Sugar Pearl stood elegantly on her podium, waiting for instructions given by her master, Miss Nacre. Today was a quiet day for the reef, as it is bustling with conversation. All you could hear was the humming of Tangerine Pearl, an obnoxious pearl in Sugar's eyes. You could also hear the quiet talking of Turquoise Pearl and Gold Pearl. Sugar also found them quite annoying. 

Nacre was in the private room where all the bubbles with pearl gems her kept. Nacre specifically told all the pearls to never go in there unless they have permission too. Of course, they all respected her wishes as they didn't want to get shattered. 

 Sugar Pearl looked down too her right and saw Lily Pearl looking at her. He always admired Sugar pearl as his idol. Sugar didn't mind him much, as he was also a good pearl. Everything started to quiet down a little more, until the Rose Quartz guards started giggling and talking with each other loudly. This made some pearls very annoyed, especially Sugar. She wished someone would just come in and beg for nacre. It was getting boring in here. 

A few minutes pass and the doors to the reef slide open. All of the pearls turn their heads to see who came into the reef, even Sugar did. A small, precious sapphire walked in. The Nacre came out of the room and saw the Sapphire. "Oh my! Greetings, your clarity! What brings you here?" Miss Nacre asked, acting like an aunt or grandma at Christmas. "I in fact am looking for a pearl to accompany me on a mission set by my diamond (blue diamond)." The sapphire had said, calmly. Sugar's eyes had widened. She hopped over to Miss Nacre, and gently tapped her arm. "Your excellency, please forgive my intrusion but may I go with her?" Sugar Pearl asked. The Nacre hesitated to risk a perfect pearl for this mission, but she had reluctantly said yes.
