Description: Yuta has just transferred to a new school so he doesn't really know much about the place or the other students. Yuta doesn't really understand what love means because he's never felt that feeling before but soon he will understand.

Monday, 7:00 am

Yuta had bid goodbyes with his mother who had driven him to his new school, smiling at her and wishing her a happy day before he had left. It was Yuta's very first day in here so he was quite nervous, for many different reasons.

The Japanese had just turned 17 and that was a difficult age. His parents would constantly ask him if he had found a girlfriend and his friends from his previous school would be even more annoying about that same topic too.

It was like that was all there was to talk about, ever. Yuta would always just shy away from the question or just straight up deny that he is in a relationship because he genuinely wasn't looking for someone at all at the moment.

Yuta didn't expect to find himself a girlfriend anytime soon so he had accepted that fact. He was just looking forward to learning about his new school and his classmates.

The Japanese didn't really know where anything was so he had decided to ask someone where he was supposed to go.

Yuta spotted two girls talking to each other next to the fountain that was right in the center of the huge schoolyard so he gathered all his courage and tried asking them.

"Excuse me? I am new here.. uhh.. do you happen to know where the literature classroom is?"

Yuta had very long blonde hair and long dangly earrings so he would stick out like a sore thumb in this school since everyone else had either black or dark brown hair.

The girls immediately started wondering who Yuta was since they had never seen someone so interesting looking in this school before.

They both found him very cute but Yuta didn't seem to catch onto that. He was quite inexperienced in this area so he was pretty much completely unaware whenever someone would find him attractive.

"Literature? Hmmm.. I think that's room 35. Second floor, third door on the left." One of the girls replied as she also smiled at Yuta while her friend was simply just chuckling underneath her breath.

Yuta nervously smiled back at them and bowed his head in order to thank them. He then proceeded entering the huge building, already feeling overwhelmed by the amount of people and different rooms and areas he could see.

The Japanese then remembered that the girls told him that he should go to the second floor so Yuta decided to look for the stairs.

It really was quite big and confusing inside, the amount of different signs on the doors and the walls telling him what was in which direction were not actually helping him that much.

Maybe he should've asked for more details. He was just so lost and he was way too nervous to ask someone.

Yuta didn't use to be shy in his previous school but now that he basically knew absolutely no one here, he did feel quite afraid to even make eye contact with any of these people.

Unfortunately for him, everyone would also look at him because they all thought that he looked unusual. Maybe it was because of his hair again?

Did they find him interesting or strange? Yuta couldn't stop thinking about that. He didn't know if he was making a good first impression at all.

While he was walking amongst the sea of students, he accidentally bumped into someone which resulted into Yuta falling to the ground and hitting his knee quite badly.

He didn't even know who he had hit so when he looked up he saw that it was some really muscular boy that was dressed in some sort of sport uniform.

"Hey! Look where you are walking, new kid! I could've gotten my uniform dirty because of you!"

Yuta was so confused by the boy's behaviour. Not only did Yuta not mean to hit him, but he also was the one that fell and hurt his knee that was clearly bleeding right now and had ruined his own uniform pants.

Why would he even shout at Yuta for something that hadn't even happened? The Japanese didn't mean to walk into anyone like this but it just happened and it was clearly a mistake.

"I.. I am sorry." Even if he felt like the boy was being unreasonable, Yuta had a very pure heart so he immediately apologised.

Though, the boy didn't seem to feel any better from that and would instead proceed to straight up growl at Yuta.

If a boy with pretty long blonde blonde hair falling to the ground wasn't enough to gain everyone's attention then this was because literally everyone in the hallway had stopped to look at what was going on.

Yuta definitely did not expect his first day in here to go like this. He just wanted to attend his classes and potentially make new friends but it didn't seem to be going according to his plan so far.

"You are sorry? Yeah of course you are sorry, you little girl. Who the hell even are you? The new addition to the cheerleading team? I didn't know they were looking for new recruits."

Yuta did not know how to respond so he just stood there on the floor while the scary looking boy was insulting him and laughing at him.

The Japanese was thankful that no one else seem to laugh at him but they would all just stare which was not exactly helpful either.

"What happened? You don't have enough brain cells to come up with a response? I called it. Such a stupid idiot. Pft"

The boy then proceeded kicking the books Yuta was holding out of his hands, making them fall on the ground as well.

The Japanese felt like crying in that moment, wondering what had he done to deserve someone to be so rude towards him.

He waited for the mean boy and everyone else that was looking at him to finally lose interest in him so he could get up but he struggled with doing that a bit.

He had hurt his knee really badly and it kept on bleeding. The entire area was covered in blood by now.

Yuta pouted sadly as he then tried kneeling down to pick up his books. He really struggled with that as well and felt like he couldn't get them but then suddenly an unknown hand appeared into his eyesight level, handing him the last book and then also helping him get up.

The Japanese didn't know who had helped him so he was ready to thank them since no one else had offered their help to him.

Yuta was just about to bow his head in gratitude but then he felt like he froze on his spot.

The person who had helped him was a boy with long black hair, smaller eyes than his and a very sweet smile on his face.

"There you go. I am sorry for Junhyuk.. he always bullies the new students like that. It's okay though. You don't have to worry now. He is gone."

Yuta tried saying something but it unfortunately came out in the form of a stutter so the black haired boy chuckled.

"It's okay. Don't worry. You don't have to thank me. I am Ten by the way. I am from Thailand and I moved to this school last year so I can help showing you around."

"T-Ten?" Yuta was curious and wanted to not seem like he was nervous but it didn't look like it was working that well.

"Yes, that's me heh. Hey, aren't you the new student from my class? I heard that we will be having two new students this year and that it was a boy and a girl.. I assume that you are one of them, yes?"

"I... uhhh.. I don't know.. I have literature first. I am in 10th grade." Yuta had no idea why he was so nervous to talk with Ten, even more nervous than he was when he talked with those girls earlier.

"Yes, that's you then. Ah, how nice. So we are in the same class indeed! Come on. Follow me. You better stick close because I don't want you to get in trouble again, okay?"

"I.. but why are you helping me? You don't even know me y-yet.. and don't you find me weird or different..?"

"Hmmm? Why would I find you weird? You are perfectly normal. Nothing wrong about you whatsoever."

Yuta didn't really know how to keep the conversation going so he just started following Ten who took him to the second floor and then started walking with him towards the room their first class was supposed to take place in.

"You didn't even tell me your name. I need to know my new friend's name at least." Ten smiled softly as he and Yuta finally reached the room. It seemed like they were the last students to arrive so the teacher quickly urged them to get inside the classroom, not even giving Yuta a chance to introduce himself to Ten.

They ended up sitting on the two opposite sides of the room as well so Yuta couldn't really talk to him now at all.

He felt sad that he didn't even manage to introduce himself but thankfully (or maybe not that much) he was a new student and that automatically meant that he would have to introduce himself to the rest of the class.

The teacher called his name and gestured with his hands for him to come to the front which made Yuta quite anxious.

He's never seen any of these people besides Ten and he just didn't know if anyone would want to be his friend.

Yuta did not even know why he was so nervous about everything. He really hated that part about himself.

He took a moment to collect himself and then finally started introducing himself, his eyes avoiding making eye contact with anyone for longer than 5 seconds.

"Uhh.. hello. My name is Yuta and-and I am from Japan.. uhh.. I just moved to Korea and I really like it here.. I am sorry sir, what else am I supposed to say?"

Yuta turned his head towards their teacher who smiled slightly while a few of the students chuckled which sadly caused the Japanese to think that they were laughing at him.

"That was enough for your introduction Yuta. You can just go back to your seat now and hear our second new student introduce herself."

Yuta just nodded as a response as he timidly went back to his desk. He once again avoided looking at everyone, just wanting to sit down and be by himself.

He was quite introverted and it was plainly obvious to pretty much everyone that knew him.

Yuta liked spending time with his friends from his previous school but he preferred being on his own.

He waited for the new girl to introduce herself and then the actual lesson finally started. Yuta made sure he payed attention to what the teacher was saying and he also wrote everything down in his notebook.

Yuta was a good student but he was definitely not good in every subject.

Soon the class somehow ended pretty fast, the bell indicating that there was a ten minute break now.

Yuta just put everything back in his bag and then stood up, heading towards the door but he was stopped by someone.

It turned out to be Ten once again.

"Hey! So your name is Yuta? Yuta from Japan. Yes, that makes sense why you look way more interesting than everyone else here."

"I look interesting? How.." Yuta was confused and didn't even notice how Ten had pulled him out of the room and had taken him to a nearby bench that was close to the Literature classroom.

"When I saw you for the first time I thought that you were a character that had jumped out from a webtoon!"

Yuta snickered in embarrassment as he looked to the side. It definitely has been a long time since he's received a compliment.

"You are just being sweet.." Ten smiled once again as he playfully hit Yuta in the shoulder "Nope. Not at all. You really are very handsome. I am sure that you already have many fans."

"I don't know about that.. I definitely lost all of them after what happened in the hallway earlier.. I am so clumsy.. I always mess everything up."

Ten noticed that Yuta was looking down now that he had thought about what had happened earlier again.

He felt bad that he had brought it up. He was just trying to be friendly but he didn't mean to make Yuta sad.

"I am sorry.. I didn't mean to talk about this again. I am just nervous that you might not like me or something so I just started talking about things without thinking about them too much."

Yuta raised his brow as he looked back at Ten "You are nervous to talk with me? But I thought you're the cool guy everyone wants to be friends with.. that's why I was so scared to talk with you. I didn't know if you would want to be friends with the new weird kid.."

"Ah.. it seems like both of us felt the same way haha! Then there is nothing to worry about. And I am definitely not "cool" or anything. I am just a normal guy, heh! Now let's go to our next class. We have art, I think? That's my favorite subject!"

Yuta's eyes widened when he heard Ten mention about art. He absolutely loved art and he loved drawing. Yuta had made so many drawings that he had even gotten a binder to keep them all in.

He would often draw on his arms too. He found it really therapeutic and he also really loved how it looked it.

"I also love art! Yes, let's go!" Yuta seemed so much more excited and happier than earlier. That definitely made Ten feel better.

He didn't know what it was but there was something special about him. Ten could feel it as soon as they met each other for the first time earlier.

Even if Yuta was pretty excited, he actually stopped walking as he held his knee in pain. It still hurt quite badly and it needed to be treated but the Japanese had gotten way too caught up with everything that he had completely forgotten about this.

"Aw.. I am really sorry. Maybe we should go to the school nurse office first? Your knee looks pretty bad.."

"No, no! I-I want to finish the art lesson first. I will be okay, I promise. Don't worry." Yuta smiled softly to which Ten replied with a sigh because he didn't really want his friend to be in pain but he didn't want to force him to do anything either.

The black haired boy just ended up taking his new friend to the art room and the class soon started. This time Ten and Yuta actually ended sitting next to each other.

The Japanese was really happy about that but he didn't want to show it too much, feeling anxious that Ten might find him strange or something.

"Welcome, welcome everyone. Since this is Your first day this year, I am giving You all the freedom to choose what You want to draw today. There won't be any grades but I will be evaluating Your works at the end of the class. Let's start."

Ten seemed very excited so he started drawing as soon as the teacher had finished talking.

Yuta on the other was just staring blankly at his empty piece of paper on the easel, wondering what he should draw.

The Japanese was quite the thoughtful type so he would often think about many deep topics in his free time. He loved expressing himself and that's exactly why he absolutely adored drawing.

He was quite good at it too, so good that his parents had thought about sending him to an art school but Yuta had declined that offer, saying that drawing was just a hobby of his.

The Japanese spent some more time thinking about what he should draw and when he finally had the visual in his head, he had started putting his ideas onto the white paper.

Ten was quite curious what his friend was drawing so he peaked a bit. He wasn't really sure what Yuta was drawing yet though because he hadn't even completed the outline work yet so he decided to ask him.

"Hey, Yuta. What are you drawing? It looks very pretty so far!"

Yuta was so focused on drawing that Ten actually scared him a bit when he suddenly started talking to him. He didn't mind it though.

"Oh.. this is a.. butterfly." Yuta explained as he continued drawing the butterfly's wing. Ten tilted his head a bit, kind of seeing it but also feeling kind of confused.

"A butterfly? But.. why is this wing-"

"It's not a regular butterfly. See? This wing is made out of flowers and plants! It's a special butterfly. It flies way higher than all the other ones."

Ten had to admit that he found Yuta quite adorable and really charming while he was explaining all of this to him. He could sense how pure hearted the Japanese really was.

It was causing Ten to feel the need to protect him in all costs even if he still knew only the most basic information about him.

"That's so beautiful, Yuta. I love how it looks different. It's very special indeed.. just like you." Ten mumbled the last part to which Yuta raised his brow again and looked at him in confusion.

"What?" Ten started panicking and tried to play it off by saying that he had to focus on his own drawing now.

The Thai boy made sure Yuta wasn't looking at him anymore before he facepalmed himself. How could he let that slip out of his mouth? It definitely wasn't very smart of him.

Thankfully Yuta didn't hear a thing. Or so he thought.

The Japanese had actually heard exactly what Ten had said and was now currently thinking about it, his hand now freezing in its spot and no longer drawing the butterfly.

("Why did he say that? Did he really tell me that or did I make it up? I make stuff up in my head quite often.. maybe I just heard wrong. Anyways.. stop thinking about it.." )

While Yuta was thinking all of that, he didn't even realise how he had subconsciously started writing Ten's name in the corner of the paper. It was as if his hand had a mind on its own.

The Japanese was so busy brainstorming all of these things in his head that he didn't notice that Ten had came closer to him once again.

Oh no. Now he was screwed.

Yuta quickly dipped his brush in the yellow paint and painted over Ten's name before he could see it.

"Ah, the butterfly is coming along really nicely! But.. what is that yellow spot in the corner supposed to represent?"

Yuta was legitimately sweating at this point and he wasn't one to get so incredibly nervous but this was enough to give him an actual anxiety attack for some reason.

He had to come up with something and he prayed that it wouldn't be something stupid.

"Uhh.. uhh... it's.. the sun! Yes.. I decided to draw a sun as well.. heh.." Yuta made the random yellow splotch of paint a little bit more round and then shaded it with some orange as well, making it look more believable.

"Ooooh! I see. Wow you really draw fast. I am still figuring out my drawing and you seem like you're already almost finished with yours."

"Oh haha.. I uhh.. I can make it even more complex but we don't have much time for that unfortunately. Anyways.. what are you drawing?"

"Oh, uhh.. it's just a little cat. I really want to get one when I move out of my parents house since I don't really want to bother them with my pet.."

"It looks very cute! You want to get a cat when you live on your own? I love cats! But I prefer dogs. I've always wanted to raise a puppy.. I will name her some sort of a princess name because she will be a little lady"

Ten couldn't contain his chuckles anymore so he hid his mouth in his hands as he started giggling at Yuta's cute rambles about his future dog.

"Oh! And also... uh... did I say something wrong? Why are you... laughing at me.." Yuta literally made the saddest facial expression that Ten had ever seen in his entire life which made him feel bad so he immediately tried telling the Japanese that he had misunderstood.

"No, Yuta. I am laughing because what you said was very cuuuu- uhh.. whatever! Let's just finish our drawings. The class is about to finish anytime now."

Ten once again concentrated on his own drawing and left Yuta confused just like earlier. That was the second time he's done this in the span of 5 minutes.

("Why is he acting so strange? I guess I really said something wrong and he just said it wasn't that to make me feel better.. agh, such a fool.. you always mess everything up, Yuta.")

The Japanese would quite often have these inner thoughts and conversations with himself but he had to admit that sometimes they would stress him out even more instead of helping him.

Yuta didn't want to think about this anymore so he just decided to finish his butterfly drawing. It took him only a few more minutes to do so.

The teacher had actually started checking the other students' artworks so Yuta was quite nervous if she was going to like his.

He did have quite the talent for drawing but sometimes people would struggle with understanding what he was trying to portray with his drawings and he definitely didn't want that to happen today.

When it was finally time for the teacher to evaluate his and Ten's drawings, Yuta had made sure he had calmed down a bit so he doesn't look like he was being so anxious over something so minor.

It was important for him though, even if there were no grades today.

"Ah, mr. Nakamoto.. this is my first time having you in my class so I am quite excited to see what you have created. Now let's see-"

The teacher then finally took a look at Yuta's drawing, actually becoming speechless which only made it worse because the Japanese thought that she didn't like it at all.

"I.. I tried something new and-and didn't know if people would understand it.. I am sorry if i-it's not that good and-"

"It's brilliant! The colours, the details, the composition! This is the best artwork I've ever seen in any of my classes! Oh my.. you really created a masterpiece, young man. I know that I said that I would only be evaluating today but.."

The teacher then proceeded to search for something in her cardigan's pocket, actually gaining the attention of the entire class who was now looking at them.

Yuta did not know what was happening but then he felt Ten playfully hitting him on his shoulder again which even further confused him.

The Japanese stayed in that lost state of mind until the teacher pulled out a little golden sticker in the form of the star and stuck it onto Yuta's tie.

Everyone in the class proceeded with a gasp, some of the students already appearing seemingly jealous that it was the new student out of everyone who got the golden star.

Yuta didn't even know what that sticker meant but then the teacher started explaining to him why it was so important.

"You deserve the golden star sticker. I have been planning to give it to the student who impresses me the most with their artwork and I've been holding onto it since last year. I think that you deserve it the most because I've never seen such talent being displayed before in any of my classes. You are very talented, mr. Nakamoto. I am looking forward to your future art pieces!"

The teacher then went over to Ten to evaluate his work while Yuta was looking at his shiny golden sticker, still kind of struggling to realise what had just happened.

He couldn't believe that the teacher liked his drawing so much. He's always loved drawing and he's been acknowledged for his talent in that area in his previous school as well but never to this extent.

It definitely made him so happy to hear someone tell him that he was talented in something. Yuta has always wanted to hear that from one of his teachers too.

When the art teacher had finished evaluating Ten's drawing, the bell rang soundly, making everyone start to pack their things and then leave the room.

Some of the students looked at Yuta with quite unfriendly eyes when they went by him before they actually exited the room.

Yuta had no clue why they seemed upset at him but he decided to ignore that for now. The most important part was that he got acknowledged for his talent, for the thing he loved doing the most and has loved doing since he was a child.

"Hey! That was amazing! I never thought I would see the day someone gets that star, haha! Everyone has always wanted it but the teacher never handed it to anyone. I am so happy that you are the one who got it because you definitely are the most deserving person to have it."

"I.. I didn't even know about the existence of this star.. but I am really happy that I got it too. It really means a lot to me. I've never received such high acknowledgment for this so I am going to cherish the star forever."

"Hehe, I was sure she was going to love your drawing. I love it too. It definitely is the prettiest thing ever!"

Yuta laughed happily but then he felt this strong and sharp pain in his knee again, reminding him that he still hadn't taken care of that at all and that it was only going to get worse if he kept ignoring it.

He yelped quietly as he held it with his hand, genuinely feeling a lot of pain. How could he be so clumsy to get in trouble and get hurt on his first day here?

"Oh my god.. I completely forgot! Let's go to the nurse now. I will take you to her office. It really is not going to do any good if you just ignore the injury. Let's go.."

Ten stood up and then held Yuta by his hand, making him stand up as well and follow him. The Japanese felt hesitant though so he stopped Ten right when they were about to exit the room.

"Wait.. but what if we are late for our next class because of this? I-I don't want to miss any classes on my first day.."

"It's a 15 minute break now and not a 10 minute one so this should be enough time for us to go to the nurse and then go back to our next class. Plus, if we happen to be late then we can just say that we were at the nurse office and they will understand."

"But.. why are you coming with me though? I can go on my own and I don't want you to be late for the class because of me.."

"You need help. You barely managed to get to this room, remember? I had to hold you by your hand because you would keep on losing your balance.. just let me help you, okay? It really will take no time. I promise. Now let's go."

With that, Ten and Yuta started walking towards the nurse office which was quite far from where they were right now and it really felt more difficult and more painful for Yuta to walk. He didn't even realise how badly he had hit his knee.

The Japanese still had no clue why Ten wanted to help him with so many things and why he was insisting on doing so but he felt really thankful that he had met him.

He was the only one that seemed so friendly here and the only one to ever initiate a conversation with him first and willingly.

While they were walking towards the nurse office, Yuta would recall about what had happened in the art class earlier. His happiness he felt from receiving the golden star had almost overshadowed the fact that Ten had made him feel this weird type of nervousness he's never felt before.

Yuta would get anxious and even scared about things but those feelings didn't feel any remotely similar to the one he had experienced earlier because of Ten.

What was it about him that was making Yuta feel in this weird way he couldn't quite explain?

He wondered about that a lot and so did Ten who was still beating himself up for slipping earlier. He was shocked that Yuta hadn't said anything about it.

The Thai male couldn't stop thinking about that but he was more focused on helping Yuta out with his injury right now because he wanted him to be okay and because he cared for him..

maybe a little too much for someone he had met just a little over an hour ago.

To be continued
