Chapter Thirty One:
The Celestial Spirit King

"It was my fault, I've lived with the guilt ever since when someone dies they're gone forever, sometimes so wish I could bring her back it's just not possible" Loke said solemnly

He had just explained to Anna his past life, to which she felt as she live it herself alone tear that she had been keeping in escaped as the pity surrounded her

"The only way I could make things right is if I were to die too.." he admitted before grunting falling to the floor his body began to fade

"NO! PLEASE LOKE!" The celestial mage cried out as she sat by Loki's side bringing him to her embrace

"It's my time... to disappear" he says weakly lightly laughing "Karen... ever since that day I've been banned from the celestial world, when I killed Karen I broke a fundamental law now I have to pay the price...."

'No no no no no!' Anna cried out mentally as she watched in complete horror as Loke's hands began to slowly fade away

"Not a day goes by that I don't think about her and what I did, I tried to stay distracted so it won't constantly be on my mind but it's like she's haunting me..... I've been waiting for this for my magic energy to run out" he chuckled lowly

'This can't be it... he should know that if one star falls from its continent then so shall the others' Anna closed her eyes her hands turned into fist as both anger sadness consumed her

"And now it's about to happen right here in front of Karen's grave, then I'll be free from the guilt that's burdened me" he stated firmly before glancing at Anna "before I go I want to thank you"

The celestial mage looked up at the male with tears leaking from her red puffy eyes "you've restored my faith in celestial wizards, please tell everyone in faith tail I said goodbye...."

"I can help you! I won't let you die!" Anna stated firmly while Loke stared at the blonde shocked at the words she had spoken "I can summon your king! Please!" She begged

"There's nothing you can do Anna, It's too late please just let me go" he pleaded only to be pulled into the blondes arms once more

"NO! KAREN DIDN'T DIE BECAUSE OF YOU! YOU DIDN'T USE YOUR BARE HANDS TO KILL HER! SHE DIED ON A JOB BECAUSE SHE HAD NO SPIRITS TO HELP HER!" She screamed while Loke's eyes widened as a gold light emitted around them both

"OPEN GATE OF THE CELESTIAL KING I DEMAND AN AUDIENCE AT ONCE!" She screamed using up a large amount of her magical energy as the light shot into the night sky as magical static energy escaped

'No..... how did she do that it's not possible!' Loke thought amazed by the blondes power however his heart beats rapidly in fear he could sense she was using almost all of her magical energy

"ANNA DON'T ITS NOT WORTH IT!" He pleaded but Anna merely shook her head her face dry with tears her body convulsed in pain yet she didn't care

Suddenly the light vanished the two fell backwards landing on the hard ground Loke's eyes widened watching the stars in the sky move rapidly the star around them rose as a large cry was heard

"That's impossible..." Loki gasped seeing the celestial spirit king standing there right before his very eyes the ruling spirit whom he hadn't seen in years.

"Hello my old friend as you both know wizards and spirits must obey the celestial law and taking the life of a key holder?" That caused Loke to stare at the ground in shame and guilt "is forbidden under any circumstance though not by your hand you are still responsible for your key holders death"

"OH I CALL BULLSHIT!" Anna snapped gaining the kings attention while Loke stared at the blonde in disbelief

"I have named my judgement as it stands Anna Heartfilia, Leo has broken celestial law" the king stated firmly both spirit and Mage then had a staring competition

"Seriously old man are you that brainless? Leo did not kill Karen! She was abusing her spirits mentally and physically especially Aries!" She snapped taking a step forward ignoring Loke calling out for her to stop

"I must say... I find it heartbreaking to see my own friend in such a fragile condition" he drawled only to get a rock thrown right at him by the blonde

"he's your friend right? I ask you give him a second chance to redeem himself you... you.... Poirot wannabes!" Anna exclaimed blurting out the best comeback at the celestial king

"Poirot.... Wannabe?" The celestial king repeated slowly scrunching his brows together in confusion

"Umm..... Anna?" Loke asked only to be ignored seeing the determined look within her eyes he kept silent

"Listen old man! Karen took a job that she could not handle, Loki had nothing to do with it in fact he went looking for her but was too late! So I demand you change the verdict of an clearly innocent man!" She snapped as a gold glow began to surround her

Loke watched in complete shocked seeing all of the spirits of the Zodiac Anna possesses now standing around her watching him with a warm smile the celestial king watched intrigued

"Remember what you said at the bath house? If a star falls it can never go back to heaven? But that isn't true if a star falls then the others will soon follow behind!" She practically screamed before her spirits went back to the celestial world one by one

"Hmm just as I suspected from the daughter of Layla Heartfilia, after much needed thought and hearing you speak so highly of my old friend had led me to think maybe it is not his actions but the law itself" the king stated strongly

"The law is wrong! It doesn't even make sense for both spirit nor Wizard! If a spirit is to kill their key holder it should be by their own hands which was not the case with Loke and Karen" Anna exclaimed suddenly seated on a chair that appeared from thin air

"I must say I am deeply moved by your bonds of loyalty and shall make an exception in this case Leo the lion you are given passage to return to the celestial world" the king concluded

Loke stared at the king in complete shock not believing his ears, Anna lunged at Loke catching him by surprise as both human and spirit cried within one another's embrace

"Thank you old man! Hey wanna finish the game of chest that was rudely interrupted by my sister?" Anna questioned as soon as she pulled away from Loke while the celestial king grinned

"I won't lose to you!" The king roared triumphant while Loke dead panned at the scary scene before him before he stared at Anna with a knowing glint within his eyes 

'So... you're the one'

"YOU'RE A CELESTIAL SPIRIT!?" Natsu shouted out in complete disbelief as soon as Anna summoned Loke from his key

"Sorry I didn't tell ya before!" Loke replied sheepishly rubbing the back of his head while Anna brought him a vanilla milkshake to which he thanked

"AHA! So that must be why I felt so weird whenever we switched bodies!" Natsu exclaimed as he circled the celestial spirit with a pointed look

"Yeah I guess so" Loke chuckled taking a small sip of his drink

"I gotta say I'm surprised I never caught onto you but.... No offence like but Anna's other spirits look totally hot why are you still well you?" Gray questioned the orange haired male who glanced at Anna who was talking with Mirajane

"Well usually we take form into our key holders likings with with Anna she needs to send 50% of her magic into our key for us to ya know? Gain more abilities hence why Taurus is so buff and Aquarius well.... Her" He explained

"So how come your not a cow, a horse or crab your just a dude?" Natsu asked dumbly

"Virgo has a human form too it's not like we're all animals" the lion spirit pointed out

"Yeah you say that but I've seen her turn into a gorilla!" Natsu exclaimed only to gain a bonk on the head by Anna

"As it turns out Loke is the Lion Zodiac known as Leo" she informed which caused both dragon slayer and exceed's eyes to sparkle in amazement more so Happy.

"Shouldn't you be resting up at the spirit world right now?" Gray questioned as Happt began to druel on Loke's shoulder

"I'm doing a lot better than I was, I just wanted to come say hi and I couldn't wait to see Anna again" He replied wrapping his arms around the mage's waist "isn't that right my queen?" He purred causing her to blush

"Please stop it with the Queen thing...and besides I need you to get to full health until I can give ya a boost" Anna stated firmly to the spirit Who then began to rummage through his pockets

"These are tickets to this awesome beach resort I gathered that since you did so much for me that it's the least I could do" he smiled handing the group a ticket each to which they took

Anna watched as Natsu and Gray began to cheer loudly dancing around the guild hall while Erza appeared in a swimsuit a large amount of luggage behind her

"I must say I've gained the courage to move on from my past, it's time for me to start fresh ya know? I have faith that you will be as strong as she was" Loke stated his body began to fade away but before it did he pecked Anna's cheek

'Stupid cat' she thought a small giggle escaped her lips as she followed her team ready for their next adventure.... But right after their well deserved vacation
