It feels like only a few weeks ago since the date of the trial was announced. Yet here I am, standing in a courtroom with all eyes on me.

"Could you please explain your involvement with Jeon Jungkook, Miss Kim." The defendant lawyer requests, a hard look on her stern features.

I nod slowly and clear my throat, catching Taehyung's eye. He offers me a reassuring smile which prompts me to speak.

"We used to be best friends, all of us did. It was only the day of the shooting when we realised it was him who broke into my house--"

"How did you find this out?" The defendant interrupts.

My heart races although I know I shouldn't be scared. I'm not the one in the wrong here.

"The break in happened on a Tuesday, the only day of school when Jungkook stayed off--"

"So, you assumed he was to blame just because he didn't show up to school on that day?"

All eyes turn to me.

"He is also one of the only people who has a key to Namjoon's house, which, if you don't already know, was also broken into. We had enough evidence to accuse him."

"Miss Kim, your evidence sounds very weak."

"Relevancy?" My lawyer asks, standing from his seat. I look towards him desperately, praying for him to somehow stop the interrogation.

"Continue, Mrs Choi." The judge says to the defendant lawyer. My heart sinks.

"Perhaps, Jeon Jungkook was a loyal friend after all. Perhaps, he only turned against you when he was accused of being a traitor. Is that possible, Miss Kim?" She asks and the entire courtroom silences. I glare towards Jungkook who's sitting opposite me with handcuffs on his wrists, a smirk on his face as he stares at me.

"No, of course that isn't possible. We hadn't even accused him when he turned against us. Jimin and I were the ones who realised what had happened, we were in the basement at the time. He went upstairs to accuse Jungkook but he was already outside, shooting us."

"Do you have any evidence for that statement, Miss Kim?" The woman asks slyly.

"Well, no but--"

"No more questions." She interrupts me and takes a seat.

"Mrs Kim, you can take a seat." The judge informs me and I quickly make my way towards my seat beside Taehyung.

"You did well, Violet." He whispers into my ear, holding my hand tight.

I shake my head but don't look at him. "I didn't, I did terrible. He's probably going to be found not guilty after that."

"Don't be silly, that's the only thing they have against our story. We'll be fine."

"Park Eunki is next the next witness to testify." The judge announces and I watch as she stands. I know how much this means to her; she lost her baby because of this.

"Miss Park, I understand you were also close with Jeon Jungkook. Is that correct?" Our lawyer begins.

She nods, "we all were. Well, at least that's what we thought."

"Did you ever suspect him of being capable of doing such a thing?"

"No, not really. But over time I began to think someone close to us was acting against us, I just didn't know who. Rumors that only us and Jungkook knew started to spread through the school--"

"What rumors?" The defendant lawyer demands, standing up.

"Is the depth of the rumors particularly relevant?" Our lawyer quips back just as quick, turning his attention towards the Judge.

"Overruled. Please take a seat, Mrs Choi."

"Continue, Miss Park." Our lawyer says kindly, prompting Eunki to carry on.

"Anway, we all knew that one of us was to blame. Nobody else knew so it had to be somebody, deep down everyone knew that. When Jungkook reentered the room during the attack, he told J, I mean Jaehyun, where we were hiding, in the basement. Because of this I lost my baby."

The courtroom gasps and I see tears surface in Eunki's eyes.

"You had a miscarriage?" Our lawyer asks. He already knows but he needs to confirm it for the rest of the people in the courtroom, particularly Jungkook's defendant lawyer.

"Yes, I did. After Jungkook told Jaehyun of our whereabouts, he roughly brought us upstairs. He kicked my side and my stomach, I started bleeding and I instantly knew what had happened. Jungkook didn't even look sorry, he just smirked."

"End of questions. Thank you, Miss Park."

Jungkook and the other boys have already given their accounts on the stand. Now it's all up to the jury to decide his fate. J was automatically proven guilty considering he broke out of prison, the rest of his gang members pleaded guilty but Jungkook claimed he was innocent.

I've heard before that a jury's decision can take hours. All we can do is wait, unfortunately.

Taehyung and I are preparing to stand when we're interrupted by the door opening. I quickly turn my head to face the entrance where I see the jury walking inside. My heart drops and I stare at Taehyung. How could they have made a decision so quickly? I look at my watch and realise it's only been fifteen minutes since they left.

"A decision has been made?" The judge asks with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, your honor." A representative speaks and walks towards the stand.

"The jury has decided that Jeon Jungkook is..."
