CHAPTER TWO!
"selection II"

🎸  .  .  .  . RYAN / HARDING HIGH

RYAN loved his school. So when the day came he was more than excited to go and meet his friends again.

They still hung out during the summer but it wasnt the same as literally living with them for a year.

Ryan kissed his mother goodbye and headed for the car. He was getting a ride from his best friend's dad.

Chris couldnt contain his excitment so he got out of the car and hugged Ryan.
"Ry! My bro." Ryan hugged him back.

Chris was Ryan's best friend in the whole world. They were always together no matter what.

Harding high was a high school for students who loved performing and loved arts. A school fit for everyone of those preferences. It was a second home to Ryan.

The front yard of the campus was filled with students holding their bags and belongings.

From the microphone Madam Lorena announced " students please attend the first meeting of the year."

"Damn we just arrived." Christian says.

Ryan tilts his head confused as they take a seat in the auditorium.

Madam Lorena, stepped onto the stage.

She held a small box in her hands, a mysterious glint in her eyes.

"Students," she announced, her voice carrying through the auditorium, "before we begin, I have a special surprise."

With a dramatic flourish, she showed what the box was for. "As you know the rivalry between our school and Alderidge high has been going on for quite some time. This year its going to be held in their campus since they won last year."

The whole room boo-ed. As they began chanting "HARDING HIGH! HARDING HIGH!"

"Thank you for the spirit. Now onto the names."

Ryan's heart raced as Madam Lorena began to call out names, one by one, each corresponding to a student chosen to represent Harding High in the upcoming competition.

He held his breath, hoping to hear his name called.

"Josephine Hudson," Madam Lorena announced, a smile spreading across her face as Josephine stepped forward, a mixture of excitement and nerves evident in her expression.

"Ryan Collins," Madam Lorena continued, and Ryan felt a surge of pride and excitement as he made his way to the stage, his friends cheering him on from the wings.

"Christian Foster," Madam Lorena called next, followed by Seraphina O'Neill and Travis Millar.

As each name was announced, the auditorium erupted into applause, the excitement and anticipation reaching a fever pitch.

Ryan exchanged triumphant grins with his friends as they gathered on stage, united in their determination to make Harding High proud. With Madam Lorena's guidance and support, they were ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead, their names now etched in history as the chosen representatives of their school.

"Please follow me outside." She said as they followed.

"miss where are we going?" The blonde asks. Sera. Her name was Sera.

"the cars are waiting."

Josephine raised an eyebrow. "What cars?"

Madam Lenora smiled. "You're going to stay at Alderidge high until the competition ends."

"WHAT?!"  Ryan says his voice a bit loud.

"Come on now not too many questions." Madam Lorena says as she shows them the cars.

Ryan gets in a car with Christian and Josie. "what?" She says cause Ryan had been staring at her.

He snaps out of his trance. "nothing sorry."

The ride to the rival school was very quiet and awkward. The driver wasnt the most friendly.

When they got there there were tons of students entering the premise of the schools. He had to admit the school was huge and very pretty.

There a brunette boy with glasses waited for them. "Hello and welcome to Alderidge High. Im Dante the school's president. Im going to give  you a tour of the school and the dorm you'll be staying in."

Dante walks in front of them as they walk in silence. "This the buliding containing classes about musical instruments. Over to the right is the science departament. And to the left there's the acting classes and stage."

Josie's mouth was open from shock and Ryan could agree with that. Harding high had a big campus but it didnt compare to this one. One more reason to prove they're better.

"Guys i need you to find me if i get lost." Travis says and Sera laughs.

The dorm they were staying in were huge. Sera was the first to go in the common room as spins around in awe.
She opens a door revealing a big room consisting of a bed, a desk, shelves foe books, stands for instruments.

"I call this room! This is mine." She says grinning.

"Sure Sera." Travis says.

After Dante had showed them everything he had left them alone. So Christian and Ryan had decided to take a walk.

"im so bored already." Christian says rolling his eyes.

"real. i couldnt wait to attend Mrs. Knox's class." Ryan says as he puts his hands in his pockets.

A bell rang signaling the start of the school year. That meant they had only 15 minutes free and then classes would start.

"lets head back Chris." Ryan says but Chris was totally hypnotised by something- or rather someone.

"Chris?"

Ryan turns his head around to see Chris looking at - "emmy?"

It was Emmaline . . . the girl he grew up with, shared tons of memories, the girl he had always loved.

"Ryan?"  She said confused. "Its really you!"

Emmy ran and hugged him tightly as he got still. "Are you attending Alderidge high this year?" She asked but before answering Emmy realised. "you're our competition."

Chris on the other hand wasnt speaking at all. " you're a singer?"

Emmy nodded "yep. Well im supposed to hate you somehow. so thats something."

"I suppose so." Ryan says his voice cold, scared to show any emotion.

"whats your name?" Chris asks Emmy clearly not following the "rules" that they're supposed to hate each other.

"Oh, my name's Emmaline." She says smiling. "Well i' ll leave you to whatever you were doing."

This will be difficult.
