The Blackout.

Emily Hartwell.

As my English teacher continued to speak I rested my head o  the desk. It was a eainy and extremely stormy day outside, the clouds were a dark grey and it felt like it was night.

Spencer, Talia, Luas and Caroline were all also bored, we were all bored until the school shut into utter darkness. A few screams peerished and the announcements came on.

"All students please head to the locker rooms, Mileswood high is now under lock down until further notice."

"The first blackout." Caroline jumped up and down extremely happily.

We all made our way to the Locker rooms and we were all given torches.

"Well this shall be fun." I groaned and leaned against the wall.

"It will be, c'mon we're going to the science block." Caroline dragged us all to our usual room, 5 lights beamed in the room.

"It's like complete and utter darkness around here." I said as I shone my torch around the room. Spencer was trying to get a signal, Talia was snuggled up to Lucas and Caroline was looking around.

"It's unusual, usually the school has a back up generator." Spencer looked at us.

"Maybe it needs time to kick in?" I asked and Caroline shrugged.

"It's probably from the 1980s and doesn't work." Caroline joked which made shake my head.

"Isn't there any candles around, it's pitch black, even with the torches." Lucas spoke up.

"Nothing will be in here, they cleared it out, so no students could sell the chemicals for crack or stuff." Spener peered through the blinds.

"There's got to be at least something." Lucas pulled out his phone. "Has anyone got a signal?"

"Nope." We all spoke. "It's probably down because of the storm." I said.

"So we can't call our parents saying we're alright?" Luas asked and we all shook our heads.

"I'm hungry." Talia whined to Lucas.

"Then you should of ate lunch." He kissed her forehead.

"Infact I'm hungry as well." Spener groaned, I looked around at all of my friends groaning in hunger.

"I'll go see and if I can grab something from the cafeteria." I picked up my torch and headed to the cafeteria. It was dark and empty, I shone my torch around until I froze in terror as I heard the sounds of footsteps.

I backed up slowly until I collided with someone and I let out a short scream as my mouth was covered by a hand. I shone my torch up to find it was Mason. She put her finger to her mouth to silence me.

The sound of footsteps continued to echo through the cafeteria. It wasn't until the person grabbed Mason and pulled her off me. I shone the torch on the figure, all I saw was a black mask covering the persons full face.

The person walked towards me but Mason grabbed the figre and punched it, the black mask put up a good fight as it punched Mason a good few times in the face, causing her to start bleeding.

Mason was about to grab the person until they ran off and we couldn't see where they disappeared to.

"Mason!" I scrambled to her side, she had a pretty beat up face. I grabbed the first aid kit and took Mason back to the science room.

"What's Callahander doing here?" Caroline scowled but it wasn't until Spencer shone the torch on her face that they started to worry.

"What happened to her!?" Lucas asked.

"Some masked person tried to attack me in the cafeteria, but Mason stopped them." I filled them in.

"Did you at least get my food?" Talia asked.

"This is no time for hunger Talia." Spencer glared at her.

I opened up the first aid kit and put Mason back to normal. Just after I fixed Mason up, the lights came back on.

"Thank god." I muttered. "Thank you." I looked over at Mason.

"It's no problem." She nodded to me.

"Did you manage to grab the mask?" Caroline asked us.

"Nope, this person just came out of no where, even if I did swipe it, it'd be too dark to see anything anyways." Mason sighed.

"Uh guys.." Lucas called out and we all ran over to him and his laptop.

'Hardings to Hartwells, Johnstons to Gabirelles and Clarksons to Callahanders, looks like I've got a little assortment to play with, better watch your back.'

"Looks like with a physco on our hands." Spencer gulped.

Now wasn't this interesting,  we have a hooded figure trying to attack Emily but it looks like her knight in shining armour came just in time. Well thank you for reading this chapter of TWOEH. I really need a cool cover and I bet there Is somebody out there who could do it. If you can, just try to contact me, thanks.

Well in our next chapter, the gang and Mason will try to get to grips with this person, but as always things go horribly wrong. Stay tuned.
