Nature~Muriel

You were on your way to Muriels hut while watching the trees sway and hearing the rushing current of the river. These sounds normally calm you down but this time they seem to put you on edge even more because today wasn't just any normal day, today was the day you planned on confessing to Muriel. You've had a crush on him for as long as you can remember and little did you know Muriel liked you too, he was just too shy to ever admit it. You passed a wolf and it's cubs on your way to his hut, making you smile and gain a bit more confidence.
Finally reaching your destination you falter when your about to knock on the door 'what if he doesn't feel the same or worse what if he doesn't want to be friends anymore!' While all these negative thoughts creep into your mind you don't even hear the door open. "*enter name here* are you okay?" Muriel states with confusion in his tone. Hearing him say this you jump a little "oh uh yes I'm fine uhm may I come in?" "Uh sure you don't even have to knock at this point." Muriel mumbles last part but you still heard it making your lips twitch up. After entering his hut you suddenly get nervous again and start to mess with the hem of your shirt. "*enter name here* are you positive your okay" Muriel says. You decide not to hold back any longer and you just blurt out "I LIKE YOU.... uh I mean....." You let your voice die off. It becomes quiet for a while the only thing that can be heard is the soft whistling of the wind until you've had enough and rush out the door with tears streaming down your face. "Stupid I knew he wouldn't feel the same, why did I say anything" you cry out into the cold afternoon sky. You run right past the wolf and her cubs startling them a little until you reach the edge of the river. You take your shoes and socks off and put your feet in the water. The beautiful sunset and the birds singing calming you down significantly. You sit there for a while until you've had enough, your about to get up but someone's hand on your shoulder stops you. Tensing up and slowly turning around your met with a guilt ridden Muriel and sweat dripping down his tall frame. "I've been looking for you for ages" he huffs out. "Look Muriel you didn't have to bother trying to find me I know you don't fee-" He doesn't even let you finish your sentence "I like you back..... I just froze up when you blurted that out because I never thought you would feel the same....I'm sorry." Your eyes soften a bit and you hop up to hug the giant "it's okay I probably would have frozen up too." He shuffles around a bit until he wraps his arms around you giving into the hug. He lets go and sits by the river you were recently sitting at. He pats the grass nearest to him. So you sit next to him and lean your head on his shoulder. You both sit there and listen to the melodic sounds of nature with small smiles on both your faces.
