「TWENTY THREE」

Ten stormed into Hendery's changing room, finding the vampire talking to himself. "Yeah, I know. If he yields I won't kill him, if you want to kill someone that bad just wait, we have around 20 or so royals to deal with." "Your friend is listening."

Hendery turned around, sighing as he looked at Ten. "Hi hyung, what can I do for you?" "Don't tell me what Johnny's telling me is true. Don't tell me you actually made a deal with the devil." Hendery shrugged, his eyes turning black again. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't."

Ten grabbed him, barely able to contain his fury. "YOU MADE A PACT WITH THE DEVIL, FOR WHAT? IT COULD GO HORRIBLY WRONG AND-"

Hendery brushed his hands off. "And kill me when I've died once already. What other choice do I have? Dejun just woke up today, and the royals are going to attack them again, I know it. I'm not fucking strong enough to defeat them on my own, I need help and I'm not dragging any more innocent people into this, Ten. I'm a cold-blooded monster, and my life means nothing to me. The only people who I care about have all been involved in this shit, you, Johnny, my parents, I'm not dragging you in even deeper. This ends with me."

Ten stared at him, furious but left with no comeback. "I made a deal and I know the price I'll pay. It's not death and it's quite easy, and it's a tiny price to pay if I get to save Dejun and Xuxi-" "What's the price." Hendery bit his lip, looking away. "What is the fucking price, Hendery." "He wants fun as well, and I agreed that he could fight when I did and he could have my soul when I die." "He wants your WHAT?"

Hendery was about to speak, but the voice cut him off.

"You've got nice friends, princeling. But I wouldn't know, I've never had any friends, have I. No one wants to be close to the devil. And calm down, his soul is just when he dies to keep me company, a friend."

Johnny stepped in, glaring at Hendery."And by a friend you mean he won't be able to die and he'll be forced to spend eternity with you, and your exact words were probably his soul will belong to you and by that you mean you'll get to do whatever you want with him, and I've heard you don't only want a friend, you want a bride." The devil inside Hendery laughed, walking closer to Johnny.

"This princeling here isn't my type, don't you worry. His soul is a small price to play for all I can give him. I could ask for his life and his body, or even more, and he'd still say yes, would you like me to up the price? I could, anytime, and this boy right here would agree no matter what I asked for from him as long as what I want is his." Johnny was at a loss for words, because he knew the devil was right. Hendery would do anything, absolutely anything to save his boyfriends. "So stay out of my way or I will up the price. And if the price is to have him kill you, trust me, he'll do it."

Hendery's eyes returned to normal, and the prince gasped, as if escaping from a daze."I trust you had a nice conversation, now, dinner is on me!" Hendery cheered, putting his shirt back on.

"Right. Nice conversation." Ten muttered under his breath, and walked out with Johnny."Why would the Devil want Hendery?" the human hissed, making Johnny sigh. "I don't know, and my best guess is he's lonely. I mean, I feel bad for the guy, he's been lonely ever since he appeared. Either he wants Hendery for company, or he wants Hendery to be someone he's never had."

"Wha-" "Have you never heard of the tale? There was a marriage between angels long ago, and everyone went to wish them happiness. The three angels getting married loved no one other than each other, but a danger threatened the other two's lives, and the strongest angel in them made a pact with the devil for the devil to have his soul."

"The Devil originally wanted the angel's soul for experiments, but after he saw their wedding, the devil yearned for love and he killed the angel on purpose. He claimed the angel's soul, and tried to make him his bride. The angels begged the lord to release their husband, and the lord gave in, pulling the angel from the Devil, and he's wanted a bride ever since." Ten went pale at hearing the tale, then stared at Johnny.

"Johnny, do you seriously not realize something?"

"Realize what?"

"Doesn't that story sound just like Hendery, Dejun and Xuxi?"
