7.Sick of Superficial Love

Alaska's POV:

Today I actually left my room. Yay for me. I want to die. Yesterday, while in the depth of despair, I realized I'm broken. Tristan broke me.

I.

Feel.

Rejected.

So I decided to head downstairs. On my way down, I hear my father hushed yelling at someone. His voice so threatening that I felt like running back upstairs.

I did.

Only because I was wearing my PJs stills. So I put on jean shorts and a black T-shirt. To match my depression.

So I headed back down and heard a familiar voice.

"Just let me explain to her-" he was cut off.

"Shut up Beta!" Justin growled. "Just shut up. You're making me regret not killing you sooner. You have no idea how much you hurt Alaska."

I got scared and ran back upstairs. He's not going to know he broke me. I'll show him and I'll show her. I'm the best he'll ever have.

He will beg for me to take him back.

Tristan's POV:

"Look I know she probably hates my guts ok?" I said my heart aching. "I just want to talk to her and tell her-"

"More lies?" Justin had stated.

"Woah I don't think you are being fair to Tristan here," said.... Well, to be completely honest, I didn't even get her name before her father dumped her on me. "He just wants to tell her its not his fault."

"He knew," Justin hissed. "And Alaska is-"

"Alaska is what?" I heard her soothing voice ask sensually.

"Alaska?" I had turned around and seen a whole other side of Alaska.

"Oh hi Tristan," she smiled seductively. Her long hair was curled, wearing tight jeans, tight revealing shirt, and tall heels. My heart was beating 1000 beats per minute, earning a venomous look from whats-her-face. "What's up?"

"Alaska," I had sighed looking at her with such longing.

"Alaska where are you going?" Luna had asked.

"I'm heading out with Anna to the city to party." She smiled. "She said there would be some of the boys from Greenwood there and from what I heard.. They... Are... Fine."

"Alaska, why are you going to go and find some other guy?" I had asked feeling betrayed.

"Some other guy?" She had asked, cocking an eyebrow. Then she looked at my ... Lady friend. "Hello."

"Oh hi," she smiled a little uneasy. "I'm Liz. Tristan's mate."

"Oh," Alaska said looking her over. And from her facial expression, she was not impressed. I felt embarrassed. I knew in loved Alaska no matter how many times I was reminded my mate is standing right next to me. "Well, Imma get going mom and dad. Bye Justin."

She kissed them all goodbye and then walked out the door. She didn't acknowledge me when she left. A club with Anna.... Meeting other guys? I'm may be confused right now but I know that Alaska is mine.

I love her and I would never lie about that.

She's my dealer, her love is codeine and I need my fix.

Anna's POV:

"We're going to what?" I asked staring at Alaska as she rummaged through my closet.

"We're crashing a Greenwood Pack party," she stared as if it was the most normal thing in the world. "Its in the city."

"Why?"

"Cause that," she said, going from 0 to 100 real quick, making strangling motions. "Came from there."

"And why?" I asked still confused.

"I don't know I just don't want Tristan to think I'm still stuck on him," she said flopping on my bed. "I'm just so tired."

"So you think this is what you need to do?" I asked braiding her hair.

"I want him to hurt like I do," she said plainly. "He just... Stopped caring."

"Well I'm not sure if-" then I was cut off by the doorbell. "I'll be back."

"Hello?" I had answered. Then my mouth almost dropped open. "Tristan."

"Hey, I wanted to see if Alaska was here." He said his eyes hopeful.

"Well she's upstairs. Getting ready. For the party." I smiled awkwardly.

"Can I speak to her?"

"No," I plainly said shaking my head. He just stood at the door with an exasperated look. "Look Tristan, she's human. The way you too were basically eye raping each other all the time doesn't help her cope with this new news."

He just stood there his hand running over his face. It was awkward for me because I knew Alaska must be listening in.

"I just wanted to explain that I still do love her but-"

"Don't you think that will make it worse?" I asked looking at him like he had just discover we had a blue sky. "Just leave her alone. Maybe she'll find someone for herself tonight anyways. Just stop making things worse for you both."

"Meeting new people?" He bristled, making me almost cower back into the house. He scoffed. "We'll see about that."

He then walked off leaving me in a state of fear for them both. What are they capable of doing?

Tristan's POV:

Something isn't right. Something Anna said had stuck with me since I left. I may not know a whole lat about mating but I knew one thing. That rejection on either side hurts like hell. Especially for humans.

If it wasn't real, she would not be hurting so much. Her scent still makes my wolf go crazy and I want to hold her close like I did just a couple nights before.

Then I felt excruciating pain as my wolf went crazy over the smell of  vanilla bean that was almost overpowering which had me doubled over in need. My wolf was ready to shift and reveal itself, feeling him gnawing.

Nobody ever mentioned this when someone's finds a mate, I thought to myself. Then again, we all thought Alaska was my mate.

"Are you going to do that everything I come around?" She asked rolling her eyes. "Anyways, Dad has asked to speak to you.

It was my turn and I rolled my eyes then. "Again? Is it more about how he plans to marry us against my will?"

"No," she sighed holding onto her arm. Now, I felt bad because I feel I'm being to hard on her. "Its just that he knows you haven't claimed me yet..."

"Oh," I said, flinching. I knew this was going to be brought up one day. "I'll go over soon."

"Actually," she flinched. "Uh they'll be-"

Then a knock on the door interrupted our conversation. I looked at her with a frustrated look. I sat up knowing I had wasted enough time.

"Alpha Parker," I smiled, allowing him in.

"Hello son," he said with an icy tone. "How have things been with you and Liz?"

"Great actually," I smiled at her.

"Really?" He said as he sat down by her. "I'm not so sure you are being completely honest with me."

"Why would you believe that?" I had asked, the hair on my neck standing up.

"Well first because my daughter has been, it seems, the only one interested in your spring wedding."

"Well," I say sitting forward. "I am just not into going and picking flowers. We had been discussing it together. I have some things to do as well."

"And secondly," he said leaning forward his eyes shooting daggers. "I have been told you have following around our young Alaska like a lovesick puppy."

That took me by surprise. He had me followed?

"Now listen here boy," he said his eyes full of hatred and death. "My daughter will not be rejected by some Beta."

My wolf was growling and felt like ripping this guy apart. What makes him think he can just come in here and threaten me?

"Now that we have an understanding Beta," he said sitting back. "You will stay away from that girl, Alaska, and you will claim my daughter. She will not be rejected by you."

She looked away ashamed as I had to control my breathing.

"And if I ever hear any more bad reports," he smiled. "I will make sure my boys take care of that."

Soon as he left I had ushered Liz to our room that only she had slept in while I slept on the couch. She was a little terrified and I opened her -our -closet and pulled out clothes.

"What are you doing?" She asked confused.

"We, sweetheart, are going to party," I smiled. "And some of our friends will be there."

I will not lose my Alaska.

Ever.

Even if I die giving her my love.
