Jeongyeon had often see that girl, Nayeon-- as everyone would call her having this silly grin on her face or lighting up the whole hallways with her bright aura. She's a girl everyone loved.
Jeongyeon knows that their completely different yet somehow since she saw her crying on the streets that night, she always had her eyes on her. They passed by each other like nothing happened but a part of Jeongyeon had changed.

Regardless, Today was bit different from the normal 'Nayeon'. She was smiling of course-- but it doesn't reach her eyes, it wasn't that lovely genuine smile Jeongyeon always stared at.

"who are you staring at, unnie?" Chaeyoung asked jeongyeon as she looked over to see who's the latter so focused, only to see it was actually Im Nayeon standing near by the lockers with two other students.
"Oh.. Im Nayeon?" Chaeyoung turned to jeongyeon and smiled slyly.
"w-what?" Jeongyeon said as she rubbed the back of her neck and averted her eyes, "I'm looking at nothing."
"Look who's guilty." Chaeyoung chuckled, "You have a crush on her?"

"Heck N-no! I mean we're both girls!" Jeongyeon answered hesistantly.

"yeah and so? stop acting like you're straight." chaeyoung laughed.

"Well.. uh.. we're different, and i'm just curious!" Jeongyeon said.

"ahh.. wae?" Chaeyoung asked as she furrowed her eyebrows looking at Nayeon.

"Nothing, she just looks a bit down today."

"She's laughing though." Chaeyoung though.

"hey hey, what's happening here?" Sana came towards them and asked the younger, putting her arms around the smaller.

"hyung said that Nayeon looks a bit down."

"jinja?" Sana tilted her head, "Ya! Im Nayeon!"

Jeongyeon sitffened up as Sana calls her and almost covered her up but tried to act cool. Nayeon turned her head and look at them and gave her usual friendly smile, "what is it?"

"Jeongyeon here!" Sana shouted poiting on Jeongyeon, "Yoo jeongyeon--"

Because of how visible Jeongyeon's nervousness at that moment, Chaeyoung can't help but laugh. Jeongyeon pinched her secretly as she stayed quiet and awkwardly stand there as Sana kept on pointing at her and Nayeon, including two girls she's with, is staring at her.

"This jeongyeon thinks you're a bit down today!" Sana exclaimed.

Nayeon froze a bit--- as if, Jeongyeon hits the bull's eye, she looks at the latter. No one had ever noticed how she felt down, she thinks she had it covered up, why does jeongyeon can see through her?

Sana chukled and pats Jeongyeon, she leaned down as whisphered to the football captain, "Say some encouragement."

Jeongyeon didn't falter though as Sana exclained for everyone to hear, "Jeongyeon will say words of encouragement to you."

"W-what?" Jeongyeon really wnat to beat Sana up.

"What is it?" Nayeon asked as she smiled kindly looking at Jeongyeon, and as they make eye contact, jeongyeon averted her eyes feeling her cheeks burning up.

"Come on tell her!" Sana laughed.

Jeongyeon looked down as she quietly but audibly said, "Cheer up."

"Mina!" The three turned around when they heard a familiar voice coming towards them, "and Nayeon?"

"that's Nayeon-unnie for you, you punk." Nayeon said as she scolded the person who just arrived, who is none other than Chaeyoung.

"What are you three doing here?" Chaeyoung smiled, "Can I Join?"

"We're not really doing anything..." Mina answered, who looked a bit uncomfortable by seeing chaeyoung. The latter can't even look at Chaeyoung's eyes anymore.

"Oh come on! Can't i join? Treat me for some chocolate fudge unnie." Chaeyoung chuckled as she sat comfortably next to Mina who scooted a bit further because being near chaeyoung takes all the air she breathe. Mina turned a bit awkward but not really obvious but still, Momo can't help but notice the difference.

"so who's this?" Chaeyoung said smiling to a unfamiliar person sitting beside Nayeon. She's quite pretty on Chaeyoung's opinion.

"I'm Momo. Mina's cousin, please to meet ya." Momo said introducing herself.

"Oh, it's your cousin Mina-unnie?" Chaeyeoung said facing mina, "You're not alike at all."

Mina smiled without saying anything as thoughts runs through her head. Thinking why Chaeyoung's acting so normally-- as if nothing ever happened that night.

Nayeon scoffed because of the awkward silence and faced Momo, "you know what? Chaeyoung is Jeongyeon's sister!"

Momo raise her eyebrows as if realizing something. "oh really?"

"yeah, don't they resemble each other a bit." Nayeon chuckled, "But i swear, their sense of humor are the same-- they're both dorky and a lot of times, they laugh on their own jokes."

"Who are you thrash-talking?" it was then they saw Jeongyeon a few steps away from their table who's wearing a gray hood and ripped pants. The newly-arrived person came towards them and greeted, "Chaeyoung, Nayeon, what are you all doing here?"

"Jeongyeon!" Nayeon beamed upon seeing Jeongyeon. No one could ever deny that that was the face of someone in love.

"What about you though bro? what are YOU doing here?" Chaeyoung asked.

It was then Jeongyeon pointed on Mina, "Coming for her."

It was then Chaeyoung swallowed a bit and lowered her head. 'Yeah of course, kind of forgot about that' She thought. It was the same reaction coming from Nayeon too, and of course, Momo finally realized what's going on.

"Let's go?" Mina asked as if in a hurry to go. She can't stand being near chaeyoung naymore. She felt restless, nervous and undescrible feeling keeps surfacing. It was a relief to see Jeongyeon.

"Why don't you both stay first? I want to get to know your girlfriend Mina." Momo smiled, mischievously.

"um... who's this?" Jeongyeon asked as she turned to face her finally. It was then she saw how Momo's arm is placed behind Nayeon's chair. Then she have this gut-feeling that there's something else going on.

"She's my cousin. Momo, this is Jeongyeon."

Momo then smiled slyly. It was confirmed, 'Jeongyeon' was the girl Nayeon is crying over. She was the giver of the ring.

"It's nice meeting you." Jeongyeon politely answered, "But we should get going."

"I should be going too." Chaeyoung said.

"Oh well, it's fine then. Nayeon and I can have a date here." Momo chuckled looking at Nayeon as she pats her head and glanced a bit on Jeongyeon's way.

It was that moment as if an alarm was set to burst out in Jeongyeon's mind. As if it's alerting her of someone that might take away something important to her.

"Just kidding!" Momo laughed.
Nayeon laughed but all of them stopped, as if their holding their breathes.
"but seriously, Momo stop being flirty out of habit." Nayeon groaned, "It ain't funny."
"aww, you judge me too much." Momo said pouting.

"whatever." Nayeon said giggling.

"why is everyone gathered here?" Jihyo said who came in walking towards them. There's awkwardness and tension in the air as she walked in.

"what are you doing here too?" jeongyeon asked.

"I'm coming with Nayeon, i was supposed to meet her." Jihyo said.

"why?"

"None of your business Lol just kidding, i'm supposed to invite her to go shopping.... since you know, i'll be inviting you all to the beach~!"

"say what" Nayeon said, "You know i don't like swimming!"

"oohh! i love the beach!" Chaeyoung beamed, "The sun, the waves, sand castles!!"

"and campfires!" Jihyo said, "and you know my birthday is coming. so I want you all to come. and that chick can come too."

Jihyo pointed on Momo, "can you?"

Momo looked at Nayeon and smiled sheepishly, "I would love to come."

and Jeongyeon didn't liked the idea just as she didn't like Momo.

The waves, the sun and the fresh breeze. Nayeon hates swimming but she loves the atmosphere, the air and the ambiance. It's calming, and refreshing as if she's escaping reality.
They just arrived on the beach after unpacking their luggage on the hotel. Of course, it's Jihyo's celebration together with the same troupe with some new girls--- somi, Momo, Jihyo's littler sister, natty and their twin cousins, Chaeyeon and Chaeryeong.

Nayeon doesn't like swimming since she's younger but there's always some good memories regarding it. When she closes her eyes, she remembered that one time, when Jeongyeon and her went to the beach. As she close her eyes, it was so vivid. The feeling of water on her foot, the sun kissing on their skin and the heat on their palms entwined and the way water splashes over her face as the sound of Jeongyeon's laughter echoed. She close her eyes as she sigh deeply, remembering those happier days. So many times, Nayeon had hated time-- the time which can't be turned back.
As she looked on the right, she saw Mina and Jeongyeon walking side by side on bay. They look so perfect together-- as if aesthetic, a form of photography or a scene in the movie.

As she stayed just observing, she saw Sana and Tzuyu playing and holding hands by the sea and of course, everyone could see how happy they are. Nayeon knew all this time that Tzuyu has feelings for Sana. of course, it's because Tzuyu is usually evil and savage yet turned soft and gentle to Sana. A bit more, Jeongyeon and Mina came running back to them-- with a dog.

"Look, It's a golden retriever!" Jeongyeon squealed. Nayeon smiled as she saw Jeongyeon smiling happily. It's because she knows how much the latter loves dogs.

"It's so cute!" Mina smiled as she hugs the dog. Apparently, the latter has the same fascination with animals.

"they suit each other well, don't they?" Somi said, "they look perfect with each other."

Nayeon felt a knife stabbed on her heart. It's because she doesn't like animals. she knows too well, that she doesn't share the same interest with Jeongyeon and they weren't compatible. Everyone is looking at the cute dog as Nayeon sat a bit away from them when Momo suddenly sat by her.

Momo chuckled as she pats her head, "Don't worry, I don't like dogs either."

Like magic, she felt lighter. She chuckled as she look at Momo's warm gentle eyes, "Really? why?"

Momo shook her head, "I was eating jokbal outside our house when I was in high school, when five dogs suddenly chased after me. I screamed so loud the whole neighborhood heard me"

Nayeon laughed as she imagine Momo's expression, "Daebak!then what happened?"

"my mother came to help me. I was almost crying and asked her 'Momo, why won't they leave me alone!' My mother shouted, 'idiot drop the jokbal so they'll leave you!'"

Nayeon laughed so hard her stomach hurt. Momo chuckled as she remembered her experience, "I still didn't dropped the jokbal."

Nayeon chuckled, laughing as Momo can't help but look at her. She was bit captivated on how beautiful she laughed, and how pleasant is to the ears. Maybe, a lot of us felt it already, When something is so beautiful, those feelings in your chest gets so big it hurts. That's what Momo feels right now as she looked at the latter.

The latter stopped when caught the way Momo stares at her. Her eyes was unwavering as if she was being swallowed by those dark round eyes, Nayeon looked away. She she wiped her sweats on her forehead, trying to shake away that uneasy feeling she had on the pit of her stomach.

If Chaeyoung had something to hate about this trip--- she wouldn't name anything. She loves everything in this trip, the food, the perople and the beach. But then again, she somehow hates how her breaks little by little.

Mina has been ignoring her. 'Maybe i'm too troublesome' she thought 'or maybe she thinks i'm too clingy and hates me.' Nevertheless, being ignored by someone is never light to the chest. It's painful when she tried to talk to her, and the other will just pretend she didn't hear her talk or when she tried to sit closer, as if it's really to show her, Mina would stand up and walk over to Jeongyeon.
It's even more scarier to approach her more-- because the more she does, the more its painful when rejection comes.

Chaeyoung walked over the bay watching over the horizon leaving somi alone with the twins. Of course, Somi has always been an extrovert and she quickly blend in the crowds of people she just met. It's a relief though, because Chaeyoung wanted to be alone. She sat by the water a meter away from Natty. Natty is Jihyo's little sister, and you could say they're both comfortable with each other ever since she taught her how to play the guitar earlier. She's a bright kid and takes after Jihyo. They're just on silent when two of them let out a deep sigh at the same time.

"What's with that deep sigh unnie?" Natty asked as she turned her head to chaeyoung.

"Nothing, I'm just being ignored. I think someone's angry." Chaeyoung said putting both of her hands on her face, "She's giving me the silent treatment."

"why? did you do something?" Natty asked.

"I don't .. know, maybe i did. " Chaeyoung said, "But i don't remember."

"It's okey, just the fact that she can get angry over you means she cares about you." Natty smiled, "That's how girls are."

"Wa-wait... How did you know it's a woman?"

Natty widened her eyes as she laughed, "I know you're gay. everyone is here is.. Somi, me and the twins are the only one left who's not crossing the line."

"aish, you're too smart for you're own good." Chaeyoung shook her head, "anyways, what are you sighing for too? you're too young to sigh like that!"

"stop treating me like a kid, I'm 14 already. It's just that.. i'm having this biggest crush on someone older than me, ever did that unnie?" Natty said, "and that person would just see you like a little ssiter more than a love potential."

Chaeyoung chuckled, "I did that once."

Of course, Chaeyoung had that same experience with Mina. She was stupid that time that she knows her daily schedule and what food she likes and she almost memorize all the little details about her.

"ya, don't give up. Look at Tzuyu.. she is finally dating Sana-unnie." Chaeyoung smiled, "You don't know what will happen in the future."

"what about yours unnie? did yours went well?" Natty asked.

Chaeyoung sighs softly, "No it didn't though. But it's cool. everyone gets heartbroken on their first love, some are just lucky enough."

"Unnie," natty looked up on chaeyoung's face, "in which you mean the girl you like is it, that 'Mina' girl, Jeongyeon-unnie is with?"

Chaeyoun's eyes turned wide as she denied, "N-no.. how could you say that?"

"Well," natty asnwered, "Rememebr ealier when she couldn't eat well? I saw you subtle putting ketchup beside her, and later on i can see that she finally had her apetite again."

Of course, Chaeyoung knew, Mina would enjoy it if there's ketchup. She knows everything about Mina--- that sometimes it hurts because Mina wouldn't notice a thing about her.

"Stop that Natty, She's Jeongyeon-unnie's girlfriend." chaeyoung answered.

"But That doesn't mean you can't love her." natty answered.

Chaeyoung smiled sadly as she look down.

"YA! Chaeyoungieee! let's play!!" Chaeyoung got up when somi called her and dragged her to play in the sea.

Jeongyeon sighs as she cut off the meat about to be barbecued. She stomp and stomp and scared the hell out of Sana who's preparing it with her. Sana stopped, as she saw the person Jeongyeon is looking at. Of course it's none other than, Im Nayeon, who's talking with that so called - "momo."

wth she looks like a thug. cant believe Nayeon if friends with her, Jeongyeon thought.

"Ya, that meat is already done! stop cutting already!"

Jeongyeon stopped when she heard Sana scolding her already. She rubbed her head as her left hand turned into a fist.

Mina sat by the bench letting the fresh breeze pass through her as Jeongyeon help Sana preparing their food. She closed her eyes when a familiar laughter caught her attention, She turned her head looking at Chaeyoung who is playing by the Sea with Somi already. The latter is wearing a cropped fitted sando, exposing her already tanned skin. Her shoulder was sun burnt, as the water drop from chaeyoung's hair to her kneck to her shoulder, Mina couldn't help but steal a prolonged look at her.
As the latter pulled her body and swam, it exposed her back which made Mina finally looked away. She felt her cheeks burning up with the thoughts that crossed her mind.

'She's a kid' Mina tried to think, 'There is nothing sexy about a kid'

"Mina-unnie!" Chaeyoung waved as she smiled so bright that it could blind anyone. Mina turned red as looked away shyly.
Chayeoung frowned. Upset on how the older ignored her, but soon resumed on playing on the water. The older put her hands on her cheeks as she felt her cheeks still red, and her heart pumping non-stop. She was just glad that Chaeyoung didn't notice, but unfortunately, Momo did.

"ohh look~ Minari is gawking at someone" The blonde said as she approached Mina.

"w-what are you saying!" Mina's face turned beet red, "I am not! don't lump me with you!"

"whatever do you mean my dear cousin?" Momo scoffed.

Mina glared at Momo, "I can see you eyeing Nayeon since we got here!"

"Excuse me, it's not my fault that her skin is that white and flawless!" Momo exclaimed, "Any gay person would be eyeing on her!"
Mina rolled her eyes, "Pervert!"
Momo opened her mouth, acting shocked as she laughed, "I'm not the only one though."

"what?" Mina asked a bit confused.
"I'm not the only one who's eyeing at her all day long."

"what do you mean?" Mina asked.
"that person---------"

"Mina!" Momo was cut off when Jeongyeon came on their way, offering some barbecue. Momo shooked her head as she sighs. People can be pretty stupid sometimes.

The sea was calm and the wind makes Jeongyeon felt relaxed. Finally, she was able to breathe. The week has been hectic and honestly, Nayeon's action has been driving her insane. Jeongyeon's desicion has always been clear. Once she decides then that's it. If she hates someone, she hates him/her to the end. If she likes someone, and it'll be clear.

Nayeon is the only person that's been a confusion for her. Since the day she met her, nothing is clear about Nayeon. Nayeon is an open book, yet sometimes, she felt as if there's a wall around nayeon that people couldn't cross. She was easy to get close to, but it was never easy to read her heart because, Nayeon often smile. She smiles when she's happy, but she smiles too when she's sad.

and Jeongyeon knows too well, that there's something bothering Nayeon today.

They're all in the bed now, and She can't sleep. All kinds of thoughs run in her mind. but it's all about one person, It is about her. She knows too well, that somehow or the other, she starts to fall on the same person again which is why she can't help but think about her and on the other hand, she knows how wrong it is. Both for her and for Nayeon. When she broke up with her 3 years ago, she decided that it's the best for both of them.

Jeongyeon stood up as she step outside the beach. She felt the chill as she reached the bay, It was then she suddenly saw a familiar person walking towards the sea. As she got closer, she began to realize that...It was Nayeon.

Little by little--- walking deeper as if the latter is letting the sea drown her.

It scared Jeongyeon.

She run towards the sea, almost stumbling into grabbed, she dive into the water towards Nayeon. She was panicking as she grabbed Nayeon's wrist, "What are you doing?!"

There's a look of shock when Nayeon turned to see Jeongyeon's face. Nayeon and Jeongyeon didn't say anything, just staring at each other's eyes. Looking for something they couldn't read. Seconds more, Nayeon smiled and chuckled, "Why do you look like that? I'm just playing with water!"

Jeongyeon sighs as she tried to smile, "really? alright then."

She didn't pry anymore, and yet she felt as if There's soemthing else in there. She know all too well, that Nayeon isn't playing or swimming in the water. Out of breath she muttered, "That's a relief."

"Let's go back." Jeongyeon said as she held Nayeon's hand, grabbing her towards the land. "It's night already. Stop playing already! It's best to rest during night."

"Jeongyeon..." Nayeon uttered, when Jeongyeon looked at Nayeon's face, she felt her heart beating again. Nayeon squeezed Jeongyeon's hand as she smiled bitterly, "Maybe, It's time to accept.. that a lot of thing changed already."

Nayeon turned her back, as All Jeongyeon can do is look at her back. Her hand reached on her, as she put it down again.

"Nayeon-ah, I----------" She wanted to embrace Nayeon right there, to pull her into her arms and pat her head. She wanted to make her smile, genuinely. But she doesn't have the right to.

Instead, she stayed there. Feeling the cold water beneath her, as she feel her own heart yearning.

Nayeon was left in the hotel's balcony as she stare on the sea as Jeongyeon came back to her room. A lot changed already. She can see that now. Nayeon could feel tears welling in her eyes.

Since the day she fell in love with Jeongyeon with her silly 'Cheer up' line. Jeongyeon, used to see through her-- when she's feeling down. Now, She wonders why Jeongyeon couldn't. It's been years since that exact day, and honestly,Today is a good day, a day completely different 6 years ago even if its the exact same date. She blamed herself for trying.. kill herself in the sea earlier. She knows how wrong it is.. since, 6 years ago-- the same date, Her father hanged himself.

Nayeon teared up as she think of him. He wasn't a good father-- he abused her and ignored her existence, nevertheless, Nayeon never gave up on him, that she thought one day, he'll come to love him. She nver gave up, but her father did.

She came to school, acting like nothing happened--- just like it had always been. She's always been good at this, pretending that she's fine. If she didn't, then she couldn't survive. Faking has always been a way for her not cope up with life-- even if she's dying inside. She smiled and laughed with her friends, It was that day then, Jeongyeon called out to her.

"Cheer up" it was simple yet, it's a word Nayeon never heard-- since no one is close enough to notice. She felt so overwhelmed her hear aches, that somehow someone was able to see through her bright facade. Jeongyeon never got to know how that little thing she said meant the whole world for someone like Nayeon.

Nayeon sighs as she laid down on bed. As tears fell down on her eyes, She feels like she's drowning again, even if she wasn't on water. She felt like drowning and no one is noticing.

"A lot had changed already." She knows that Jeongyeon wasn't the same anymore. Jeongyeon used to know when she was sad even when she's smiling--- but not, it was proven that that wasn't the case anymore.

Her heart sunk earlier. She wanted Jeongyeon to see through her smile, to hug her and tell her how her fake smile wouldn't work on her. But that wasn't the case. Nayeon told herself that People change. She noticed how Jeongyeon did. How Jeongyeon now likes that idol she used to hate, how the way she dressed changed, or the jokes that mde her laughed.

A lot had changed, and Nayeon felt like she was left hanging. She left standstill. Her clock stopped on the day she left her.

The only thing that wasn't changing is probably that....

she's still stupidly-- in love with same woman.
