Chapter 20

"Hey guys are you ready?!" Present Mic enthusiastically shouts. The crowd, booming with excitement.

"A lot's happened but its' now come to this! A serious battle! You can only depend on yourself! Even if you're not a hero you'll face lots of situations like that! You get it right?! Heart, skill, body, wisdom, and knowledge! Use all of that to rush up!"

Yuki was currently disinfecting his small cuts in the nurse's office. He hadn't had the chance before and while could have earlier when he came along with Aoyama, he needed to walk off the feeling after the second game.

"I'm surprised you decided to try this hard Yuki." Recovery Girl laughed.

Yuki let out a nervous laughter. "It wasn't my complete intention to make it this far to be honest, Chiyo- sensei."

"Well," she closed the lid of the small first aid kit, "You might as well do your best while you're out there. Those Pro Heros will be working beside you in the near future. And Healers aren't usually ones to be out on the field, so you'll have to be someone they can count on not being a burden."

Yuki throws the last cotton dosed alcohol into the trash. "Yeah, I know."

A painful groan emerged from a closed of bed.

"Is his stomach ache still going?" Yuki asked, slipping on his gym sweater.

"Unfortunately. He seemed to be getting better but it seemed to go back after he ate lunch."

"Maybe something he ate?"

"I should have given him something light to eat," Recovery girl nervously smiled.

Yuki sweat-dropped at her small mistake.

"I'll be going then--"

"Make sure you're careful Yuki-kun." she warned.

Yuki reached for the door before turning to face her again.

"Don't worry. I'll try not to break anything." his smile almost reassured her but she knew better than to let the worry go.

"Match number one-- Even though he's done well, what's with that face? From the hero course, it's Midoriya Izuku!" Mic's voice echoed through the stadium.

"Don't get lost," Yuki looked to the left. "Don't get lost..." he turned to the right.

"Let's go left." Yuki nodded before stopping, "Unless..."

"Bring on the injuries! Because we've got our very own Recovery Girl and her successor waiting on standby! Put your morals and ethics aside for a moment!"

Yuki slouched and wanted, very badly, to punch his English teacher for bringing it up with MIDORIYA, of all people, to use as a reminder during his match.

"But of course, anything life-threatening is crap!" Mic quickly added. Not that it would register in his green-headed friend.

Yuki somehow managed to find Class 1-A's sitting area. "Yo! Did i miss--"

"AH! I even went through the trouble of warning him, too!" Ojiro stood in frustration.

"Hey, hey, what's the matter? It's the important first match! Liven things up!"

Everyone leaned forward from their seats. Midoriya had only taken a couple step towards his opponent and now he stood frozen in place.

Was that what happened to me?

"He's got a blank look on his face and isn't moving a muscle! Is this Shinso's Quirk?! He didn't stand out at all, but could he actually be someone amazing?"

Yuki took the nearest seat to the bottom. He wasn't quite sure what the boys quirk was but he knew it had to be something verbal. As far as he knew.

"Hitoshi Sinso from general studies has gotten the better of Midoriya Izuku from the hero course! Who would've imagined this?! Will the bottom really overthrow the top?" Present Mic was all too hyped up from something Yuki had no idea how he could comment on.

"That's why I said the entrance exam wasn't rational." Aizawa-sensie's voice droned in.

"Huh? What?"

"Here's some basic data on the two of them." the homeroom teacher began. "Since it's individuals match from here on out I had someone compile it for me."

Oh...

"Shinso failed the practical exam for the hero course. Since he also applied for general studies, he probably knew that would happen. His quirk is very powerful, but the practical exam consisted of fighting faux villains. That gave an advantage to those with physical attack quirks. Shinso wouldn't have been able to tack up any points with his quirk."

The audience listened carefully. And Yuki quite agreed with his homeroom teacher. Had he not been recommended by Recovery Girl and Nezu personally placed him in 1-A he probably wouldn't have gotten in either.

Yuki watched with a frown as Shinso said something and Midoriya turned and began to walk to walk away from him.

"EH?! HE'S BEING SO OBEDIENT!" Mic proclaims.

"Deku, why?" Uraraka was now standing.

"If you go out of bounds, then you'll lose the match!" Iida informed as he waved his stiff arms frantically.

"How is he doing it?" Yuki whispered, not biting his lower lip in confusion.

Yuki watched as Midoriya neared the end of the arena. "I guess the first is a short--"

A gust of wind burst from his friend. Yuki continued to observe eye wide as he bent over to take a breath, only inches away from out of bounds.

"Th-This is--! Midoriya's stopped!" the crowd began to cheer once more.

"Midoriya-kun!" Yuki turned to see Iida with both his hands up in the air.

A relief look on Uraraka as well. "I'm so glad!"

Yuki was relieved, yes, but he also wanted him out of the games if he was completely honest.

The boy, Shinso, was looking confused and desperate to know what happened as he continued to shout at Midoriya. Yuki watched as his friend covered his mouth to avoid replying.

At this point, Shinso was desperate to get a response as the freckled boy ran towards him. Running into him and beginning to push him towards out of bounds, Shinso went in for a punch and managed to get out of his grasp. Midoriya was now the one being pushed but in his quick thinking he grabbed onto Shinso's arm and hoisted him over his shoulder, effectively landing the purple haired boy out of bound.

"Shinso is out of bounds! Midoriya advances to round two!" Midnight announces. The crowd then cheers.

"In the finals, the first person to advance to the second round is Midoriaya Izuku from Class A!" Mic shouts.

A heavy sigh of relief leaves Uraraka, "I was so nervous!"

"Turning the table at the last moment! As expected of Midoriya!" Iida congratulated him.

Yuki crossed his arms and leaned back in his seat, "As long as he didn't get hurt, I guess I can tell him good job... this time."

"He did that shoulder toss on you before, too, didn't he Bakugo?"

"Shut up, Dunce Face."

"Yahoo!" Present Mic appeared on the screens. "That was kind of a boring first match, but we should praise them both for a bravely fought match. Clap your hands!"

"Oh, Deku! Good work!" Uraraka waved.

Yuki turned to congratulate him but immediately stopped upon seeing two of Midoriya's fingers wrapped up.

"We saved a seat for you!" Iida pointed next to him.

Fortunately for Midoriya, Yuki was sitting next on the other end. Next to Uraraka.

"Thank you!"

Yuki didn't dare look at the boy. Midoriya was effectively on Yuki's silent treatment list and the poor boy didn't know it yet.

"Thanks for waiting! Next up is... these guys!"

The next match is Todoroki v. Sero

To keep his mind of wanting to strangle Midoriya, he began to list ways anyone of them could win. Todoroki seemed the most likely to win as Sero's quirk worked quiet better when there were things he could swing from.

Can his tape stick to Todoroki's Ice?

"He's good! He's good, but what's with the plainness he just can't get rid of?" Mic introduced, "From the hero course, it's Sero Hanta!"

Ouch.

"Versus-- Taking second, then first in the prelims! YOu're way too strong, kid! He wasn't recommended for admission for nothing! Also from the hero course, it's Todoroki Shoto!"

He could use a bit more training controlling his ice... which reminds me. Can his quirk create ANY type of ice? Ice cubes? Perhaps... or is that pushing it?

"And now, for the second match of the finals-- Ready... Start!"

Immediately Sero sent out tape that tightly wrapped around Todoroki, swinging him towards the side bounds.

"A surprise attack aimed to push his opponded out of bounds! Don't you think this was the best choice for this situation?! Seriously, get him, Sero!" Mic cheers.

Unlike the rest of his class, Yuki simply sat back and observed with a straight face.

Ice quickly formed from Todoroki's feet and a surge of ice formed, shaking the entire stadium and silencing them in the process.

"That was quick..." Yuki sweatdropped at the large glacier merely inches from his face.

"Don't you think that's a bit much?"

It was quiet enough to hear Sero down from the arena.

"Sero, can you move?" Midnight's voice trembled, no doubt from the cold.

"O-Of course not... OW..."

"Sero is immobilized! Todoroki advances to the second round!"

The crowd was silent until little by little they began to chant "Don't worry about it!"

After the ice was melted, Kaminari v. Shiozaki was up next.

Yuki immediately knew Kaminari would lose. Her hair was that similar to vines and with Kaminari's lightning, he wouldn't be doing much damage.

And thus, after Mic apologizing and Shiozaki...praying(?) The match started with Kaminari going all out, frying his brain in the process and him getting wrapped up in... her vine hair...yeah. Vine hair. Shiozaki winning the round.

"What's that? Didn't he say he'd settle this in a second? That's strange, he was defeated in a second, wasn't he? Class A is supposed to be better than Class B, so isn't that weird?" a blonde boy mocked, laughing. That is before he fell off to his side and an orange haired girl replaced him.

"Sorry about that!"

What was that just now?

With Iida gone, the seat between Midoriya and Uraraka was empty, giving Yuki almost a clear path to strangling the boy who was now muttering under his breath and taking notes on a notebook with burn marks.

"You just finished, but you're already thinking about countermeasures, huh?" Uraraka asked.

Do I look crazy when I do research as well...?

"Oh, right! I've been putting these together for everyone in Class A, too." this grabbed Yuki's attention, still not facing him but now listening.

"Now, it's time for the fourth match!"

Hatsume v. Iida...no. Yuki wouldn't call it that.

Hatsume advertises her gadgets to companies as she humiliates and uses Iida in the process... yes. That's better.

Yuki had to admit a few of her 'Babies' were quite interesting and she was really selling it as Iida continuously still tried to get her out of bounds.

She could have won against him but after finishing her advertisement session she stepped out of bounds on her own accord.

Yuki had watched a defeated Iida walk off the arena even if he did technically win.

"You did well regardless of how you won, Iida." Yuki gave him a thumbs up to which Iida smiled and thanked him for.

"We're gonna keep right on going with the fifth match!" Yuki stood at the end of the platform taking in deep breaths.

"Doing some crazy stunts during the Obstacle course AND Recovery Girls Successor! From the hero course, Satori Yuki!"

"I hope this actually works..." he told himself, unzipping his gym sweater but not taking it off, he would need as much mobility as possible.

"Versus-- Is something going to come out of those horns? Well? From the hero course, it's Ashido Mina!"

"My first match is a piece of cake!" she laughed pointing at Yuki who only smirked.

"Oh yeah? Just because I don't have a physical quick doesn't make it impossible to beat you." the intensity of his grey eyes caused Mina's confidence to falter.

"Now, why don't we get moving? Fifth match..."

Yuki took his stance, "Start!"

The both ran straight towards each other. "You can't do anything serious to harm me, Yuki-kun!" she shouted, drawing her hand back.

"I know!" His sight picked up on the acid coming from her shoes and the one gathering in her right hand.

"But I can still try!" with a grin he ducked, dodging the acid flung at him and tackled her.

I need to watch out for the acid. Not sure what'll happen if it touches me but it's acid... it certainly couldn't be pretty.

Quickly maneuvering his body so she was on her stomach he reached out for her arms to hold tightly behind her back, hands pressed against her but she managed to get him off balance and throw him off of her.

She's still pretty mobile physically.

Mina height only slightly passed his shoulder when they were side by side.

From the looks of her skating using her acid she had pretty good control over her movements.

Dance? Maybe...

Yuki quickly stood up and watched as Mina began to circle around him.

"Ashido is surrounding him with acid! This will limit just how much he can move and from the looks of it he'll be aiming for a close distance attack!" Mic shouts.

Yuki kept his eye on how far out of bounds was and where she was as well.

"Don't go giving out my secret Sensei." Yuki smirked as he saw Mina coming into the acid ring.

She went to throw another acid goop towards him to which he narrowly dodge, a hole now in his sweater.

Perfect.

He saw as she was closing in but instead of running towards he he began to run away.

"He's running away?! Why?!"

"There's no where for you to hide! Yuki-kun!" Mina smiled. It was clear to her she would be the winner.

"I know! I know!" Yuki replied, jumping over the acid ring.

This should be far enough.

"I just didn't think an acid ring was suited for dancing!"

"Huh?!"

"I like your style, Yuki-kun! But this--" she slid to a halt in front of him

"Is my win!" she shot her left arm up, aiming for an upper cut.

Unfortunately for her, Yuki managed to dodge.

He went to grab her right arm and what looked like a hug from behind turned into Yuki Pulling her along. Unraveling her to the opposite side.

She had no idea what just happened.

"SATORI JUST PULLED A DANCE MOVE ON HER!!" Present Mic cried out along with the crowd who was cheering.

"Sorry Mina, maybe next time." Yuki smiled apologetically.

Her fist was still in the air from her punch but her current position resembled a final dance position with Yuki holding into her wrist, both his arms out as well.

"Ashido Mina is out of bounds! Satori Yuki wins!"

"Huh?"

Yuki releases his grip on her and points down at Mina's feet.

She snaps her head down and realizes she has an entire foot out of bounds.

"NO!!"

"Satori Yuki move on to the next round!"
