Chapter thirty one
Ten Years Later..

Ivy Reid and Spencer have been happily married for nine years, there life couldn't be more perfect. Ivy now works for the BAU as a cell phone operator which means she has time to spend with Spencer and time to spend at home with there two children. Ivy never knew if she wanted kids but when she found out she was pregnant it felt like the right time to have one, she was financially stable and she was in a loving marriage to the person she wanted to spend her life with and she knew how much Spencer wanted to be a father and seeing him with Amara and Blake always makes her love him even more.

"Ivy come in here please we have a surprise for you" Spencer called from the kitchen as her 8 and 6 year old giggled quietly.

"I'm coming as fast as I can" she replied as she walked down the hallway.

Ivy couldn't see where she was going because of how dark the kitchen was and she couldn't seem to find the light switch but before she knew it all three of them had begun singing happy birthday to her as the candles on her birthday cake lit up the room.

"Happy birthday mammy we love you lots" Blake sang as Amara jumped up into Ivy's arm's.

"Oh my god I love you all so much... thank you" she replied as she snuggled into Amara.

"Mammy can we go to the park today" Blake asked as he looked up at her.

"Of course we can but how would you feel if we stopped by Grandad's house first" Ivy asked him as he shook his head excitedly.

"Yes yes yes... yay I'm going to get ready now" he spoke happily as he ran off to his room.

"Is it okay with you too if we go to Grandad's" Ivy whispered to Amara as she nodded in agreement.

"Yes mama" the little girl answered as Ivy put her down gently on the floor.

"Okay can you do me a big favor and pick out you're clothes for me and I'll be into you in just a minute" Ivy spoke softly as Amara giggled and waddled away.

"I didn't know we were going to Hotch's today" Spencer questioned as Ivy looked over at him.

"Yeah he sent me a text message saying to come over... something about him and Jack giving me a birthday present" she answered as Spencer pulled her into a hug.

"Happy birthday beautiful" he whispered into her ear as she gave him a quick kiss.

"Okay can you make sure Blake is dressed properly and I'll go get Amara ready... we leave in twenty minutes" she ordered as Spencer smiled brightly.

"Anything for the birthday girl" he called as she laughed and closed Amara's door behind her.

Ivy arrived at her dads house fifteen minutes late but trying to get Amara out the door is impossible. Spencer and the kids walked in the door first as Ivy parked the car into Hotch's driveway, she made her way to the front door and a soon as she stepped into the house everyone shouted happy birthday.

"Oh my god... I nearly had a heart attack" she laughed as she looked around at all her friends and family.

"Happy birthday Ivy" Olivia called as she pulled her best friend into a hug.

"You all really didn't need to go to all this trouble" Ivy spoke softly as everyone took turns in giving her a hug.

"Truth be told I just wanted an excuse to see these two little munchkins" Caitlin called out as she hugged the two children tightly.

"Did you know this was happening" Ivy asked Spencer as he nodded in agreement.

"Yes I most certainly did and I know you don't have to tell me I'm a fantastic secret keeper" Spencer spoke confidently as Derek smacked him in the arm.

"Please I've been making sure all week that you don't accidentally let it slip... basically without me this whole thing would have been ruined" Derek laughed as Penelope began to talk.

"I swear to god baby cakes you make it seem like you done all the hard work... me and JJ basically organized this whole thing by ourselves" she spoke confidently as Hotch began to disagree.

"Excuse you I went through a lot of trouble to get you all here so I deserve some credit too" he answered back as Ivy began to laugh.

"Thank you all so much for doing this... it means a lot" she smiled as Emily walked over to her.

"I'm going to be honest I didn't do anything for this party but just pretend that I did because now I feel like shit" she laughed as Ivy hugged her.

"Don't worry about it I'll pretend you done it all on you're own" Ivy replied as everyone began to mingle.

"So how do you like you're party" Rossi asked as he began to pour some wine in her glass.

"I love it thank you" she answered honestly as he gave her a light hearted smile.

"I'm so happy that you and Reid got you're happy ending... hold onto it as tightly as possible and don't let it go" he spoke sternly as she looked him in the eye.

"I have no intention of ever letting him go... I assure you that" she smiled brightly as he patted her on the back.

Ivy loved every single person in this room, her whole life she's been surrounded by the best bunch of people she could have ever asked for. Jack was sitting on the sofa watching telly when Ivy sat down beside him.

"I hope you know how proud I am of you" she spoke softly as he paused the show he was watching.

"I know you are... I'm proud of you too" he replied as he looked up into her eyes.

"Hayley would be extremely proud of how far you've come... I know sometimes you don't like to talk about it too much but I just want you to know that's it's okay to miss her at family gatherings like this... it's normal to miss you're mom" she mumbled as she smiled sadly down at him.

"Do you miss her" he asked as she nodded her head.

"All the time... I think about her when I'm putting Amara and Blake to sleep... I think about how she raised me as her own and how much of a great mother she was to you and me and I'm grateful to have had her in my life" Ivy answered as he looked down at the floor.

"I know you wish she was here... we all do but she's here with us in here" Ivy spoke softly as she pointed to his heart.

"I know" he mumbled as Ivy pulled him into a hug.

"If you ever want to talk about her I'm here and so is dad... maybe we could spend a day going through her things... old pictures and videos how does that sound" Ivy whispered into his ear.

"Yeah actually I'd like that" he answered sincerely as he smiled up at her.

"Okay then we'll do that... for now though why don't you join the rest of us" she smiled down at him as he got up of the sofa and joined the rest of them.

"You're great with him" Hotchner spoke up as she turned around to face him.

"He's just upset that she can't be here... I understand him and so do you... he loves you very much and so do I for that matter" she muttered as she gave him a big hug.

"I just want you to know how proud I am of you... you're a fantastic mother" he told her as she looked up at him.

"We'll I had the best parents to learn from" she smiled brightly as he squeezed her tightly.

"I have to run to the toilet real quick I'll join the rest of you in a minute" she mumbled as she made her way to the bathroom.

Ivy wasn't sure if she was pregnant again but she was pretty sure she missed her period. Spencer and Ivy weren't planning on having another child but they weren't against the idea either. Ivy waited a few minutes on the results and as the seconds went by she thought of all her friends and family finding out she was pregnant again and Spencer being as excited as he was the first two times and how her two little kids would have another baby brother or sister coming. Ivy finally plucked up the courage to turn around the pregnancy test and to her surprise it was positive.
