"I can't believe you're moving away, how come you couldn't go to college here?" David asked helping me pack. "David, you know that it has always been my dream to go here." I said. "I know but I wanna see you, I'm really going to miss you." He said. I gave him a gentle kiss and we pulled away. "I'm going to miss you too babe." I said. He smiled and I could see tears forming in his eyes. He let one fall and he sniffled. "Davey... come here." I said giving him a hug. "Please don't go." He said into my shoulder. "I have to, this isn't easy for me either, I'm leaving my family, friends, and you." I said.

He looked at me and wiped his eyes. "That's why you should stay! It wouldn't be that far of a drive to visit either." He said. I chuckled and rubbed his cheek softly. "How is long distance going to work? What if you find someone else? I don't wanna loss you." He pleaded. My heart broke to see him like this. "We're going to make this work, you aren't going to lose me." I said. He nodded and then helped me finish packing.

The next day I was leaving. I was super sad about leaving but a little happy to go to my dream college. I looked over at David who had spent the night with me, he told me that he wanted me in his arms for one last night. I kissed his forehead gently which woke him up. "Today's the day." I said stroking his hair. He sighed and rubbed my back. "Goodbye y/n." He said sadly. "Save the goodbyes for when I'm in my car." I told him. He nodded and gave me a kiss.

I took a shower and everything and David helped me with my bags as we went downstairs. My mom and dad were looking at me with sad expressions. They both gave me a hug and I could feel the tears start to form in my eyes. I'm not going to cry just yet. We walked outside to my car where I saw all of my friends. Zane and Heath were the first ones to run up and give me a hug. I chuckled and hugged them. "Good luck out there." Zane said. "I told myself I wasn't gonna cry." Heath said fanning his face. I giggled and they smiled at me. Everyone else came up and gave me a hug and said bye which was making me more and more sad.

The last one to say goodbye was David. He gave me a cheesy smile which made me chuckle. I hugged him tightly, wrapping my arms around his neck as he wrapped his around my waist. "I'm gonna miss you so much baby." He said. "Me too Davey." I said. I didn't want to ever let him go, I wanted him to hold me in his arms for as long as possible but I knew that couldn't happen. We looked at each other and kissed, this would be our last kiss for a while. We pulled away and then he kissed my forehead gently. "I love you y/n." He said. "I love you too David." I said.

"Oh! I almost forgot." He said pulling something out of his pocket. He got down on one knee and I gasped. Everyone cheered and he smiled at me. "Promise me that once we both finish college and you come back home, that you'll marry me, I want you to be mine forever y/n." He said. "I promise." I said. He smiled and then slipped the ring onto my finger. "That's our boy!" Zane said. We both laughed at him and I smiled at David. He smiled back and then I looked at everyone and sighed. I got in my car and started it and waved everyone goodbye. I drove off and started crying from happiness and sadness.
