Sugar Pearl was in fact an exemplary pearl in her reef. Every gem there looked up to her. She was like the shining star; you couldn't miss her. Her elegant form also made her get amazed looks from others. Every gem wanted her, but the owner of the reef insisted that she stayed with the reef, as a servant of the reef! Sugar Pearl always stayed in the reef, with no drama at all. 

Copper Quartz was one of the unique quartzes in her group. She was half corrupted. This made her an outcast to her Agate, and always was chosen last, or not even at all. She was always seen as an ugly gem who didn't know their place. It made Copper sad to know that it felt like no one even mentioned or looked at her.
