Chapter 23

Damn, I've missed writing this story! This chapter on my google docs will officiallyΒ make the 100th page. Just a little check in for all of you, who do you like the most in this series? Don't say Astrid lol. Also, who's worse, Mikael or Elena? Personally I hate Elena more. I hate her so much that I had Astrid torture her lol. This chapter does change the vampire diaries universe so much it'sΒ not even funny. I think you'll like what I have coming.

I had no clue how I was going to bring up what Henrik had said right before his transformation. I didn't even know if the family would believe him. We had been told one thing our whole lives. This would turn our world upside down. Freya, being alive? We thought that she had died of the plague long ago, going beyond. We thought that she had made peace. Turns out, the eldest Mikaelson had not made peace, but had most likely been cursed by some form of immortality like us. Damn, immortality does seem to be a Mikaelson curse. Who would have known? Genetics, am I right?

Thankfully, the job of breaking the news to the family did not fall upon me, as I heard screaming and shouting from downstairs. I ran to the living room where Henrik stood, looking forth at his siblings. Right as he looked at me he said, "Look, Freya is alive. Esther said so. I literally saw her guys. Why would I lie about something like this? Is something like this so hard to believe?"

"Yes," Nik deadpanned, looking angry as ever.

"Look, Mikaelsons, I think that you should listen to Henrik. Has he ever lied to you?" Lexi budded in. She had been staying at the boarding house. I would need to find some time in my day to hang out with her since Stefan would not shut up about her.

"Lexi is right, guys. I know that Freya is a sore subject for us all, but if there is a chance that our older sister is alive, we need to figure out how to find her. She could be anywhere. This won't be easy, but I think that we should allow her back into the family. Nik, I know that you still don't trust anyone fully. Well, everyone but Astrid, but then again, everyone trusts Astrid," Kol points out. I blush as everyone nods.

I walk down the aisle and kiss Damon on the head. My mate lets out a content purr and kisses my cheek.

"Okay, you guys are going to have to stop being so damn cute," Lexi says, mouth agape. "Stefan, how can you stand the cuteness of these two? This is not the Damon that I remember."

"It's the Damon that I remember. Anyways, we need to figure out where she is, what she looks like, and if she even knows about anyone but Elijah and Finn. She would have been five. I don't know if five year olds hold that deep of memories," Stefan states.

"True, Stefan, true," Nik draws out, getting up to do his usual pace of the room. You know, the one that he usually does when he's plotting something. "How do we know that she is trustworthy? If she was raised by another witch, she could very well hate Astrid and I. Witches tend to like Astrid more than myself, as I broke a curse placed on me by another witch, but they do not like Siphoners at all. She could very well be the next Mikael!"

"Freya loves her family. I may have been young when she was taken, but I know that she will love her family more than anything. She loved me and she loved Elijah before he was born. I believe that she will want to help. She did love our father and will be devastated to hear that Astrid had to kill her. We are family, she will care for us just as she once did," Finn says to the room. Elijah looks stressed and Nik looks like he wants to run and hide away to paint his feelings.

"According to Esther, she has a spell on her that will prolong her life. She wakes for a year every 100 years. She will not be awake for another 4 years. This is not a pressing issue per se, but it is a big deal. I think that we need to wait with our knowledge. Nobody can find out about her. Everyone in this room is sworn to secrecy," Henrik informs. The room, including Lexi and my mates, who were just as good as Mikaelsons at this point, nodded.

"Is there any other important information that you have been keeping from us, little brother?" Nik almost sneers at my baby brother. I growl at my older hybrid brother. Now was not the time for hostility towards Henrik, he had to wait before telling us all of Freya, lest we mess things up with Mikael.

"Niklaus, I know that Henrik would have wanted to tell all of us about this. We're family. It would have been unwise to put Astrid and her mates under even more familiar stress, their bonds were still forming and the three of them were very sensitive still," Elijah defends his youngest brother, trying to calm the hybrid.

"Look, I am sorry that I have kept things from you all. I am not used to sharing everything with everyone. I have spent a good 1000 years alone on the other side. I do have more information, if you are willing to hear me out and understand that I am not trying to keep my memories and knowledge from you," Nik gives Henrik an apologetic look as he speaks, nodding his head.

"When I was on the other side, I saw many things. I saw the good, the bad, and the disturbing. Around the mid to late 1800s, I found a coven of witches. Some of these witches suffered the same magical afflictions as Astrid," I gasped. A group of siphoners. A group of siphoners had been somewhere, "These siphoners were cast out by the Gemini Coven. The coven had heard of the term heretic from the legends about Astrid and deemed them as such. These siphoners formed their own coven, led by a woman named Lily. I never heard her last name, as she never seemed to want to use it. She was not a siphoner, but a normal vampire."

They could have turned! They could have been turned into vampires like me! "The siphoners were eventually turned. The problem is, they're stuck. A type of prison. If we can get them out, Astrid could potentially have people like her that could truly teach her how to use her type of magic. Unfortunately, the woman, Lily, seems to carry the ripper gene. She seemed older, let's hope she never had any kids, the ripper gene can pass down," Henrik and Kol laugh. Stefan and Damon look very uncomfortable.

"Hah, our mom was named Lily, but she died a long time ago. Wonder what this woman is like. Are we planning to break her out of the prison world?" Damon asks Henrik.

"I think that it would be a good thing to have them out. Imprisoning someone because of something that they could not control is cruel. The Gemini coven should be ashamed of themselves. I have heard of their practices. They literally have twins just so they can try and kill each other when they turn 22. I mean, who the hell does that? Do they have any sense of familial bond?" Kol questions their practices as Nik just sits in silence.

"Okay, so we break them out? Who says that they won't try and kill you guys?" Lexi asks honestly. It was a good question. Who knows if these heretic vampires would want to kill us or be friends with us.

"I doubt that they would kill a fellow siphoner," Finn points out, "Astrid has a way with people. I bet that she will be able to help with this. She knows what it's like to be treated badly because of what she is. Nik might be able to talk to them as well. He was treated terribly as well."
"Then it's a go! Project Heretic Hell Breakout is underway!" Kol cheers. This is going to be such fun.
