Listen to EXO's Sing For You or That's Okay by D.O. for the full experience :')

"So now what?" Jeno asked Chenle who was sat beside him on the waiting room couch. It had been two days since they had gone to the hospital the first time and they were back again for Jeno to retake the test just as the doctor had requested. Chenle held Jeno's hand softly as they waited for the final results to come in. Jeno watched the kids playing with some of the toys in the waiting room and smiled fondly.

"Now we wait Jen.." Chenle answered after a moment. Jeno nodded and continued to watch the kids play. They were all getting along well, sharing the toys and giggling happily. Jeno bounced his foot and held Chenle's hand tighter as he watched and when Chenle looked over at him, he knew why.

Jeno wanted to go play with them.

"Jeno, we can go out for ice cream after this, and then we can go home and play with your dinosaurs. How does that sound?" Chenle asked softly, not wanting to earn weird looks if anyone else heard. Jeno nodded sharply and looked away from the kids.

After about 45 minutes of waiting, a doctor entered the room.

"Lee Jeno?" Both Jeno and Chenle stood up, Jeno excitedly pulling Chenle with him to the doctor who was holding an envelope.

"So?" Jeno asked expectantly, his voice small. The doctor smiled.

"Congratulations."

"Jeno, come on. At least eat something if you don't wanna play." Chenle begged with Jeno. The older had been on the couch rereading the contents of the envelope since they got home two hours ago.

Chenle sat down beside him with a sigh and rubbed the boy's back. He had been hunched over rereading that paper forever and it made Chenle realize how crazy this all must be to Jeno. He hadn't been thinking of it the way Jeno was seeing it, he had been thinking of it as just another kid to spoil. But this was obviously going to be way more to Jeno.

This was going to be his child. His son or daughter who was going to grow up with them and be a new part of their world.

"Jeno, look at me. I wanna tell you something and I want you to hear me out." Jeno shook his head at Chenle's words. The younger sighed. "Alright then at least listen to me. This child is going to be so lucky. They're going to have the best fathers, the best uncles, they're going to be the cutest most precious thing, and we're all going to be by your side throughout all of it, okay?" Chenle stopped and sighed, not knowing if Jeno even heard him.

Until he heard the older sniffle.

Jeno looked up, tears streaming down his face at Chenle.

"I-I want Jaemin."

"Alright, we'll have that right out to yah," Jaemin said with a smile as he handed the young girl her change and receipt. She bowed and walked to sit down at one of the tables while Jaemin went to his co-worker to tell him the order.

"One blueberry cake doughnut and one small caramel frappe." He called, walking up beside one of the other workers for his shift.

"You got it Jaem." Jaemin smiled.

"Chanyeol, with your speed and Sehun's accuracy, this order will be done in no time." Jaemin turned as Ten walked in with a smile. The two other boys nodded, both smiling happily before they got to work on the order. "Jaemin, I got a call from a Zhong Chenle. He requested that I let you go home early on account of your boyfriend needing you." Ten informed Jaemin. "Don't worry, I'll cover your shift for you. You go on and take care of Jeno." Jaemin nodded.

"I'm sorry hyung. I'll work some extra hours on Saturday."

"Ah, there's no need for that. We have plenty of workers right now. Just go on and take care of your boyfriend." Jaemin sighed, relief washing over him.

"Thank you so much hyung. This means a lot."

Jaemin quickly rushed to the backroom, taking off his apron and grabbing his things. He rushed out of the cafe and down the street, hopping in his car and beginning the short drive home.

On the way, he began to worry about what could be wrong. Had Jeno gotten sicker? The thought made his footstep down on the pedal harder.

He rushed up the three flights of stairs, quickly unlocking the door and walking briskly into the apartment.

The sight he was met with broke his heart.

Jeno was on the couch with his legs to his chest, face buried in his knees, while Chenle tried to comfort him. He could hear soft cries and whimpers coming from Jeno and it hurt him to see his boyfriend like this.

"Jeno.." He dropped his things on the ground as Jeno looked up, eyes red from crying. He stood up and the two went towards each other, Jeno hugging Jaemin tightly while he cried into his shirt. "Jen.. Baby please, what's wrong." Jeno just shook his head and cried harder, sobbing out incoherent words. Jaemin saw Chenle pick up a slip of paper from where it sat on the couch and carefully look it over before folding it in half and putting it into an envelope that also sat on the couch.

"I-I'm sorry.." Jeno cried loudly, his words being muffled slightly by Jaemin's shirt. "I'm sorry I've kept something from you f-for so long and I should've told you but I-I was scared you would w-wanna leave me and I didn't w-want you to leave me.. Please don't leave me..." Jaemin furrowed his brows and hugged Jeno tightly.

"Jen, I'm not gonna leave you, baby. I promise I won't leave you." Jaemin swore, rubbing the older's back gently. Jeno sniffled, still crying a bit as he pulled away, not meeting Jaemin's eyes. The younger reached up and ran a thumb across Jeno's cheek to wipe some of the tears away. "Jeno you look so tired. How about you go take a nap and then maybe we can talk about it when you wake up hm?" Jeno nodded as Jaemin began to slowly guide him to their room, carefully getting Jeno into their bed and under the covers. Bongsik followed, promptly jumping up and laying by the older's feet. "Are you hungry? I could go get you something." Jeno shook his head and closed his eyes as he felt the real fatigue setting in.

"Jaemin.." He whispered softly, holding the younger's hand. Jaemin hummed.

"What is it?" Jeno smiled wearily, opening his watery eyes and meeting Jaemin's gaze for a moment.

"You're going to do great... You're gonna be so good....."

Jaemin furrowed his brows in confusion as Jeno slowly began to drift off. What did he mean?

But right before Jeno drifted off completely, he muttered one more thing.

"You are going to be a great father..."

Jaemin smiled warmly at the words. Thinking about him and Jeno someday starting a family made him happy. He couldn't wait until they had a little kid running around the house. He wanted to take them to school in the morning and help them with homework after school. He wanted to watch their child grow up and discover new things about the world, about their personality, about their sexuality. He wanted the whole world to see them all walking down the street, hand in hand, and be jealous of the beautiful family they had.

He couldn't wait until Jeno told him he was ready.

So no, he didn't take the hint.

He didn't understand what Jeno just told him.

That he really was going to be a dad.

And that he was going to be the best dad ever.

"Congratulations." Jaemin turned to look at Chenle after he had to shut the door behind him and was back in the hallway.

"What do you mean?" Chenle looked up from the ground with a small smile and creased the envelope in his hand despite it already being closed.

"You'll see." He handed the envelope to Jaemin. "I'd recommend you don't open that unless Jeno tells you to." Jaemin nodded as he took the envelope. Chenle turned back around and picked up his wallet and car keys from the coffee table before walking to the door with a smile. "Take good care of him Jaemin. He's gonna need it now more than ever." He turned the nob and began to walk out. "Now, I have a date. Take care hyung!" Chenle called, using the formality for the first time. Jaemin watched him leave with furrowed brows.

Congratulations? For what?

Yes, Jaemin is that dense.

He spent a moment after that just thinking about what had happened before deciding to make dinner. He chose to make chili since that used to always make him happy when he wasn't feeling well. Besides, it was something he could leave in the crockpot and then go to Jeno afterward.

And he did just that.

He got the chili cooking, which took about 30 minutes and grabbed a glass of water for Jeno before going into the room and crawling into bed beside him. He put the water on the bedside table and felt the older boys forehead. No fever. He laid down fully and wrapped his arms carefully around Jeno's waist, holding the older close before nuzzling into the back of the boys neck. He had missed Jeno a lot since he had started working, missing their daily cuddle sessions or times when they would sit together in his room, on the floor with Jeno in his lap, happily playing with his stuffed animals, or the days they would spend just lying around watching movies and giggling at the cheesy lines, or the days they would go to the park together. He missed it. A lot.

He missed the days before his parents came back.

But part of him also knew that they wouldn't be who they were if they had stayed. If they had stayed then him and Jeno may have never gotten to have that night together.

Jeno let out a small groan and turned over in his sleep, facing Jaemin who smiled. This boy before him was the one he loved and the one that loved him. Jeno smiled in his sleep and curled up a bit, cuddling into the younger boys side.

He really couldn't wait for Jeno to be ready. Heck he wanted to marry this boy right now. He wanted to kiss him and call him his forever. He wanted to give their child his last name, he wanted to be sure Jeno knew he would never leave. Because he didn't ever want to leave. He didn't want to live without Jeno. He physically couldn't imagine his life without Jeno.

But that was fine.

He liked it that way.

He liked how Jeno was in his life everywhere he looked. It made him feel more secure to see someone staying in his life for so long. In a world where we move on so fast and find others so quickly, in a place where we don't have the time to cry and we don't have the time to make relationships that last and matter, it felt good to have someone filling up every inch of his otherwise lonely life. He didnt like the fact that Jeno thought he would leave. Because no matter what would happen he loved Jeno like no tommorow and he would never stop. This didn't just feel like some giddy teenage love that could end just by the snap of a finger, rather they would take the noise from the harsh snap that could end them and formulate it into the most beautiful sound. They could take any number of hits to their hearts and still find a way to turn those bullets into shining metal sculptures. They saw the beauty in the destruction of a supernova, they saw the endless and boundless reaches of the human minds creativity, they saw how amazing and powerful it could be rather then how dangerously terrifying it could become.

They saw what could hit them, they had seen what did, but they had learned from all of it something new and used that knowledge to strengthen their unbreakable bond.

This wasn't just teenage love, this wasn't just two boys being desperate, this was two boys who had learned that they could turn around to see another angle while their partner watched their back. They were boys who had learned the importance of trust and belonging, they were matured beyond their age.

Even Jeno.

Despite his little space, he still overcame everything just like Jaemin, the only difference was he needed just a little extra help to do so. Just that small extra push from Jaemin to get him through. But he had gotten relatively better at handling things on his own.

Jaemin had been lost in thought for the past 25 minutes that he didn't even notice Jeno begining to move in his hold. He finally noticed when Jeno slowly opened his dark eyes and looked at him intently. He smiled softly at Jeno who flashed an eye smile back before hugging him tightly. Jaemin chuckled.

"Did you have a good nap? You were out for a solid hour." Jaemin said softly, his voice being an octave lower. Jeno nodded and cuddled into Jaemin's chest. Jaemin rubbed the olders back and thought for a moment before opening his mouth again.

"What did Chenle mean when he said congratulations?" He asked. Jeno looked up with his puppy eyes.

"You don't remember what I..." He pouted a bit before nodding slowly, understanding the situation. He must've thought he meant that Jaemin was going to make a good dad if they ever had a child. He must've been that dense that he didnt connect the dots when Jeno said that. Jeno giggled a bit. Jaemin was amazing and all, but sometimes he could be a bit slow.

But aren't we all.

Jeno sat up and crawled over Jaemin, sliding off the bed and smiling back at the younger.

"Nana, I wanna show you something." Jaemin watched Jeno walk out of the room for a moment before following, his eyebrows knit together in confusion.

Jaemin watched as the older looked around for a moment before going to the living room. He picked up the new stuffed pikachu doll he had left on the couch and turned to Jaemin.

"Tell me what this is." Jaemin looked at the toy.

"Um.. A doll." Jeno nodded.

"What is the target audience for this doll." Jaemin frowned.

"Sweetheart, that doesn't matter. If you enjoy it then it's fine." Jeno sighed with a smile. Jaemin was too sweet sometimes.

"Jaem, answer the question." He said softly.

"Okay. Normally kids or teens, but-" Jeno heald up his finger to silence Jaemin and laughed a bit shaking his head. He looked around the apartment again. He stopped when his eyes landed on the disc case for Curious George.

They had a marathon and watched the first 2 seasons before Jaemin started his job. Do not judge, Curious George is god teir.

He walked over and picked up the disc case, holding it up for Jaemin to see.

"What age range watches this show?" Jaemin furrowed his brows and answered slowly.

".. Kids...." He paused as he tried to figure out what Jeno was getting at. Meanwhile Jeno walked by to finally grab the envelope in his hands. Jaemin hadn't turned yet to look at him, still processing everything in his head.

The vomiting, the tiredness, the sudden attention being brought to objects that were commonly bought for children..

Could Jeno be...

He turned around with wide eyes to see Jeno smiling nervously. He took a couple steps forward and heald out the envelope. Jaemin took it, still looking at Jeno with a shocked expression. Jeno fiddled with his fingers.

"Just open it.." Jaemin nodded slowly before begining to open the envelope. He slowly took out the paper, glancing at Jeno one more time before reading it.

Tears came to his eyes, his chest swelling with something like excitement as he looked back up at Jeno. The olders face fell when he saw Jaemin's watery eyes.

"J-Jeno... You're...." Jaemin smiled, letting out a small laugh as the hot tears fell from his eyes. He took Jeno into a hug, showing no signs of letting go as he cried a bit into the crook of Jeno's neck. The older rubbed his back, slight relief coming to him.

"Are you.. Angry?" Jeno asked softly. Jaemin pulled away, arms still wrapped around Jeno's waist.

"Angry? Why would I be angry at you baby?" He asked as he reached up, caressing Jeno's face gently. "I'm so happy. So so happy Jeno." He assured before hugging the older boy again. This time Jeno hugged back tighter, relaxing fully as he knew that Jaemin wasn't upset. Jaemin suddenly pulled away with a cheerful gasp.

"That reminds me Jeno. There's something I've been meaning to tell you about Renjun and Hyuck." The older tilted his head.

"What is it?"

"What's happening on June 5th?" Haechan and Renjun exchanged a glance before Haechan gave a nod.

"Well, Jaemin, me and Renjun were given a very lucky and amazing opportunity, and as anyone like is would, we took it.." Haechan said before fiddling with his fingers.

"Well? Get on with it." Jaemin said encouragingly.

"Jaemin, me and Renjun are....." Renjun took a step towards his boyfriend, reassuringly taking the youngers hand with a nod before they both looked back at Jaemin.

"We're going to adopt a son." Jaemin's blank face suddenly lit up at the thought of the two boys in front of him adopting a child.

"Really? That's great! Do you guys know his name yet? How old will he be?" Haechan laughed at the abundance of sudden questions.

"His name will be Lee Minjun, and when we adopt him he'll only be two. He's the cutest little cinnamon roll I swear to god." Haechan said excitedly, causing Renjun to laugh.

"No Haechan, you got it wrong, you're the cutest cinnamon roll." Haechan blushed at the words while Renjun and Jaemin just laughed at him.

Jaemin stopped laughing and took a moment to admire the couple before him. They would make good parents for sure. They had managed to stay together despite everything that happened between them, so surely they could handle it...

"So, June fifth.." Jeno muttered to himself as he sat at the table, Jaemin serving up bowls of the chili for them since it was ready. Jaemin nodded. The older looked at his phone, turning it on to check the date.

"Jaem."

"Hmm?"

"Its June seventh."

The two looked at eachother with wide eyes before they burst out laughing at themselves, honestly at Jaemin, for being so forgetful. They eventually calmed down, their loud laughs turing into soft giggles as Jaemin walked over, setting two bowls of Chili on the table, one at each of their spots. He sat at his spot carefully and looked at Jeno.

"Be careful, it's hot." Jeno nodded, blowing on a spoonful of food before eating it gratefully. "We can send Renhyuck a congratulatory message after dinner." He said passively as he ate a spoonful of his food. Jeno nodded before sighing and dropping his spoon, leaning back in his chair. Jaemin looked up worriedly.

"What is it Jen?" The older looked at him with a pout.

"Do you understand how hard it was to just hold pikachu like that? I wanted so bad to just stop and cuddle with it on the couch." He complained with a whine. Jaemin smiled gently and continued to eat as the older bantered on. "I don't think you understand how soft that doll is. Its so squishy and nice to cuddle with.. Hugging it makes alone time more comfortable." He said before picking up his spoon again and eating some more food.

"I'm sorry about having to leave you all the time Nono. Maybe now that I have a good reason I can get a couple more days off. Ten is very nice about it, maybe I could get Wednesday's off or something." Jeno nodded with a thoughtful smile.

"That would be nice.. I'm missing you more and more these days." He said softly, being a bit embarrassed by his own words.

They finished dinner quickly, Jeno doing most of the dishes while Jaemin helped with some of it. By the end, Jeno was washing one of the knives, carefully washing the blade while Jaemin hugged him from behind, watching him over his shoulder.

"Be careful darling. Don't cut yourself.." Jeno hummed at Jaemin's words as he rinsed the utensil and carefully set it on the drying rack. He grabbed Jaemin's hands that were resting on his stomach and heald them for a moment with a content smile. He leaned back into Jaemin's hold a bit, swaying gently back and forth as he hummed a song. He was so happy. Everything was finally going to be perfect for them. They were finally going to be a happy family just as Jeno had hoped. They were going to be amazing parents for their beautiful child and it was going to be truly amazing.

Jaemin furrowed his brows as he listened to what Jeno was humming.

"That song sounds beautiful.. What is it?" Jeno smiled to himself.

"Something that someone dear to me made... That's all....." It didn't take Jaemin long to figure out who Jeno must've meant since the older was never one to make new connections easily. Jaemin hummed his understanding.

"Well, to you wanna go to bed? We don't have to sleep but, we could cuddle." Jaemin suggested. Jeno nodded.

"That would be nice Jaeminie.." He said softly. Jaemin released his hold around the olders waist and took his hand, gently leading Jeno, who was falling asleep on his feet, to their room.

That night they slept contently, neither bothered by worrisome or nervous thoughts.

They were finally able to be happy.

Just like they always wanted.

And it was beautiful.

"I'm almost out.."

"Okay sir. What should I do?"

"Find the boy. I still need him for my.... Research."

"I will only do this if you promise not to hurt him Lee."

"I make no promises. But you can be assured that I will pay well if the job is done right."

"And if it isn't?"

"You can kiss your happy family goodbye. And your pregnant husband will be the first to go."
