CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

"A necklace, what else would it be?" I glared, crossing my arms.

He roughly gripped me by my arm, making me stand up. His jaw tensed as his eyes pierced into mine, and the vein on his forehead looked like it was ready to pop out.

"Don't f*cking play dumb with me, how did you get this." His eyes darkened; he looked like he wanted to kill me.

"I got it at the- the gift shop! Let go of me." I trembled trying to loosen from his grip, but he only tightened his grip.

"I'd never allow f*cking trash on MY Island." He snarled.

My eyes fell to the floor, "Andrei is not trash." I mumbled under my breath, but he heard it.

There was a silent pause until a sharp sting landed across the side of my face. Did he just h-hit me?

My mouth opened slightly, yet nothing came out. Violent tears rolled down my skin, as his eyes bored into mine.

"This is not a f*cking vacation, get that through your tiny brain." He shouted, letting go of my arm, making me stumble backwards against the wall.

"I'm always trying to protect you and you go behind my back and pull sh*t like this." He growled.

"I'm so tired of you." He grumbled; he kept his fists clenched at his sides.  "All you do is cause everyone trouble. I've never seen anyone act more stupid than you." He snapped.

More tears flowed out of my eyes; I'm not stupid.

"I hate you." I whispered through my sobs.

His eyes darkened, and he shook his head.

"You know what? I'm calling Ezra, he won't put up with you. Maybe when you come back, you'll learn how to behave." He grumbled, as he walked out of my room, slamming the door shut behind him.

I winced at the sound.

He's worse than Gaston.

My mind felt hazy, what does he mean when I get back? Who's Ezra? I slowly bent down to pick up the necklace he threw on the floor. I slipped it into my back pocket, and I grabbed the credit card from the drawer.

I glanced in the mirror, the left side of my face was covered in red. I lightly brushed the side of my hand against the sting. I tightly shut my eyes.

He hit me, he actually hit me.

I let out a shaky breath, my vision was clouded with my tears. I slid Leo's grey sweatshirt over my head, and I tugged on the sleeves making them go over my hands.

I ran outside of the hotel; it was completely dark by now. I kept my arms wrapped around myself, I tried to seek comfort from Leo's hoodie, but the tears wouldn't stop pooling out of my eyes.

I crouched down by the water, and I threw a rock as far as I possibly could into the ocean. I wish I could throw Alessandro in the ocean.

"Chiara? What's wrong?" A voice called from behind me, I could tell it was Andrei from his accent.

I didn't bother to look up, I was too lost in thought. I heard him sit down beside me, he wrapped an arm around my shoulder, and I let him. I began crying harder, I don't care if Alessandro says he's bad, at least he doesn't hurt me.

"What's wrong, darling?" He whispered, as he gently played with my hair.

"Alessandro is so, so mean, I hate him." I cried.

"What did he do?" He questioned, his voice was soft and calming.

"What doesn't he do." My voice cracked, as I sunk into his touch.

"Things will get better, my love, I promise." He reassured.

I whispered, "I don't think they will."

We sat in silence for five minutes, as he continued to hold me and play with my hair.

"Oh, I have your card." I sniffled, as I stood up to get it from my pocket.

"Thank you, love." He said with a grin. "Come, I have something to cheer you up."

"You do?" I asked hesitantly. "If it's the hot spring I d-"

"It's better than that." He smirked.

He held out his hand for me to take and I took it.

Alessandro is so wrong about everything, if he saw Andrei, he would know he's not trash. Alessandro is the trash.

We began walking towards the trail by the volleyball court, the one he's been so eager for me to walk into.

I squinted my eyes as we began walking through the woods, it wasn't really a trail because you could only go straight. As I squinted my eyes further, I saw what appeared to be a boat and maybe a few men?

My breathing began to pick up, why are we walking here?

His hand around my back became a bit tighter and I tensed under his touch.

"Relax my love, you will love what I will show you." He murmured into my ear.

"A-Andrei, this is really lovely of you, but I need to go back now." I awkwardly laughed, as I felt my stomach flip and twist.

"Shh, there's no need. Your brothers are a*sh*les, no? Who cares if you go back a bit late." He reassured.

Yet his words only made my skin crawl.

I stepped back expecting his arm to leave my back but instead he tried to grab me by my waist.

"W-what are you doing?" My lip wobbled, as he tried to grab me.

I began kicking him and screaming.

"Help!" I shouted as loud as I possibly could, my voice slightly echoed in the woods.

"Shut up, you b*tch." He shouted as he tried to pin me down. I took a quick glance towards the boat, the men started jogging over to his aid.

He wants to kidnap me.

I managed to slip through his grip, and I ran and ran and ran. My legs were on fire, they could snap at any given moment. Andrei was still on my tail, he desperately tried to catch me, but I was more desperate to get away. He might be taller and have longer legs, but I was more driven to get away then he was to catch me.

As I neared the hotel, I didn't hear his breathing or shouts anymore, only mine. I practically threw myself into the elevator and I frantically pressed the button to close the door.

I shakingly stepped out of the elevator and ran into our room, as soon as I entered my legs collapsed and I slumped against the door.

My sobs came out all shaky.

Alessandro was right.

I clenched my eyes shut as I heard footsteps coming from the stairs.

"What did you do now?" He angrily grumbled.

I peered my eyes open to see Alessandro.

"Y-you- y-you w-were-" I couldn't even form my own words properly.

I felt disguising, his hands were all over me and his words wouldn't leave my mind, I need to scrub them off.

Alessandro stood me up by my arm and threw me over his shoulder, he took me outside into the halls.

"W-where are we going?" I whispered through my tears.

He ignored me and continued walking until we reached the elevator.

"Can I have a h-hug?" I trembled, I know I shouldn't want a hug from him, but I feel so empty and lost. I'd take a hug from anyone at this point.

"Maybe when you come back, you'll be more respectful and you will listen to me, maybe then you'll deserve a hug." He spat.

"Where are you taking me?" I sobbed.

He didn't answer me, and I let my head hang down low, I'm so stupid.

"I want Leo." I cried.

He shook his head, "And I want you to behave, guess we don't get everything we want, do we?"

"It was a mistake." I whispered, as my eyes scanned the outside, Andrei was nowhere to be found.

"Everything you do is a mistake." He tsked.

I closed my eyes, where is Leo?

We reached the boat, Alessandro's boat. He roughly set me onto the padded bench and walked off without sparring me another glance as tears streamed down my face.
