LOST

"This fight.. never ends, huh.."

5 hours has passed. 5 hours since we lost and has to retreat back to the walls. Almost everyone was knocked out after what the Colossal and Armour pulled.

There weren't any back up as Y/n had to send the remaining others to report back to HQ. The only person left in charge was none other than herself. Staring blankly at the scene before her, the sudden lost washed over as long as she stood idly by.

This was one of those moments again, where she can't do a single thing but stay.

The aching pain lingers on her body after the incident. After just waking up from a coma and then engage into a battle afterwards. Is not very recommendable. She surely would have hear an earful amount of scolding from her parents and Captain Levi.

Captain..

I wonder how his doing..?

Y/n wishes she stayed back. But again, responsibilities comes first than herself. That was what she was taught by Erwin. Sighing her gaze stared forward, to the trail where those traitors gone to.

Yet my own responsibility, I cannot fulfill to succeed in the end.

I could have stayed back. Take a rest even for a few hours.. Maybe.

Just maybe I could have prevented all this from happening.

But.. what good thing will she even contribute after so?

"Captain.." Her gaze lazily look over to see Armin and Mikasa. Y/n would have ignored them as she was in no situation to even bother listening or talking.

But what caught her attention was those looks in their eyes. Those sudden determination that left her surprise, for people who failed to protect their friend. For someone who has betrayed..

"This maybe a selfish request.. But please, help us rescue Eren" Armin said with pure confidence, making Y/n raise her brow at him. "You have protected Eren, in ways I can't say my gratitude. So I'll ask one selfish request and ask for your Help--"

"Eren is an important asset to the corps. That's why I always have his back even if it cost my life." Y/n cuts him off, her gaze drifted away from them. "No matter how you say how great I am, just like everyone I'm just doing my job. For the future generation, to be free from this cage.."

Sighing, Y/n stood up from the edge of the walls. "I won't fulfill your request, as I myself, is in no longer shape of fighting." She stated and gently pass the food in her grasp to Armin.

"But I can promise you, we'll get him back. So rest for now, and worry about it later." She dismissed as she walks passed the two of them and head over to where Hanji laid unconcious.

"Captain.." Armin muttered his gaze staring at her back. I've never seen you look so defeated before..

"Hey.. Isn't that..! Commander Erwin and the Military Police!"

Y/n's gaze turned to where the approaching noise was coming from. Her gaze quickly landing to Erwin and the supporting teams coming. She stood up from her seat after being treated by a cadet. As she slowly approached them, Erwin's eyes looks her up and down immediately.

"You should have stayed behind." Was his first statement as Y/n only stared at him blankly. "I will fight even with my limbs torn off."

"You never give up, do you. Y/n?" Erwin sighed as he then turned his gaze around to check the situation. "Is the situation here the same?" He asks as
Y/n nodded.

"Good." He muttered before turning his gaze to the other cadets. "Deploy the lifts!" He barked out as they obliged. Y/n hummed when she felt someone grabbed her boots as she saw Hanji who crawled on the ground. She looks badly injured yet still clutch onto Y/n's feet in desperation.

"Hanji-san..!" Moblit gaped quickly running to her aid.

"Moblit.. give me the map." She ordered her voice a little hoarse.

Y/n turned her gaze to Moblit and nod at him to do so. Moblit grabbed a map and immediately passed it to Hanji. Everyone immediately gathering around to listen.

"It might be a long shot, but there's a giant forest here." She pointed down to the map. "We should head straight for it. It's not like they have a way to hide the Armored Titan's footsteps, but I think that's where they're headed." She explained, locking her gaze to Erwin.

"Why is that?" Ask Erwin.

"Its a gamble, but even if they have the strength to change into Titans, the other Titans outside the wall might still be a threat." She pointed out as Y/n hummed. Remembering how different the Titans react no matter the circumstances.

"She's got a point. After all that fighting, there's no way they'll make it far ahead." Y/n sighed. "Let's say their destination is somewhere outside Wall Maria.. taking the distance into consideration and its current state. It's to be expected they needed to recover from their Stamina." Hanji nodded at her words.

"Which means they'll meed to rest somewhere, where Titans are unable to reach them. Atleast at nightfall, when Titans can't move."

As plans were now discussed, everyone was given tasks for the new missions. Erwin then turned his gaze to Y/n.

"I know.." she quickly said, not bothering to let him speak. "I'll stay behind."

Although the other's may not notice it, but the look on her eyes says other wise. But knowing Y/n, she would most likely learn from her mistakes.

Pushing herself too much for this missions. Will end up repeating history.

"You need to rest, we can't lose you once again, Y/n." He said turning around as he left towards the others. Y/n could only stare at his back blankly, she knows his right.

Going with them will just make her a dead weight with her current state now. Her back and head was aching, she couldn't even move much without being dizzy.

Y/n gathers enough strength, to slowly turn around and ignore the gaze of others. She knows their well aware on how displeased she is with being unable to go.

It wasn't because she wanted to be a Hero in every mission. Hell, she was seen essential because all they know her was Levi-wanna be. Always comes in second. She was just the replacement in waiting.

But the different with the two of them was. Was Y/n fights morally, Levi fights logically.

The comparison between them is vast.

Armin knows this. How the 2nd strongest, fight for everyone before herself. How she'll gamble her life in return of the freedom of others.

She hops onto one of the wagons, and they slowly stray afar from everyone. Silently wishing to see the same numbers again once they return.

As they drifted away, Y/n laid back, as slowly the ride lulled her to sleep.

Oi.." someone spoke, as she felt her cheeks being poke. She slapped it off, her eyes remained close "Oi, Lunatic."
Upon the mention of the nickname, her eyes gently flattered open as she hummed upon being face to face to none other than Levi.

"Is it just me or have you gone taller?" Was the first thing that left her mouth as Y/n wore a frown. Her eyes still sleepy as Levi sighed. "Apparently I'm a few taller than the wagon."

"The fact that you answered that question surprise me." She said, her eyes then suddenly dropped to his lips. As she froze realizing they were close.

Too close.

"After what happened, you two have the nerve to flirt in front of me." Hanji sighed as she was being lifted by the help of the cadets. "You two really can't keep your hands to yourselves." She grinned making the two look at her dumbfounded for a moment.

"And you have the nerve to make such a presumptuous word at that state." Y/n scorned.

"At some point I hope you broke your mouth too" Levi sighed leaning back. Hanji could only smirk at the two of them. "Oh shut up, and kiss already."

Y/n turned her gaze to Levi, just the same time as he does as well as they were almost inches away from doing so. Upon realizing their still close. Y/n jolt back immediately only to instantly regret it as she heard a crack.

"Captain!" Gasped a nearby cadet who happens to hear the crack.

Levi cleared his throat as he then approached her as she was immediately tend to. He dismissed the cadet and turned to her. "Come on, let's take you back to the clinic."

Y/n only nodded, for the first time losing her voice as she painfully went close to him. He then carefully lifted her up from her seat.

This wasn't the first time he does so, there were times they were close as there was even a time Y/n herself carried him in the same way.

But it was because there were mud. everyone and she had to carry him since he doesn't dare touch them with his boots. She remembered well on how he threatened her if she even drops him.

But now, why does it feel so different? Being close to him, makes her body react weirdly but in a way she undeniably wants it. He was warm, his cologne she always wore and steal comforts her.

He was there, as always..

"Y/n" upon the mention on her name, surprise her as she turned to him with wide eyes. Never expecting for him to call her by her name. It almost sound so, foreign..

"Captain..?" He didn't bother to look over to her as he spoke. His hold on her body tightened a little as she was pulled a little closer to his chest.

Hearing the uneasiness of his heart beat.

"Don't.. Don't leave me ever again.." he wore a look, a look she never expected that comes from him

Okay.. so it took me. More than awhile to publish. I apologise deeply for that, I finally got my account back.

Im sorry for making everyone wait.
For now, I will try updating as much as I can.

I cant promise anything atm, as ofcourse I have school and such.
