To say that Jeno was excited was a huge understatement.

It was one of Jeno's favorite kinds of dates, hopping into a car and driving into nowhere until you found somewhere that little of humanity had ever seen.

Jaemin also loved car dates. The excitement and the adventure aspect of all of it made it all the more exciting. But he had to admit it was strange to be in the driver's seat instead of the passenger seat. But he wasn't complaining. It gave him control over where they went.

They had been out driving for a while and the sun had begun to set but the night was far from over for the two.

"Jaeminie, where are we?" Jeno asked as Jaemin pulled into a small abandon parking lot in the middle of some field. It was almost a clearing of sorts, a large open field, framed with trees, the subletting around them making the entire setting much more beautiful as the golden hues of early spring shone down on the grassy meadow, illuminating it all beautifully.

"I don't know Jeno.." Jaemin responded as he took the key out. "But I guess we're about to find out." He smiled and unbuckled his seatbelt, Jeno did the same and they got out of the car.

"Wow.." Jeno breathed as he looked out at the horizon, the sun sinking in the sky and the first stars made visible. "It's so pretty Nana." He said, turning back to the younger.

When Jeno turned and faced Jaemin, Jaemin had to agree. The view before him was pretty. Jeno's hair blowing in the slight breeze. His beautiful smile, eyes shining in admiration. The colors of the setting sun reflecting off his face in just the right way.

It was gorgeous.

Jeno turned back to the setting sun as Jaemin came up beside him and sat down. Jeno did the same, sitting himself on the ground before crawling into Jaemin's lap.

Few words were exchanged between them in that moment as they watched the day fade into a calm night. And when it did, that's when Jaemin found it most beautiful. The stars shining brightly in the sky with no light pollution to take the beauty away.

Jeno was in pure awe as he stared up at the sky, reaching up and tracing his finger among the stars to create kaleidoscope-like patterns among the galaxies. He smiled faintly as if recalling a distant memory.

Jaemin looked down at him with so much love and admiration as the older looked to the sky with wonder in his eyes, lightly raising his hand to trace delicate patterns with the sparkling lights in the night sky.

"Jeno..." Jeno turned his body around in Jaemin's lap and smiled as he cuddled into the olders neck for a second before pulling away.

"Yes?" He asked expectantly, resting his forehead against the youngers. Jaemin met the olders shining gaze with confidence.

"I love you so much." He said. Jeno smiled, small tears of both joy and fear forming in his eyes.

"I love you too Nana..... Please don't l-leave me... I don't wanna l-lose you t-to.." Jeno said, holding back the tears so he didn't annoy Jaemin with his petty reactions.

Be strong for him..

"Jeno, I promise you on every star in this sky that I will never leave you." He said reassuringly, his hold on Jeno's waist tightening as if he was scared to let him go. Jeno buried his face in Jaemin's neck and hugged him quietly, perfectly content with where he was.

That was all he had ever wanted to hear.

Jaemin was his now.

Right?
