Heroic End

Theo and Blaise come rushing into the great hall where we are standing as the death eaters break the barrier that is protecting us from them right now and they're panicking.

"Do you see that? Do you see what they're doing?" Theo begins as he paces around the three of us.

"Yes, we see what they're doing Theodore." Draco says. His voice seems harsh but we all know it's because he's worried about them getting in. He's worried about what'll happen to us when our parents enter the school. Will they come for us when they learn their only children are traitors?

Oh, they will definitely kill us.

Painfully and they'll make it a whole scene.

"Hi, Avery I need another favor and I'll totally owe you again after it but-"

"Ginny, breathe. What do you need?"

"Can some of you go with Harry, Ron and Hermione to the room of requirements because they aren't very good at paying attention to their surroundings."

"Yeah, don't we know it." I mumble. "Is be okay with us coming?"

"He'll have to be. I told him it's you or me and he doesn't want me involved in this because it's dangerous." Ginny complains. "So yes, he's okay with it."

"Well- okay." I say. "Daph? You want to come?"

"Sure, I need something to do." Daphne says as she forced herself to look away from the barrier being destroyed.

"I'll come too." Blaise says. "You three stay here and make sure Theo doesn't pass out from fear."

"If he does, shove him in a closet so he'll at least be safe." I add.

"Got it, thanks." Draco says. "Tell Potter that if anything happens to you, he's a dead man."

"Awh, you're so protective sweetheart." Blaise replies sarcastically. Draco scrunches up his nose and shakes his head no. Theo turns around abruptly, looking completely offended.

"That is my thing! I flirt with Draco, not you."

"Okay, on that note... we're going to leave now." I say. Daphne grabs Blaise's arm and pulls him along with us.

"Everyone's in love with Draco for some reason and he's such a grump. I honestly don't see why you all like him." Daphne mumbles behind me.

Daphne doesn't understand how I'm in love with Draco yet she's with Blaise. I find that funny since they're basically the same person except Draco is more open about his grumpiness. Blaise hides it by making mean, sarcastic jokes.

We meet with Harry and his friends and then head to the room of requirements. Harry said hello and was pretty polite, and awkward, but his friends just nodded their heads at us and started walking. Not sure what I did to them since I don't even know them but okay.

"Oh look who we have here- what are you two three doing here?" Crabbe asks us when he sees us with Potter and his friends.

"Did you catch Potter?" Goyle asks us.

"No, we didn't catch him." Blaise says to them. Neither of them understand what he's trying to say and I'm not surprised at all.

"What are you doing then?" Goyle asks us.

"We're going to go inside the room, come find us when you're done this conversation." Hermione says as she pushes Ron and Harry towards the door that formed.

"Alright." I say.

"How stupid are you two? You know he'll just kill you the moment you become useless." Blaise says, apparently he's resorted to trying to talk some sense into them... I don't think that's going to work.

"Which for you two, won't be long." Daphne adds and Blaise and I both laugh.

That was... unexpected. Not wrong though.

"We don't really have time to stand here and argue with them." I interupt because I get inpatient. Plus, I heard people screaming so I'm assuming the death eaters got in the barrier and I would like to get back to Draco sooner rather than later.

"Right, you guys can do whatever you want. If you want to stay on that side of the war, do it. I don't care." Blaise says as he pushes past them and motions for Daph and I to come.

"You're going to get yourselves killed." Crabbe calls out to us.

"Or you are." Blaise responds before we disappear behind the door and into the room.

When we got into the room and finally found the group, Harry was halfway up a tall pile of junk and Hermione and Ron were searching other piles. Blaise, Daphne and I look at each other for a moment in confusion. What are they doing?

"What are we doing...?" Daphne asks them after a long moment of us just standing there and watching them do... this.

"We're looking-"

"Harry!" Ron interrupts him and shakes his head no. He doesn't trust us and he doesn't want us to know what they're doing.

Then why are we even here?

"You're looking for the next horcrux, we already know that." I mumble angrily. The three of them freeze what they're doing and look at me with horror.

"What?"

"How did you know that?"

"Oh, was I not supposed to know? The dark lord knows because when you destroy them, he can feel that part of him dying. He feels weaker." I roll my eyes at how clueless they can be. Of course the dark lord knows they're hunting horcruxes. They didn't even think about what if he can feel them destroying them? I mean, how stupid are they?

"Right, of course you know. You're a death eater." Ron spits back at us.

"Watch it." Blaise says as he protectively steps forward. Ron steps forward too and gets way too close. He's trying to start something right now. I bet he'd love that. A reason for them to not trust us or for Harry to ask us to leave. I don't know what his problem is..

"Ron-" Harry began but Ron ignores him as he reaches for his wand. Blaise reaches for his after he realizes what Ron's doing. Daphne and I look at each other, both of us unsure what to do and beginning to panic.

"Blaise, how about we just look around the room. We can help you guys find it." I suggest as Daphne pulls Blaise back and tries to calm him down. Hermione tries to do the same with Ron but he doesn't want to listen to her. He shrugs her off aggressively.

"Ron, they're here to help us." Harry says to his friend. "We're looking for the Ravenclaw diadin. It's like a small tiara."

"Alright, we'll go look over there." I say to Harry as I grab Blaise's arm and the three of us walk to the other side of the room.

"That bloody git." Blaise mumbles. "I want to hurt him so badly."

"Don't we all." Daphne agrees.

"Not only the way he talks to you but the way he just shrugs off Granger. He's a git." Blaise continue to rant. "So fucking rude."

"Just look for the bloody tiara so we can get back." I say.

I can't help but worry about Draco, Theo and Astoria. If they're out there and our parents find them and figure out what we did... I don't know what will happen. I don't think Astoria's parents are here or death eaters, but if my parents or Lucius find out that they're here and not on their side, it won't end well.

I can barely breathe being here and not knowing what's going on out there. Looking for this stupid tiara seemed like a good idea at the time. We could help out and maybe they would start seeing us as allies instead of enemies. I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon though. Not if they all act like Ron did.

"Guys, we found it." Hermione calls out and I let out a shaky breathe.

"Okay good, now we can go." I mumble. No one heard me but I don't really care. I wasn't talking to anyone. I just want to get out of here.

"Uh- thanks for your help." Harry says to us when we turn the corner.

"No problem, we have to go find our friends." I say to him.

"We're leaving too." Harry says.

The six of us awkwardly head towards the door. The moment we open it, we see Fred and Percy there, fighting with some death eater.

Percy said something that caught Fred's attention and he turns to his brother. The moment he does, a spell comes rushing towards him. It happens so fast that none of us know what to do. Then, a moment later, Astoria jumps in front of Fred and the curse hits her. She falls back and lands on Fred.

Daphne's scream is deafening and heart breaking as she watches her sister fall to the floor. Blaise tries to hold her back while Percy fights off the death eater that sent the curse but he cant. She rushes towards her sister and I run after her, followed by Blaise and Harry. Ron and Hermione are frozen.

I instantly jump in and help Percy, followed by Harry while Blaise and Daphne check on Astoria.

"Tori.. please Astoria." I hear Daphne behind me. I can barely breathe. My chest aches for Daphne and the cries she's letting out are breaking my heart.

It's unbearable.

"I-it's okay Daph." I hear Astoria say. Harry sends a stuplify at the death eater and motions for me to check on my friends while he watches out for more death eaters. I instantly rush back to them. The moment I turn around, I see Daphne sitting beside Astoria, holding her hand while Blaise is holding Daphne. I'm pretty sure if he lets go of her, she falls. Fred is on the other side of Astoria and he's trying differnt spells to save her.

"It's ok-okay Daphne. I-I'm okay. I don't feel a-any pain." Astoria says. "I love you. I love you all. Someone has t-to tell the o-others too."

"Don't worry, you'll be okay Tori. You have to be." Daphne continues to cry. "I still need you."

"Tell George too-"

"Astoria." Draco's voice. Oh no. I turn to see Theo, Pansy and Draco standing behind me.

"It's okay." Astoria tells him. "I'm o-okay. No pain."

Pansy rushes immediately to her side and her cries are as painful as Daphne's are. I can barely hold myself up.

"Tori, please don't leave me." Daphne begs her. "Aren't the spells working?"

"Daph, it's okay. Hey, I love you but you'll be okay. You have all of these people to look after you." Astoria says to her sister before turning to Pansy.

"My beautiful best friend. T-tell him how you feel Pans. You'll regret it if you don't." Astoria says to her, then she turns to me and Draco.

"Look after each other." She says to us. "Draco, she's good for you. Don't let h-her go."

Then she turns to Theo. "Look after her, okay?" is all she says and Pansy cries louder. Astoria turns to Fred.

"You'll t-tell Georgie, right?" Astoria asks. "Tell him I- I loved him."

"I'll tell him."

"Good." Astoria mumbles before going still. I turn and bury my head in Draco's chest. He holds onto my tightly. Partly to hold me up but also I think he needed some steadying too.

Pansy and Daphne's cries are loud and horrible to listen to, making the entire thing even more hard to deal with. Theo rushes over to Pansy and helps her off of the ground as Blaise tries to pull Daphne away.

"Daph, come on. We can't stay here." Blaise says as he tries to calm her down. He's not wrong. We can't stay here. We're out in the open.

"Take your time, we will make sure no one gets to you." Harry says to us and he tells his friends to help him out. They hesitantly come closer, Percy also stands up to help them.

"Thanks." Draco mumbles. I know it's not easy for him to say that to him but it's a really nice thing he's doing for us.

I go over to Daphne and try to help Blaise calm her down. I rub her arm gently and let her cry it out. We have a few moments anyway and she needs to let some of it out.

"I'm so sorry Daph, and we will give her a proper funeral. I promise you, okay? But we need to get out of the open space. Can you stand up for me?" I ask her. After a moment of no response, she nods her head and Blaise helps her stand up. Draco and Theo are helping Pansy up.

"I'll move her out of the middle of the hallway when you guys leave." I hear Fred whisper to Draco.

Daphne and Pansy calm down and stop crying after a few more moments and we start moving again. Percy and Fred stayed behind and Harry and his friends went their separate ways. They have more to do than us anyway.

"Ah, look who it is Lucius." A familiar voice says and we all whip around fast to see my father, Draco's father and Theo's father standing there.

"It's our traitorous children." Lucius says, looking at us with disappointment.
