Chapter 2

*Just thought that you may like to see the famed crowd of mumbai locals. The picture above is of the same at peak hour*

Uruvi striked a chord with Aman, the moment they saw each other. In no time they grew quite fond of each other. Aman made her feel more alive, he gave her a reason to love the world, he gave her dreams. When she was with Aman her heart fluttered like a bird. It was a strange feeling, to be desired by someone special. She didn't know whether this was the divine love that everyone spoke of but she didn't doubt it much because something that felt so right could never be wrong. Nothing remained of that time now, nothing but memories which only hurt her. She braced herself for the ride back home through the crowded local. Luckily she got hold of a window seat, she felt like breaking out into a victory dance right there. Afterall grabbing a windowseat at this peak hour was nothing short of winning a war! With her earphones in place she once again began the playback of events. She didn't mean to, but her chain of thoughts always ended there. Light breeze caressed her face. The waves weaved themselves into a beautiful tapestry. The cool humid climate clung to her like a cloak. The skies were dark with a drizzle of rain. A more romantic venue Aman couldn't have chosen for proposing marriage to her. A sense of pure joy pulsed through her. Ofcourse she said a yes, how couldn't she? She loved him more than anything, he was her first and last love, he was her happiness. Both of them had completed their studies and they wanted to tie the knot now. They decided to let their parents know about it. Nothing ever could have prepared Uruvi for what came next. Both of them belonged to different communities. All hell broke lose when they told their parents about their decision. They vehemently opposed it, Uruvi had thought that somehow she would be able to convince her parents but everything turned out to be futile. She could have bore their anger because they had every right to be angry on her, but the sadness that tinged their eyes seared her heart. Their pain and agony made her feel desperate. She felt in depressed in that dismal and gloomy ambience. The knowledge that she was the only reason for their sadness hurt her like nothing ever could. She couldn't even muster strength to rebel against them, she could have fought their anger but how could she fight their pleading looks. One day Aman once again came to confront her parents. He asked her to come with him, he promised her parents to keep her happy, no matter what, he tried convincing her parents but they didn't budge. They told her that if she wanted him she would have to sear all bonds with them. The decision she made that day would haunt her for a lifetime. She chose Aman. Things at home were getting tough for her to handle. She was constantly unhappy, plus she was positive of the fact that her parents would eventually forgive her. Whatever justifications she gave for her decision she knew that she was wrong. Abandoning the parents who had loved her so dearly, completed all her childish whims, who had always treated her as a princess was wrong. Nothing could be a crime worse than hurting these people who had always made sacrifices for her. Maybe it was their hurt and pain that never let her find happiness with Aman. She entered the flat Aman and her had rented after their marriage. Apparently, Aman's parents too hadn't taken much kindly to their marriage, they had refused to accept her as their daughter-in-law. She had an hour to fix dinner before Aman arrived. She promptly began the preparations.
