It was two days ago when it would be two days to Saturday. Much to Cathedral's dismay, today was Saturday and was quite unavoidable too.

Suddenly her phone made a notification.

UNKNOWN: wear red.

CATHEDRAL: who's this?

UNKNOWN: don't you remember, you have a date with me Wes?

CATHEDRAL:it's not a date Jason, just a dinner.

UNKNOWN: whatever Wes, see you ;)

'Date?....is it a date? I need to get out of this situation' thought Cathedral

.
" Mom I..I forgot to tell you I've an appointment with my therapist at evening seven" she said.

"Cath didn't you just go yesterday ?"Her mother asked turning from her file to Cathedral standing in the doorway.

"Actually I am meeting an old friend " She bit her lower lip as she lied.

Shelina let out a sigh. Cathedral had to live her life, she can't be always locked in her room. The death of her beloved best friend had really triggered her, but also she had always kept to herself right from her childhood.

"Darling I know it's hard for you but you'll have to socialize at a point of life and besides they are our closest friend and our partner in business. I am sure you will like Jason." Shelina sighed again keeping the file down.

"No what? Me and Jason? No! Mom I'll go,jus- just because of the business stuff" Cathedral said uneasily and cracked  her fingers.

"Great honey, why don't you borrow one of my heels, I'll buy you some later" Shelina exclaimed.

"Okay mom, but why can't I just wear f-"

"Oh for goodness sake wear those damn heel-" Shelina wanted her daughter to look fine.

'"Mom but why-" And much to her dismay, Cathedral, out of all the rich kids was down to earth and wanted a simple life.

"Cathedral Weston you are wearing those heels now go to your room and get ready" Shelina instructed on top of her voice. There was no point in arguing with her mom who was an advocate, best in town.

Cathedral, all ready in her sparkling red dress with a short slit, looked like a princess.
She opened a pink and golden box and found the pages she tore and kept hidden inside this box. She wanted no one to look inside it. She took out the first page. It was crumbled, almost yellow and had tear stains. She felt stupid and hated herself for even liking this horrible person.

30 January 2016
Hey diary, it has been a hectic yet agonizing day. It started with my filthy alarm waking me up, the the normal routine and getting to collage, attending classes.

I had decided to see Alex in the evening or more like surprising him. When I arrived, I heard someone say ' She is a really stupid and annoying bitch, boring beyond measures, I mean who studies 16 hours each day?' I recognised that voice as Alex's.

I stood there listening to each and every insult while I was crying. Then Alex noticed my presence as I ran off and sat on a bench.

He said he was sorry and didn't mean any of it and I forgave him.

"Cath are you ready?" her mom asked yelling from downstairs. She looked herself in the mirror. She looked a different version of herself in the mirror, just like she was in college. She couldn't point out, but something in her life had changed. She wasn't even happy to come home like she was expected to. Something she had left, a part of her perhaps.

"Just need the heels mom" She said in an annoyed tone while fixing a strand of her honey brown hair. She wore the heels and walked down practically tumbling and falling on the way. It's been really long since she had worn heels. Just then the bell rang. The housekeeper Ms Dargee opened the door to reveal the Greek god in a tuxedo with a red tie matching her gown and not to forget with a single yellow rose in his hand. A yellow rose, too familiar yet too hard to remember.

"You look breathtakingly gorgeous Wes" he remarked and smiled which erupted a warm feeling in her chest. His eyes not leaving hers even for a second. He was left in a daze upon seeing the beauty dressed in his favorite, red.

"Not too bad yourself Jason" She said shyly, looking down blushing, clutching her hand purse tighter. She looked up and smiled at him.

"Here, for you"  He handed her the rose. When their hands touched, sparks erupted, and a gasp left her mouth. Music to his ears.

A yellow rose, she knew it stood for friendship, it ignited a warmth of security and comfort in the cold heart of hers.

" Thank you." She said taking the rose and enjoying its sweet smell.

Jason smiled at this and took her hand. The drive had no words exchanged between them. It was a silent yet peaceful drive. When they reached he opened the door for her and led her inside by her hand. The paparazzi went crazy over seeing the famous business tycoon and the heiress no one had ever really seen. Too many people flashing cameras and irrational questions scared Cathedral. This was the first time she was out and paparazzi had caught her. Her hold on Jason's hand tightened. He sensed her discomfort and pulled her closer to him and held her by waist. He pulled her in front of him and her head was touching his chest.

" Relax Wes, I won't let go." He whispered reassuringly into her ears. I won't let you go.They walked closely until they reached inside the lavish hall where the event was organised. Everything looked perfect but her. She looked like a mismatch to come to this event that too with Jason. She still smiled at all the people who passed by. They currently came across a blond and medium heighted woman, who looked wonderful in a silver dress.

" Cathedral, this is my assistant, Lyssa Ceil. Lyssa, this is Cathedral Weston, my date." Jason introduced the two to each other. Lyssa's eyes sparked of some emotion of recognition but they went back to normal.

" It's a pleasure to meet you Ms. Weston. I've heard a lot about you." She said shaking hands with her.

" The pleasure is all mine, please call me Cathedral."

" We have to meet Mr Carter, hope to see you tomorrow at office Lyssa." Jason said and swooped Cathedral along him to meet many people she had never met.

Jason greeted many people and introduced Cathedral to them. They took a table for two by the corner.

"You look busy somewhere in your thoughts are you okay?" Jason asked.

" I don't belong here. These dresses, these jewelry, its just not me. " Cathedral stated while looking at the man who sat beside her and even somewhere in her memories.

"You are right, you don't belong to fake world Wes. Even I couldn't believe you are real." He whispered the last part under his breath while looking at her. They kept gazing at each other till a waiter disturbed them and Jason cursed under his breath. Dinner was here. Cathedral smiled and thanked the waiter politely before turing to Jason, "Do we really know each other?"

" We actually know each other  Cathedral , I just don't think you remember me" Jason said with a glimpse of disappointment.

" I don't remember meeting you, I-i am really sorry but I don't" She answered feeling sorry.

'"No need to apologise, it was the masquerade ball themed prom at Morale's high years ago, you were in a ash grey gown with a golden feather mask, sitting alone by the stairs and then I asked you to dance with me." He said.

"Oh wow it's just surprising how you remember every inch of it , but why were you at the ball, I mean you looked older than to be in high school?" She asked.

"I was there as my sister's date and yes I have a filthily good memory" He joked.

"That's cool, Do you remember the gay dj who accidentally played some of his personal videos with some teacher in front of the crowd ?" Cathedral remembered.

"Yes..yes I do, I laughed my guts out, it was so funny" They talked, Jason cracked jokes that make Cathedral laugh out loud, after so long, and finally had an amazing dinner not only the food, but the company.

When they just reached the exit. Cathedral's left heel thought that it would be extremely funny to snap out right then. And then Cathedral's heel broke and she fell down twisting her ankle in the process.

"Oh lord-are you okay Wes?"  Jason asked in concern as he lowered at her level examining her heel.

"I am fine just my heel broke" She groaned in pain.He bent and held her by her waist to help her up, but she couldn't stand. Without uttering a single word, Jason slipped his hands in between her arms and knees and lifted her bridal style and walked towards the car without uttering a single word.

"No-no put me down right now Jason, I swear to god I'll strangl-"

"Are you MAD? Can't you see you are unable to walk?" Jason said in a raised voice which scared Cathedral a bit. She flinched and he noticed and felt remorse for shouting at her. It was hard to believe that she wasn't his. He made her sit in the car, facing towards door and bent down to remove her heels.

"No need, you've done enough"  Cathedral's voice came out broken. He sighed deeply and closed his eyes bathing in regret.

"I am sorry Cathedral, I didn't mean to shout on you earlier, but please let me do it, let me make it right" he said it with stark sincerity in his eyes.

Let me make it right, his words touched her from within. She knew that she was being over emotional about this, but his words gave her the comfort of "let me make it right, let make your heart beat, let me make you happy, let me make you complete"

She could not hold it anymore, she bent and hugged him and tears slipped down making her cheeks and his tux wet.
"What happened-are you alright ?" He hugged her back.

"No I am not, can you do me a favor?"

"Anything, you say"

"Take me to a bar"
