He didn't like it.

Not even a bit.

The thin line of blood at the corner of his mouth made him grimace in disgust.

What a revelation it was.

The blood that he adored was enough to make him gag with utter revolt. One drag and he pulled back .

The blonde on his bed had her eyes shut in sheer ecasty, her tongue swiping her lower lip . Her leg trying to wrap around his torso, wanting him to crush her against his bare chest but—

In a blur, he was sitting on the edge of the bed. The white sheets wrapped around her body. She didn't realize he had pull over. She was still in the middle of her trance . Writhing slightly on the bed.

His hands gripped the wooden edges of the bed nearly breaking it. The blood trickling in droplets from the corner of his mouth down to his chest.

The blood red color  seeping back to deep blue.

Troubled blue eyes.

He didn't even make it to sex.

His neck turned at the human again. . sprawled on his bed. .blonde locks spilling on his pillow. She was so ready. So ready to be taken by him , naked under the sheets—shit, he didn't even make it to unbuttoning his jeans . He had his jeans on because all of this felt. .off.

The revolt, the nausea, the repel. .

He didn't get any of it.

His mind was troubling him.

It was whispering to him . . whispering she didn't belong there.

His fangs didn't belong there.

The blonde moaned a little.

Absently, he pressed his thumb  on the corner of his mouth , swiping the blood off. .and then staring at his blood coated thumb. . wanting to wipe off all the damn blood . It just wasn't the right kind. It was citrusy.

Not clean enough.

Not pure enough.

". .and now this is the word we live in. This is our reality. Might as well accept it and get used to it, students."

Some agreed.

Some had a meh expression.

Others just seemed uncomfortable.

"But don't we all know what they are capable of, professor? What if they attack us first?" A red headed girl asked more curious then fearful.

Sarah watched as professor Lawrence pushed the glasses back up on his narrow nose.

"Elaborate, miss Ethan."

Everyone stared at her .

She seemed so confident with her eyes set only on the professor.

"Well for instance they can hypnotise us. Put us in trance . What if they forced us to. .I don't know. .sucide?"

She gave a dry chuckle in the end.

No one laughed.

Or smiled.

Just shifted on their chairs , restless.

Professor had a thoughtful expression on his face, his almost bald head glinting in the light.

"Remember class, every creature put on this planet has been blessed with a. .weakness. so does the vampires. They roam among us ,undetectable at night but. .," Professor looked from one grave face to another, " not in daylight. They can't survive it. "

"But that doesn't mean we have the upper hand just because they can't party at day." A student scoffed. " The speed, the glamour . .we are no match."

"Now now Mr Wilson , don't be so tragic. To answer your question. .yes. Everything that you said is true. The speed , the glamour. .but so is the stake. So is the sunlight. " Professor had a no nonsense look .

No one said anything.

Everyone was raptly listening to him, hanging on his every word.

He turned towards the whiteboard and wiped it off with the duster.

Then he wrote something.

The marker making swish swish noise.

As he stood to the side , everyone read the black words.

The Frenier Family

Professor was standing beside the board , his arms crossed against his chest.

"Can anyone tell me about this ," he pointed at the board.," Family"?

A hand shot up in the air.

"Yes , Mr Wilson?"

The ruddy faced guy answered with much enthusiasm. Almost feverish with excitement.

"The Frenier family is the ruling family of the bloodsu—vampires. It is said that they are the direct descendants of Count Dracula, Master of all vampires. No one knows who holds the title now. Is it a woman or a man? No one knows the ruler. Everyone working under the family is sworn to secrecy. Every human official that visits the blood castle  are forced to sign undisclosed documents. ."

Professor nodded in affirmation.

"Yes. They are secretive about their affairs unlike us loud humans. Now does anyone have a question?"

No one answered.

No one said anything until a hesitant hand went up in the air and everyone stared at the person. A little shocked because—

"Yes?" Professor said gently . It did baffle him that the silent girl of his class was about to ask a question.

She had never asked one.

Ever.

"Sir, aren't we being. . racist towards vampires? We judge them for who they are. What makes them. If they kill so do we. .," She said softly.

There was silence and then—

"I think she is right. Not all of them are as bad as the lousy literature portray them to be. Infact some of them are my good friends. I would say we are definitely being racists" The red headed girl shrugged .

Professor nodded more to himself then the class.

"I get your point. Racism is a disease. We humans like to take ourselves as the superiors brings when really. .one gunshot could kill us. What I want to say is. . .we definitely shouldn't judge them for their appearance. For who they are. But. .a vampire is a heightened being hence it is of utmost importance that we never let our guards down around them."

For centuries , humans have been made fool to believe that the werewolves transforms into a human shape.

It's the witches that transforms into werewolves.

In the 18th century, many of the werewolves were burned at stake causing an uproar but they weren't werewolves. They were witches refusing to reveal their faces to the public.

Witches love to play disguise. They live for trickery.

The origins of witches go back to the medivels time , legend says the seven sisters of the north had formed a legions of followers . Teaching them the darkest magic and—

"The library is about to get close."

The snotty voice of the librarian pulled her out of the flow.

Sarah glanced at the wall clock, the sky  was about to darken. It's not like vampires were waiting outside to attack her as soon as dakness fell. .she knew vampires and humans mingled everywhere. At malls. At clubs. At. .well everywhere. Except the educational institutions because vampires had different . .needs of education.

It was the fear in her that always made her rush to home. As early as she could.

After a few minutes, Sarah thanked the librarian, who was chewing on bubblegum. .she didn't acknowledge her thanks.

With a tight smile, she turned around . .her bag filled to the brim with books .

She would never admit to herself but half of the books were about vampires.

Pushing the heavy duty glass door of the library open, she stepped out. The weather out was . .normal. not too hot not too cold. She was glad she didn't wear her jacket today.

As she started to walk, her heart thudded against her chest.

Thud thud thud.

The anxiety creeping in on her like an ugly monster.

She was getting breathless.

Because. .

She knew she was being followed.

Everyday as soon as she stepped out of her house, a heavy set of eyes would fall on her. As if she was under constant radar.

Her moves were being tracked.

But whomever the person was, he didn't try to hurt her even once. If he wanted to, he could have hurt her since there had been so many chances where she had been utterly alone.

Like now.

She would look left and right.

Turn around.

Stop for a few seconds.

But still. .still she couldn't see anyone.

It was as if he was invisible.

At first she got scared because of all the rape stories she had read and heard about —but then she became used to it.

Him.

Used to him following her around.

Hell, she didn't even know if it was her or him.

With her head down, she kept on walking knowing very well she was being followed.

She had to get some cornflakes , some pasta , some sauces . Her grocery was drianing out and she had to refill . Hence she was moving towards the nearest mall.

Today she decided to put her fear past her and just. . go for it. If other humans could do it so could she. .

The wind was picking up, flying away her hair everywhere. The sky was turning gray.

Streetlights had turned on. People were moving swiftly , probably wanting to get done with today and head home.

She stepped on the pavement.

Her stalker too followed her suit.

Aggravating her anxiety , she tried hard to not let it get to her nerves. Her heart was already in overdrive. If only she was a vampire—

She stumbled on a stray rock with a soft yelp, going straight towards the pavement , her palms outstretched . .ready to protect her face but a strange thing happened.  A hand shot up and wrapped around her arm. . pulling her back to her feet.

Steadying her.

Gasping for breath and wanting to thank the stranger , her eyes fell on his face and she almost balked.

Him.

It was him.

His long fingers still wrapped around her arm as if he would never let go.

"Damien. .," She breathed .

He raised his eyebrows.

"Sarah. " He mocked .

And then she blurted out.

"Were you following me?"

The regret was instant. Damien kept looking at her, the cool grip on her arm reminding her of ice , ànd then he smiled . . .a cool smile.

She tried to hold her ground when suddenly he bent forward, so close he was so close. .her eyes widened.

"I have much better things to do then follow you around, don't you think?" He said in a low voice , his breath fanning across her face.

She blinked, embarrassment coloring her face . .the hold around her arm vanishing.

What must he think of her now? The girl he saved was accusing him of stalking now? The heat on her face deepened to the point where she felt like she had to leave . Go away from him.

Right now.

"Um I gotta go. " She said without looking at him.

"Where?"

His question puzzled her . She looked up at him , he was staring at her intently. .an unreadable glint in his eyes.  It was as if he expected her to answer. He wouldn't accept less than that.

She didn't find any harm into answering him.

He saved her didn't he?

"To the mall. For grocery. "

He nodded stiffly and then—

"Let's go then." He said it so casually so. . intimately like they shopped together everyday.

He even started to walk and two feet apart , he glanced back at her . .his eyebrows raising.

"Changed your mind have you?" He asked , more like mocked.

She didn't like that at all.

Did he take her for a chicken?

Who is going to quack at the slight chance of risk?

The challenge in his eyes was clear.

Dare to answer.

And without a word she stepped beside him.
