By the end of the night she was in tears.

Happy, can't stop laughing tears.

Clutching at her stomach, she wheezed , her eyes begging him to stop.

Damien smiled at the way she snorted in between her laughs and then turned beet red.

All he could think was. .

His red apple. .

"I promise I'm not lying. I did bit his butt to draw blood because I was one hungry kid. Not a lovely place to bite but beggars can't be choosers right?" He continued this time Sarah didn't care about the embarrassing snorts.

It was unbelievable, really.

Thirty minutes back they had confessed their love for each other in the most casual way . .Sarah felt like she didn't even need to confess or hear him say the words. It was as if they knew from the very start. The seed of love planted the first time they crossed paths.

And. .

Who joked around after confessing?

Them apparently.

No hard emotional i can't believe you love me moment. No crying out. No tissues needed. Nothing said.

She felt the moment. .felt it down to her bones. . glad he didn't drag it out .

"I wanted to take you out on a date but guess my plan isn't the gods plans." He winked at her across the wooden table. " Consider this soup as my . . condolences."

Sarah glanced at her empty bowl of soup and leaned on the table, one of her hand cupping her face. .a heart warming smile on her face.

So homey so cozy. .

"Accepted and I wish I get condolences like this often from you. "

Damien crossed his arms , he looked illuminated in the white light and Sarah couldn't help but feel the first pang of nervousness creep in. Now that the food was consumed.

Now that the realization was hitting her that she was alone with him.

And his eyes wasn't helping either. . .

His eyes had that intense look that was giving her goosebumps.

"Sarah , believe me when I say this. You have nothing to fear from anyone or anything. I told you I'll be there for you . Don't walk around with your head down. It's time you look up. " Damien said slowly.

Sarah nodded. "I'll try."

One of his dark eyebrow rose. "Not try, my love. Act on it."

His endearing word forced her to drop her gaze from his face.

His love?

The thud thud of her heart drummed in his ear but he didn't say anything on it . Not wanting to further tightened her nerves.

She was one beautiful doe that seemed to get harassed quite easily.

More easily then he liked.

Chair scrapped against the floor and he stood up. His eyes not leaving her alone even for second.

Silence fell and she didn't dare break it. She blinked and he was  standing beside her chair, lifting his hand slightly. .for her to hold.

Like an offer.

She couldn't resist.

Her lips apart, she slipped her hand in his . .it was an automatic reaction. And Sarah thought. . nothing had ever been difficult with him. Never complicated.

It was so simple.

Like the stars in the sky.

The trees on earth.

They were just there because they belonged there.

But then again nothing was ever as simple as the stars in the sky, an inanimate object that could fall down the black hole anytime. .

—And Sarah's mouth moved before she could stop herself.

"How long till . .till this last Damien? How long till you feel like it's too much?"

The desperation in her eyes was as clear as the sunlight. Her eyes seeking surety.

His thumb lightly grazing the back of her hand, his eyes smouldering . . surrounding her . Forcing her to not look anywhere but him.

"I can talk about the sun and moon . Write a letter but I will collect everything in one sentence , Sarah.  And that is. .  till death do us apart. Till there is nothing but death separating us and—"

He couldn't talk because she had covered his mouth her hand.

"Don't talk about death so lightly." She whispered sullenly.

Damien smiled against her palm and then—kissed it.

Forcing her to snatch her hand as if it had burned.

He didn't let her breath.

Sarah backed up a little when he bent down  right to her height. .the beautiful blue eyes getting heavy with unspeakable feelings.

"I wish I could show you . All of you in me. I have so much of you in my heart. " Damien's voice turned husky.

"Show me." She breathed .

"What?"

"Your true form. . I want to see—meet the other side of you." Her grip on his hand tightened.

Damien smirked , his face so close . .a breath away.

"And what if . .my other side. .made you run for the hills?" His voice lit up with humor.

He saw her swallowing hard, trying to look brave.

"I won't. ."

Damien nodded .

"Alright then. If you say so. "

Sarah watched as he stood up straight . She would have gotten up from the chair but her legs were jammed not knowing what will happen the next minute.

The exhilaration too much.

Fascinated , she watched as Damien shut his eyes and then opened them up.

The slight gasp that left he mouth was uncontrollable. Anyone in her place would have done more than just a gasp.

Because. .his eyes were blood red!! Not just the irises but white of his eyes too!! The smile on his face was making him look even more. . intimidating. Predator like.

And then once again  his hand was right in front of her eyes .  Asking for her again. A challenge in those red eyes .

She could read his eyes.

Will you accept me Sarah? Will you?

It was as if  his whole world was depending on her answer. It was make or break kind of situation for him.

Sarah didn't hesitate.

She never doubted it for a second.

She slipped her hand in his outstretched palm and his long fingers wrapped around her hand in a possessive manner.

Gently, the word seemed strange with the red eyed devil, he pulled her right to her feet. Pulling her right to his hard chest.

One of his arms wounded around her delicate waist while the other held her hand.

Sarah's eyes was fixed on his full lips.

Not daring to go up.

"Look at me. In the eyes. You asked for it . Come on now, brave girl." He said softly . . ruefully.

Her brown eyes slid up to his straight nose and then up to this dark glaring red eyes and she almost dropped her gaze again—but he lifted her chin up.

Not letting her escape.

"Tell me do I scare you?"

His voice was smooth. Calm.

"A-a little. I just haven't seen eyes that. . dark." Sarah's voice had a slight tremor.

"Don't be. Not even a little. The color of my eyes don't define who I am and what I feel for you. It's a part of me . Not all of me."
