CHAPTER XV: One more chance

Maybe it was the rain, or the thunder or most probably the sweet kiss Jeongyeon planted her lips, but Nayeon felt incredibly weak right now. It's as if she can't resist Jeongyeon. There's silence as both walked in the darkness to meet the others, the only things Nayeon could decipher in the darkness is Jeongyeon's warm hand holding hers and the loud beating of her heart.

There was a quiet ambience in the air as the two sat together on the tour bus. 'Snap out of it Im Nayeon', The woman tells herself, yet she couldn't move—couldn't resist the other woman. There's no words spoken, only the warmth of their shoulders touching and their breathing that almost stops by every small movement the other makes.

"Do you see that?" Tzuyu smiles whispering to Jessica sitting beside her, "Jeongyeon-unnie and Nayeon-unnie are going well."

"Shh, it's just because Jeongyeon found her," Tiffany says, "She's just.. well, confused."

"The heart wants what it wants, Fany-ah," Jessica smiles. "admit it, your ship is sinking."

Tiffany grumbled, "my ship isn't sinking."

"We'll see." Jessica grins.

"Stop fighting over them you both, "Taeyeon warns as she rubs Jessica's head who's sitting beside her.

Sana laughs, "would you prefer if they fight over you Taeyeon-unnie?"

Tiffany's face turned disgusted, "I love Taeyeon but it's completely platonic! Do you want me to be killed by the ice princess over there?!"

"hey I won't be that cruel,"Jessica said, "I could still let you choose if you want to die by a knife or by a gun."

Taeyeon rubbed her head, "just bring back the topic to your ships and leave us three out of this conversation,"

"Jinja," Tzuyu sighs, "I can't believe the unnies are fighting over this love triangle. Are they this concerned for Nayeon-unnie?"

"Well that's because their 20 000 won depends on it, "Hyoyeon chuckled on the opposite chair on the tour bus.

"Ya! It isn't like that," Jessica yells, as her cheeks turned red from embarrassment.

"we shouldn't bet on them, that's too mean." Mina says softly.

"You say that but your girlfriend over there already set her bet," Sooyoung laughs pointed on the little dwarf beside Mina.

Mina looked a bit shock as she sighs, glaring on Chaeyoung, " You did that?"

"I-I did.." chaeyoung swallowed, "It's just because you know, it's to show my support to my sister!"

"heol, what a good liar," Tzuyu teased her friend.

"I'm not lying, and I'm not gonna loose. So bet all you want on Momo, but my hyung gets what she wants." Chaeyoung smirked, "and I'm getting all your 20 000 won."

"Team Jeongyeon, in your face fany-ah!" Jessica smirked looking.

Tiffany who just rolled her eyes at them. While everyone is being noisy on the tour bus has lively conversation about the infamous love triangle and other topic. Momo is on the other side of the tour bus, with her head resting on the glass. Looking out as she remembered the scene that broke her heart, she softly sighs as she close her eyes—forcing herself to sleep so she wouldn't see the painful truth laid in front of her.

It's the second day to tour Jeju, The first destination today is Yakcheonsa Temple. It's already 8:00 am in the morning and everyone is hype. The air is cold in the morning still they all couldn't stop getting up early to check the views around the hotel.

"You look good today, Jeongyeon." Mina commented seeing Jeongyeon fixing herself in the room. She look good really.

Jeongyeon who woke up in the morning with a vibrant smile on her face. First, It's because of what happened last night and secondly, waking up and realizing she's able to see Nayeon today. She felt incredibly blessed as if all her suffering in the last 3 years had been a lie.

'I'm going to sit beside her again in the bus,' Jeongyeon thought.

But all her illusions are easily shattered as entered the tour bus. She almost cursed seeing Momo already sitting beside love of her life, Im Nayeon. Jeongyeon groaned as she saw Momo looking at her, smirking.

"That bastard." Jeongyeon whispers.

When they finally arrived at the destination, Jeongyeon went to talk to Nayeon hurriedly, not wanting momo to get ahead of her. She took her breath. She looks at Nayeon who look absolutely beautiful today with her white sunny dress. As Jeongyeon stared at her, she looks even more beautiful.

'Damn, am I having my first love or something?' Jeongyeon shook her head, 'Yoo jeongyeon, stop being a coward.'

Jeongyeon breath in and out, as she finally says, "Hey, Nabong."

Nayeon turned around and smiles. And yes, Jeongyeon it's as if Nayeon took her breath away again.

"what is it jeongyeon?"

Jeongyeon looked at her and smiled awkwardly, "d-do you want to tour the temple with me?"

"Well I'm thinking I might just--------- ,"

"Nayeon-ah!" nayeon was cut off when someone suddenly called out to them. Jeongyeon's blood starts to boil just upon seeing momo approaching them holding something.

"Try this," Momo smiled as she feed Nayeon a piece of tteokboki.

Jeongyeon clenched her fist as she saw what sweet gesture Momo is doing to Nayeon.

Momo grins as she wipes the sauce in Nayeon's mouth, "I know you still haven't got your breakfast. So when I saw someone selling it on the front entry, I immediately bought one."

Nayeon smiled, feeling warmed and happy that Momo realized immediately how she's feeling. No words needed to be said, "Thanks momori, you know me too well."

"You should get one yourself, it's tasty." Momo says smirking to Jeongyeon, who in turn, glared at her.

"one more nayeonnie?" Momo gestured to feed Nayeon another tteobokki but—

"what the heck?!" Momo's eyes widened as she saw... Jeongyeon eating the tteokbokki instead of Nayeon.

Jeongyeon chewed as she smirked to her rival, "you're right. They are tasty. "

"you should buy one for yourself, not eat this! It's not for you." Momo groaned and looked at her as if she's boring holes on the woman.

"too bad I'm already full." Jeongyeon sneers.

"Let's go eat first, I saw a cafe nearby, I know you haven't got your breakfast just yet." Momo smiles, "I know,this tteokbokki isn't enough for you."

Nayeon smiles, "Alright. "

Nayeon looked at Jeongyeon then smiles, "do you want to come?"

"I----"

"but you said you're already full, "Momo said mocking her.

"That's too bad," Nayeon says who's completely oblivious on what's happening between the two. "maybe you should come with the others and tour the temple already. Oh here comes Sana and the others,"

"Sana-chan!" Nayeon smiles, "Jeongyeon wants to tour the temple with you,"

"Why? Aren't you gonna tour the temple too?" Sana asked.

"We will but Momo and I are going to eat breakfast first."

Sana stopped then looked at Jeongyeon and Momo. Jeongyeon looked at Sana, and gave her a meaningful look.

Sana smiles, "let's go Jeongyeon?"

Then she was dragged in inside the temple.

                 "I'll just go with this 'Big breakfast meal'" Nayeon told the waitress as she pointed on the one on the menu, consisting of egg, ham, waffle and hotdog.

"Heol, you sure are hungry," Momo pointed out.

"It's the obvious truth, "Nayeon says, "I woke up late I couldn't even eat breakfast. But thanks for the coffee earlier when I woke up immediately. You made it with just the right blend."

Momo smiles, "Its because I know you're not a morning person. I don't want to be thrown by an alarm clock again."

Nayeon chuckles, "It's been 2 years and you still hold a grudge against me for throwing that alarm clock?!"

"How could I forget when I almost died?" Momo laughed.

Their light conversation continues on until their orders arrived. They both ate their orders and stood up to finally go back. They walked in the area and the air is cold, sunlight is just the right amount to walk.

As Nayeon walks as she felt the cold air but she suddenly felt warm arms pulling her into an embrace, she turned her head when she heard momo's whispering into her ear, "Nayeonnie~"

Nayeon chuckled as she held momo's hands which are wrapping her arms, "why the sudden hug?"

Momo smiles as her hug tightens, "I'm cold."

Nayeon laughs and pulled away. She rubs momo's head like a child, "aigoo, momori is cold. let's walk faster?"

Momo felt her cheeks getting red when Nayeon held her hand pulling her to walk. Skinship that Nayeon initiates always threw her off, making her heart race. Through all the times, she had been in love—this must be the hardest fall she ever had. And just looking at Nayeon makes her realizes that.

"I don't want to go back," Momo says as she sighs.

"why?" Nayeon asked turning her head towards her.

Momo stopped, then looked at Nayeon, 

"because I can't have you all to myself then."

Upon realizing on what Momo just said, Nayeon's whole face turned red. Sometimes, momo's constant flirting threw her off—but of course, for Nayeon, It's just Nayeon's flirting. A joke momo always says.

After Nayeon freezes up for a second, she laughed, "Shut up."

It was then Momo grabbed Nayeon's wrist once again, "I told you, I love you right?"

"Momo..."

"Just don't forget that," Momo says, "it hurts me to think that you didn't take me seriously or my confession, I love you."

"I know..You always always cared for me." It was then Nayeon looked down, " But I don't know if the love you claim to feel about me is real or it's just a kind of fleeting feeling. I don't know momo, sometimes, people can tell you they love you even though it's not even real. They can tell you they love you then change right aways. And honestly.. when you tell me you love me, it just feel so empty. It makes me feel so painful."

Momo couldn't say anything. But all the words Nayeon just pained her so much. How much Nayeon was hurt to make her like this? How much Nayeon was hurt to deny that someone could love her for real?

Or is it because she wasn't a serious talker or because she often flirt?Momo starts questioning what's wrong with her, or what's wrong with she had done—obviously thinking that she didn't make Nayeon felt her love enough because in reality, her love is much much much more deeper than the surface Nayeon can see.

"Nayeon.." Momo desperately calls, calling her name as if trying to convey her feelings, "I know, I used to be a player. But that doesn't mean I can't love truly, madly and deeply."

"Momo, " Nayeon turned away, "I didn't want to hurt you but.. I'm sorry."

"Oh, the temple looks beautiful, "Sana says walking around hand by hand with Sana. They are walking in group with Jeongyeon. They've already walked around for almost 30 minutes, taking pictures and taking time admiring the historical temple.

"I know right? The architectural style of Yakcheonsa Temple is very beautiful isn't it?" Jeongyeon answered, " It is reminiscent of that of Buddhist temples of the early Joseon Dynasty. Measuring an impressive 30m high and spanning a total area of 3,305 meters squared, it is the largest temple in the East. The temple also enshrines the spirit tablets of past royalty such as King Munjong and his wife Queen Hyeondeok, King Yeongchinwang and his wife Lady Yi Bang-ja."

"and who cares?" Tzuyu said straight to her face, "you nerd."

Jeongyeon can't help it anyways, aside from the fact that she loves architecture, her profession—she's always been an overachiever. When she does something, she does it with passion, just like when she's in basketball during highschool.

"Ya! You're still younger than me! And I just can't help but admire it! The temple is old yet it's properly reserved, even though it went through a lot, it still didn't make it less any beautiful." Jeongyeon says.

"Great, now she's a poet," Tzuyu teased.

"But she's right, Tzuyu." Sana smiled and looked at Tzuyu, "Just like our relationship. Even though we're 3 years now.. and we've fought a lot, gone through a lot. For me, it didn't make this love any less beautiful."

Tzuyu was awestruck for a minute as she gave a heartfelt smile to Sana, "Oh, I love you."

"ughh.." Jeongyeon groaned as she rolled her eyes, "Why do I have to be a third wheel to you guys? I'm sharing a room with Mina and Chaeyoung and now, I have to tour with Satzu?"

"Because you've already eaten breakfast," Sana commented.

Jeongyeon said "you know that's not the point Sana.."

Sana let out a deep sigh as she look at her friend with serious eyes.

"I let you meet Nayeon again, jeongyeon. But that's not because I want you back together." Sana answers. "I just want you to reconcile finally rest all the burden you have. I can't let you be together again.. you're always hurting her."

Sana's words hits Jeongyeon's heart like a huge knife. Then it brought her back to the times, Nayeon cried. The way she treated Nayeon and the way she didn't care about her.

'You're always sorry'

She remembered Nayeon's line then. She's always sorry.. sorry for hurting her and sorry for still loving her right now even though she doesn't desrve it. Sana's right. She remembered promising Sana before that she'll take care of Nayeon but she failed her. All Sana thinks about anyway is for Nayeon's wellbeing.

"Do you know how much it hurts to be friends with someone you loved---- still in love with?" Sana says, "That was Nayeon's question before, when you and Mina got together. Now Jeongyeon, through all the pain she went through, do you honestly think she's still willing to try it out with you? I don't think so. So stop it."

As Sana finished to say those words, she walked out.

"Don't worry," Tzuyu says as she pats Jeongyeon's shoulder, "There's no limit in forgiveness in love. I know that. If she's still in love with you, no matter what you had done, she'll be willing. Because there's no perfect relationship or a perfect person. "

Jeongyeon looks at Tzuyu and smiles.

"Just pray honestly in the Vairocana Buddha here." Tzuyu smiled back, "They say it's the largest in korea. Pray hard that she's still in love with you ..because my 20 000 won depends on that."

"20 000 won?"

"oh nothing." Tzuyu smiles and ran to catch up to her girlfriend.

                   After they finished touring on the famous temple, they've reached their next destination, which is honestly the thing most of them had been looking forward to-- Jungmun Beach. Everyone loves the beach.

As Nayeon walks, she noticed the different shades of black, red, and grey are beautifully mixed into the white sand of the beach which accentuate Jeju-do Island's black Hyeonmuam stones. She looks at the area and let her body feel the fresh air.

Years ago, she might've been trying to kill herself, but maybe now it's different. She had moved on with that part of her life. After feeling the sand on her feet, she decided to explore the right side of the beach is a natural sea cave called Haesikgul Cave.

On the cave, she already saw a familiar person sitting on the rocks.

"Mina!" Nayeon greeted, "what're you doing here, alone?"

Mina smiled, "well, Chaeyoung wanted to swim more, but I'm getting tired of swimming. I wanted to explore this place. It's wonderful."

"I know," Nayeon smiles, "didn't know places like these exist in Korea too. The city is just far from such a peaceful place like this."

"It's peaceful right, but not when those two finds you,"Mina says pointing out to the two obvious people, Momo and Jeongyeon who seems like they're looking for someone. But they still wouldn't be able to see her inside the cave because it's well hidden.

"I just hope they won't find me." Nayeon says, "I wanted some peace and quiet tour. To relax.. not to be confused."

Mina smiles, "Those two are competing over you. Aren't you lucky?"

"I'm not."

"You are," Mina says, "Jeongyeon is a good person and Momo is too. I can say that because I know them both, and to be loved by both means you have a chance to be with one of them."

"They don't love me. I don't believe it." Nayeon says as she looked down.

"C'mon I know you believe." Mina says rubbing Nayeon's shoulder, "You notice the way Momo's eyes sparks when she looks at you or the way Jeongyeon's voice turns gentle when she talks to you."

Nayeon turned quiet, "Maybe."

"Momo too." Mina said, "Momo loves you sincerely I can see it. She's my cousin so I wanted you to at least consider her as well, she had gone through a lot too."

"gone through a lot....?" Nayeon asked, not having a single information about what Mina is saying.

"Never mind, just let her tell you that, I'm not the one who should say these things" Mina says, "Well anyways, Maybe you just need to give one more chance?"

"One more chance.. with Jeongyeon?" Nayeon asked as her evident confusion revealed on her face.

"Not just a chance for Jeongyeon but... another chance for yourself. To give yourself a chance to be loved better. By either both of them—because I believe, no matter who choose, they'll love you sincerely." Mina says.

"Is that how you and Chaeyoung lasted for 3 years?"

"Of course, we give each other chances every day to love each other much better," Mina said.

"Thank you, I wish I could've been friends with you much earlier, "Nayeon said, "You're so nice, no wonder Chaeyoung is so smitten."

Mina turned beet red, "I'm smitten too, actually."

"Oh, they're going to start the barbeque! Let's help." Nayeon said as she pulled Mina out of the cave.

They start to walk towards the others. Sana is starting the barbecue with Tzuyu, Jessica and Taeyeon. Chaeyoung walked towards Mina and pulled her into the water as they both giggled. Amber and Krystal are having alone time with the others. Hyoyeon and Sooyoung are preparing the beer. Yuri, Yoona and Sunny are all in the water laughing.

"Do you think you're cute with your pink life jacket?" Yoona teased. They are all actually laughing, teasing Tiffany at her pink life jacket. They can't help but find funny how the woman is always overly dramatic.

"I am actually," Tiffany said then flips her hair, "I am always cute."

"I didn't think I ever saw you like that," Sunny chuckled.

Everyone laughed as they teased Tiffany pulling her into the water.

"Stop! Stop! You know I hate the ocean" Tiffany said.

"and it's Taeyeon's fault." The woman continued shouting it so Taeyeon could hear from the barbecue grill almost 5 meters away from them.

"why is it my fault?" Taeyeon shouts back from where she stood.

"I tried to save you in the ocean when we were in college because your stupid ass is drowning but I didn't realize I couldn't swim as well, we almost drowned together! "Tiffany said.

"how is it my fault you're stupid sometimes?!" Taeyeon yells.

"Be glad I found you both that time and pulled you out of the water," Sooyoung meddled.

"Be thankful to me, I give you both mouth to mouth resuscitation!" Jessica yells, "you would've been dead already if I didn't give you CPR that time!"

"eww," Tiffany's nose scrunched up, " don't remind me."

"I remember that," Taeyeon laughs, "I thought I'm going to die but when I woke up I saw Sica's beautiful face, I thought I still couldn't breathe that time."

As Taeyeon said that, Jessica's face turned red as apples. Taeyeon grins as she looked at her girlfriend, that was the time maybe she was completely captivated.

While everyone is laughing and having fun, Nayeon walks towards them, yet she felt uncomfortable.

'Those stares' Nayeon thought.

Of course, she could notice the two staring at her at the same time, Momo and Jeongyeon. As if wanting to say something but couldn't. it's as if she's a painting they're both admiring.

She felt like she could melt anytime. She's walking over to Sana when suddenly she felt something stung her feet.

"Ouch!"

"Ouch!"

Immediately, upon hearing Nayeon scream, Jeongyeon and Momo both came to Nayeon.

"are you alright?" momo asked panicking.

"do you think she's alright when she screamed?" Jeongyeon sighs, "Nayeon let me help you."

"no no," it's fine. Nayeon's eyes are almost watery but she tried toheld it in, " I think I stepped on something."

Nayeon lifted her feet when she saw what actually stung her.

"it's a goddamn sea urchin," Momo says as she held Nayeon's foot and removed the it. Her foot starts to feel pain even more, there's black spots on her feet.

Nayeon's tears starts to fell as she rubs her legs. Momo rubs Nayeon's head to comfort. It just pains her seeing the woman cry.

"does it hurt?" Momo asked, "Do you need alchohol?"

Nayeon tried to step then she yelped from pain. It was then Momo realized how it's more serious than she thought it is.

Jeongyeon pulled Nayeon's waist into her, "come here, I'll help you walk."

Everyone on the area is frozen still, looking on the next scene happening between the three of them. All can feel the tension within the air.

"No. It still hurts?" Momo asked, noticing the way Nayeon winced everytime she steps.

It was then she pulled Nayeon away from Jeongyeon and bridal carried her in her arms, "this way you don't need walk."

Jeongyeon's mouth opened as she felt her heart being stabbed and blood rising in her head. Yes, of course, she's jealous yet she still chose to let it go—because after all, Momo's right. That way Nayeon wouldn't have to walk. Though she wished she would've been the one to carry her into her arms, again.

"Let's take her to the bus, "Yoona says, "I'll help."

"no, I'll help them." Jeongyeon says.

"no, I'm a nurse. I know what to do," Yoona said, "This is a sea urchin, I need to treat it right away."

All Jeongyeon could do was follow them into the tour bus and watch Yoona treat Nayeon. This time again, she couldn't do anything but to see her get hurt.

"Thank god, it's fine now." Yoona says, "but it's probably gonna swell more."

"I'm just gonna rest now," Nayeon says, "go have fun."

"No, I'm not letting you stay here alone." Jeongyeon said.

"Sana will stay with me.. right Sana?" Nayeon looked at Sana who gladly smiled and nodded, "and Tzuyu too."

Momo said, "but then can we stay with you?"

"No," Sana said, "have fun there, you won't want Nayeon feel like she spoiled the fun for both of your right? And please let her mind rest for now."

That was then the two realizes what Sana meant to say.

"are you going to be alright? When you need anything just call me, I'll give you barbecue, coffee or even beer." Momo smiles.

"no thanks, "Nayeon said, "and by the way Momo, I'm sorry for all what've said earlier."

Momo stopped then smiled again. A smile that could capture anyone's heart, "It's alright nayeon-ah."

"You can call me too, "Jeongyeon said, "I'll give you everything."

Nayeon looked down as she felt her heart racing once more but Tzuyu on the side is holding back hr laughter looking at how red Nayeon is. Nayeon tried to disguised it with a poker face as she smiled as Jeongyeon, "It's fine, go already."

"Bye Nayeon," Momo smiles, and as Nayeon turned her head towards her, she suddenly says,

"I love you."

Maybe it was the fact that Momo said it so openly and bravely that Nayeon couldn't say anything, she couldn't answer too—but this time, Momo's I love you felt a little more different than before. As Momo said that, she didn't look at Jeongyeon to mock her. It has been said like it's not meant to confuse Nayeon or to make her choose her, but to remind her of her love. it was all a sincere declaration of love.

After that, Jeongyeon and Momo left the tour bus and walked towards to sea again. Just the two of them. The evident tension resides on the air.

"Momo," Jeongyeon called, "what are you exactly still doing?"

"uhmm, walking?" Momo said sarcastically.

"you know what I mean." Jeongyeon glares, "'I love you'? really?"

"I can say it all I want, because I mean it. And for god's sake, t's none of your business"

"It's my business because I'm trying win back my girl. maybe you didn't know but----"

"I know, I know what happened last night in the cave. But that doesn't mean anything Jeongyeon. I won't back down. I love Nayeon,"Momo then snickered, "so try all you wont, goodluck with that."

"no thanks, I don't need luck, "Jeongyeon smiled, "because I'll get her back. I love her."

Momo chuckled, "you are so funny. You thought this is another story when the jerk gets the leading girl?"

Jeongyeon smirked, "It's good that you know you're only the second lead."

Momo's hands clenched into a fist as she gritted her teeth. She calmed her composure and smirked, "so high confidence when nayeon doesn't even told you she loves you too?"

Jeongyeon smiles, "I know Nayeon loves me--- still loves me."

Momo smirked, "You're Delusional."

"I won't give up," jeongyeon said like declaration of war.

"I won't back down," Momo smirks, accepting the battle.

Chapter 15 updated :D

Well, not a lot to say about this chapter, Just Nayeon's still closed Heart. I mean It happens guys, when we got hurt really bad we're hesistant to be in a relationship once again. Forgive nayeon for now. :)

and who wouldn't be confused when two hotties are fighting over you. XD
