Wake Up Niomi,

Niomi's POV,

I could hear the beeping on the hospital machine. I wanted to wake up, but my eyes felt super-glued stuck and my body felt like it was sewn to my bed sheets.

A warm hand slotted into mine.

"Niomi, wake up," it was Marcus. His voice was cracked and his words weren't coming out. I could feel his hand shaking in mine. He stuttered a few times,

"We miss you..." A hot tear rolled down his cheek and onto my arm. It rolled off my arm and onto the sheets. I just wanted to hold on to all these tears. My eyes were welling up and I felt hot tears running down my cheeks soon after. Marcus wiped them and chuckled a bit.

"Niomi, I know you can hear me, maybe squeeze my hand a bit if you can?" The tone of his voice had gone from desperation to determination. I did my best to squeeze but ended up only moving a little. He kissed my hand and bounced his knees up and down. He always did that when he was nervous.

"Nims, your in an induced coma, the baby isn't there no more, there would've been to much of a danger in it being there. They said you'll wake up in a few hours, maybe a couple of days,"

I smiled inside, a few hours? I didn't know comas could be recovered that quickly. He let go of my hand,

"I'm going to let your parents in, it's 2 at a time and they wanted to come in together."

At least my parents wanted to be together, my brother usually called me up saying they were fighting. I hated it when they fought.

Marcus's POV,

I closed to door slowly, not to startle her and nodded to her parents, her dad shook my hand and I went to sit down in a plastic chair. I couldn't focus. Niomi almost died.

A part of me wanted her to be pregnant. I've always like the idea of kids. I guess we are too young and that's why she freaked out. If only that child hadn't of died, maybe in a year or so we'd be settled down. Maybe not. We'd barely be 18.

Her parents walked out and smiled at me.

"How's she?" I asked.

"The doctors said she needs some rest, they'll call us when she wakes up," said her mum as she picked up her coat from one of the chairs.

"Want a lift?" Her dad gestured to me.

"No thanks, I'm gonna stay here a while," they nodded and left. I lay down on the blue chairs and closed my eyes. It had been a long day.
