Chapter 20

We carried Theo all the way back into the hotel. Aurora wasn't of much help, since she sensed Theo radiating heat energy and if she got close she was afraid she would melt.

When we arrived, we put Theo into his and Lukas's room, and the rest of us went into me and Skylar's room to have a so called "meeting."

The girls sat car distance from each other, one sitting on the very corner of the bed and the other sitting on the other corner of the other bed.

Lukas sat on the chair, and I sat on the table.

"What's the plan now?" I asked, fiddling with one of the many books on the table.

"We leave this psycho here and go on!" Skylar screamed like it was obvious.

"No, we leave this psycho here and leave!" Aurora objected.

"We settled this!" Lukas said in such a deep voice I almost fell off the table. "Both of you are coming? Any other objections?"

The girls looked like they would throw each other out the window, but Lukas's stare brought them into play.

"Good. Now rest up, dinner's going to be served here in the hotel apparently," he said.

"So we went through that whole thing for no reason," I pointed out.

Lukas looked at me like You, too, man?

I stuck out my hand apologetically and he nodded in understanding.

"Alright so we fly to Rome, we find the door, look for the Cursed Lands, look for a way back and ta-da handy dandy right?" I asked.

"It won't be as simple as you said, Leon," Skylar said.

"Well, duh, he can tell," Aurora rolled her eyes.

"Shut your-!"

Before Skylar could finish, Lukas electrocuted them both with his hands. I couldn't believe how strange it looked for many tiny lightning bolts to shoot out of his hands and shock them.

They both lay unconscious on the beds.

"Dude!" I jumped off the table. "What are you doing?!"

"I didn't kill them," he calmly replied. "Just gave enough volts to shut them up. I've had enough today."

He stormed out the room and left me alone with two unconscious girls. I hoped he would get better the next day, because I was missing cheerful and funny Lukas.

It was uncomfortable trying to watch the TV when two girls were on each seating. I would've sat next to Skylar, but she was occupying the space of the whole bed, as well as Aurora.

When I realized I just couldn't sit on the bed, I huddled down on the ground. I scrolled through the channels for some news, and surprise, surprise, there I was throwing cars at, then freezing Glacia. I hadn't spotted any news reporters at the time, but apparently some cameras were watching.

It showed Theo weakening Glacia, and then Lukas accidentally shooting him, then our final battle between her and I. It skipped the part where Aurora shattered her own mother, but I felt more comfortable to not see that.

As I was watching the same scenes over and over, and then looking at the live status of the street,  I remembered Stormo and the unicorns. I felt like giving them names, I don't know why.

I ran out of the room and put on the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the doorknob, since if anyone happened to come into the room and found two girls lying there unconscious... I have no idea what they would think but I did know for sure it would be pretty.

I ran over to the parking lot to see all three of the creatures sleeping. Instantly I thought of names for the unicorns: Flare and Shock. I didn't know if Lukas and Theo would approve, but I would call them that.

I tapped Stormo on his neck, making him open his large green pupil eyes. He made a tiny purr, which I couldn't tell what it came from lion or eagle, and looked at me like it was obvious he had the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on his head and I had just disobeyed it.

"You alright?" I asked him.

He slumped his head down which I was guessing meant I need sleep.

"Alright, after dinner I'll bring you food," I replied and patted his neck.

I didn't know how that looked to humans, maybe me petting a dark Volkswagen, but since there were barely any people in the parking lot, it didn't matter too much.

I walked out of the parking lot and back into my room.

I was bored and had nothing to do. The sun was just starting to set, meaning there were still about four hours left of being awake. I could've fallen asleep, but I wasn't sleepy at all, despite using my powers to the max trying to defeat that ice witch, Glacia.

The girls were still unconscious, and Theo had just woken up, from what I had seen and was explaining Lukas the story of what happened as he was frozen.

I asked if he was alright and then walked back into my room.

Before I could go into the bathroom, I felt a cold touch on my shoulder. Not expecting it to be Aurora, my brain instantly thought of Glacia, and I quickly turned around and summoned a small concentration of wind on my hands.

When I saw Aurora, she looked... icier... than before. Her light olive skin had a blue aura, even though it could clearly be noticed it was still light olive. Her hair had flakes of ice in it, and she looked like she had just come out of a blizzard.

"Whoa, whoa," she did a truce gesture with her hands. "Just want to talk."

"About?" I asked, releasing the wind back into the air.

"Theo."

We walked back to the main room. She sat on the bed she had got shocked in, and I sat on the table again. Skylar was muttering something in her sleep. I had the urge to cuddle up next to her, but probably she would've slapped me on the face when she woke up.

Wait, what was I even thinking?

The instant the thought came to my mind, many other thoughts filled in, but before I could really make any sense out of any of them, Aurora blurted out, "He's hot."

For a second I thought she was talking literally and meant that he was literally burning. Then I realized the secret message under it.

"You like him?" I asked in shock.

"Well, we've met before. I've seen all of them before," Aurora explained. "It's not a love in first sight thing."

"I'm guessing that's why you two," I pointed at her and then Skylar, "are fighting like divas in the WWE."

"Yeah, well the first time I met them it didn't go so well..."

"Do tell," I got comfortable on the table, awaiting a long story.
