CHAPTER FIVE

CHAPTER FIVE

I go crazy as I run towards him and threw my hand around his neck. He chuckled and hugged me on the waist. "Missed me Humphrey grumpy?" He asked parted our bodies a little so he can look at me.

His hand traced my frowning eyebrows. "Stop frowning. Is that how you greet me?"

"You called me humphrey grumpy!" I pouted which made him laugh again. He's been calling me that since we were kids. He calls me that whenever he teases me or whenever he wants.

He kissed me chastely on the forehead. "I missed you Katherine" I smiled and was about to answer when a cough broke our conversation. Oh Jeanne!

I move out of Vince's touch and walk towards Jeanne who secured a hand possessively on my waist. "Oh my. I'm so sorry baby. Finally. You will meet my always hiding best friend Vince. Vince Spencer. Vince this is my husband. Jeanne"

Vince's face shows no expression at all when he offered a hand to Jeanne. Jeanne reached and shook his hand. Wait... Is it just me or are is there really a tension between them?

"Nice to meet you" Vince finally spoke but his face was serious, not even friendly! "By the way baby he's a prince too, he was the uncrowned prince of France and he doesn't usually use the title"

He just kissed me on the lips and answered "Hmm. I see" Oh my! Do I have to be shy about it?

"Okay enough with meet and greet. Jeanne you have to sit now. Teresa's on her way" That was Sophia, coming from...I don't know.

Jeanne possessively kissed me again on the lips in front of Vince which I didn't even thought about not until we were done. "Go now. Sophia will get mad" I whispered and he gave me one quick kiss and walked away.

I looked back at Vince with now a sour face and I suddenly saw him not wearing his flower and necktie. "Where is your tie?!" I angrily said at him. Teresa's on her way now!

He pulled his tie from his inner pocket and handed it to me. I grabbed it and pushed his collar up to wrap it around his neck...just like before.

"I told you to bring your date so someone will take care of you" I lectured.

"My date is here now" he answered. What? I stopped tying the necktie. I want to know her. What if she's not good for my best friend?

"Where is she?" I asked. "In front of me, can't you see? She's taking care of me" I punched him on the chest while he chuckles.

When I finished tying his tie I straighten his suit "When are you going to get married? Mommy wants to have grandchildren now!" I scolded. He's twenty eight and a bachelor. A playboy bachelor as they say but I've never seen him that way. He never plays with girls! I also call her mom mommy, he is their only son and his father died four years ago.

"Well that depends" he simply answered.

I frowned. "Depends on what?"

"Depends on my love" My love? Is he not telling me something?! Does he have a girlfriend now and not telling me?!

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah right. Don't introduce me to her!"

He chuckled. "You know her actually" I frowned and think. Who is she? A childhood friend of ours? Someone we met at gatherings? Or someone I do not know?

"Did you asked her already? About marriage I mean." I asked.

"Yes"

"Did she said yes? When am I going to meet her?" I asked enthusiastically and of course to see if she meets my standards. My best friend deserves only the best!

"She didn't said yes" I shivered. What?! She refused?! "Who is she?! I hate her!" I said and he chuckled.

"That's fine I'll ask her again" he said.

"Why will you?! Just look for another!" No one shall turn down my best friend!

"But I love her...very much" he emphasized on the end of what he said. "When are you going to ask her again?" I asked softly. I saw sadness in his eyes. He was hurt, I know that. Why does he always have to be in pain?

"It will depend..."

"Depend on what?" I asked.

"Depends on..." He said and looked at me straight to the eye.

"It will depend on when you will you be having your divorce and marry me..."
