「TWO」

Lucas jumped up from his seat, wrapping his arms around the vampire, and started sobbing. Hendery smiled slightly, and put down the money on the table, leading Lucas out of the bar.

"Hey, Xuxi, why are you crying?" he asked, gently ruffling the giant's hair. Hendery's voice was so gentle it made Lucas sob even more, and Hendery stood there awkwardly, letting someone much taller than him sob into his chest. Hendery smiled slightly, then led Lucas over to a park bench, sitting down together.

"Xuxi, everything's gonna be alright, I'm here..." Hendery cupped Lucas's face, kissing his cheek. "Hey, stop crying or I'll kiss you. That's a threat." Lucas stared at him, more shocked than anything, and Hendery laughed, reaching over and pushed Lucas's chin upwards, closing his gaped open mouth.

"Why so shocked, Wong Yukhei?" he asked, teasing Lucas. "No-nothing. How are you even alive-" Hendery shrugged. "I don't know, someone pulled me back. A voice, actually. The voice told me to come back for him, so I did."

"No- Like- how-" Hendery frowned. "There was a bird, it was glowing and burning in the darkness, and it waited for me, so I followed it. It led me to a door, and I stepped through, and woke up. The bird, it was a phoenix, I think?" Lucas furrowed his eyebrows, staring at Hendery. "This is burning up my brain cells-" "Yeah, I know. I haven't even seen dad and pa yet, I wanna go but well, I just walked all the way from the countryside to near your house, if I have to walk more I'm going to murder someone."

Lucas let out a laugh, and got up, bending down a little. "Get on, I'll give you a piggyback ride home." Hendery stared at him for a while, not knowing whether he was serious or not, then got on, and Lucas carried him like he weighed nothing, and he could barely contain the huge smile on his face as he carried the prince.

"Wait- what did the voice say?" Lucas asked, sweating a bit. "The guy who the voice belonged to told me he loved me, and then asked me to come back to life for him."

Lucas paled, stopping in his tracks. "And- and how did you react??" Hendery smiled, hugging Lucas tighter. "Well I came back for him, didn't I?" Actually, Hendery had left out a lot of details about what happened after he came back to life.

Like how he had to heal every broken bone in his body, and how he had to mend his flesh agonizingly slow to not bleed all over the place, and how he pulled all those needles stuck in him out. Lucas's face had gone pink, and he was thankful Hendery couldn't see him, and smiled to himself as the vampire's breathing steadied, and he realized the prince had fallen asleep on his back.

After a while, he reached Hendery's house, and tapped on the door. "TAEYONG!" he yelled, his voice happy. "JAEHYUN, COME OUT!" Taeyong's cracked, broken and teary voice came as a reply. "GO AWAY!" Lucas rolled his eyes, and made sure Hendery was still asleep.

"ITS HENDERY!" he yelled, and a while later, the door opened, and Taeyong stood there, Jaehyun behind him, the two of them looking absolutely messy, with their bloodshot eyes and dark eye circles, the wrinkles clear on their faces.

"What do you mean it's-" Taeyong broke off, staring at Hendery who was sleeping on Lucas's back, the prince's chest rising and falling.

Jaehyun's eyes widened, and Lucas tapped Hendery's hand, the vampire jolting up, and stared at his parents. Lucas let Guan Heng slide off his back, and watched as the two adults sob with happiness and nearly crush Hendery in hugs. The prince hugged his parents back, not even bothering to hold back his sobs.

Xuxi watched the wholesome scene unfold in front of him, and grinned to himself, but couldn't help but worry. In his little speech to beg Hendery to come back, he mentioned consequences. Because he knew, like the monkey's paw, everything had a consequence. He couldn't help but wonder what the consequence for this was, and who would bear it.

He didn't want to think about that, so instead he smiled as Taeyong ran off to cook for his son, with Jaehyun helping. He hadn't seen those two so happy ever since Hendery.. Died? Hendery was sitting on the couch, hugging a pillow as he took out a piece of paper from his pocket.

Hendery held it out towards Lucas, and the giant flushed, recognizing it. "Thank you for leaving me this, Xuxi." Hendery grinned, and glanced at the letter's contents again.

Lucas's face went even redder when he thought of his love confession he put in there. "Quite romantic, great to give to whoever it is you're in love with, I checked it for you, so go on and give it to him, I think whoever gets it will be extremely happy." Lucas stared at Hendery, then wondered whether he should be shocked at how dense Hendery was, or should he be happy and take the letter. 'I want to confess properly.' he silently thought to himself, and took the letter back.

Hendery pulled Lucas down next to him, and cuddled with the giant, closing his eyes, looking adorable as he puffed out his cheeks. "Hendery- distance-" Lucas wanted to mentally slap himself for saying that.

"Distance? What do you mean distance? You always clung on to me before, and didn't you break up with Jungwoo?"

Lucas stared at Hendery, wondering how dense this vampire could be.

"Dejun, remember?"

Hendery stared right back blankly.

"Who?"

DAMN I AM SO FRIKING EVIL AT THIS POINT-
