15. Nose Bleed

I don't believe that anybody had spent such a time staring at a simple blue candle, only wanting to own it. But Niall does, and he did today. He spent sixteen minutes there just for the Winter smelling wax. The scent title is Christmas Eve, but I figured out that Niall likes to just call it Winter Wax. The candle was more expensive than the rest because, like Niall said, its rare to find it in stores anymore. I'm not so sure about online though.

"Thank you." I smile to Kevin, the clerk, and take long strides to my Jeep. I was so excited to wrap up the gift and give it to Niall. All I had to do now was figure out the perfect time to give it to him. Maybe I could sneak into his room while he's sleeping and set it on the side table with a cute note, and possibly light it so he can wake up to it. That would be pretty perfect, I'd say.

New Message: To Niall: Can we meet up? :)

I thought it would take a while for Niall to respond, but it only took a few seconds of stroking LahDann for the alert to sound.

From Niall: Yeah! :) Where at?

To Niall: You could come over?

My stomach was filled with iron butterflies on steroids, I was so nervous. But his answer replaced those negative butterflies into soft butterflies high on sugar. He said yes, and I started to clean.

"Mum, is it okay if Niall James comes over?" I ask my Mum whilst cleaning off the kitchen. "Yes!" She yells a little too excited. "I can't wait to meet him and see what he looks like and what he sounds like-" While she kept going on, I mumbled under my breath, "He looks beautiful, and he sounds like a sunrise."

The last thing I did before Niall was knocking on the door is change. Mum and I fought through harsh whispers for her to disappear and act like she wasn't waiting for him, verses her staying and meeting him up front. I ended up winning and she went to her bedroom.

Smiling, I inhale, turn the knob and swing the door open. The intake of breath is let our rapidly when I see how cute Niall looks. He's in a beanie that covers all his hair but the front few chunks, a white shirt, grey jacket, denim jeans and chuck taylors. His lips are purple and he has bags under his eyes, but the rest still looks perfect.

"Um, hi." I quirk a lopsided grin. "HI." Niall says perky-ly. Stepping aside, Niall walks in with his tank behind him. Niall says,"Your home has a warm feeling to it." looking around. He looks back at me when I remain silent, not sure how to take that. "Its a good thing, to me at least." Niall smirks. I spread my lips into a toothless grin and take steps forward. "My mom is in her room, if you want to meet her?" Nialls head bobs up and down and he follows me down the hall.

I pound my knuckles three times into the white painted wood, peeking my head inside. Mum was sitting at her desk pretending to work on something. "Mum, uh, this is Niall. Niall James, this is my Mum, Anne." Niall gives her barely any time to stand up before he hugs her, saying a 'hi, its lovely to meet you.' and 'sorry, i'm a hugger.' "Its even better to meet you!" Mum says, giving me a wink of approval. But she also has a different look in her face, a look that expresses she wasn't imagining him with an oxygen tank rolling behind him and tubes in his nose.

"I drew a Giraffe." I hold up my piece of paper for Niall to see. Niall looks up and snorts. Then, he holds up his drawing. "I drew a Gorilla." I snort back, taking the toll of saying that my Giraffe is clearly better than his Gorilla.

As we're drawing our next object, something to do with space, I look up at Niall in an act to admire him. But my mouth drops and face turns pale as I can't even form words for what seems like an hour. "Niall, you're bleeding!" Worry the only thing you could hear, and confusion was all you could see in Niall's face. He reached his hand up to dab under his nose, and when he saw the blood on his fingertips and dripping on his paper, he scrapes the chair against the floor and hurries to the bathroom with his tank wheeling behind him.

I stand up too and grab a rag from the kitchen, following in his steps to the unlocked bathroom door. "Niall, here." I hand Niall the rag and he takes it, slamming it onto his nose. He was taking loud, deep breaths. It felt like everything turned into slow motion, and our life of reality turned into a screen played movie. And the song that was playing over everything was Don't You Worry Child (Acoustic Version). I couldn't tear my eyes away from Niall. He was embarrassed, he was bleeding, he was panicking, and he was humiliated.

"I should take you to the hospital." I mutter, not expecting Niall to hear me. "No, don't. It's okay. I'm okay. I don't need to go there. Okay?" Niall moves his Nash Grier blue eyes to me, creating a trance. I stared at him for a few long seconds before I shake my head and say, "You're bleeding a lot, and its heavy and flowing like a river. We need to go." Niall shook his head and leaned against the sink, still taking his deep breaths. Leaving him, I go into Mum's room and order her to drive us to the hospital while grabbing her coat and keys, tossing them at her.

"What happened?"

"Niall has a really bad nose bleed."

Anne didn't know if Harry was just overreacting in protection of Niall or if it was actually serious, but regardless, she drove them to the hospital with both boys in the backseat. They were on either ends of the car, looking out the window. Niall had closed his eyes, and Harry took the opportunity to look at Niall. To admire his features and worry.

Taking a risk, taking a chance, Harry takes off his seatbelt and slides over to the middle seat, buckling up again. Niall opened his eyes and looks at Harry, who stared straight ahead of him. Niall looked away and placed his hand on his own thigh, sighing and dropping his other hand with the bloody rag into his lap. Harry looked at Nialls hands through the corner of his eyes.

The rest of the drive was quiet, peaceful, and awkward in a not awkward way.
