Born Under A Bad Sign

Dean is on his cell phone, leaning against his car. Ellie is next to him listening in on his car. They are both fidgeting and clearly upset.
"Ellen, it's us again. Any chance you've heard from him?... I swear, it's like looking for our dad all over again. We're losing our minds here... No, me and Ellie have called him a thousand times, there's nothing but voicemail. I don't know where he went, or why. Sam's just gone." Suddenly Ellie's phone rings, she looks at it and sees that it's Sam, she hits Dean's arm and they both have shocked expressions.
"Sammy? Where the hell are you? Are you okay?" Ellie asks frantically. "Hey, hey, hey! Calm down. Where are you? All right, don't move, we are coming!" Ellie says.

TWIN LAKES MOTEL

Dean and Ellie walk frantically down a narrow hallway, checking door numbers until they reach room 109. Ellie knocks.
"Sam, it's us. Sam!" Dean shouts through the door. Ellie tries to the door - it's open. Inside, Sam hasn't moved, still sitting numbly on one bed.
"Sam? Hey." Ellie says softly. They approach slowly.
"Hey." Sam mumbles. Dean kneels beside him.
"Are you bleeding?" Dean asks.
"I tried to wash it off." Sam explains with tears in his eyes. Ellie sits down beside him as Dean sees Sam's shirt covered in blood; he gropes at it, searching for a wound. Ellie's eyes widen.
"Oh my god." She says.
"I don't think it's my blood." Sam tells them.
"Whose it?" Ellie questions frantically.
"I don't know." Sam shakes his head still not looking at either of his siblings.
"Sam, what the hell happened?" Dean asks loudly. Sam looks up at his brother and then at his sister.
"Guys. I don't remember anything." Sam tells them.

Later on, Dean and Ellie return to the room, carrying a grocery bag. Sam has changed clothes and is looking a little less out of it.
"What'd you find out?" Sam asks them. Ellie sighs and walks over to him.
"You checked in two days ago under the name of Richard Sambora." Ellie explains.
"Of course, I think the scariest part about this whole thing is the fact that you're a Bon Jovi fan." Dean jokes, Ellie smirks at this a little while Sam looks over with no emotion.
"Dean." Sam warns.
"Your room's been quiet, nobody's noticed anything unusual." Ellie tells him.
"You mean no one saw me walking around covered in blood?" Sam says. Dean and Ellie nod.
"Yeah. That's what we mean." Dean agrees.
"Then how the hell did I get here? What happened to me?" Sam questions with a worried expression on his face.
"I don't know. But you're, you're okay, and that's what matters. Everything else we can deal with." Dean states.
"Oh really? 'Cause what if I hurt someone? Or worse?" Sam states loudly, Ellie breathes out.
"Sam..." She starts.
"What if this is what Dad warned you about?" Sam asks turning to Dean.
"Hey, whoa, whoa, come on man, let's not jump the gun here. We don't know what happened. We've just got to treat like this, like any other job. What's the last thing you remember?" Dean says. Sam sits down next to Ellie.
"Just us three, just, in that motel room in West Texas, going out to grab some burgers, and..." Sam says.
"West Texas? That was, that was over a week ago." Ellie says with raised eyebrows.
"That's it." Sam states. Dean and Ellie look at each other stunned. "Next thing I knew I was sitting here. Bloody. Felt like I'd been asleep for a month." Sam says, Ellie nods.
"Okay. Retrace your steps. The manager said you left yesterday afternoon and he never saw you come back so.." Ellie explains. Dean pulls back the curtain, he finds a bloody fingerprint on the window.
"Hey." He points to it. Sam and Ellie look over at the window and then at each other.

The three walk outside the motel. It's daylight, but raining.
"Recognize anything?" Ellie asks looking at her brother.
"Not really." Sam says, they go towards a parking garage out back. "Wait." The three all stop.
"What?" Dean and Ellie ask in unison.
"I think I was here." Sam tells them.
"You remember?" Dean questions.
"Not really, it just.... feels familiar, you know?" Sam says. Dean and Ellie exchange a look and shrug, goes to the nearest garage. Sam looks over to the second and points. "Try that one. Yeah." Dean tugs on the padlock.
"Okay."
"Wait." Sam says and digs in his pocket, frowning. He pulls out a key, gives Dean and Ellie a significant look. Dean opens the padlock with the key, raising his eyebrows at Sam and Ellie. He pulls the garage door open to reveal a filthy, beat-up VW beetle. The three look at the car, Dean in disgust.
"Oh, please tell me you didn't steal this." Dean says, Ellie feels a smile tug at the sides of her mouth but it quickly drops when she sees Sam fidgeting. They go into the garage and they open the doors of the car, Sam is on the driver's side. He touches the wheel, and shows Dean and Ellie his stained finger.
"More blood." He states, Ellie looks in the back.
"Sam. Back seat." Ellie points. Sam reaches down, picks up a blood-stained knife that sticks to the floor of the backseat. He stares at it.
"You think I used this on someone?" Sam asks looking at his brother and sister.
"I'm not thinking anything." Ellie explains. Sam looks around, rubs the knife handle off on the inside of his jacket. Ellie picks up a pack of cigarettes.
"Okay, not this is disturbing. Come on, Sam, this couldn't have been you. Had to have been someone else, somebody who, uh..." Ellie sniffs the pack and winces. "smokes menthols." Ellie and Dean look at their brother in disbelief.
"Here. Gas receipt. Few towns over." Sam gives the receipt to Dean.

GAS STATION

The three pull up in front of a small gas station.
"All right. Receipt's for ten gallons at pump number two. You getting any, uh, any goosebumps yet? "God, this looks familiar", deja vu vibes?" Dean asks, Sam shakes his head quietly. "Maybe someone inside'll remember you. Come on."
They go into the convenience store; the clerk looks up in shock, then anger.
"You. Outta here now, I'm calling the cops." The clerk shouts.
"You talking to him?" Ellie asks, confused.
"Yeah, I'm talking to him. Jerk comes in yesterday, stinking drunk, grabs a forty from the fridge, starts chugging." The clerk explains, Dean and Ellie look at the clerk in shock.
"This guy? You're drinking malt liquor?" Dean points at Sam and then looks at him, Sam looks back at his brother in shock. Ellie is still staring with raised eyebrows in disbelief.
"Not after he whipped the friggin' bottle at my head." The clerk tells them.
"This guy?" Ellie points at Sam.
"What, am I speaking Urdu?" The clerk sarcastically says.
"Look, I'm really sorry if I did anything-" Sam starts.
"Tell your story walkin', pal. Po-po will be here in five." The clerk says.
"Wait, wait, put the phone down. Sam, go wait in the car." Ellie says softly.
"But-" Sam starts.
"Go wait in the car!" Dean shout, he sighs and leaves. Ellie gives the clerk a small smile.
"Okay, look, man. I just want to talk to you, that's it. Okay?" Ellie states, the clerk hangs up. "Now, when he took off yesterday, which way did he go?"
"Why don't you ask him?" The clerk snaps at Ellie, Dean's eyes immediately darken at his tone towards his little sister.
"'Cause she's asking you." Dean snaps, Ellie shoots him a walking look. His face softens slightly. "Now please, you'd be doing us a huge favour."
"Oh, do you two a favour? Well, that is what I live for. You know, your buddy didn't pay for the booze. Okay? Or the smokes, which he also illegally lit up." The clerk says. Ellie's eyes widen.
"You saw him smoking?" She breathes out.
"Yeah. Guy's a chimney." He explains, Dean and Ellie exchange a shocked look, Dean clears his throat and pulls his wallet out, placing some bills on the desk.
"This, uh, ought to cover it." He explains.
"Hmm. It's uh, it's coming back to me now. He took two packs." Ellie rolls her eyes at the clerk's attitude while Dean looks frustrated.
"Of course he did." Dean mutters as he pulls out more money.
"He went north. Route 71, straight out of town." He answers, Dean and Ellie nod and they both grab candy bars and leave with smirks.

ROAD - NIGHT

Dean is driving down a dark road, while Sam and Ellie are staring out of the windows.
"What's going on with you, Sam? Hm? 'Cause smoking, throwing bottles at people, I mean, that sounds more like me than you." Dean says, Ellie smirks a bit at this.
"Dean, wait, right here. Turn down that road." Sam says quickly, Ellie sits up straight.
"What?" Dean ask confused.
"I don't know how I know, I just do." Sam explains, Dean turns down a back road and onto a private property. It is a large house with plenty of emergency lighting and security cameras, Ellie fidgets nervously in her seat having a bad feeling about the place.
"Whoever lives here, I'd say they don't like surprises." Sam states.
"Should we knock?" Ellie asks as they get out of the car.
"Yeah, I guess." Sam shrugs as Dean knocks on the front door while Sam pokes around the corner.
"Hey guys" Sam says and waves a flashlight at a window. It's broken, the ledge covered in shattered glass. Ellie looks at the scene in front of her.
"I'm surprised the cops didn't show. Place like this you'd think it'd have an alarm." Ellie says, Sam looks around and finds a disabled alarm on the wall.
"Yeah, you would." Sam says, Ellie tries to hide the nervous look on her face but Sam sees it, she quickly turns away to go into the house. Once they have enter, they see the floor is covered in broken glass and scattered items. In a back room, the three come across a body on the floor.
"Hit the lights." Dean tells his brother. Sam turns the lights on as Dean and Ellie kneel behind the body. He places a hand on it and turns it over; it reveals a middle-aged man with a deeply cut throat, dead, eyes staring. Ellie puts her hand over the mouth and looks away from the body, looking up at her brother who looks horrified.
"I did this." Sam states.
"We don't know that." Ellie argues back. Sam looks at her with an angry expression
"What else do you need? I mean, how else do you explain the car, the knife, the blood-"
"I don't know, man, why don't you tell me?!" Dean shouts interrupting. Ellie sighs.
"Look, even if you did do this I'm sure you had a reason, you know; self defense, uh, he was, he was a bad son of a bitch, something!" Ellie tries to reason with her big brother, while Dean  pats down the body.
"He doesn't have any ID." Dean tells them, Sam is looking at a closet and clicks towards Ellie.
"I need your lockpick." Sam says.
"What?" Ellie asks confused.
"I need your lockpick." Ellie reaches into her jacket and gives it to her brother, he opens a double-door closet in the room. Inside the room, one wall is covered in charts and clippings. The three look at it with raised eyebrows.
"Holy... Either this guy's a Unabomber -" Dean starts.
"Or a hunter. Guys, I think I killed a hunter." Sam breathes out, Ellie stands there not knowing what to say.
"Let's find out." Dean says seeing a security camera near the ceiling.

Later, Ellie is sitting in front of the desktop computer while Dean and Sam stand behind. She cues up the security tape, on the tape they watch Sam fighting the same man who lies dead on the floor behind them. The fight moves off camera and Sam drags the man back into the frame; he kneels, the man pulled up against his legs, and slits his throat. Ellie looks away not wanting to watch her brother murder someone, Sam stares at the computer in shock while Dean pulls himself away and stands straight. Ellie gets up from the seat and Sam sits down watching the screen, he looks at some pages to the right o the keyboard while Dean paces and Ellie starts cleaning up.
"How do you erase this? Huh? Sam, come on, I need your help." Ellie says, starting to wipe their prints.
"I killed him. I just broke in and killed him." Sam breathes out.
"Listen to me. Whoever this guy is, he's a hunter. Which means that other hunters are going to come looking for his killer, which means we've got to cover out tracks, okay?" Ellie says, she looks over to Dean who is pacing. "Dean!" Ellie snaps loudly making him stop pacing and he starts helping.
"His name was Steve Wandell. This is a letter from his daughter." Sam says sadly. Dean looks from Sam to the letter, then makes a decision. He grabs the CPU, lifts it above his head, and smashes it to the floor, stomping it with his boots for good measure, Dean looks over to his little sister who nods. She in turn looks at Sam, still sitting there despondent, tosses a rag to him.
"Wipe your prints, then we go." Ellie orders him.

MOTEL ROOM

The three walk into the motel room.
"All right, we get a couple hours sleep and then we put this place in our rearview mirror. Look, I know this is bad, okay? You gotta snap out of it. Sam, say something!" Dean orders.
"Just get some sleep and leave in the morning? Murder. That's what I did!" Sam says, he looks over to Dean and Ellie who are hunting for words.
"Maybe." Ellie mumbles, Sam scoffs.
"Hey, we don't know.. shapeshifter?" Dean asks.
"Oh, come on. You know it wasn't, you saw the tape. There was no eye flare, no distortion." Sam tells him angrily. Ellie shakes her head.
"Yeah, but it wasn't you! All right? i mean, yeah, it might have been you, but it wasn't you." Ellie states adamantly.
"Well, I think it was." Sam says as he sits on the bed. "I think maybe more than you know." He says to Dean and then he looks back at his sister who is shaking her head.
"Sam, no." Ellie says, knowing what he's referring to.
"What the hell does that mean?" Dean asks looking between Sam and Ellie.
"For the last few weeks I've been having... I've been having these feelings." Sam starts. Ellie sighs and sits on the bed opposite Sam.
"What feelings?" Dean asks sitting next to Ellie.
"Rage. Hate. And I can't stop it. It just gets worse. Day by day, it gets worse." Sam explains.
"You never told me this." Dean says as Ellie looks down.
"I didn't want to scare you." Sam answers and stares at Ellie who looks at him softly.
"Well, bang up job on that." Dean states sarcastically, slapping his knee and standing, he then looks at his sister. "Wait, did you know about this?" Ellie looks shocked and fumbles over her words.
"Well, I-er..." Ellie mumbles and then nods her head. "Yeah, yeah I did, he told me a few weeks ago..." Ellie admits.
"Well, that's great, Ellie. That's just great, in the week we were looking for him it didn't come into your mind to tell me this!" Dean shouts at his sister, she raises her hands in frustration.
"It wasn't really my place, Dean! I told him to tell you!" Ellie argues back, Dean shakes his head at her.
"Guys, the yellow-eyed demon, you know he has plans for me. And we both know that he's turned other children into killers before, too." Sam tells them.
"No one can control you but you." Ellie says looking her brother into his eyes.
"It sure doesn't seem like that, Ellie, it feels like no matter what I do, slowly but surely I'm, I'm just becoming..." Sam says. Dean snaps his head towards his brother.
"What?" Dean says.
"Who I'm meant to be. I mean, you said it once yourself, Dean. I gotta face up to who I am." Sam argues, Ellie and Dean shake their head.
"I didn't mean this!" Dean shouts.
"But it's still true. You know that. Dad knew that too. That's why he told you, if it ever came to this..." Sam starts, Ellie and Dean both narrow their eyes at their brother.
"Shut up, Sam." They say in unison.
"Dean, you promised him. You promised me." Sam says.
"No. Listen to me. We're gonna figure this out. Okay? I mean, there's gotta be a way, right?" Dean fumbles over his words, Sam looks disheartened and then looks at his duffel.
"Yeah there is." Sam says, and he takes a gun from his bag and shoves it at Dean. "I don't wanna hurt anyone else. I don't wanna hurt either of you." Ellie shakes her head, violently. Getting angry at this whole situation. Dean looks down, at the gun Sam is handing him.
"You won't. Whatever this is, you can fight it." Ellie tells her brother.
"No. I can't. Not forever." Sam says with tears in his eyes, he pushes the gun towards Dean. "Here, you gotta do it." They stare at each other for a long moment; then Sam grabs Dean's right hand and places the gun in it. Dean doesn't move, just stares at Sam in shock. Ellie looks at the situation unfold, not sure what to do.
"You know, I've tried to hard to keep you safe." Dean says, Ellie shakes his head and walks towards the window looking out with tears running down her face.
"I know." Sam says softly.
"I can't. I'd rather die." Dean shakes his head. Ellie sighs in relief but doesn't turn around as she is still crying. Dean drops the gun on the bed and shoulders past Sam.
"No. You'll live." Sam says. "You'll live to regret this." He then pistol-whips Dean, who falls to the floor unconscious. Ellie turns around and is shocked by what just happened.
"Sam, what the he-" Ellie starts but is interrupted by Sam firing the gun, hitting her leg. She falls to the floor and grabs her thigh writhing around a pain.
"For once in your life, would you just shut the hell up." Sam says and leaves the room. Ellie looks down at her leg which is bleeding quite badly, she crawls over to Dean who is still passed out, she reaches up to Dean's bag and grabs one of his belts and fashions a tourniquet, she groans in pain. She slaps Dean with her bloody hand.
"Dean. Dean. Wake up." Ellie says, Dean starts to come to and is very groggy. "Sam's gone. Dean, hey. Come on, dude." Ellie groans. Dean realises where he is and then looks at his little sister, his eyes widen when he sees her leg.
"What happened?" Dean asks, looking at her leg.
"Sam shot me. Dude, I think he's possessed." Ellie explains, Dean shakes his head.
"Well, that's fantastic." Dean mutters fluttering his hands over her leg, he grabs her hands making her push down on it, he goes to get the tweezers and stitches.
"Right, little sister, this is gonna hurt alright?" Dean says, Ellie nods her head as he pours whiskey over the wound, she hisses in pain and throws her head back as Dean goes into get the bullet out.
"Remind me when I find Sam to punch him in the face." Ellie groans, Dean shakes his head as he pulls the bullet out. He gets to stitching her up, Ellie sits up again and looks at her brother.
"I am sorry I didn't tell you about Sam, I didn't think it was my place." She says softly. Dean looks at her and sighs.
"It's okay, squish, don't worry. I get it. Right, okay, stitches are all done. Let's get you up." Dean says as he takes off the belt around her leg, he grabs her hands and helps her up. As this is happening there is a knock on the door, Dean goes to see who it is while Ellie walks around a bit, limping. Dean comes back in and tells her the manager, and they need to leave.

After bribing the manager to let them borrow his computer, Dean is on the phone.
"Hi, uh, so sorry to bother you, but uh, my son snuck out of the house last night and, uh, went to a Justin Timberlake concert... What? Yeah. No, Justin is quite the tripe threat. Uh, anyway, he's not back yet and, and I'm just, I'm just, I'm starting to worry.... Right. Yeah, boys will be boys. But see, Sammy is uh uh uh, a diabetic, and uh, if he doesn't get his insulin, I just, I have to find him. Please, I'm begging you. Yeah, no no no, I'm on the website right now, I just need to activate the GPS in his cell phone." Dean enters a password and a map pops up on the computer, Ellie who is standing behind him looking at the location. "Yeah, right there. Duluth, Minnesota. Yeah, that is a long way to go for a concert. I appreciate your help." Dean hangs up and looks at his sister.

They race over to Sam's location and burst into a bar to see Jo tied to a pole in a bar.
"Sam!" Dean shouts as he enters, Ellie comes in after and they eye up their brother carefully. Sam grabs the knife from the pillar, his calm expression shifting to one of desperate panic, and places the knife at Jo's throat. Ellie keeps her gun steady on her brother.
"I begged you to stop me!" Sam yells.
"Put the knife down, dammit!" Dean shouts back.
"I told you I can't fight it! My head feels like it's on fire, all right?! Dean.. Ellie.. Kill me, or I'm going to kill her. Please. You'd be doing me a favour! Shoot me." He turns towards Dean and Ellie with his arms spread. "Shoot me!" He shouts.
"No, Sammy come on!" Ellie tells him as Dean and her lower their guns.
"What the hell is wrong with you two!? Are you two that scared of being alone that you'd rather let Jo die?" Sam shouts. They both look away, then suddenly Ellie flings water from a flask at Sam; the water hisses and steams as it strikes him.
"That's holy water, you demonic son of a bitch!" Dean shouts. Sam raises his head; his eyes are solid black. Ellie flings more holy water at him; Sam growls, turns and runs, bursting through a window and fleeing. Dean takes the knife and cuts Jo free; she pulls the gag out of her mouth as Ellie limps towards the window and jumps through it, Dean is about to follow.
"He was possessed?!" Jo shouts, Dean turns and stares at her for a moment, then leaps through the window.
"Dean!" Ellie shouts making Dean follow her, Dean getting in front as Ellie still is limping.  They enter a warehouse, Dean and Ellie stalk through the dim warehouse, each with a handgun.
"So who are you?" Dean shouts into the warehouse, keeping Ellie behind him.
"I got lots of names." Sam answers.
"You've been in Sam since he disappeared, haven't you?" Ellie calls out.
"You shoulda seen you guys face when you thought he murdered that guy. Pathetic." Sam says.
"Why didn't you kill us? You had a dozen chances." Dean asks.
"Nah, that would have been too easy. Where's the fun in that? You see, this was a test. Wanted to see if I could push you two far enough to waste Sam. Dean I should've known you wouldn't have the sack. Anyway. Fun's over now."
"Well, I hope you got your kicks. 'Cause you're gonna pay hell for this, I'm gonna make sure of that." Dean says.
"How? You can't hurt me. Not without hurting your little brother. See, I think you two are gonna die. You and every other hunter I can find. One look at Sam's dewey, sensitive eyes? They'll let me right in the door." Sam tells them, Ellie and Dean exchange a glance and put their guns away. They end up on an open-air dock and look around. Sam steps out, takes aim and shoots Dean, hitting him in the shoulder. Dean is knocked into the water with a splash; Ellie is shocked as Sam aims for her, she quickly dives into the water to grab Dean, keeping them under for a few seconds. They then both surface as Dean grabs his shoulder, they swim to a ramp and pull themselves up. Dean passes out on the deck.
"Dean, Dean, Dean! Wake up." Ellie kneels over her brother gently hitting his face, suddenly his phone goes off, Ellie looks at it confused. Then Jo suddenly rushes up to them.
"Dean! Dean!" Jo shouts. He wakes with a groan, coughing. He shudders and groans in pain.
"Where's Sam?" Dean asks.
"I don't know, I dove in after you." Ellie says. She turns to Jo. "Help me stand him up." They help him to stand and Dean groans as they stand, Ellie suddenly hisses in pain and looks down to see her stitch has come undone and she's bleeding from the thigh.

BAR - NIGHT

Dean is seated at a table, gripping the edge with his right hand as Jo digs the bullet out of his left shoulder. He's groaning loudly. Ellie is sitting near him wincing as she stitches up her own thigh.
"Don't be a baby!" Jo tells him. She drops the bloodstained bullet in a glass of clear alcohol. Dean takes a few swigs from a bottle of whiskey. "God, you're a butcher. We should've just waited for Ellie to finish her stitches." He mumbles.
"I'm pretty busy over here, Dean. Suck it up." Ellie tells him as she finishes her stitch and breathes. She looks at Jo and Dean. "All right, are we done?"
"Gimme two minutes to patch him up? You two can't help Sam if he's bleeding to death." Jo states as Dean takes another swig as she continues layering gauze and tape over the wound. "So how did you two know? That he was possessed?"
"We weren't sure but we just knew it couldn't have been him." Ellie explains, Jo looks at Dean who nods at his sister's statement.
"Hey. I know demons lie, but... do they ever tell the truth too?" Jo asks.
"Uh, um, yeah, sometimes, I guess. Especially if they know it'll mess with your head." Dean answers.
"Why do you ask?" Ellie questions, eyeing her carefully.
"Nothing. Doesn't matter. So do you have any idea where he's headed to next?" Jo looks at the siblings who glance at each other.
"Well, so far he's been going after the nearest hunter, so... closest one I know lives in South Dakota." Dean says, Ellie gasps. Bobby.  As she looks at her brother who gives her a reassuring look.
"Okay, good, I'm done. Let's go." Jo says getting ready to leave. Dean stands up.
"Yeah. You're not coming." Dean says as he helps Ellie up.
"The hell I'm not. I'm a part of this now." Jo says adamantly.
"I can't say it more plan than this. You try to follow us and I'll tie you right back to that post and leave you here. This is my fight. I'm not getting your blood on my hands. That's just how it's gonna be." Dean tells her sternly, Ellie gives her a small smile.
"Thanks, I'll call you later, okay?" Dean says. As Dean helps a limping Ellie, they both leave.

BOBBY'S HOUSE

Ellie and Dean turn up to Bobby's house, as they pull up he opens the door.
"He's tied up." Bobby states plainly as the two Winchesters walk up to the house. Dean and Ellie give a small smile at the old man as they walk in. Dean pats him on the shoulder and walks into the home.
"I know you would be fine, Bobby." Ellie says smiling, walking up to him and lightly kissing him on the cheek. Bobby gives her a small smile and they walk into the house.
"It's good to see you again, squirt." Bobby says walking into the room.
"I wish it could be under better circumstances." Ellie mutters looking at her brother tied to a chair, under a Devil's Trap. Ellie leans against a wall while Dean smacks him in the face to wake him.
"Hey." Dean shouts, waking Sam up, sees the painted Devil's Trap, Dean and Ellie look up too.
"Dean. Ellie. Back from the dead. Getting to be a regular thing for you, isn't it? Like a cockroach." Sam tells them with narrow eyes.
"How about I smack that smart ass right out of your mouth?" Dean threatens.
"Oh, careful, now. Wouldn't want to bruise this fine packaging." Sam teases. Ellie pushes herself off the wall and walks towards her tied up brother.
"Oh don't worry, this isn't gonna hurt Sam much." Ellie picks up a bucket. "You, on the other hand..." Ellie tosses a bucketful of holy water on the possessed Sam, who sizzles and roars. "Feel like talking now?"
"Sam's still my meat puppet. I'll make him bite off his tongue." Sam taunts.
"No, you won't be in him long enough, Bobby." Dean says.
"Exorcisamus te, omnes in mundus spiritus
omnes satanica potestas, omnes incursio..." Bobby continues with the overlap as Dean talks to Sam.
"See, whatever bitch-boy master plan you demons are cooking up? You're not getting Sam. You understand me? 'Cause I'm gonna kill every one of you first." Dean says in anger. The demon struggles painfully, then throws back his head and laughs maniacally. Bobby cuts off in surprise.
"You really think that's what this is about? The master plan? I don't give a rat's ass about the master plan." The demon explains.
"Humiliares sub potente magnu dei..." Bobby starts again.
"Oops. Doesn't seem to be working. See, I learned a few new tricks." Sam lowers his head and begins growling Latin. "Spiritus in mundus, un glorum suarum umitite palatum iram, domine..." Sam continues as the fire behind him flares and the room shakes. Ellie and Dean exchange a look.
"This isn't going like I pictured! What's going on, Bobby?" Ellie shouts over the room. Booby sees a burn mark on Sam's forearm as he continues to chant.
"It's a binding link! It's like a lock! He's locked himself inside Sam's body!" Bobby answers.
"What the hell do we do?" Ellie asks, Dean shakes his head in confusion.
"I don't know!" Bobby states. Sam throws back his head and screams; the shaking walls and ceilings begin to crack, breaking the protective circle. Sam's eyes are black as he lowers his head.
"There. That's better." Sam smiles. He jerks his head left; Bobby goes flying. He jerks his head right; Dean and Ellie go flying landing heavily against the far wall. The holy water flask falls from Dean's hand. Dean flinches in pain from his shoulder while Ellie holds her leg. They watch Sam rip free of the restraints and stalk over to Dean and Ellie.
"Are you okay El?" Dean asks, Ellie groans and leans on his shoulder in response.
"You know when people want to describe the worse possible thing? They say it's like hell." Sam states as he kneels in front of Deal and Ellie, he fists Ellie's shirt and clocks her with a right jab. Dean then grabs onto Sam's shirt with his right hand.
"You now there's a reason for that. Hell is like, um..." Sam then punches Dean again. "Well, it's like hell. Even for demons." Ellie sits up straight again and Sam hits her. "It's a prison, made of bone and flesh and blood and fear." Sam explains and hits Dean again. "And you two sent me back there." Sam says looking at Ellie and Dean who are both groggy and bleeding.
"Meg." Ellie sneers.
"No. Not anymore. Now I'm Sam." He hits Ellie one more time; then digs his right thumb into Dean's bullet wound. "By the way. I saw your Dad there - he says "howdy"." He digs further into Dean's shoulder, Ellie sits up straight again and tries to push Sam of her brother, Sam responds by punching her again, knocking her out fully this time. "All that I had to hold onto, was that I would climb out one day, and that I was going to torture you two. Nice and slow. Like pulling wings off an insect." He shoves Dean's grasping hand away. "But whatever I do to you two, it's nothing compared to what you do to yourself is it? Look at your sister, Dean? You can't help her. You couldn't help you dad and you can't save your brother, you know that.... deep down. They'd be better off without you." Sam rears back to hit Dean again; suddenly Bobby is there, grabbing Sam's arm. He presses a hot poker into the mark on Sam's arm; he screams in pain, then screams as black smoke billows out of him and up the chimney. Dean pulls himself up painfully as Ellie wakes up. Sam falls back, then comes to himself, scrabbling and looking around in confusion, then grabs his arm in sudden pain.
"Sammy?" Dean groans.
"Did I miss anything?" Sam asks, Dean rears back and right hooks Sam in the cheek, then rolls his eyes and collapses next to Ellie. Sam grabs his cheek in confusion.

Later, Sam is sitting behind Bobby's table with an icepack on his arm, Dean and Ellie are on the other side of the table groggily holding an icebag to their face.
"By the way, you both really look like crap." Sam states, Ellie flips him off and smiles sarcastically.
"Yeah, right back atcha." Dean says. Bobby then walks in slowly, looking concerned.
"What is it, Bobby?" Sam asks.
"You three ever hear of a hunter named Steve Wandell?" Bobby questions, eyeing them all up. The three all shift uncomfortably in their seats.
"Why do you ask?" Dean says.
"Just heard from a friend. Wandell's dead. Murdered in his own house." Sam swallows and looks down. "You wouldn't know anything about that." Bobby says still looking at the three.
"No sit, never heard of the guy." Dean lies, Ellie looks at him.
"Dean-" Sam starts.
"Good. Keep it that way. Wandell's buddies are looking for someone or something to string up, and they're not going to slow down to listen to reason. You understand what I'm saying?" Bobby says sternly.
"We better hit the road. If, uh, you can remember where we parked the car." Dean says.
"Here. Take these." Bobby hands each of them a small metal charm.
"What are they?" Ellie asks.
"Charms. They'll fend off possession. That's demon's still out there. This'll stop it from getting back up in ya." Bobby explains, Ellie smiles gratefully.
"That sounds vaguely dirty, but uh, thanks." Dean states.
"You're welcome. You three be careful now." Bobby tells them.
"You two." Sam smiles at Bobby. Bobby looks back at him seriously, not returning the smile. Ellie gives Bobby a light kiss on the cheek and his lips tug at the sides into a small smile.

ROAD

Dean is driving down a dark stretch of highway. Sam is frowning quietly, Dean looks over and Ellie leans forward to look at him in concern.
"You okay? Sam? Is that you in there?" Ellie asks.
"I was awake for some of it, guys. I watched myself kill Wandell with my own two hands; I saw the light go out in his eyes."
"That must have been awful." Ellie says softly.
"That's not my point. I almost carved up Jo too. But no matter what I did, you wouldn't shoot." Sam looks at Dean.
"It was the right move, Sam. It wasn't you." Dean justifies his actions.
"Yeah, this time. What about next time?" He asks.
"Sam, when Dad told me.. that I might have to kill you, it was only if I couldn't save you. Now, if it's the last thing I do, I'm gonna save you." Dean states with confidence laced in his voice. There's a small pause then Ellie leans back in her seat laughing softly.
"What?" Sam asks.
"Nothing." Ellie says with a small smile.
"Ellie, what?" Sam repeats.
"Dude, you-you like, full-on had a girl inside you for a whole week." Ellie says causing Dean and Sam to also laugh.
"That's pretty naughty." Dean adds, the three all laugh and drive on.
