Voldemort.

Then they parted, revealing Voldemort's wide smile and a few Death Eaters.

"Harry Potter!" Voldemort yelled.

I came forward, Ron, Ginny, and Hermione behind me.

"Ahh," Voldemort gestured with his wand carelessly. "Harry Potter! You can duel me, but you would never win. All these monsters are immune to your spells!"

"Dude," Percy said, "what monsters?"

Voldemort's smile faded, he looked around and realized that all his monsters had been slaughtered to dust. All his Death Eaters had been knocked into unconsciousness too.

He faked confidence, "Er..."

"Expelliarmus!" I yelledVoldemort flew backwards into the grass.

He frowned at me and got up, "Avada Ke—"

"Expelliarmus!" a golden string of light connected our wands, and I summoned all my will.

Voldemort's eyes widened in fear, "No! NOOO!!" he cried.

Both the Disarming Spell and the Killing Curse shot him in the chest. And he crumbled to the ground. Then he turned into ash.

Nico picked over the mountain of unconscious Death Eaters and pointed his sword at some of them, and they dissolved. Probably the people who were supposed to be dead.

None of the demigods had died, thankfully, but I felt too guilty about Drew to be happy about that.

We won, but the price was greater than we ever wanted to pay.

THE END.
