I closed my eyes shut drinking down all the agony which had welled up in my heart.

"Damon, Umm - Can you drop me at my place? I would've asked jason but you see he is busy on stage... " I utter while massaging my temples.

"Hey, you okay?! " Damon cupped my cheeks and titled my face upwards. He stared down at my eyes and sighed, "Listen Scarlett... I don't know what to say but if you are thinking about what happened on stage then — " Before Damon could continue his sentence I jerked myself away from him.

"It's okay if you don't want to drop me... I can take a cab. " I announced turning around but was stopped when a hand held my wrist firmly.

"I will drop you. "

Both I and Damon ambled towards the auditorium door, I took in a deep breath and turned around to look at the stage. Xavier and Norah stood at the centre posing at the camera...

I felt numb within...

After reaching home, I took a quick shower and sprawled on bed with chocolates, doritos while FRIENDS was playing on the screen.

I veiled the duvet around me like cocoon. Albeit my eyes were gazing at the screen but my mind replayed the scene from act... Huffing I shake my head a little.

Suddenly a knock on the door broke my reveries.

"Who? "

"Katniss... "

I slowly pulled myself out of bed and strolled towards the mirror, taking one last glance at my fatigue figure I sighed moving towards the door. Katniss will understand something is wrong with me in a heart beat.

I hauled the door wide open and was welcomed by not only Katniss but xavier, norah, Jason and Damon.

I averted my gaze towards Damon who was now leisurely leaning against the wall. When his eyes met mine he mouthed ' I'm sorry '

"What on earth happened to you?! " Katniss lunged towards me pulling me inside the room and closing the door shut.

"I don't want to see anyone of them for now... " I leisurely paced back towards the bed.

Katniss eyed me with suspicion, "Alright then. It means I have to stay with you tonight... I will ask all of them to leave "

I sat at balcony peering at the clear dark sky without stars.

"Tomorrow is prom night, I hope you're not planning to miss it. " Katniss slumped down next to me after handling me a mug of coffee.

"I don't know, " I say in rather disinterested tone.

"Let me tell you something which will cheer your mood. Jason asked me out finally... " She muttered while vivid glow daubed on her face. Be it some other instance, I would've danced out of joy but now all I did was smile legitimately and pulled her into a bear hug.

I'm happy for my brother and my best friend.

"When did this happen?! " I asked pulling away from her.

"Well, there is lot I have to say but for now let's keep this aside. Tell me who messed with you? " She folded her hand in front of her chest.

"I don't want to speak about this topic... " I avert my gaze back towards the sky.

"Jeez, alright... Now c'mon let me select a matching jewellery for your prom dress! "

"Did you speak with xavier? " Katniss asked while styling my hair.

"No... I know I'm acting childish but I couldn't speak or text him back "

"Did he text you?! " She enquired

"Mm-hmm, he texted but I didn't reply... Every time that particular scene from the act pops up in front of my eyes. "

"Lemme see your messages. " with that she walked towards the table and picked my phone. After scanning through my phone she looked at me with one brow raised, "You ignored his messages? Let me read them for you... "

She started reading messages loud.

Xavier - where are you scar? 
2:00 pm

Xavier - All okay? I heard you left with Damon! Why didn't call me?
3:00 pm

Xavier - Pick my call scar... !
3:30 pm

Xavier - Your eyes looked swollen, did you cry?
5:10 pm

Xavier - Scar don't do this baby... Speak to me... What are you thinking?
6:00 pm

Xavier - I can't sleep.
10:00 pm

Xavier - I don't know what happened... But let's speak and sort out...
11:15 pm

Xavier - Don't think much... Good night...
11:20 pm

Xavier - Remember I'm always there for you.
12:00am

Xavier - You're only one for me..
12:01 pm

Xavier - you don't want to attend prom with me?
05:00 am

Xavier - We are speaking today at any cost scar... Now this is going out of my control...
8:00 am

"God scar, do you have any plan of killing this guy huh?! " Katniss placed the phone in front of me while folding her hand in front of her chest.

"I don't know... I wanted some time that's all." I utter while looking at my nails.

"Care to explain why Damon is coming to pick you? It should be Xavier right? "

"I don't know, I'm sure Norah and Damon have spoken about this so - " I trailed off.

Just then horn honked outside my home announcing Damon's presence.

I and damon walked inside the Hall hand in hand. The entire place was gleaming with different colored lights. A huge mesmerizing dance floor was set up at the centre with a colored fountain surrounding the dance floor. On the stage , the splendid crowns of homecoming queen and king were placed.

We made our way towards our friends. Jason and katniss were laughing at something.

"You've a lot to explain " I said walking towards my brother who smirked pulling me in his embrace.

"I'm sure you're happy cause you always wanted this right? " He chuckled patting my head.

"And you also know if you mess with her , you're going to deal with my wrath... "

Jason raised his hand in the air surrendering , " I don't have death wish. "

"What did we miss?! " Norah voice pierced my eardrum.

"Nothing ! Just to tell you in brief our mission jas-kat is finally accomplished... " I batted my eyelids pouting.

"Really? That was quick. Anyways you are looking amazing! " She hugged me while taking place next to me.

"Thank you and you look beautiful..." I complimented her.

All the while I felt xavier intense gaze on me but I didn't look in his direction. We will speak but not here. Not in front of others.

A pin drop silence sweeped the surrounding when principal started speaking at the microphone.

"Good evening everyone... Without killing much of the time with my speech I would directly jump to most important part of tonight...So, our homecoming king and queen of this year are — Jason Henderson and Katniss Lightwood... "

Applause erupted which was accompanied with people's cheering.

"Am I dreaming?! " Katniss whispered in my ear, her face filled with doubts.

"Go on stage silly. " I pushed Katniss in the front.

My brother and my best friend were crowned as homecoming queen and king.

"Aww they look so good together " I muttered peering at them with joy.

"They definitely look good together!" came a gravely calm voice from behind me. I need not to turn back to know who it was. I very well knew this scent. I felt his presence behind me. I could feel heat radiating from his body, at the very instant my heart beat hastened.

Xavier leaned closer to my ear from behind, "We need to talk scar and I won't allow you to escape this time."

The way words rolled from his lips and the tone of his voice made me breath harshly. His voice was authoritative.

I stood like a statue without moving. He placed his hand on the side of my waist pushing his body more closer to mine. I swallowed hard whilst closing my eyes, "After party you will wait for me at parking lot. Alright? " He asked, his hot breath hit the bare skin of my neck making me shudder a little.

Bravo! Today is the day I decided to style my hair into a bun.

I nod slightly.

"You're looking beautiful...Like always. " He said, placing a soft kiss on the base of my neck. A shiver coursed down my spine. I inhale deeply while fisting my dress.
