☆ Cannonball! ☆

-

The next morning, the Speedwagon Foundation's boat had arrived. You all checked out of the hotel and went to the docks.

Walking through lines of crates and shipping containers, you were standing in front of a massive ship.

The breeze coming off the sea made your coat blow in the wind.

You turned your head to see none other than Polnareff walking in your direction.

You took your stand out and faced him, gaining the attention of the others.

"Is there something you need?" Avdol asks him.

"I haven't thanked you all for freeing me from DIO's spell," he responds.

You put The Universe away.

"That's on Kujo," you tell him.

"I don't need it," Jotaro says back.

"Well, it appears there's no one to accept your gratitude," Avdol tells him.

He sighs.

"Well I don't like to be pushy either," he starts, "there is one more thing however."

He walks over to Mr. Joestar.

"Monsieur Joestar, I have a strange question."

"A strange question?" Mr. Joestar brings his hand up to his chin.

"Forgive my curiosity, but I remember from when we were eating you didn't take off your gloves. Your left arm wouldn't be a right arm by any chance, would it?"

"What? That is a strange question. What do you mean?"

Polnareff's tone became completely serious.

"I'm looking for the man who killed my sister."

Everyone except me and Jotaro had shocked looks on their faces, and admittedly you were shocked too. Unlike them you weren't going to outwardly show it. A sob story wouldn't change you so quickly.

Mr. Joestar removed his glove.

"I lost it in a battle fifty years ago."

"Please, forgive my rudeness then," Polnareff apologized.

"If you don't mind, can you tell us what happened?"

Polnareff then went into detail about what had happened to his sister and how he met DIO.

"I've decided that to avenge my sister and defeat DIO, I'll be accompanying you to Egypt."

"What do we do?" Kakyoin asked.

"I don't have any objections," Avdol said.

Jotaro said nothing.

"If we have more stand users, our trip will be easier," you said with your usual unemotional expression.

"I'm sure you'd follow us even if we said no," Mr. Joestar said.

"It's an honor," Polnareff said with a salute.

"What a pain..." Jotaro sighed.

Two girls made their way over to the group.

"Excuse me," they said to Jotaro, "Would you mind taking our picture?"

They kept pestering him, and you knew he was about to snap. Apparently, Polnareff could tell too.

"Now, now," Polnareff sauntered over. "I'll take your picture for you," he offered.

He guided them to the water, talking about how nice their legs were.

You cringed at the sight.

"Well his mood took a complete 180..." You said.

"I don't really understand his personality," Avdol commented.

"More like he's thinking with his lower half," Mr. Joestar said.

The metaphor in itself grossed you out, not to think about what it means in the first place.

"Yare yare daze," you and Jotaro said at the same time. You exchanged looks and you could see a little pink tint on his cheeks.

-

Once you had all set sail, you found yourself on a lounge chair. Your coat was off, legs crossed and arms behind your head. You had a cigarette hanging out of your mouth.

Deep down you knew you had to be aware of your surroundings, but you really didn't care at the moment.

On your right, Kakyoin and Jotaro were also in lounge chairs.

Kakyoin was reading a book while Jotaro was just relaxing.

Mr. Joestar walked over to the three of you. He no longer had on his normal shirt, but instead a red-striped tank top.

"Mr. Joestar, you look like you're about to sweep the deck."

"Ha-ha, Akira, very funny," he responded sarcastically before turning his attention to the boys. "Are you two seriously not going to take off those school uniforms? It's so hot out here!"

"Well, we are students," Kakyoin says, looking up from his book, "Students should behave as such even if they aren't in school."

"Japanese students are such stiffs" Mr. Joestar said.

Avdol and Polnareff had turned their attention to the rest of you.

"I suppose this is bushido," Avdol says, "Once you clear your mind, even fire seems cool."

"You know," Polnareff starts

"Give me a damn break" you whisper under your breath, While adjusting your hood.

"The ladies won't fall for stiff guys like you two. What the ladies want is-"

Your conversation was interrupted by a sailor holding a child.

"Let go of me you big lug!" They said.

The sailor called the kid a brat, and was being overall unnecessarily rough. Standing up you make your way over, but Mr. Joestar stops you.

"What's going on?" he asks, "I thought we agreed that we would be the only one's onboard?"

"I'm sorry sir, it's a stowaway."

The kid kept thrashing against the sailor's grip.

"Come at me if you want, I'll kick your balls in!" They yelled.

The sailor threatened to call the police on the child, to which they backed off immediately.

"Please, let me go. I only wanted to go to Singapore to see my father. I'll work, I'll do anything, please!"

The sailor grabbed their cheek. You started to walk over only to be stopped by Mr. Joestar again. The sailor was questioning what to do with the kid. Then he flicked the kid's nose, deciding they weren't going to let them go.

You got pissed at the man, but you stayed put. The poor kid started crying.

You bit your tongue so as not to say anything you'd regret.

"We're gonna have to tell the captain about you, so come with-"

The kid ran up and bit his arm, then jumped into the water. They started to make a break for land.

"They actually jumped in! Talk about being energetic" Polnareff said.

The men all walked to the railing, questioning what to do.

"Leave 'em" Jotaro said. "They wouldn't jump in unless they were a confident swimmer."

Watching the kid swim, you noticed something swimming near them.

A shark.

While the men were distracted, you took off your boots and bandages and walked to the railing.

The men had noticed the shark, and all but Jotaro were nervous. He had already taken note of your actions.

You cut your hand, and climbed over the railing.

"The Universe!"

Your stand came out and launched you from the ship to near the kid.

"Cannonball!" you yelled on your way down.

"Akira!" Avdol yelled.

Your stand pulled a knife out of your hand, and upon impact with the water started attacking the shark. Understandably, the kid was extremely confused when you and the dead shark had appeared within the span of only a few seconds.

"Come on, it's dangerous out here" you grabbed their wrist, and started pulling them forward through the water. You sensed an aura begin to swim up near you. You used The Universe to throw the knife at whatever was below.

Looking up, you yelled "Oii Kakyoin!"

"Right, Hierophant Green!"

You threw the kid up, knocking their hat off in the process, revealing that the stowaway was a girl. Hierophant Green safely brought her aboard. A tentacle came down around your waist and brought you up.

Once you were safely on deck you brought out your stand once more.

"Akira, what were you thinking?" Avdol asked.

"I wasn't,"

The Universe brought a hand to your heart.

Your body temperature raised rapidly to the point where the water on you evaporated and you were dry.

"You don't even know how to swim!" Avdol yelled out of anger and frustration.

Other than Mr. Joestar, everyone was caught off guard.

"SHH! Not so loud!"

"Anyway," you changed the subject, "a stand tried to attack while we were in the water. I landed a hit, so the user should have at least a cut."

"I've never heard of an aquatic stand before. The user has to be onboard."

All of their attention turned to the young girl, who was still gasping for air on the deck.

"She couldn't be.." Mr. Joestar said.

"Did she try to lead one of us to the water on purpose?" Kakyoin questioned.

The girl took note of the men staring and said,

"What are you jerks staring at?"

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a knife as the men questioned her.

You sighed. You walked back to the girl and crouched down to her height.

You handed her a spare jacket.

"Put this on," you told her.

While you made small talk with the girl, you brought your stand out and had it shake its head, telling them that she wasn't the user.

As you began to walk the girl to the chair, someone came up behind her and grabbed her shoulder.

"So, this is our little stowaway, huh?"

It was the captain of the ship.

To be continued...>
