THIRD PERSON

"It's not just about medications, it's more about will to live and be happy "
said the therapist, to whom Cathedral paid no attention as always. Cathedral Weston was lost in her thoughts.  Cathedral doesn't think talking to a stranger or even any person will help you overcome depression, if you do so, you are going to end up hurt.

She must have noticed Cathedral ignoring her as she let out a sigh. Working with a depressed version of Cathedral isn't just easy. Even the therapist, Anna Hemret would have started having issues since she had started seeing her. She laid her hand on hers and that seemed to have surprisd her,"Listen I know this is not easy for you, but you can't live like this forev-" The therapist tried to explain.

"NO, you do not understand, I feel empty. I feel that there is no reason I'm living for!" she interrupted and raised her right hand  dramatically on which sat a beautiful and expensive watch.

" Death of beloved ones does trigger your emotions and can make you numb" Anna gestured her to calm down and sighed.

" No, th-the emptiness consumes me so much, and whenever I think of it, I feel like some part of me is lost or erased." The therapist scribbled into her notepad and looked into the notes for a minute as observing a pattern.

" I understand, How has college been for you?" She questioned with a bright smile.

" It was good, I spent most of the time studying and graduated with a 4.0 GPA." Replied Cathedral who was browned off.

" I'm impressed, Cathedral." Anna Hermet replied looking at her with amusement.

" Thank you, Mrs Hemret" She smiled at the helpless therapist.

Cathedral said with a sad smile and then looked at her watch, remembering of the stupid party she was going to be forced to go.

" It's almost time, I should leave." Cathedral said and picked up her purse and coat and muttered a silent thank you.

" Okay, see you next week Cathedral" Anna greeted her and smiled.

She got up and left. Walking through the streets , passing by the Starbucks which smelled of coffee and sweet cakes. Finally she gave in and got herself a latte.

As she reached home , she was greeted by a huge bouquet of white roses, her father's favourite. 'Of course' she thought. It must be the other party who was luring her dad's company to invest.

And the worst part of it- There. Was. A. Dinner. Party.

"Cath, if it's you then, no you can't skip the dinner. Go and get ready. Be down in fifteen." her mother, Shelina Weston shouted from her room. Shelina Weston, the most fierce lawyer in the town, no one, not even Cathedral could lose an argurment to her. She was lovable too. She was somewhere between a strict mother and a chill mother. Cathedral let out a sigh and ran upstairs. There were so many advantages of having rich parents but the cons were-

1) You have to be beautiful
2) You have to socialize
3) You have to wear makeup
4) Pretend to be perfect
5) And everything else which include being cocky and doing show-off.

She sat down at her desk observing her last assignment which she had submitted had came back to her after graduation. Some blur memories of the previous night before the test came rushing to her. Was she with someone that night?  A  knock at her door startled her and in came her mother holding a dress. Cathedral looked at her with a dull face, she did not say anything. Her mother walked to her and made her get up and hugged her. She kissed her on top of her head, "You always keep to yourself Cathedral, that disturbs me. You don't eat much, don't like to go out. I'm worried for you.I know honey, it's been so hard for you. But your dad and I, we always want the best for you. Come to this party today, you'll feel good."

She thought she would cry but no tear escaped from her eye, "Mom, I will come if you want. I ju-just don't feel like myself and the worst part is. I've forgotten to feel like myself. I can't remember anything from a month ago. You told me that I got into an accident but I don't even remember that." She spoke and sat down again. Her mother sighed. She kissed her head and left the dress on her bed.

She threw over a ivory colored knee length dress after a short shower. No makeup and her wavy honey brown hair cascading down her shoulders naturally. She packed in her phone and some cash in a black clutch.
___________
The party was only some heavy designer and costly dresses waltzing around. But the food was good and a large variety of it was making the room smell delicious. Good food was her weakness. Cathedral served some Russian salad on her plate and walked towards a corner, she's definitely not a attention seeker. She took the time to think about her time in the hospital, there were segments of memories which looked too precious but she did not know where they belonged.

She wiped her mouth when a voice interrupted her -

" Is it too early to say you are very beautiful?" a deep and sexy voice said from behind. She felt an exciting sensaion in her brain, nuerons connecting speedily as she turned to meet those eyes. The owner of that voice was towering over Cathedral as she turned, looked like a Greek god , piercing green forest eyes, light brown hair perfectly gelled. The shaped and chiseled jawline did him even better. Not to mention his muscles ripping out of his neatly pressed navy blue formals. This man, a stranger felt familiar to her than all the others. Her heart skipped frantically on seeing him, his eyes, the best shades of forest green. There is a jungle in those orbs, so calming unlike her blue orbs which held a storm in them. Her breathing got heavy when he kept looking at her.

"Sorry were you speaking to me ?" she replied confused. The only piece which was expensive and fancy on her was the watch she wore and the dress.  His expresions softened and he raised his eyebrow at her. "Yes, who do you think in here is looking beautiful at the same time, Ms. Weston ?" The young man in his early twenties replied. His voice hit her like an old melody, something she had heard before. It made her blush and perplexed at the same time. His eyes were mystical, she felt like she had seen them before somewhere. She lowered her gaze and then met his eyes again in effort to remember so much as a glimpse, nothing hit her.

"How do you know my name sir? " She asked as she turned to face a very handsome man. He was taller than her, muscles ripped within his well tailored suit with the most glorious pair of green eyes, most magnificent feature of his chiseled face.

"I am Jason, Jason Blake, would you like a drink,Ms. Weston?" He leaned a bit towards her asking her for a drink.

"Bu you didn't answer my question Mr. Blake, how do you know who I am?" She asked again and he furrowed his eyebrows and nodded, "Our families are in business with each other. Now, drink?" A simple explanation, where else would have she met him?

"Uh..sure" Thought running through her mind, has she met this man before?

He took off and sprung towards the bar and got two glasses of wine and then handed her a glass of wine. She felt sparks of electricity when his hand came in touch with hers.

" Here you go Miss Weston." He smiled vibrantly as his attractive dimples popped out adoring his clean-shaved face. She felt odd when he called her by her last name.

" Cathedral please call me Cathedral."Cathedral brought the drink towards her lips after passing a formal smile.

" I would prefer to call you Wes, is it fine, Cathedral?" He asked her friendly.

Wes, why did this all sound so familiar? His face, his voice, all of it.

Hearing this,  a thousand faceless flashes erupted in her mind causing her to bite on the glass so hard that it drew blood out.

"Hey you are bleeding, are you okay ?" He took out his handkerchief and wiped her corner of lips and the tears falling due to anxiety and the frustration of the emptiness out of her eyes.

"Did I do anything wrong Cathedral? I am so sorry." He panicked upon seeing her cry. The storm in her eyes roaring louder than her will.

"No..no it's alright just the cut hurts a bit." She lied to her wiping the blood off the rim of the glass. He was not convinced by the tone of her voice and looked at her questioningly.

She looked at him straight in the eye, fake smiled and said  "I am fine, really"

"Lie" as a reflex it escaped out of his mouth. And he moved a bit closer to her. She grew anxious.

An intense and thick tension was maintained, Cathedral felt an immense attraction and a deep connection to his touch as he wiped off the tear sitting on her cheek. Both staring each other in the eye, until Cathedral's father, Mr. Eric Weston broke it.

"So you've met Jason already, Cathedral" His voice made Cathedral jump and look at the pair of their parents.

"Oh dear what happened to your lip? it's bleeding!" Jason's mother, Mrs Elena Blake exclaimed examining her lip.

" Good evening, Mr and Mrs Blake, I am Cathedral Weston, nice to meet you, actually I accidently gashed my lip." She said with a cultured voice and the politest smile. She was not exactly social since his death but it felt nice and warm to meet the Blakes, their business partners.

"Oh us too dear, Eric, what did I tell you, your daughter is polite and cultured."The comment made Cathedral blush into a deep crimson shade and she looked at Jason from the corner of her eye and caught him already staring at her. The stare that does things to you, unfamiliar things but all familiar.

"You don't seem to be pleased to meet me, Cathedral?" A deep voice questioned, Jason to be precise.  Cathedral, it felt magical as it flowed out of his mouth. She looked at him as if he was the only man in the world. She felt attracted to her.

" Oh no, I am absolutely delighted Jason, just remembering if we have ever met before." She explained.

" Yes, we have" He looked into a deep thought and looked into her stormy ocean eyes. Then he realised what he said and his expressions changed and he cleared his throat, "You were in high school, I was my sister's date at the prom."

" Are you attending the annual dinner party on Saturday? I heard that you will be joining the business soon." He asked her coming out of his thoughts. His eyes never left hers. The air got heavy again.

"No-" Cathedral started to deny but her mother cut her off.

" She will be there, she just returned after graduating and needs to get out of the house." Her mom chipped in looking and her and throwing knives with her glare.

" Great, they can spend some time together, I don't seem to remember when they have met after we visited Greece, Jason was just ten." Elena added, fondly smiling and reminiscing of the old memories left in dust.

" Good old days, Do you reme-" Mr Blake started.

The talk was no more than a mere background noise.

" Can I pick you up at eight then?" Jason's voice interrupted her million dollar thoughts.

" Okay." Cathedral said shyly to Jason as she came out of her bubble.

The rest of the dinner faded away, leaving one question imprinted on her mind, why was he so familiar ?
