She didn't hear anything.

Not the abuses hurled her way.

Not the speeding cars honking.

Not the breaks being pulled back.

The passersby waved their hands in pure terror but Sarah had shut her eyes close. Bunching her hands into fists.

Waiting.

Waiting for a swift death to come over. Give her burning heart relief.

The clouds cackled again, splitting the sky into two. .thunder bellowing . . rolling around like a beast. The heavy downpour not slowing down at all.

Everyone seemed to be waiting in horror at the imminent death of the brown headed girl . Some turned their faces away. Some still yelling at her . But no one came her way . No one had the courage to get down to the road that had cars passing left and right.

And she thought—

So this is how she was going to die? She was going to be a car hit case? A gruesome death? Her blood would splat on the road—

She could hear a honking coming close and  closer with every breath she tool —this is it!

This was it..

Her eyes screwed shut, she waited for the blow. . for the pain. . the agony—but all she heard was a whoosh of air and a hard body colliding with hers —pulling her .

Snatching her from death.

She felt zapped.

Zapped from one place to another.

The warm body next to her blanketing her in safety , her hands clutched at the wet silk shirt not daring to open her eyes.

Everything had disappeared.

The yelling, the honking, the cry outs.

She never wanted to break away from the warm body. Never step away. The rain falling hard over her head and her saviour's .

For a moment nothing happened and then—

He gripped her shoulders and pulled her back!

Startled , she opened her eyes. . looking up at . .him.

His blue eyes had a rage she had never encountered before. The hair had gelled back due to the rain . .the droplets of rain slipped down his face . . down to his chest . .sticking his shirt to his hard chest..

"What the fuck is wrong with you!" His voice raised a few octaves , his fingers digging in her shoulders.

Sarah's heart flared up.

"You! You're what's wrong with me! You're everything that's wrong with me!" She yelled at his face. Breathing so hard. Not caring about anything at all.

And shaking with rage , he leaned in until the tip of his nose touched hers.

"No. You're what's wrong with us!! You ruined everything—"

"If I did then let me die! No one asked you to save me!! No one asked you to come! "

He growled , scaring her.

"What is this insanity Sarah? What is this fuckery? Are you listening to yourself?!! " He hissed through gritted teeth, barely holding with his sanity himself.

"Insanity?" Sarah laughed noticing how her heart had bloomed at him saying her name. " May be I like it! May be I like being insane now!!" She snapped , her eyes crazed.

A bitter smiled fell on his full lips.

"What? Couldn't tolerate even one day? Couldn't tolerate this even for one hour?" The humor on his face was dark.

Cruel.

Seeing his blue eyes flash so ruthlessly. .Sarah couldn't help but feel the punch in her gut.

"If I forced you to pass through a heartbreak...would you do the same to me, Damien? Would you let me pass through what you passed through? Would you let me pass through something like that? Knowing how it ends? Where it ends? "  She whispered, her brown eyes so open and vulnerable.

Damien kept looking in her eyes.

The rain falling around them.

But none of them could feel the cold seeping through.

Their hearts had warmed up . Their body fired up.

"I so want to tell you to get lost . I want to be as heartless as you had been with me . As doubtful as you had been but no. .no ,Sarah. I would give up my life before i could put you up through something like that. " His breath was coming slow. . fanning across her face. .his eyes dipping down to her lips and then back to her eyes.

Sarah lifted her hands desperately, cupping his face in her cold hands.

Tears slipped from her eyes. . falling on his cheeks for how close he was to her.

"Look at me. Listen to me . I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for leaving like that. I had no idea what your sister was up to. I-i. . thought it wouldn't be love if i made you choose between me and a whole mighty throne! If you were in my place what would you have done? Would you have made me choose Damien?"

"If I was in your place. .if I were you. . I would be sure of my worth. Of my love. I would never have left no matter if God descended from the heaven. How did— how could  you forget love isn't a one sided thing? If you do something . .it affects me. If affects my whole existence. How did you forget that Sarah? For me you were the only moon in my sky but I guess for you I was just another star in your sky. " His lips lifted in a heartbreaking smile.

Splitting her heart in two.

"Forgive me. .I beg you to forgive me. I can't function without you . .. i can't." She bit her bottom lip hard. Eyes red , face puffy.

Damien sighed . .

The fire in him dimming down.

Slowly.

His arms went around her waist in a loser manner. .her hands shifted from his face to his broad shoulders. .

"Sarah Darrow, you trampled all over my heart . Made me forget who I'm. Made me feel so worthless . .and yet. .and yet. .if you ask me to give my life . .I would give it up. Ask me to jump off a bridge and I would . .it's twisted .Love is twisted. " Damien said sounding tired. .all the the fight suddenly dying in him.

The happiness in her was so palpable , her hands were shaking so bad as Sarah buried her face in his neck. . breathing his familiar scent and not getting enough of him.

"Can you stop crying now? It's draining me. " He said softly, pulling her to his chest.

"I love you! I love you so much Damien!" She mumbled in his chest. .not believing her luck. Not believing that he was standing right next to her.

"Apparently not as much as I thought." Damien said sounding amused and Sarah pulled back immediately. A fire in her eyes.

"Your answer should have been you love me too!"

Damien laughed at her outburst, her eagerness . .his hand went from her waist to the back of her head. . cupping it.

"My answer is . .,"

Her eyes widened.

As his mouth covered hers in a searing kiss.

Sealing everything.
