Chapter 2 - The First Hairstyling Class Of The Year

"What are you going to do about Athena?" Jayde asked.

"Dude, I already told you! I'm going to need to perform my best ever dance!" I reminded her as we bought our sandwiches and made our way to a table.

"Aiyo, how am I supposed to remember everything?" Jayde ripped open her sandwich box.

"Well if I can remember everything then so can you!" I joked.

"Okay class! I hope you remember how to follow a dance from a video because you are doing that as an assessment! Now, I know it's only the beginning of the year, but you have a performance coming up and end of year exams!"

Jayde and I were in dance class, and in this class we danced, prepared for upcoming performances, prepared for end of year exams and had to research different dancers etc. You get my drift.

"Have you decided a song yet?" Jayde whispered.

"Yes! I have plenty of ideas!" I replied quietly.

"You may start.... now!" The teacher announced.

I ran to the nearest rehearsal room and started learning the dance immediately.

"How do you already know what you're gonna do?" Jayde complained.

"It's a trait of mine that no one else can have" I joked.

"Ha ha very funny, but still, what song am I going to do?" Jayde wailed.

"Hey! Think about it at home (and now)!! I'm sure you'll come up with something!" I encouraged her.

The bell rang and class ended. I put on my cardigan and gathered my stuff.

"What do we have next again?" Jayde asked.

"Hairstyling, ahahahahah what do you think? You're my victim mwahahahahahahh." I replied.

Jayde laughed, "I think they chose me to be a victim 'cause I have long hair."

"Yeah that's probably why."

They got to class and got settled, the trainee hairstylists standing behind the 'victims'. I started brushing Jayde's hair out as I got flowers to put in hair, bobby pins, hair ties and hair bands out.

"You really need to brush your hair better, look at how many split ends you have!!!!" I told Jayde.

"Yes well, I want my hair to grow long!" She flipped her hair over one shoulder.

"Oi, don't move!"

Just as Jayde was about to reply the trainer walked in, she was a short woman with her hair done up in a beautiful knot.

"Hello dears! How was your holiday? Time to start getting those lazy fingers nimble again!" She was talking really fast. "Today you shall show me your skills!"

The class went on and by the end of the class Jayde's hair was in a simple, yet stylish french braid leading to a bun.

"Well done Jaylene! That's an A for your first assignment!" My teacher nodded approvingly.

I flushed with pleasure and grabbed my bag and books and left the room. As the last bell rang, doors were flung open and students poured in from every classroom.

"Hey, want to have a Starbucks study date tonight?" Jayde suggested.

"Oh yeah, we have homework don't we." I groaned.

I didn't tell you this, but we had three pieces of homework. One was from stretching class, where we had to make a workout routine and do it every week for the rest of the year. Another was for dance class, where we had to research a famous dancer we looked up to. The last was for hairstyling class, where we 1. had to buy a sketchbook from the stationary shop and 2. sketch out the hairstyle we did for the first lesson.

"We also need to buy supplies too." I reminded Jayde.

"Let's text Holly and tell her we plan to meet up at Starbucks to have a study date, but first we need to get some supplies." Jayde suggested.

I nodded and pulled out my phone.

Jaylene: Hey!

Holly: Heeyeyyeyeyeyeyeey! What's up?

Jaylene: We want to hang out at Starbucks for a study date, wanna join? Or do you want to go                         home and study there with Crescent and Dapple?

Holly: Sure! Meet you there in half an hour!

Jaylene: Yeah we need to buy supplies! TTYL!

Holly: Bai!

"She's down with it." I informed Jayde.

"Great! Let's go get supplies from the nearby stationary shop!" She pulled me out of the school and we hurried to the shop.
