——— E N J O Y ———

Ranboo screamed as he fell to his death.

He had messed up Hole in the Wall three times in a row now. Tubbo looked up from his pasta while sitting on the couch and gave Ranboo a quizzical look.

"Bossman you've been awfully loud lately." He mumbled over a mouthful of noodles. Ranboo just stared angrily as Chat laughed at him. He sighed loudly. A dono popped up.

"'Birthday?' Not yet. Not yet, Chat." He said, focusing back in on the game. He joined the main lobby, giving up on Hole in the Wall for now. He turned off Minecraft and switched the camera so it was full-view on him. He clapped. "WELP, Chat! I think I'm gonna go now, my brain is tired." He said, closing a few extra tabs as Chat spammed 'goodbye' and 'bye chat.' "Bye everyone! Bye, bye, bye, bye," he switched on a voicechanger, "B̸̬̱̈́̉y̴̺̹͗̀è̴̢̹͉̥̹̀́͆̇͑͊." Then clicked end stream.

He sighed and slumped in his chair, grabbing his phone.

'i need a subgoal, what do we do?' He tweeted, giving a poll of "irl content," "dress," and "Ranboo bakes some slime." Something fun to do wouldn't hurt. He'd been bored, with all of the vlogs and planning and streaming. He totally needed something else on his plate. Instantly, thousands of likes and answers were through. Ranboo heard a notification from Tubbo's phone and smiled.

"Ranboo bakes some slime?" Tubbo asked. "What does that mean?" Then he took another bite of pasta.

"It means I'll make a video of me making slime." Ranboo deadpanned, still slumped in his chair.

  "I voted." Tubbo yawned.

"What'd you pick?" Ranboo aksed, yawning in response to Tubbo's.

  "Dress." Tubbo mumbled.

"Yeah I thought that might be fun." Ranboo said, scrolling through Instagram. He checked the poll results. 62% dress, 20% irl content and 18% Ranboo bakes some slime.

"Guess I'm wearing a dress at 10,000 subs tomorrow." Ranboo said. Tubbo laughed.

"You need to buy it first."

  "Ah, yeah. Crap."

"It's only five in the afternoon, Bossman, we have time." Tubbo replied, standing with his almost-empty bowl. "Let's go find you a dress!"

——

Ranboo surprisingly quite enjoyed the dress shopping. Tubbo would stop and point out a wacky dress that would be quite too big. All of the dresses were cut for women, so that meant they had room for... something Ranboo didn't have.

"What about this one, Boo? It's black and white, your brand." Tubbo pointed out a plain dress. It was black and the fabric was a bit rough to the touch. It had creamy white fabric for the sleeves. It had white underparts, so when the dress twirled or lifted up, white would be on the inside of the skirt. Ranboo didn't understand dresses, but this one was pretty.

"First good suggestion you've had." Ranboo said, grabbing it and slinging it over his arm along with a long, elegant blush-pink dress. The pink dress was a halter top. It was pretty plain, but had a nicely layered skirt.

"You gonna try these on?" Tubbo asked, pinching the fabric of the dresses between his fingers.

"Yeah. None of the others are very good."

"If you say so." Tubbo said. They both started off towards the dressing room.

"How many items do you have?" A nice woman at the desk asked.

"Uh. Two." The older boy said, forgetting how to speak for a minute. His social anxiety wasn't the nicest when it came to shopping. The lady smiled, grabbed a small card that had the number two on it and led Ranboo to an open stall. Tubbo sat on a bench outside, waiting for Ranboo to finish up.

Ranboo hung up the dresses, wanting to try on the pink one first. He avoided looking at his reflection in the mirror, taking off his glasses. He undressed and slipped on the dress, struggling a bit to zip it up. He figured it out and snuck a glance at himself, focusing solely on the dress. It fit his skinny, tall frame. It hung elegantly to just above his ankles. The halter top didn't look too shabby on his bony shoulders. He unlocked the door and carefully stepped out, still in his socks. He heard Tubbo gasp and flinched slightly.

"Boo! You look so good!!" He exclaimed, standing up and running over to Ranboo. He did look good. He looked beautiful, even. But not beautiful as a girl would look, beautiful as a boy in a dress. He smiled widely at his reflection. It wasn't something he did much.

"I love it." Ranboo said quietly.

"Try on the other one!!" Tubbo said, pushing Ranboo back to the stall. Ranboo slipped out of the dress, sad the silky fabric was gone. It felt nice on his skin.

Putting on the black dress was a bit more of a struggle.

"Uh... Tubs, can you help me?"

"Yeah bossman what do you need?"

"I need help lacing the front." Ranboo opened the door and Tubbo stepped in, pulling the laces tight and tying them in a bow. The dress fell just below his knees, a fluffy skirt that belled out around his waist. He stepped outside after Tubbo, then looked at himself in the reflection. Tubbo didn't say anything.

"Is it... bad?" Ranboo asked, tugging self-consciously at the sleeves. The lace surprisingly didn't itch.

"Oh, Boo." Tubbo whispered. "You look stunning."

——

The day had come. Ranboo set up his stream and the new subgoal, and then clicked 'start stream.' He waited for a minute or two for people to file in, playing some background music. Then he turned on the camera.

"Hello!" He introduced what he was going to do and set up Minecraft, thanking a few people for donos.

After about an hour, he had hit the subgoal.

"That was fast! Thank you everyone who subbed! Let's do this right nowww..." Ranboo turned to the black screen and got up. He slipped on the dress after getting unchanged, making sure that he wasn't in camera view even though it wasn't on. Can't be too cautious. "TUBS! Can you help lace it up please?" He shouted for his housemate. Chat was spamming, excited. Tubbo laced the front of Ranboo's dress, then helped smooth out the skirt. Then Tubbo hugged Ranboo, and whispered in his ear so Chat couldn't hear.

"You look beautiful, Boo. I'll always support you. I'm so happy to have met you, you changed my life entirely for the better. Running into you was the best decision I've made. Remember I love you. Now go get 'em."

"You sound like you're saying goodbye." Ranboo joked. He was tearing up. "But genuinely, Tubs, thank you. You're one of the best friends I've ever had. I love you too." He whispered. Tubbo smiled and moved off screen, still in his pajamas.

The black screen switched off, showing Ranboo in his black and white dress. Chat went crazy.

Ranboo twirled and the dress flowed and flickered. He felt really, really good. It felt like everything was finally clicking into place. It was a bit confusing, honestly.

He didn't believe in gender roles but he knew other people did. They wouldn't like it, those people. Eh, screw them.

Ranboo posed, his hands on his waist and his head tilted up. Then he curtsied. Tubbo clapped and cheered. Ranboo sat back down, relishing the way the dress showed off his shoulders and collarbone. He was pretty, and he felt pretty.

Chat continued going crazy as Ranboo streamed. He was the happiest he'd been in a while.

——

Ranboo was disappointed when he had to end stream. He said goodbye, then gratefully accepted water and a snack from Tubbo.

"I really don't want to get out of this dress." He laughed, taking a drink.

"Who said you had to, bossman?" Tubbo asked, scrolling through the trending tab to see Ranboo this, Ranboo that. Ranboo paused.

"Well, I just thought..." he trailed off. He didn't have to change.

"No one here is gonna judge you for wearing the dress, and if it's comfortable and makes you happy, wear it!"

"You're right." Ranboo smiled. "Uh, actually."

  "Yeah?"

"Well, now that I know how it feels to wear this- this amazing dress, the idea of changing back into like- jeans or my normal 'masculine' clothes makes me uneasy." The taller admitted.

"You like crossdressing?" Tubbo asked, looking up from his phone.

"Uh. I mean, if it means I like dressing more feminine, then yes."

"We can get you some new clothes if you want, Boo! Some skirts and dresses and fancy stuff, yeah?"

"That would be amazing, Tubs." Ranboo smiled.

——

It was Ranboo's birthday. He'd been wearing skirts almost every day now, and some cute dresses when he was in the mood. And gosh, was he happy. This day he was wearing his favorite- the black and white dress.

Him and his friends (Tubbo, Aimsey, Tommy, Freddie, and Bill) we're all going to a bowling alley. Ranboo decided to stream the first two games. Then the third was just for him and his friends. They finished the game (Tubbo won that round) and went to sit down at a table for dinner. They ate, laughed, talked, sang, joked. No one minded Ranboo's green and red eyeshadow or his dress.

Dessert and presents rolled around. Tubbo and Tommy disappeared for a minute and the speaker suddenly blared over the bowling alley.

"Please everyone join me in wishing a Mr. Ranboo a happy birthday!" The person said. Ranboo yelled out in confusion and happiness, and everyone in the alley cheered as people started singing and clapping 'Happy Birthday.' Tubbo and Tom returned with wide smiles. The song finished, the music returned, and presents were pulled out.

Everyone got him a present. Everyone. Ranboo almost started crying as he opened the presents. One by one he pulled out skirts of all shapes and sizes. Then everyone handed him a huge box. Ranboo tore it open to see a gorgeous dress. He lifted it out, admiring the whole thing as tears sparked in his eyes.

It was a tall, elegant white dress. The sleeves were quarter length and puffed out at the ends. The skirt was thick with silky, shiny fabric that practically glowed in the blacklight. Ranboo choked out a thank you. All of his friends hugged him and wished him a happy eighteen.

Sure, people in the future would judge him. It was mandatory. To have the people that loved and accepted him, he had to have the people who hated him for what he wore. But he was fine. The love greatly outmassed the hate. He could wear a dress every day and no one would care.

He loved it.
