20. Attack Of The Headless Horror

Feedback for this story would greatly be appreciated.

A bird cawed high in the skies of the amazon jungle as the hot sun beat down.  A large hulking man walked with a machete in hand, He raised his arm and slashes through the thick foliage  grunting as he carved a path. He walked up ahead drawing back some vines and in into his sight appeared a large temple in the distance. "Whoa..." He says impressed before he turns around. "Marion, Cachinga." He calls out and blonde woman rushes up to him now. "We found it. The ancient burial heap of Skalr Gringot." The man says before he turns his head. "I told you legend plenty true, Chachinga."

A man from the bushes with a spear appears now. "Yes. Amazing." He says not overly impressed.

The hulking man begins to run towards the temple now as Marion and Cachinga follow him. As they near the temple however Marion trips letting out a cry of pain that stops the hulking man and Cachinga.  As the two rush back to check on her now.

"My ankle. I think it's broken." Marion says.

The hulking man gently picks up her foot but she winces in pain.

"Cachinga. Make plenty fast for camp. Fetch medicine kit for wifey. Bring here quicky, quicky. Kaykay?" The Hulking man asks.

Cachinga says nothing as he simply hands the spear to the hulking and begins to run heading back to their campsite.

"I'm sorry honey, I know you're excited. Go on. I'll be fine here. Alone." Marion says to her husband.

Okay." The hulking man says as he begins to run towards the temple again.

"Huh?" Marion says watching her husband run off.

"Love you!" The hulking man cries back as he reaches the temple now and dashes up it's stairs. Sat the the top is large engraved boulder that blocks the temple's entrance, The hulking man uses the spear Cachinga handed him earlier to pry it off it's resting point. It begins to roll before it soon flies down the stairs towards where Marion is resting and she has to roll to avoid it as it speeds past her flattening the terrain below it. With the entrance now open the hulking man secures a rope to the top as he throws the other end down into the temple. He slowly lowers himself down with a torch in hand as he looks around. It doesn't take him long as he soon reaches the temple floor. Sat on a pillar was a black engraved chest that caught the man's attention. He grins as she slowly makes his way over to it. The engravings on it seems to be in the local langauge and he begins to read the message on the chest now. "Take not my head or a curse on you. My body shall forever avenge the wrong you do. A curse...This day just gets better and better!" He says as he opens the chest now a green glow leaks out of it now as he looks down. "Whoa..." He says as he reaches his hands in now and picks up what appears to be a deformed and shrunken head on a chain. He soon gets a fright when the head springs into life.

"You were warned." It cries and the man yells frightened. A hand appears on his shoulder now and he turns around to see a body that once belonged to the head, On it's torso is a face and it growls at the hulking man as he screams.

It was morning in Crystal Cove, Horns blared on the busy main road as the Mystery machine weaved it's way through the traffic with hit tires screeching.

"Slow down, Fred." Daphne says.

"I agree this is a most uncomfortable journey..." Y/n says sat with his arms crossed.

"I can't. I don't want to be late for school." Fred replies to the two.

"Like, since when don't you want to be late for school?" Shaggy asks as he, Velma and Scooby are constantly being tossed about in the back.

"Since I found out who our new biology teacher is." Fred answers as keeps his eyes on the road.

"Who?" Everyone asks him.

"Dr Rick Spartan." Fred says excitedly.

"Uh, never heard of him." Scooby says.

"That's because you don't read trap magazines like I do. They guy's a legend." Fred replies.

"Let me hazard a guess. He builds traps?" Y/n asks Fred.

"No. He just gets out of them a lot." Fred answers as he sharply turns the wheel, The mystery machine swerves as Velma gets thrown into one of the van walls with Shaggy soon following and he uses his hands to keep stop him crashing into Velma. It bring him close to Velma's face however as the two stare at one another.

  "Sorry..." Shaggy says sheepishly.

"No, It's okay. You don't need to move." Velma says back to him with a small smile.

"Really? Well, does that mean, like you wanna uh maybe, like be friends again?" Shaggy asks her nervously.

"Maybe." Velma says with a smile.

Y/n looks back now out of the corner of his eye before her turns to Fred.  "Keep the van straight." He says sternly to Fred.  Daphne looks back at the scene herself now and lets out a love sigh as she turns back around and rests her head on Y/n's shoulder.

"You okay there Daphne?" Y/n asks her.

"Sorry do you not like it?" Daphne asks him.

"I didn't say I...disliked it." Y/n says scratching his cheek and Daphne smiles keeping her head there.

The gang were all sat in biology class now as the large hulking man throws himself back into the chalkboard. The man had written his name on the chalkboard as it read out Dr Rick Spartan.

"The Headless horror had me pinned against the wall. It punched me again, and again, and again." He grunts as he simulates being punched. "It picked me up by the throat and threw me to the ground." He says now before indeed throwing himself to the ground in front of the class. "It stomped on me. Over and over and over. Both my arms were broken, I had sixteen fractured ribs."

"What did you do?" Fred asks on the edge of his seat.

"Do? The only thing I could do. I kicked it right in the face!" The man answers as he kicks the air to demonstrate his point. "It stumbled back, giving me just enough time to climb up the rope using only my left pinky." He says flexing his pinky.

"No way!" Fred says enjoying every moment of the story.

"But that's the way it goes when you live the life of adventure. Raght, Cachinga?" The man asks as he turns to Cachinga who was stood nearby the classroom door holding his spear.

"If you says so." Cachinga says.

Now, listen up. I don't know much about biology. So if you want to know what a spleen is you go read a book. But if you wanna know how to escape the clutches of an 800 pound sumo wrestler who's trying to put a poison dart in your back then you're in the right place. Class dismissed."

"But there's 45 minutes left." One of the students says at the back of the room.

"Cachinga." The man says and Cachinga throws his spear impaling the clock.  "I said, class dissmissed!" As the students flee out the room now save for the Mystery gang. Y/n was sat looking rather fed up annoyed.

"Do you think he would notice if I just stopped turning up?" Y/n asks no one in particular as he plays with a pen between his fingers.

"Play nice." Daphne says and Y/n sighs.

"Dr Spartan. Wow!" Fred says getting up now and rushing to shake his hero's hand. "I'm you're biggest fan. I've read about all of you're adventures. And you know, we have a lot of adventures too." Fred says pointing to the gang.

"You don't say." Dr Spartan says.

"Yeah we solve mysteries. We've almost been killed a couple of times." Fred says.

"Don't you just love it when that happens? Isn't it just the best." Dr Spartan asks him.

"Absolutely!" Fred replies.

"No. Not really." The others say.

"Do you still have that shrunken head?" Fred asks next.

"I sure do. It's super creepy too. Hey, you wanna see it?" Dr Spartan asks the gang now.

"Absolutely!" Fred says again.

"Not really." The gang reply.

"Why don't you all come by for dinner tonight? And I'll show you my whole collection of cool stuff." Dr Spartan says.

"That would be awesome!" Fred says replying for everyone.

"Make sure you bring your appetites. We're eating cow." Dr Spartan says as he leaves.

"Ew..."

"He means steak." Cachinga says before he also leaves.

"Oh."

"Isn't this great you guys?" Fred asks everyone now.

"Is this really that important to you Fred?" Y/n asks him.

"Of course, I've been reading about Dr Spartan's adventures since I was a kid." Fred says and Y/n sighs.

"I don't get on well with people like Dr Spartan, We are two men on the different side of coin. His life style is a chosen one, mine was not. But if it really means that much to you Fred I'll come along." Y/n says.

"Thanks Y/n." Fred says with a grin.

It was evening and the gang were all at Dr Spartan's house sat down to dinner.  Dr Spartan, Scooby and Shaggy all ate with a quick pace and little manners. The others like Y/n, Daphne, Velma, Fred,  Chachinga and Dr Spartan's wife all ate with in a more dignified manner.

"This is yummy!" Scooby says.

"Indeed, You are a wonderful cook Mrs Spartan." Y/n says complimenting their host.

"Thank you. It is such a joy to be able to go to the supermarket and get cow right off of the shelf. So much easier than chasing it down." She replies.

"So how long will you be teaching?" Daphne asks Dr Spartan now.

"Long enough for Marion to have a break. Living in the jungle's rough on her." Dr Spartan says.

"It's the little things you miss. Warm showers, Dishwasher, Not having to check your back for ticks..." Marion starts.

"Steadiness..." Y/n says before he finishes his food and Marion nods as she collects everyone's finished plates taking them away.

"You rest up honey. A few months of R&R, and we'll be ready to hit the adventure highway again.  Right Cachinga?" Dr Spartan asks.

"Quite." Cachinga says.

"How long have you worked with Dr Spartan?" Velma asks him.

"Quite a while actually, We were students at Oxford. Upon graduation he hired me straight away to be his assistant." Cachinga says.

"I'm assuming "Cachinga" Is not your real name." Y/n says.

"My real name is Charles, Charles Wheatelseby. Rick calls me Cachinga because he likes to pretend I'm a wild savage." Charles says to Y/n who give him a look of sympathy. "The pay is good so I don't mind."

"Then why don't you wear the outfit I bought you?" Dr Spartan asks him.

"I'm not putting on a bear skin and antlers..." Charles says.

"That what savages wear." Dr Spartan replies.

"I've got the spear. Isn't that good enough?" Charles argues back.

No. You just look like a dude with a spear." Dr Spartan says.

"Well, I'm sorry if I'm a disappointment." Charles says standing up. "If you'll excuse me. I'll be in my yurt." He says before excusing himself.

"You shouldn't be so hard on him Rick. He's saved your life more than once." Marion says returning to the room now.

Dr Spartan sighs. "Yeah. I know. I'll go apologise...but first, What do you say we go see that shrunken head?" He says to the gang. The gang all look at Dr Spartan as he gets up now and they follow him as he leads them all to room opening a door.

The room is filled with many different artefacts and collectibles from Dr Spartan's adventures. The gang walk into the room as they look around.

"All of this is from your adventures?" Scooby asks.

"Yup. Well, all except that clown mask. I bought that in Reno." Dr Spartan says pointing to nearby mask. "Now, here it is." Dr Spartan announces leading the hang to the shrunken head which hangs on it's chain.  "The shrunken head of Sklar Gringot...Wanna hold it?" He asks the gang.

"Absolutely." Fred says excitedly being the first one to answer while everyone else looks at it haphazardly. Fred gets closer to the head now.

"You're not worried about the curse?" Daphne asks him.

"No. I left that headless thing thousands of miles away back in the Amazon jungle." Dr Spartan says as Fred touches the head now. "There's no way it.." But the house begins to shake now as a roaring can be heard and the rooms door slams shut.  A wall behind the gang begins to rumble now before a large hole is made in it and smoke fills the room from the falling bricks. As the smoke clears everyone can see the headless monster Dr Spartan had been talking about in his class earlier that day growls before it roars. Dr Spartan tries to open the door now but his prove to be fruitless. "I t won't open!" He turns to look at the creature now and without thinking he rushes forward to try and land a kick on it. The monster how grab him by his leg and throws him backwards against the door and he is knocked out as his head hits it. Seeing his hero knocked out spurs Fred into action and he grabs a spear from a rack using it hit the monster in one of it's eyes and it staggers backwards. Fred turns around but can already see Y/n tossing another spear to Shaggy as he has one in his own hands and three men step towards the creature spears in hand as they drive it back and out of the hole in the wall. Dr Spartan groans as he regains consciousness now. and he looks to see the monster looking at him.

"I shall return. I shall be with you forever!" It cries before it then flees.

The gang were sat in Dr Spartan's living room now as his wife cleaned a small wound on his head. "I don't understand how that thing could have found me here." He says confused. The front door opens now as everyone can see Charles rushing in.

"Is everything all right? I heard a frightful commotion." Charles says.

"Where you were? Why you not come when monster make bad bad?" Dr Spartan says and Charles sighs.

"Dr Spartan, What can you tell us about this curse?" Velma asks him.

"It was carved into the box. It said if I took the head it's body would avenge the wrong I did forever." Dr Spartan answers.

"So you decided to take the head..." Y/n says dryly.

"I can't spend the rest of my life running from that thing. I've gotta find a way to break the curse." Dr Spartan says stressed now.

"Like, how are you gonna do that?" Shaggy asks.

"Velma, Your mother is quite knowledgeable about things of this matter no? Perhaps you and Shaggy could pay her visit and see if she produce an answer for this problem." Y/n is quick to propose.

Velma and Shaggy look at one another for a moment.

"Like, I guess that works." Shaggy says as he and Velma both leave now.

"Hey, Why didn't we all go?" Fred asks.

"Because those two need a gentle push in the right direction." Y/n replies and Daphne nods in agreement. Scooby and Fred just look at one another confused.

Shaggy and Velma were sat inside the Crystal Cove spook museum as Velma's mum poured them both cups of coffee. "Hmm, A shrunken head curse. That's a lot of bad mojo. Not easy to break.

"Then there's nothing we can do?" Velma asks.

"I didn't say that. I just said it wouldn't be easy. I'll go get my curse book." Her mom says before she leave. As she does Shaggy and Velma start to drink their coffee as they make eye contact with one another. Velma finishes drinking as she wipes off remnants of her drink off her upper lip.

"I'm glad you came with me, Shaggy." Velma says now and he sets his cup down.

"I'm like, glad I came too. To be honest with you, Velma..like, I really missed you, uh, us." Shaggy says.

"Me too." Velma says with a smile. The two look at each other again as they start to hold hands and smile.

"Good news!" Velma's moms voice can be heard as she returns with a heavy book and the two look at her now. "I think I found an incantation to break the curse." She opens her book. "Let's see now. Okay. It says the incantation has to be said in a jungle."

"The jungle? But the Amazon's thousands of miles away." Velma says.

"It doesn't have to be the Amazon. Any jungle will do." Velma's mom says.

"But like, we don't have any jungle in Crystal Cove." Shaggy says.

"Hmm. Wait. Yes, we do." Velma says clicking her fingers. "The botanical gardens. They've got that new mini rainforest. That's a jungle."

"It also says that the incantation has to be recited by a jackal." Velma's mom says reading more.

"Great. Where are we going to get a talking jackal?" Velma asks Shaggy.

"I could order you one, but it'll take a couple of weeks." Velma's mom says.

"Like, wait a minute. What about Scooby Doo? He can talk." Shaggy says.

"It's worth a shot." Velma says.

The gang were wall gathered with Dr Spartan at the Crystal Cove botanical gardens now.

"What are we waiting for? Let's do this." Dr Spartan says.

"The instructions say we can't start until precisely midnight." Velma says reading them over last time.

Fred looks at a timer in his hands now. "Forty seconds to go."

"I'm surprised Cachinga didn't come to help." Daphne says.

"Ah he's cheesed off about the way I spoke to him at dinner. Say's I don't respect him and that I take him for granted. Natives" Dr Spartan scoffs.

"Shocking..." Y/n says sarcastically.

"Yo-hoo!"  A voice calls out and everyone looks to see Velma's mom appearing from some nearby bushes dressed in tribal gear and holding a staff. "Mind if I join in? I just love incantations. They're such a hoot. Oh I brought you this." She hands the staff out to Scooby.

"Do I need this for the ceremony?" He asks.

"Not really. It just adds a little sizzle." She says happily.

"Midnight. Okay Scoob, You're up." Fred says. Scooby takes a hold of the staff like a dog does with a stick and both Shaggy carrying a tray of items and Dr Spartan holding the Shrunken head on a chain follow him. Scooby digs a hole in the ground before he takes the staff out of his mouth and starts chanting in a foreign language. As he does so he takes items from the tray and puts them into the hole before finally taking a hold of the head.

"Shrinky head, go back to jungle." Scooby says as he puts it in the hole and covers it up with dirt. "I did it." Scooby giggles.

"Good job Scoob!" Shaggy says but the ground soons to rumble and  a familiar roaring can be heard everyone looks to see the headless creature nearby.  "On second thought, Zoinks!" Shaggy says terrified.

"Maybe you needed a jackal after all." Velma's mother says to Velma.

The creature moves to stand in front of Dr Spartan now. "Why won't you leave me alone?" He cries.

"You have plundered not just my tomb, but countless others. I shall follow you all the days of your life." The creature says.

"No!!!" Dr Spartan cries as he charges at the creature and landing a punch in one of it's eyes forcing it closed, It picks him of up however throwing him into a tree as the gang watch the fight.

"You shall never be rid of me!" The creature laughs before it then flees. With it now out of sight everyone turns their attentions to Dr Spartan who lies passed out after hitting his head once again.

"Now this Fred, Is why we don't charge in without a plan...Let's get him to the hospital." Y/n says.

The gang had taken Dr Spartan to hospital now and were visiting his room. His wife was there waiting when the gang had brought him in after receiving a call from the teens.

"He'll be alright. He just needs rest, and a few operations." The doctor says to them.

The door to room opens now with Charles rushing in. "Oh dear me. Rick?  What happened?" He asks.

"Like you give a whoop." Dr Spartan says.

"What are you talking about? Of course I do." Charles says.

"Ah who cares? It doesn't matter. Just go back to Oxford Charles. I don't need you anymore, I'm quitting." Dr Spartan says and Fred gasps.

"Oh, Darling. Are you sure?" His wife asks.

"I'm sure. Maybe, just maybe that thing will leave me alone if I stop all this adventure stuff."

"Yes. Yes maybe it will." Marion says in agreement.

"But Dr Spartan. You can't quit, You're awesome. The world needs guys like you." Fred says.

"I'm sorry Fred but the gig is up. It's time to start living the life of an average boring Joe." Dr Spartan says.

"I thought he said his name was Rick." Scooby says.

"Dr Spartan, Please don't quit. Give us one more chance to figure out how to stop that thing." Fred pleads.

The gang were back at the botanical gardens now as they searched for clues. Their flashlights covered lots of ground but soon they find something that sticks out of a nearby bush. Fred crouches down as he picks it up, then holds it up. Velma shines her torch at it.

"What is it?" Daphne asks.

"I'm not sure." Fred replies.

"It looks like a huge contact lens." Velma says before she gasps. "Jinkies! That's right. Just before the creature threw Dr Spartan against the tree he hit it right in the eye."

"It must have fallen off." Daphne points out.

"Over here." The three can hear Y/n say and they walk over to see him, Shaggy and Scooby near to the hole

"You find something Y/n?" Fred asks.

"Indeed." Y/n replies holding up a ring now. "It's Oxford..." He says and the gang look at each other.

Charles was stood outside of Dr Spartan's room now as the Mystery Gang walked through the hallway with Sheriff Stone.

"There he is Sheriff. Arrest that native." Fred says pointing to Charles and two officers begin to put cuffs on him.

"Arrest me? What on earth for?" Charles asks.

"These kids uh...they say that you're the headless thing that's been whomping Dr Spartan. I tend to agree. Take him away."

"No. There's been some mistake. This is ridiculous.  I'm British. Stop groping me you rapscallion." Charles says as she is led away.

"Good Job." Sheriff Stone says. "For once I think you got this right. Repeat that to anyone and I will deny it." He says before leaving.

The gang open Dr Spartan's hospital door now.

"What's going on out there?" Dr Spartan asks.

"It was Cachinga." Fred says. "He was pretending to be the headless horror all along."

"I never should of trusted that guy. Wait. That means the curse is a fake. There's no creature. Ha-ha! I can go back to the jungle. Live the life of adventure again. It's gonna be alright!" Dr Spartan says happily as he and Fred high five. The celebration is short lived however as the the room rumbles and headless creature crashes through the window.

"I don't think so..." The creature says before it roars.

"Let's get him out of here!" Fred says as he disables the brakes on Dr Spartan's hospital bed. The gang work together as they wheel the bed out of the room with the creature chasing them as they speed down the hallways. The gang all hop onto the bed now as Y/n steers it.

"We're never going to make it!" Shaggy cries. As they pass through the hallways Y/n grabs a fire extinguisher off the wall now and passes it to Fred. He uses it as he sprays the creature in the face pushing it back just as it was catching up to them.

"Nice thinking Y/n!" Fred says.

"We're not out of the woods yet." Y/n says as he can see Hospital entrance now. "Get ready."

The bed flies through the doors that luckily opened just in time, Y/n pulls on a small lever that applies the brakes to Dr Spartan's bed bringing it to a halt. Fred meanwhile takes out a small device and the gang watches as the headless creature runs out of the hospital doors now. As it does however Fred presses a button on his device and a net quickly swoops up from underneath the creature as it traps it.

Sheriff Stone who had just finished putting Charles into the back of his patrol car hears the commotion and he turns around to see the trapped creature. "What in the name of kettle corn is going on? I thought you said he was the creature?" He says pointing to Charles annoyed now.

"We're sorry to trick you Sheriff but we needed everyone to believe it was Cachinga so we could set a trap for the person who was really behind this." Daphne elaborates.

Fred lowers the net now and pulls off the creatures mask revealing Marion Spartan was the culprit.

"Marion!" Dr Spartan says surprised.

"How did you know that she'd attack? I don't get that!" Sheriff Stone says angrily confused..

"We knew that if Dr Spartan found out the curse was fake he'd want to go back to living a life of adventure in the jungle." Y/n starts to explain.

"A life she definitely didn't want." Velma says.

"Fine. I admit it." Marion says.

"Well, you kind of have to. We caught you in the costume." Sheriff Stone says. "But how did you know it was her?"

"I believe this belongs to you." Y/n says holding out the ring to Marion now. "You went to Oxford too did you not?" Y/n says now.

"Marion sighs. "Yes." As she takes the ring and slips it on her finger.

"But, Marion? Why did you do it?" Her husband asks.

"Because I love you. Because I hate living in the jungle. It's Icky. I decided if I couldn't convince you to give up that life I'd scare you out of it. I came up with the fake legend of Sklar Gringot. I forged an ancient map to the ruins and put it somewhere you'd find it. I knew you wouldn't be able to resist the challenge. You would be so consumed with finding your next great treasure you wouldn't be thinking of me, as usual. I pretended to break my ankle because I knew you'd send Cachinga for help and go up into the ruins by yourself. And when you did, my plan fell into place. It gave me a chance to sneak around the ruins which were actually an old abandoned movie set. The headless horror costume was the final piece of the puzzle. I had it specially designed and took months of Pilates to train my abdominal muscles to the point I could control the mouth with my abs." Marion explains.

"But...The shrunken head. It talked to me." Dr Spartan says.

"I got it at a Halloween store. You can record whatever you want it to say. I'm sorry darling. I never meant to hurt you. I just wanted us to live a normal life...which we could have if it weren't for these meddling sycophants...Can you ever forgive me?" Marion says now.

"Sure I do baby. I know I'm not the easiest guy to live with. You were just trying to get through to me. Don't worry we'll work it out. Sheriff, I don't want to press charges." Dr Spartan says.

"Yeah, I uh, figured." Sheriff Stone says.

"Dr Spartan." Y/n says and the man looks at him, "Take it from someone who has led a life more abnormal than yours. A simple life is nothing to snubbed at." Y/n says.

Dr Spartan smiles and nods now. "Wheel me back to my room?" Dr Spartan asks his wife.

"Of course darling." She says as she disengages the break to his bed and starts to wheel him away.

"Cachinga, Come." Dr Spartan says.

Charles is let out of the patrol car now. "Thank you, It's been lovely." He says as he join the couples side.

"Hey, How about I order us a bunch of pizzas and we watch a movie in my room? Who's in?" Dr Spartan asks.

"Yeah I'm in!" Scooby quickly says.

"Actually, Daphne." Y/n was saying as he turns to her. "I was wondering if you'd like to go somewhere else. Just the two of us." He asks her.

"Oh Y/n, I'd love to." Daphne says with a smile as she links her arms with one of his. "Sorry gang count us out." She and Y/n give everyone a wave goodbye now as they hail a cab.

"Well I'm still in, anyone else?" Fred asks the rest of the gang.

"...Sure why not?" Sheriff Stone says as he walks inside with everyone.

"We'll be right there." Velma says as she stops Shaggy taking a hold of arm.

"Like, What's up Velm?" Shaggy asks.

"Shaggy, I've been thinking about what happened between us at my mom's store." Velma says.

"I've been thinking about that too." Shaggy starts. "Like, I was wondering if Um, maybe you, want to get back together?" Shaggy asks rubbing the back of his head nervously.

"Shaggy...we can't let it be like before." Velma says referring to her and Scooby's fighting over Shaggy.

"Right. Like, Got it." Shaggy says as he gulps. Velma smiles as she takes Shaggy's hand and he looks down at her. Shaggy closes his eyes as she slowly leans in and kisses Velma with her kissing back.

Y/n and Daphne were walking along the Crystal Cove beach hand in hand as the moon shone high above them. "This is so romantic." Daphne says with a content sigh resting her head on Y/n's shoulder.

"Daphne, Can we talk?" Y/n asks her and the two stop on the beach now. Daphne lifts her head off of Y/n's shoulder as he moves to stand away from her a little and he puts his hand in his coat pockets.

"I've been doing a lot of thinking recently." Y/n starts. "About myself. and, about you." Daphne looks at him now. "I've started dating Dusk." He says and Daphne's mouth opens in surprise. "Please just... let me finish what I have to say first." Y/n says stopping her. Before he turns away and looks up at the moon. "Being with Dusk has caused me to learn something important about myself. I can't give you a normal relationship Daphne. There are too many different aspects about me that clash. Dusk satisfies the wild fiery side of my personality." Y/n says and Daphne looks away not wanting to have her heart broken again. "But then there is you, You who soothes and mends the hurt I feel in my damaged heart. Right now it feels like my heart has been been wrapped in two chains and each of you holds one of those chains. Dusk is Chaos, Tempting and ever challenging me for dominance, You are order, Calmness and serenity. Offering stability and a future. You're the first person that's ever made me wonder what a normal life would actually be like to have." Y/n says and he looks down now. "Looking at Dr Spartan earlier made me realise we can't do this forever, one day were all going to want to have settled lives. You make me feel like a better person Daphne. Even if I'm not one. But I know that I can't be with just one person anymore." Y/n admits to both Daphne and himself as he turns to her slightly now. "I'm telling you this because I don't want this to go any further, if you can't do this, I understand. It's not normal. But getting closer to you all I've realised I'm not normal." Y/n says as he finishes now and lets out a deep sigh.

"Y/n..." Daphne says and he looks at her from the corner of his eye. "You're right... It's not normal." Daphne says and Y/n lets out a sad smile having expected this answer. "But I don't think I can blame you for being this way. You've been through experiences that have obviously... hurt you." Daphne says as she takes one of Y/n's hand out of his pockets and she slips her fingers into his. "I want to be there with you, to help you through whatever it is that comes up. It's too late for me to give up on you now. Not when I've fallen love with you like I have." Daphne says and Y/n turns to her taken a back by her words but he looks forward again.

"Could you really do it Daphne? Could you really "share" me with Dusk?" He asks her.

Daphne rests her head on Y/n's shoulder again now as the two watch the waves. "I don't know. But I know if I give up, I'll regret it for the rest of my life. I've never met someone like you before  Y/n." Daphne says.

"That's a good thing." Y/n says.

"I don't mean because of your past." Daphne says and he stops. "I mean because of how much you care, You've been there for us all when we have needed you. But for me especially. When Fred broke my heart you were there to help me get through it. I wasn't trying to fall in love with you, It just happened." Daphne says honestly and Y/n turns to look at her now.

"I never meant to fall in love, But both you and Dusk slowly crept into my heart." Y/n starts. "I can try to lie to myself and deny it but the fact is that won't change now. I care about you both too much." Y/n sighs now. "Where do we even go from here?"

"I want to give it a try." Daphne says as she turns her head to Y/n now and as he turns to look properly at her, Daphne takes a leap of faith as she slowly leans in now. Y/n realising what she is trying to down begins to slowly lean in now as well.

Y/n and Daphne close their eyes as the lips connect now and the two share their first kiss together. There was no passion or sloppiness in the kiss. It was slow and delicate as the two slowly enjoyed learning the feeling of one another's lips. The two then slowly pull apart from each other but stay close as their eyes open and small strand of saliva is all that separates their lips. Their eyes connect now for a moment as they stare at each other before immediately their lips crash into each other again this time more hungry and rushed. Daphne's arm's wraps around Y/n's neck as she pulls him down to her height and his own arms wrap around her frame as he holds her against him.

And that's the chapter. So...Y/n and Daphne are now dating as well as Shaggy and Velma getting back together. Was anyone expecting that this chapter? If you are enjoying this story then don't forget to leave a vote and a comment and I shall see you all next week in...
