Jaypaw woke up and slowly turned his head to look over at his friend who had been sleeping next to him. He slowly got up and shakily walked out of the den. "Jaypaw, your training with Mothpaw today." Jaypaw looked up to see who was talking to him. The piercing  glare of Sharpclaw looked down at him.

"Y- yes Shar- father!" Jaypaw quickly corrected himself. His father scoffed and walked away. Jaypaw turned around as he herd the sound of pawsteps approaching him.

"Goodmorning Jaypaw," Badgerpaw said in a happy upbeat tone.

"Morning Badgerpaw," Jaypaw quietly answered. "Hey I have a question-" 

"Sure what do you need?" 

"Are we friends?"

"Why wouldn't we be?"

"I'm not sure sorry that was a stupid question.- Well I'm going for a walk before training starts, you can join me of you want. I just need to clean my mind."

"Sure I'll come with, is that even a question?" The two cats left their camp and walked to the river. Their walk was quiet until Jaypaw broke the silence.

"Do you think I'm annoying?" Jaypaw asked.

"No," Badgerpaw answered. "What makes you ask?"

"Well I just- I'm not sure dumb question-" Jaypaw paused as he heard a twig snap not to far off in the distance. "Did you hear that?"

"Yeah- I think we should hide," Badgerpaw whispered.

"Good idea" 

The two cats dove for cover in a bush. Right as they were hidden a Fireclan patrol emerged on the other side of the river by the stepping stones. Jaypaw froze in fear the moment he saw it wasn't a patrol it was an invasion.

"Badgerpaw we have to warn the camp." Jaypaw quietly whispered. The two cats slowly crept out of the bush and after getting far enough away broke into a run back to camp.

"Fireclan is invading by the river!" Badgerpaw yowled. Just as Badgerpaw had spoke the loud sound of pawsteps could be heard.

"Protect the kits and elders!" Wolfstar hissed. Jaypaw rushed to protect the nursery and the kits inside. His father had a mate inside who was about ready to give birth. Badgerpaw rushed next to Jaypaw to help.

"This isn't an invasion!" Fireclan's leader yowled. Wolfstar left his den.

"Oh hello Dovestar," Wolfstar spoke softly.

"I just wanted to talk about what happened at the gorge that's all," Dovestar seemed to growl. "From what I understand one of our cats knocked one of your cats into the gorge?"

"That is correct.."

"We are sorry and willing to not fight about this if you promise to let us hunt by the gorge... if not we will fight right here, right now." Wolfstar was quiet for a minute as if thinking  of an answer.

"We will let you as long as you don't go any deeper into our territory and don't fight."

"Then it is settled thank you for your time, I'll make sure my warriors listen." And with that Fireclan left. Everyone  starting whispering and soon Wolfstar called a meeting.
