Chapter 44

So like we just hit 30k. I mean, I never would have guessed that this would happen. This whole thing is crazy and is about to get crazier, so be warned. I hate the way that some things happened in the OG series and now my book is just canon for me. Fuck the way that Finn and Kol died. Fuck the way that Davina acts. YEAH, DAVINA WAS A BITCH IN THE OG SERIES. THE BRATTIEST TEEN I'VE EVER SEEN! Anyways, enjoy this.

The world did not look any different from that of the real one. The bright trees and the annoyingly neon grass that paved the lawns of the road were just as bright and just as clean cut as they were before I jumped into this mess.

One major difference of this world was that it held someone who didn't have magic, who was stuck as a human. The heretics would at least have their vampirism with them, this kid had nothing. Zip. Nada.

"He has to be somewhere," Damon lets out a sigh as he waves around the ascendant in the air, "We're getting you out of here, Kai! Come out of hiding, small siphoner!"

I slap his arm. "I thought that I was a small siphoner!"

"Darling, you are the smallest and best small siphoner. I'm just trying to lure him out so we can get him home as soon as possible. Stefan will go nuts if we don't come home," Damon tries to explain. I pout and take the magical object from him, causing him to let out a groan.

"We need to look around, Damon, he may not even be able to hear us right now," I remind my mate, who just rolls his eyes and takes a few steps forward.

"This place doesn't really scream prison world, does it?"

"It screams prison world with a side of Gemini bullshit, Damon."

"It was the bullshit that threw me off, angel."

"Of course, Damon, of course."

Normally, the place in which a person was staying in a prison world would be obvious. Then again, normally prison worlds looked more like prison than a small paradise. The place still screamed immortal hellhole with the eerily perfect weather and empty space. Nobody was here. No sign of people or life at all.

The only place that I could think of going was the shopping mall. If I was stuck in a prison world, I would go to the shopping mall and the supermarket. What other places could I spend my time? Then again, this kid has been here for over 20 years or something like that. 1994 to 2012, that's almost 20 years. Imagine being stuck while being alive! I was stuck, but at least I was dead. Being daggered meant that there was just pure nothingness. Then again, I might not have minded being daggered and then sent to this place. It looks nice enough.

In the marketplace I could see what things had been taken. Even if the place looked almost fully stocked, I could smell the small scent of blood on one of the doors to the male bathrooms. Somebody stubbed their toe or hurt their hand. Oops.

"Look, Parker, if you're in here, just come out! I'm here to break you out of this world!" I called out in the building. With my hearing, I could hear a small amount of shuffling right outside of the supermarket. Jackpot.

"Just come out so that we can get back home. My mate needs to get back to her second mate before he goes crazy and strangles you when we get you out," Damon sighs, not wanting to see Stefan when he gets angry. It was a sight to behold. He knew that he couldn't come with and had almost thrown a hissy fit about it, only being calmed by the promise that I wouldn't leave the house for a week after I came back.

"I am not letting Stefan harm one of my own, Damon," I scolded my much taller mate who was messing with one of the cereal boxes on the shelves.

"My mate is a damn siphoner, Parker, she isn't going to destroy you! She's on your fucking side!" Damon tries to get the man to come out of hiding. He was clearly listening in based on his movements. I would have just used my hearing to find him but it could spook him. I doubt that he had anyone to talk to during his time alone.

A few minutes later, a brown haired man who looked to be in his early twenties. What is he, like 22?

"Are you ready to get out or not?" Damon snarks. "Left us waiting long enough, kid."

"You can't possibly know how to get out of this place. You need the ascendant. You're stuck just like me, you idiots," He walks over to me with a crazy look in his eye, "You should be fun to play with if you are a siphoner. How did you survive this life, little girl?"

The fact that he didn't know what I was already made me laugh. Little girl? Baby, I'm over 1000 years old and you call me a little girl? At least you didn't use another pet name in front of my mate. Damon may not be as possessive as Stefan, but if you rile him up. . .

"I'm no little girl and I have the ascendant. I am a lot more powerful than you, Gemini child," Kai laughs and finally looks at the ascendant that I had in my hand. His eyes looked much softer now. "I know that you aren't used to anyone helping you out of binds, but I've been doing it for 1000 years. I have some ancestors of yours back at home that are anxious to meet you. Us siphoners have to stay together."

Kai looked almost touched that someone had actually taken time out of their life to help someone in a prison world. After the initial look of happiness wore off, he took a step back. "How the hell do you know my ancestors? You're like 18!"

"Good lord, do none of the families teach about me anymore? They used to go over me for years in their little witchy curriculum. Child, I was turned at 16," he looked even more confused than before.

"You said 1000 years? You're lying, little girl," I chucked lowly at his accusation. While my honesty was something I prided myself on, I was willing to let his behavior go, as he didn't sound like he knew who he was talking to.

With him moving a bit closer to see into my eyes, I felt my fangs grow in, causing Kai to pull out a knife and stab me with it in fear. I used my magic to tie the siphoner down to a chair. He squirmed, trying to siphon away the magic for himself. I had to throw Damon across the room to save Kai from his wrath. Don't attack someone's mate, kid!

"Damon! Do not attack!" I order my mate, who growls at him.

"Vampire. You two are vampires. You said you were a siphoner!" I shook my head at him.

"I'm no normal vampire, Malachai Parker. Do you know what happens when a siphoner turns into a vampire?" He shook his head. "They become a heretic vampire. The problem with me is that I didn't get turned by a vampire. I got turned by a witch. The Original Witch. I think that you can put the pieces together now."

"The Originals had two sisters," He mumbles. "They never said that one of them was a siphoner. They never mentioned heretics either."

"That's because they know what we can do. We don't have magic of our own, Kai, we take it. The ancestors can't take anything away from us because we don't have it. I know that you were likely treated like shit once you found out about the siphoning, but it doesn't have to be like that. You can have people. You can have a home that isn't a prison," he looks up to me in curiosity.

"What do you have planned, miss heretic?"

"I think that if you apologize for stabbing me then I'd be willing to take you home with us and have you join us. We have 6 siphoners at home. All six of us are vampires as well. You can turn and lose the stupid mortality that holds back your power. As a vampire, you won't need to siphon off of someone else, you can just siphon off of yourself. I'm offering you freedom, Kai Parker," I put the offer in the air.

"I don't work well with others," He admits.

"That's because you've never actually had a group of people who are willing to work with you. These heretics know the shit that you've gone through. We know what it's like. I know what it's like to have your parents turn your back on you and outcast you. I wasn't supposed to even speak to my brothers and sister. We can work past everything that you did in your past. I mean the killing most of your family is really bad, but my brother used to dagger my siblings and we could move past that."

The siphoner boy looks like just that, a boy. He had never been treated like an equal, like he was even worth something. Yes, he might have had sociopathic tendencies, but he was just hurt.

Killers aren't born, they're made.

"Even if you can move past it, nobody else will. What you promise can't happen."

"It can and it will. The Mikaelson family is open to all those who have been mistreated, all of those who have been used and abused by the people that they loved. I know that you may not think you are capable of love, but you are. Things can always change, Kai. Things have changed. The world is growing and so is the family," the kid just lets out a half hearted laugh.

"What do you suppose I do? The only thing I'm good at is killing my family," I sighed.

"I'm building a coven. The heretics were a coven before, but their leader is not welcome back in this world, not after what she did to my mates. We all need a leader. The Originals are looked up to. Nik leads the Hybrids and Finn leads the normal vampires. We have many kinds of Originals. I'm building the Original Coven, the place where all siphoners can feel like they belong. No schemes of power and no listening to the stupid ancestors. It's a safe place where we can all be abominations together. There is strength in family, the chosen more than the biological."

"Kai, my mate is giving you a second chance," Damon almost sounds like he's pleading with the siphoner, "Just let her show you that she's right. For once let someone prove to you that they actually care about what happens with you."

His face was mixed, but his blue grey eyes showed the hope that he felt deep in his heart.

"Just get me out of here, miss heretic."
