TWENTY SEVEN

"What the hell was that, Kim Taehyung?" I shout angrily as I drag him through the corridor by his wrist. It isn't working well considering I didn't bother bringing my crutches and I can barely walk. Stupid, I know, but I was too angry to think straight.

After he unnecessarily punched Soohyun, I pulled him away before anything else would happen. Everyone rushed towards Soohyun so they fortunately didn't notice me taking him out of the hall.

"He was pissing me off." He groans and halts, pulling his wrist away from mine.

"He didn't even do anything, V. I can't believe this."

"Yes he did! Did not see him push me over -- wait, why are you walking? You shouldn't be walking. Sit down." (shit down)

"V," I sigh and place my hands onto my hips. "Stop trying to change the subject. Tell me why you punched him."

He stares at me blankly for a few moments before giving in. "Fine, I don't really know. I was just angry."

I begin to feel guilty for being so aggressive with him. He looks confused and sad as he stares in the direction of the floor, subconsciously locking and unlocking his fingers together as a nervous habit. I know that he's finding it hard to control his emotions.

"I'm sorry." He says quietly. Damn, this boy makes it impossible to stay mad with him.

"You don't need to apologise to me." I tell him and he nods knowingly.

"I know. I'll apologise to Soonhyun later, I think he would probably kill me if he saw me now."

"Good idea." I smile softly.

"Should we go back now?" He asks and I nod.

"Wait -- V, I can't walk." I say, embarrassed, and he stares at me for a few moments before laughing.

"I'll carry you!"

"No, V, wait --" I get cut off by him running towards me and effortlessly lifting me off the ground and onto his back.

I want to curse and tell him to put me down, but I can't help but laugh. He spins around a few times causing me to giggle and hold onto him tighter.

"V, we're in school." I remind him and he shrugs.

"I don't care."

He begins to run, with me still on his back, and a few students send us strange stares through the windows as we pass them. For the first time in a while, we laugh together. Even though this situation will most likely not conclude well, it's still extremely fun. Fun. I haven't had that in a while.

We turn a corner and see a teacher with their back faced to us. V instantly halts and turns around before running in the opposite direction.

"Run, run, run!" He giggles and stumbles, almost falling over, but he somehow manages to regain his balance.

Jin suddenly appears at the end of the corridor. "I'm not even going to ask."

"Violet decided it would be a good idea to walk without her crutches." He informs Jin who just shakes his head.

"Where are they?" He asks.

"They're still in the gym." V says.

"I'll go get them. You two stay here." Jin tells us helpfully.

"Thank you!" I smile and he disappears. "Aren't you getting tired, V?"

He tilts his head backwards so I can almost see his eyes. "Nope, don't worry."

"V, let me down." I say softly when I notice Mike walking towards us. This time, he doesn't protest and obliges, setting me down onto the floor.

"Woah, be careful." He mutters when I wobble due to only standing on one foot.

"Hey, guys." Mike waves and stands in front of us.

"Shouldn't you be in lessons?" I ask with a smile.

"Shouldn't you?" He returns the smile causing V to look between us.

"Am I missing something, or?" V asks, confused.

"Violet and I are...um, friends -- we used to know each other before she moved away." Mike explains and V nods slowly.

"Oh, okay."

"Anyway, I've got to go. I'll see you around." He smiles and disappears yet again.

It's silent for a few moments before V turns to me. "You've got some explaining to do."

"What do you mean?" I question with a frown.

"You didn't tell me you already knew Mike. Tell me what's going on with you two."

"There's nothing going on-"

"I'm not stupid, Violet," he cuts me off, sighing. "Tell me how you know him."
