Time in an Antique Room

A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.

Traveling down the quiet and dark hallway, you saw Lucian approaching an old wooden door towards the end of the hallway. Its ancient grey wood stood out among the rest of the brand new golden doors that shone with elegance under the dim light of the magnificent golden chandeliers that hung overhead. On the other hand this door had no brilliance, rather it held an ancestral quality that intrigued the mind and dared one to open its hidden secrets.

You still felt tears running down your cheeks, but they were slowing in number and soon only the memory of them remained. Reaching the door, Lucian managed to open the door with you still in his arms. Once the door was open, it unveiled what was kept inside. Pale moonlight shone through the paned white windows while torn and worn out olive green curtains lay at their sides. Walls, worn by age, peeled and added to the abandoned feel of the space. A balcony rested just outside the room, which had an antique feel to it. Plain dome shaped chandeliers hung from the ceiling with unpolished brass trim. No illumination came from them and you could see no light switch in the room. There was a grand piano covered with a thick layer of dust that stood in the far left corner of the room. Sheets of music were on top while a cup filled with murky old water remained on top of the piano as well. Light reflected off the golden mirror that hung above marble fireplace. An old clock was placed on the mantel, ticking away with a time no longer accurate. In the middle of the room were two lonely chairs with crème colored cushions along with a round center table polished and painted blue on the top. Only an old wall fixture gave further light to the room.

Lucian went into the room with you in his arms still before setting you down gently on the cushioned chair closest to the window that led out onto the balcony. Now sitting down, you could only cast your gaze at your feet, ashamed of your tear streaked face. Soon Lucian knelt down in front of you and took your hands in his. His purple eyes seemed to shine in the moonlight while he kept his gaze on you; however you found that you couldn't make eye contact with him. Removing his right hand from yours, he used it to lift up your chin, so that you were forced to look at him. Giving you a soft smile, he moved his hand from your chin to your cheek. The gentle touch of his hand seemed to send chills up your back and you tensed.

Somehow you managed to utter, "Lucian, where are we?"

"In a room that time has forgotten, a room that no longer sees regular visits, and remains forgotten by many."

A tiny smile appeared on your lips at his statement. Why were you smiling though? Was it because his words were phrased delicately and charmingly? Did it pertain to the fact that your heartbeat seemed to be quicker, as he stared at you with those calming eyes? What was happening to you, why were you thinking these thoughts? You knew the answer, but you couldn't find it in you to utter the answer, for you were scared of the result. Clinching at the skirt of your dress, you suddenly felt Lucian remove the mask from your face before he took off his own. He set them gently on the round table, allowing them to shine under the moonlight. Moving his right hand back onto your cheek, he stroked your skin with a loving touch.

"My pet, are you feeling better?"

"I ... don't know," you muttered quietly.

He only smiled at your response before standing up. The clock continued to tick in the background, adding significance to each passing minute. Even though the time was not accurate, it still gave weight to the quiet atmosphere of the room. Glancing up at him, you watched as he went over to the piano and glided his right fingers over its dust covered surface.

"Did you know that this room was the first room my sister ever showed me when she first took me to this council? She would play on this very piano while I quietly read and studied magic. When she showed me this room, I instantly became enchanted by it."

Turning his gaze back to you, you remained silent as he continued. "I thought that maybe its alluring atmosphere would help you to feel better."

"Thank you, Lucian, but I don't think a room will affect my current state at the moment."

Remaining silent, you heard him sigh before leaning against the piano lightly. He shook his head and locked his gaze with yours.

"Of course, though, do tell me what is troubling you?" he stated in a soothing voice that rang with concern and maybe a hint of knowing.

His question startled you a bit. How could you tell him what was bothering you? In doing so you would admit a secret that had remained hidden in the furthest dark corner of your mind; a place that you tried so hard to lock away. You could only stutter, as you tried to formulate some kind of answer. Watching you, Lucian moved to behind your chair and wrapped his arms around you. This caused you to stutter more, as your cheeks became dusted with a light color of pink.

Lowering his lips to your right ear, he whispered, "Please tell me what is plaguing your mind. What is causing you to shed such crystal like tears?"

"I ... can't," was all you could say.

"I see."

The curt reply made you tense more, as you turned around in your chair to get a better look at his facial expression. He now had his hands at his sides before he ran his left one through his hair. His facial expression remained unreadable, causing you to worry. Muttering an inaudible phrase to himself, he unexpectedly grabbed your right arm with his left hand and pulled you to him. Instead of pulling you into his chest, he spun you so that your back was against the wall. You gasped in pain slightly before finding both of Lucian's hands pressed against the wall beside your head. Leaning in, he rested his forehead on your left shoulder.

"Why can't you just admit it?" he mumbled to himself.

Not giving you any time to give him some sort of an answer, he pulled his head back and locked gazes with you once more.

"Don't you understand the amount of time I have given you? All those times I have kissed you, I have longed for you to kiss me back, yet you deny me such pleasure. How long must I wait for you to admit your feelings for me?"

Startled, you could only stare back. His hardening gaze worried you and as he gripped your shoulders tightly, your concern only increased. When his grip caused you pain, you winced, but Lucian didn't care; he only wanted an answer from you. You couldn't find it in you to give him such a response and soon you felt him release you. Noting the look of frustration written across his face, you found yourself shrinking back into the wall. Something just held you back from uttering a certain phrase. Lucian turned from you before going over to the fireplace and leaning against it. Resting his face in the palms of his hands, he remained silent. With Lucian's attention away from you, he didn't notice the opening of the window doors beside you.

When the sound hit his ears, it was too late for him to act. Not being able to process the situation fast enough, you felt someone tugging on your left arm. With no time to act, you were pulled onto the balcony, as the room disappeared from your vision. Soon the balcony vanished as well, sending you into a swirl of darkness. While you were taken away, Lucian's eyes widened, as fury filled them. Before your kidnapper disappeared with you, Lucian saw the light pink hair that went down to their waist. Once the two of you were gone, out of anger, since he was not allowed enough time to do anything, he grabbed the clock and threw it across the room.

As it made contact with the floor, it did not break; its glass face did not shatter. It sat right up and ticked away, giving the room an abandoned atmosphere. You still had your bracelet on and Lucian could locate you. Only he could remove that bracelet from your wrist, however the mage who had taken you was able to tamper with the magic just enough to cause uncertainty concerning your location. Lucian could only tell that you were still in the castle, but he could not pinpoint your exact location. When he found you, the individual would pay dearly. How dare such a person lay their hands on your delicate skin, though his fury was not only directed at this individual, but at you as well. His patience had tired and thus plans began to formulate in his mind. Leaving the room, he darted down the halls and began with each room and passage, knowing this castle like it was his own home.

Concerning you, you awoke in the arms of someone foreign to you, someone you had only seen once. Even then, it was only for a mere moment, but you felt fear course through your veins nonetheless. They wore a forest green metallic half-mask while their attire consisted of a green long jacket, which was adorned with diamonds. A white button-up shirt with silver buttons lay underneath while brown pants covered their legs. Green riding boots covered their feet, as white gloves went over their hands. You found yourself sitting in their lap, waking up to leaning against their chest. The individual had their face resting against the palm of their left hand while they smirked down at your frightened face. Their right arm was wrapped around your waist, securing you to them. Attempting to struggle, you found that their grip tightened to a painful hold and you winced in pain. Knowing that you were trapped, you stopped your struggle, as words came from their mouth.

"I'm glad to see you awake and glad to see that you halted your struggle, hybrid, for I wish to speak with you and I require your full attention," he stated with a smirk still plastered on his face, as his pale green eyes stared upon your (e/c) orbs.
